You are gonna be in so much pain.
It's cool, yes.
But lemme please be the voice of reason. I mean... getting a wrecked car is already sketchy enough.
But getting a car of which fewer than 100 exist outside of Japan... That's gonna destroy you man.
in Japan?
I'm actually applying there, because I'm bored here
Lots of fun cars to buy here.
@dense shard exactly
you know imma buy a panther body first
I might get pulled over a lot
though
electric power steering > hydraulic power steering
@dense shard
hydraulic has lots more shit to go wrong
lol
When the wienermobile gets pulled over, this probably the most midwest thing to happen
i like slow and quirky cars
I really like the porsche Cayman
because it's not 911
AMC gremlin
But I got it because it was the only car that I could get soon enough to get my ass to work
That I could fit in
Wth is AMC
I live in Europe
amc was an old American car company that kinda 'tried' competing with the big three
they've been dead for a while now
their cars are pretty quirky tho ngl
Ou
Summer time ... 2 stroke time π
It does 120+kmph
jesus christ
But legal speed is 45kmph and 50ccm 5.5hp ... its 75ccm and 11-12hp
you need some brass balls do do that
But legal speed is 45kmph and 50ccm 5.5hp ... its 75ccm and 11-12hp
@winter viper that's some power right there
Naa its goo .. Big brakes .. Same brakes as the 125ccm MC model
nice
Here we race them on gocart tracks
"budget" motorsport ... Cheapest way to start racing 2 wheels
Only need a scooter .. race suit and some big balls

"Brand new Lamborghini wrecked in M1 crash near Wakefield - just '20 minutes' after purchase"

200 grand pissed away
dont u mean audi ?
yes ik audi is owned by VAG but technically lambo is owned by audi
well controlled by audi
lol
imagine paying for a huracan when the R8 exists
but its not any old huracan
imagine paying for any of those when a mgb exists
its the performante spider, rare
but its not any old huracan
@fossil imp looks like the performante
ayy
nice
you see the italian stripes
yuh
Imagine buying any of these when a MGB exists

@stoic ledge isn't Dacia just outdated renault?
@fathom socket yes it's some old Renault bits thrown together
It's on a different platform tho
Ou
Not on an old Clio platform
Yeah
Dacia developed their own, which was later also used for the Kaptur (not Captur, but the bigger similar looking one for countries like Brazil) and the US Nissan Kicks
This specific Sandero actually has the modern/latest Renault engine at the time... The amazing 0.9 TCe (turbo) 3-cyl
so if i get like a 40 year old car, you reckon with daily work being done on it i could get it running in top shape in around a year?
Connected to an AMT so shifting takes 30 days
shool is cancelled probably for the rest of like next year so i was thinking an older car to work on in the meantime would be a great idea
so if i get like a 40 year old car, you reckon with daily work being done on it i could get it running in top shape in around a year?
Depends on the car xD
Nissan 300zx 85-87
honestly reading reviews on the car
it would be difficult to find one that DIDNT work
so i mean considering i can get one for around 2k-4k that sounds like a pretty good car right?
It'll probably do the trick, yes
i mean it seems like a fun car to have
1990 honda prelude
eh personally that car just doesnt look as good and doesnt have as good of a stereo inside it
also it aint got that digital dash
Hi scared, I'm MK
hello MK

I just remembered how much I hate electronic power steering
there's absolutely no feedback in most cars that have EPS, and there's a slight delay on steering input
just give me a manual rack instead if you aren't gonna give me normal power steering
Too bad basically everything now is electronic
Better in the old days .. Need tools then you can fix anything on a car .. Today .. You need a computer lots of cables and then maby it can tell you what the problem is
Far more fun to drive then it has any business being
I saw a unicorn today.
What was it?
I spotted this unicorn last year.
That's amazing
damn
callaways are harder to find than a dissatisfied husband on a saturday evening
I think that this was a custom thing some Swede built.
jesus that aerowagon is hideous
looks like a volvo 145 with extra steps
lol
This looks better right
π€’
classic example of an impreza driver tryin to make it look like an STi = massive fail
Lookin great
i hope u are joking
Ofc
My brother has a 2017 hatch
I personally think it looks better than the sedan
But that's my preference lol
yea its marmite
classic example of an impreza driver tryin to make it look like an STi = massive fail
@fossil imp it is a Sti
Stupidity
STi's have steelies? heh

most suprising thing is that he still has the steelies on it
yea if ure gonna throw a homemade "bodykit" on it, at least upgrade the wheels
@devout atlas THIS is an STi dum dum
Mk2 / Mk3 Honda Preludes are the perfect car
kek
i remember getting owned by 1 in a 205 GTi 1.9 which made me stick a 405mi16 engine in it
then i owned the prelude π
think they were 160 brake stock those preludes right?
not the ones i know of
less?
mk3 had a max of 150
ive been looking for a lower end model to grab onto, one i saw recently didnt have fuel injection either
Insurance company suprisingly is ok with the honda prelude
they despise honda civics for some reason heh
i wonder why lol
i think the reputation of them here in the UK is so scuffed
i was being sarcastic π
i remember getting owned by 1 in a 205 GTi 1.9 which made me stick a 405mi16 engine in it
Wait an 405 Mi16 engine? Epic!
yea mate
:PogWant:
had yamaha throttle bodies on it too, made 200bhp
my uh 86hp 900kg Mazda 2 which i had fully loaded with stuff was struggling to hold 72.2222mph up a hill yesterday had to suffer and turn the AC off, which wasnt really doing anything for me as i had it on demister anyway
That thing would've flown π
And they were already quite light
yep
town of speedbumps
Kek
some lethal ones next to school which you cant even do 10mph over without a chiropractor onboard
Cant drive on the wrong side of the road in perths god forsaken one way system atlest
Cant say i didnt spend 30 minutes doing laps of it lost yesterday
turns out searching every carpark for your friend isnt very effective when he hasnt arrived at said car park yet
Who would have thought
he started ahead of me but stopped before he got onto the motorway cause car mat caught accelerator and never caught back up after that
Oof
i was trying to catch up doing 72.2222mph ofcourse but i was instead only keeping the distance of him behind me
Yes classic
We follow up on our reviews of the Lexus LC500, GS F, and RC F with a celebration of what could be Toyota's last use of the naturally aspirated V8. We dive into each car covering just a taste of what it is like to drive and operate. There are better performing Luxury cars fro...
RC-F or LC500 would be swell to own.
LC500
It's worth every dollar.
It looks worth every dollar
It might be the best interior I've seen in a coupe
ever
hell
that's be the world if there was only a LC500
first, there was the LC500
the word
oh boy
I fell in love with that interior
I thought that the Bentley Mulsanne was close
but nope
just nope
the only interior with greater bill-appeal is a 60s bentley interior
with a steering rack that will impale me
life
what is your obsession with being impaled
any car could u impale you if u crash it hard enough
Thinking of getting a CE license.
well thats brown
what is your obsession with being impaled
@fossil imp I just hate how pre 90s cars don't have bloody airbags
grr
Also, it's really easy to be impaled by a 60s car's steering rack
yep
exactly why the 1991 prelude is better than the 89
because airbag
u can still get wasted by the dash thou if the crash is fast n hard enough
ye
mostly leg, pelvis injuries
Was it Monte who hit you?

I 𧩠that
me too
I sure hope not
I think the Volvo V40 was the first and last car to have that
Looks very expensive to replace when deployed tho lol
Also with minimal improvements at best
Hi distressed, I'm MK

hi, :GWmythsBlobGlare:, I'm dad

I should probs go get drill bits soon
USPS usually comes around 5
probs leave around 4
Do you guys think $1,500 sounds reasonable for a CE license?
As someone who already has C.
probably xD
C = Truck
CE = Truck and trailer
Name it for gucci points
Oui je sais
Just try to turn it around with a longer lever.
We cracked something LOL
I would rather die than try working on a 300zx
OOF
you will never know what was written here
nice
first start with new cyl
I have a panther body addiction
yes
Some things don't go the way they're planned. We often call them "mistakes." But some of the best things have come from unplanned events, miscalculations, or aberrations: the Ferrari Testarossa, the Post-It note, and even Jason Cammisa. We asked his mom. Jason was a mistake.
...
mistake?
mistake?
good mistake either way
yes
it might be heavy
and slow
and wide
and brash
and unnecessary
but it's a Testarossa
GOddaMnIt
if it looks like a testarossa it aint no god damn mistake
@normal temple itβs the TT SMZ too LOL
dear christ
New alternator bracket
And new set of belts.
I found out why it kept screeching
π
is there a problem
For what
An E30
Engine?
My crappy Ford even after 300k it takes 5w30 without any issues
I'm just surprised of that thicc oil
Oh no
2g network intensifies
Hm okay
I'm also surprised that my Ford after 300k still takes 5w30 pretty good
Unless there is something that I don't know
I didnt have time to read the whole service book
nah oil changes are useless
Change it when recommended with recommended weight oil.
well recommended by the manual or by the forums?
manual
I never listen to forums or... okay I do change my oil every 5k... instead of 10k.
the forums people say to use dino oil only for some asinine reason
synthetic works fine
and doesn't sludge up
synthetic = 5k mile interval
dino oil = sludge up real bad rael fast
the 1MZ has been known to sludge if you stretch intervals, and you realllly have to try to make synth sludge up
I use the stuff at costco π€£
Ummmm castrol GTX is conventional
If your car wants synthetic, that ain't it chief
my manual doesn't specify but the forums say dInO oiL!1! sYnTheTic oIl iS nOt GoOd
Synthetic works just fine.
and it doesn't sludge up.
I'm not talking about your car
o
I just know Monte Carlo's car is a new Corolla and that PROBABLY takes really light synthetic
Like 0w20
But oil is a rabbit hole that I'm not willing to jump down
Hey guys do you it would be a good idea to fit a 2000 to 03 7.3L powerstroke into a 4 wheel drive 1999 2 door chevy tahoe or no
just keep the Powerstroke in a Ford, it's way easier and you'll have a better vehicle
it could be done, but there isn't much reason
You could swap it over... sure.
oh there are no conventional synthetic 0w-16s.
I just used Castrol GTX in my Accord with zero issues.
anybody willin to change my oil and tires
You need to define a area
Oil is interesting
I've done a bit of research on it just so I can make the engine I want to build last as long as possible
Gonna run a Liqui-Moly 10w50 probably
Stock the engine is supposed to be like 5w30, but with the extra heat from the turbo the extra weight is needed
Opel Insignia :PogWant:
@wild tiger not everything is gold that shines
VW is a good example of this
When a Tacoma parks next to you
no
I live panther bodies
goddamnit
I want
a big
slow
american
modular
4.6
V8
So question I always hear about engine rebuilds being expensive
But I see for a kit of a replacement of seals and piston heads in the engine of the car im looking at is only 500~
Is 4K really labor or am I tripping cause google says they can go from 4.5k and also I do know how to assemble an engine
i like boats
so you like panther bodies?
@left parrot this is my boat
Its surely as heavy as an boat
lol
Yeah Iβm Eu whatβs wrong with that
600
And around 850 nm iirc
a real boat is a Lincoln town car making 202 with a 4.6L v8
now that's a real boat

That should be the right conversion
I6?
It could handle another 100 hp more with bigger turbos
a real boat
3.9L DOHC (yes, ford finally entered the 20th century) V8
making a whopping 280hp
and 388Nm
Curb weight: 3,781 lbs

s40 cant last at all
that's an S80
yes but still
yeah no
gearbox go oof in few days
Pretty sure thats a ford
Didnβt even have to pay the fine, the officer who issued the ticket dIdNt show up to the dispute hearing
Didnβt even have to pay the fine, the officer who issued the ticket dIdNt show up to the dispute hearing
@frank tundra
RCMP officers are scared for their jobs so they are so harmless atm
Saved me a nice 2000
Although I don't plan on going 150 in my Fiat again
at least not for a while
I have before
Had some fun
But my 4 door Fiat Hellcat is generally more fun at the track
I dont know but i find it really amusing when i open a bonnet and see another car make stamped all over the engine
because it's actually a fiat
i know ive seen them somewhere else

maserati is horrible tho
its literally a maserati on the outside
dodge dart on the inside
that tt 400hp v6 sounds as good as the newer c63 biturbos tho
im still a mustang guy at heart
I'm a panther body guy
mustang wasnt practical for what i do with my cars tho
i refuse to buy an auto mustang
and a manual in downtown vancouver traffic was horrible
an auto mustang is a german Shepheard without teeth
my gt was a stage 3 roush with 600hp to the wheels π¦
i honestly sold my mustang too soon
i shouldve kept it
the market value of that thing shot up in vancouver cause stage 3 roush mustangs are so rare here
i think the guy i sold it too, sold it for 10-15k more then he bought it off me for
i was a dumb 18 year old tho
you had a 600hp mustang at the ago of 18
aight

I'm 18
and I have absolutely nothing
I'm goint to get a panther body though
helps that we were family friends with the local ford dealership
I remember driving that thing to school
it eventually got banned from the school parking lot
had to park it on the road whenever i drove to school
did that ban have to do anything with those massive burnouts you pulled off
You have to pay for insurance over there?
nice
more like we had all our cars insured in alberta
where ICBC dosent have a monopoly
its not illegal as long as you have a residence in alberta
which we did
but if we were to get pulled over
the cops would probably get sketched out
Its a really common thing on Dump and Semi Trucks
To have them insured in Alberta even if theyre being ran in BC
Too risky now, but some people still pull it off
how much was that? for insurance.......over here an 18 year old just passed his test would pay around 2500 a year for a 1.1L
Well in BC, it would've been well over 3500
probably more
In alberta it was 2200?
something around there
My mom who was the co-signer has a clean record in Canada for the past 25 years
so that helped a lot
they can
Not in BC or Alberta
Car was stock to the province
Roush is ford certified
Like if i had my hellcat when i was 18
they couldnt have said no to me
its stock
Its more to with age, driving experience and power of car
Still can't say no here
I couldve insured the car in my moms name
and back then i couldve drove it without my name on it
now they passed a new law where everyone whose is immediate family and drives the car must be on the title
I never got pulled over with my Stang in the year and a half i had it
My record was clean till i got my srt
even now i only have 1 real traffic violation that i wasnt able to dispute, so on my hellcat and srt insurance isnt horrible
If you have the money icbc will never say no
it sucks they have a monopoly, but its one of the many flaws of living in surrey/vancouver
Yea, they will do that too. Jack the price up so high you end up getting a slower car
Eh, they can jack my insurance up, ill just sell my srt and keep my hellcat
I only have my Jeep cause it looks more professional for a realtor
Goes down after a while though, mine is only 500 but ive been driving for 10+ years
most buyers hate the loud, popping, gunshot exhaust of the hellcat
As long as you keep the infractions down its usually fine
But ICBC loves to fuck over anyone whose car has more then 400hp
Hopefully that monopoly gets taken down within this decade
its so stupid
Im pretty sure their is some chinese businessman, living in vancouver that would love to offer better rates then icbc
just waiting for his chance
shows you how many people love icbc
insurance in Canada is just ridiculous, not just in BC
I'm in Ontario, I have a perfect record and I drive a 27 year old VW with like 90hp. I live in the middle of nowhere and don't drive on highways much. Even with the bare minimum insurance on it, I pay $2500 a year because I'm 18.
My mom 25+ years clean driving record
drives a new forte
350 a month
- extra 30 a year for the nicer pinkish plates

Ontario is probably fucked cause of brampton tho
the stories scare me
1 thing ik for sure icbc has ruined car culture in van
Young people pay more because they crash more.
Well in brampton
its a mainly older people
surprisingly
its one of the most memed areas in all of canada for having bad drivers
Yes, I guess it more to do with experience and im linking low experience to low age.
where i live surrey, is probably 3-4th for shitty drivers
considering i had a fart can civic cut me off from the left turning lane while im literally going straight in a hellcat
Well no because age does play a big part. Young boys are more likely to drive more dangerous.
True, brampton does live up to that too
its just not only young people
theirs a decent amount of elderly, and middle aged who cause accidents too
ugh
when i was 18 i had my fair share of stunt driving too, ill admit it
No but you tend to slow down as you get older
imagine trying to insure a 7l big block swap camaro
I 100% Agree with you
Brampton is just its own kind
Im personally indo-canadian myself, and i can 100% assure you, our elderly are not good drivers
and brampton is full of them
ah
don't your insurance firms look at the displacement
while putting a value on the car?
ICBC just picks a number out of their ass and throws at you most of the time it seems
over here its all sort, colour changes it
Red = more expensive because its more "prone to cause accidents"
Very unsafe but
I mean
i like knowing that if i get hit, most people have up to a million in coverage
in the senario where i might get hit
whenever you buy a car, the dealership recs up to a million
nice
no insurance is 6 points, 12 points max and ban
I bet the insurance companies would love a red viper
the world discriminates against my 707hp engine
cant take it anywhere without someone getting mad at me π¦
cant take it anywhere without someone getting mad at me π¦
@frank tundra why?
lol they would probably laugh or computer say wtf is that lol
lmao
it was stock at the time
look
my neighbors fiend for my morning cold start
california is america
they have 311 or 911 on speed dial
because you're driving a real man's car
well
I'm happy to report that a 2007 corolla does not require that
if its like 6am i understand
π¦
also
my forte dosent need a cold start delete either π
you gotta go for the 1.6 diesel
for the true 'my wife left me and I'm but an empty husk' feel
Dodge "i have insecurities i hide with my loud exhaust" charger hellcat
someone told me that once before
personally i find the sound relaxing
Ive always lowkey wanted a Mercury Marauder
Like you know cleetus mcfarlands leroy?
do something like that but with a marauder
If ford brought the Marauder back
and put a coyote in it
the hellcat is gone
ye
the marauder is the king of the modulars
because it got the DOHC treatment
too bad they cost a lot
Literally a Grandmas Cobra
Its a 4v v8
its literally a mach 1
a 4 door mach 1
with only 87k kms
Problem is that if you strip and beat up a Marauder, you're destroying an expensive car that has good value
but if you get an old Interceptor, no one gives a shit cause they cost like $5
They're rare and many people don't even know what the Marauder is
This one has been getting reposted for past 3 months
Ive driven this one, and it is as mint as you can get
just no one wants them
no one wants them because they'd rather get a cheapo Crown Vic that looks the same and is cheaper
put an LS in it
you can literally get
a 2010 gt for about 15k
might be able to get a 2011 in a couple years for that much
but i would stay away from 2011-13
For me, spending more than like $8k on a used car is expensive
well people love mustangs in vancouver
GT convertibles 6 speeds hold value insanely
Especially 2011-2014
isn't this gorgeous?
isnt that what chrixfix bought his mom?
he did?
nice
this car
might be underpowered
however
it's so good
these things go for around 15-25k
og price was 32k in 2002
I wonder how much my hellcat will be worth now
also got soft tops
MSRP in BC theyre like 105-110k
yeah
i paid about that much for it
definitely not worth anything north of 80k
oh
corsa exhaust
it's prolly worth 80k
this back end is perfect
Yup thats the car chrisfix bought his mom
and then bought his dad a dodge dar- i mean maserati
ahem
yes, of course
a Dodgerati
the color matching interior option makes it look less shit on the inside
That steering wheel needs to go
rather go out to my steering wheel
Thunderbird, good?
Problems with Thunderbirds and Marauders is the people who own them think they own something special.
Reality is one is a retro convertible built on the LS, and the other is a Crown Vic with trim pieces and a Lincoln engine.
To pay anything approaching 20k for either is... maybe in another 20 years they'll be worth that.

You can find decent example of the Mercury for under 10k in Alabama.
I wouldn't mind a Lincoln LS tho. I understand that a few of the early models had a manual included.
The V8 was not offered as a manual because the Getrag could not handle the torque produced.
ah... nvm
Problems with Thunderbirds and Marauders is the people who own them think they own something special.
@dense shard I'm aware of the fact that they're rather prosaic
however
just look at the bloody T-bird
it looks fantastic
that long, sweeping back
sells it to me
Be ready to pay the "no low ballers" tax.
Be ready to pay the "no low ballers" tax.
@dense shard you forgot the 'I know what I got' tax
yep
ran when parked
First owner, old lady. Only driven to church. Never driven hard. I know what I have, no low ballers.
The new 2021 Ford F-150 features a new Work Surface system inside to provide a large area where work can be finished.
Ford designed a folding shifter for their lunch table.
They have a rotary shifter which is low profile. They have a column shifter.
Nah, electric folding shifter instead.
Kek
or just do buttons like the other ford cars have now
Items which will break within 5 years:
- Electronic retracting shifter
It's such a stupid idea imo.
Idk I've seen work people do that before
@dense shard want to hear a stupid ford idea
Shifter in a 2007 explorer
Stick shifter
Normal right
Then the put a metal cap on the end
Thats the issue
When its sunny that thing gets hot af
I've eaten in my car numerous times. It beats eating outside in the blazing heat.
Ive eaten in my car too
@stoic ledge the rest is leather
A chicken wrap or two and some ice-cream doesn't hurt
If they just did a plastic cap
But that won't require a literal table
Its the storage bin cover
That's a handy picnic table
@stoic ledge the rest is leather
My parents Peugeot had a similar shifter, top metal, side leather. So extremely hot... And it was a manual too, so you had to touch it
I've used that kind of shifter
In the Renault
It's the same
Never had a problem though
Renaults have a plastic cap no?
Yea that's a pretty sensible idea
Ah depending on the trim apparently it was metal
Or block your front windshield
Yeah my dad did that
With a huge piece of thing people use to get tanned
Butt saver during summer but never used it myself
I do always put a towel over my steeringwheel in the summer, 1 to stop burning my hands and 2 to protect the leather π
Also I changed the battery in the family car today because it was the 8 year old original battery

As in "I changed" I saw that my dad didn't have the right tools
So I went home while he changed it with great difficulty

At least I push started the car
I've never seen a battery that is secured with nuts
Usually with a bolt no?
Which Is why I left him to it as all we had were some wrenches
No the battery is literally secured with an iron bar that is bolted
Though it could be some grounding too
Or it might be that all of the batteries I've seen have been installed improperly and I though that was the norm
Yeah most batteries are secured to the car. It wouldn't be good to have it bounce around.
my manual shifter is leather and fantastic plastic
very much likely not real leather
wouldnt be a issue if it was metal as we usually dont get much warm weather here :^|
just shift like that bus driver from that video
looks like someone got the previous version of the corvette, put it in photoshop, and used the pinch tool on the front
It's kinda boring imo
At least as far as mid engined super cars go.

Wear headphones! The audio ...
that would be so fun
doesnt the c8 not even handle that great?
like it understeers quite a lot more than you would want/expect
they gotta keep it boomer friendly.
you get a c3
if you want a nice corvette experience
which includes being impaled by the steering rack
iirc lots of people have said the C8 drives like shit compared to the C7
I'll imagine that the C7 is a lot more oversteery compared to the C8.
Knowing that C7 has most of its weight on the front.
i like over-steery cars
stability is for those who want to live
time to get a 1st gen mr2
I too like oversteery cars. But they aren't safe for the masses.
Tbh, if I had the money to get myself a newer car. Then this might be on the short list. https://pro.bbcdn.io/95/9580c28e-3ff1-4c11-ae0d-2c09ee4ee16a?rule=legacy-largest&format=.jpg
The C7 design is the classic Corvette design. With the long hood.
Yeah I like that
I'd rather go for the F20/21 generation for the 1 series.
RWD, while it's still available.
The one in the picture is one of few with the big screen option. Instead of the small one, with massive borders.
Same, but they're too narrow for me
I'm hitting the B-pillar with my shoulder (5 door)
And the door panel with my arm (both 3 and 5 door)
