You got a focus?
yes
but I can't get it to switzerland
it's not worth
the car needs repairs
mostly bodywork
65 LPG stations in Switzerland
65 LPG stations in Switzerland
@stoic ledge I have more in my city
LPG in mx-5
it must be my daily driver
Check the list of LPG stations in Switzerland with available LPG prices, mixtures and when was the station last confirmed.
and i just need trunk space
I want a sporty car
and also
they don't sell them in switzerland
there is a mazda mx-5 on sale for 2800chf
bt it's sold as untested
Switzerland is a strange country for cars
and also it's sold by a car repair shop
I can get a focus in good shape for 500 chf
while for my beater i've paid around 1300 euros

i paid 0€ for my beater
Same
@tight cypress lucky you
someone paid 6000 euros for a car that was worth like -1000 euros
literally the engine was ruined beyond saving
I got my car for free, might be upgrading to an 07 though
Got my car for only €7k
had to spend a bunch of money fixing it tho

(like 400$ so far)
pads, rotors, calipers, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, pcv valve, and rear sway bar linkage
oof
lots of fix
lol
I had to replace clutch
and now I have to sell it and buy a new one
because taxes

Rip
I would pay more for import taxes for my car than the car is worth
and also needs a lot of body work
and fixing cars in switzerland is very expensive
If I get the 2007 it needs to be aligned. It's decently low miles and in decent condition
and I can't go to corona land to fix it

270hp + better trans = much faster

A manual is only as competent as the person driving.
A manual is only as competent as the person driving.
I'm the best driver in the world ofcourse

Did you enjoy this video? let me know in the comments section below and make sure to subscribe to my channel, it really helps me. Thank you :)
whats that called a jumper?
One thicc boy
The explorer was like, let me turn off that check engine light
Mpg is 0 as 0 miles were being moved per gallon
that was in 2015, i think it was repaired
mhmm lincoln town car
mmmmm Lincoln
mhmmm
Can someone tell me why?
Like Civic is a good car
But it's so i posibble to find any of them in good shape with stock parts
torbo civic
...
After the odometer got rolled back a few times

After the odometer got rolled back a few times
@fair bronze that's classic Peugeot driver
Maniac!
Yeah that's my temp covid special
right?
Exactly
all 3 idiots showed up with the same car
and it wasn't a jaaag
325i cabriolet
At least it's nothing structual
oof
My fender was eaten away
What car is it
2004 Ford Focus Mk1.5
Ah a Focus
Airbags are capitalist
toyota previa gang
Mid-engine showoff
It's a simple fix
Pull the Fuse out
But srsly
I'm so freaking tall it was the only car that I would fit in
At the price point
You must be gigantic
I'm someting like 193 cm
Ind how much is in the freedom units
I don't do freedom units
But there are people that do
It's 6 ft 4
Be glad
I bearly fit in a Clio
It was hell
I had to drive a renault clio 3 And 2 before
I wanted Honda fit/jazz
That does sound like a terrible experience with your height
But they tend to have problems
All Hondas tend to rust away
At least the pre 2006 ones
Because we used to have harsh winters
And a lot of road salts
That's why you clean it
I'm lucky that my Ford still has a floor
lol
They tend to be one of cars that rusts the most
I see MK lurking in there 👀

Wassup

Still alive

I haven't been here much lately
I've noticed

Haven't seen Tesla boy around
Nope
That's great news
I think he even left LTT
Hybrids in general
Charging an electric car in poland is more expensive than gasoline
Yes
I hate lithium ion batteries
Everything else is bad
Tesla should use molten sodium battery
LS swap all the Teslas
Get a trailer generator

Or even rotary swap
eastman entered the chat
They are bringing a rotary range extender, you know that right?
I've heard some vague stories about that
I think they can be for a specific task/implementation
Imma tell you anyway!

just get a town car
nein
ewwwww
👀
It's peak pre-boomer luxury.
Oversized, under powered, over priced.
It's the ultimate rental.
Reliable tho
If you didn't beat on them too much, sure.
ex-cop cars tended to be beat to hell and back. They didn't take it easy... ever.
Oversized, under powered, over priced.
@dense shard is 2k overpriced?
the two options that I'd choose
for 2k
would be a town car
or a s80
All the more reason to get an Avalon.
Mentally or...?
b o t h
Avalon is the last car a lot of old people buy.
aight
Aight
uh oh uh
Poah
Da's mien merk
@stoic ledge wanna see kaas piston and cylinder?
Sure
cylinder vid inkoming yes
👀
looks fine to me
Something "painful" to watch
The car just looks like it went trough sandpaper wash
And it's difficult to clean
I really just give me car a power wash every week or so.
This car get so dirty
I need something to wash the drit that got stuck on paint
And I live in apartament complex
And I can't wash my car there
My car gets stupid dirty in the winter. Since I'm doing a minimum of 500 km's a week.
Overrated. tbh
https://carsandbids.com/auctions/rxeNlyOj/2005-rolls-royce-phantom
Ofcourse it sold for 69,696
@dusty radish eheh
cant find better for the price at that shop
too late
150e gone
any idea what the old cyl looked like
i mean mercedes kinda did
but i see where ur goin
6 wheels is just better guys
its like having 4 wheels
but
get this
2 MORE SPINNY THINGS
New IS looking nice
Interior looks extremely dated
Standard Lexus.
As long as it's well put together, I'm willing to deal with slightly older tech.
Sure, but it's basically the same as the 2013 interior. Which is unacceptable imho
its interior looks quite nice imo
i think i just like the whole lexus layout though
the ls and lc both are my 2 favourite interiors
that idrive knob feels
there we have it guys
It doesn't look dated to me
IS gets a very nice all around in the ltt discord
I may or may not be your resident Lexus fanboy though
now lets put it on the cool wall
damn there isnt a cool wall
can we get an LTT cool wall please
Rotary gang
get a crown vic
rotary swap crown vic
Get something good.
I mean the crown vic is 1. ugly and 2. slow, but at least it's reliable
wtf is that ugli thing on the left
aren't reiable engines slowish
huh
2UR-GSE
at least the modular v8 doesn't kill itself like a rx8 rotary at 80k
ngl the 2UR-GSE is a goat motor

Those things were made in Canada the last 3 years.
It's more American to buy a Camry or Accord than it is to buy a Town Car.
mmy zetez 1.8 is still going after 300k km
why do you not want someone to experience luxury with crappy mpg?
Because I am experiencing luxury with brilliant MPG>
There is nothing a Town Car can offer me.
the town car will be mine for $4k
and will have that classy floaty land yacht appeal
Yeah... a decade old used car.
I wanna to experience the most raw and analog car as I can
A crown vic isn't classy.
Not even remotely.
A crown vic makes you look trashy, not classy.
it's a floaty land yacht
But I don't like to get motion sick while driving.
I'd just get a s80 for 3k
I'm either getting a 2007 RX 350 to replace my 1999 RX 300, or saving up for a Genesis G70 3.3T
Hell if I want syrupy luxury, I'll buy Falcon's Lexus.
that's my go-to cheap car
the one I might get is in excellent condition and has barely been driven
52k miles in a 2007 ain't bad at all
monte
how will you diss the s80?
The S80?
volvo s80?
It was great in the late 90s.
Well volvo aint known for reliability
but I'd take an S80 over the Crown Vic
I'd take an LS over a Volvo.
I wouldn't.
Lol.
I've spent my entire life sitting in goddamn toyotas
so?
The new LS500h is f**king stunning
I'm sick of them
ok?
so no toyotas for me
They're dead reliable, and the new era of Toyota is a looker.
Lexus has been knocking it out of the park these last couple years with the exception of the LX/GX
unless it's a century
Well LX and GX are last ... no before that decade.
They're dead reliable, and the new era of Toyota is a looker.
@dense shard 'new' era. I'm talking about 4k cheapo cars
Oh shit
the RX 350 is under-rated for power
it's rated at 270hp, but the motor is specced to produce between 295 and 314
Incidentally the motor in the RX 350 I might get is the same one that's in the Evora
lol
2GR-FE
talking of the evora
if I'm lucky I'll be shopping for a winter beater soon.
I saw a wrecked one going for 500
if I'm lucky I'll be shopping for a winter beater soon.
@dense shard panther platform time
for a winter beater, sure.
my car has all the options poggers
except for traction control which is fine by me
It doesn't need it
traction control is for people who want to live
talking of living
how's the 98 viper?
well, I have an all wheel drive SUV with no horsepower
It does pretty well in the snow and i have never broke the tires loose w/o snow
traction control is useless on my car
I might be finding out soon.
If I ever move north.
I'm 100% either getting winter storage for the 'rolla or getting her a garage for the winter.
I am an awful human and still drive my car in the winter
Instead of getting a seperate car for winter
Washington isn't a salt belt state tho?
right lol
Winter beater mainly applies to the Dakotas east.
no kidding
It was insane
30in of snow
Considering most winters we get literally 1 inch
Though my car does surprisingly well in snow
No surprise.
AWD, heavy, grounds clearance.
Maybe I'll try to find myself an RX. lol
I'll get whatever is cheaper... provided this is an issue.
Get the 350, the 330 is a different engine and is a bit less reliable
Might be somewhat difficult to find a cheap one with low miles though
Lots of them have ridiculous miles because they're fantastic commuter cars
I could swing a highway Lexus.
I'm seeing RX 350s for 7k-ish with 150k miles
Found one at 6k with 200k highway miles
Optioned out RX 350 2008
The first gen is cheaper but less polished
not a concern.
As long as it is mechanically sound.
But that's counting chickens before they hatch.
lol, g'night
Goodnight
👀
Saw a dark green Lexus LS400 yesterday. Was a damn nice looking car.
Me speedometer broke
Dude that's just not nice
@fathom socket good outfit yh
lul
I would probably still know what speed I was going, simply from using RPM and gear.
You know what? The VW ID.3 is probably to go-to EV car.
Sigh Tesla fanboys denying the panel gaps, paint issues, and calling road and track “a bunch of idiots”

Actually somewhat tempted to get a ID.3
It sounds like a solid EV.
Matt Farah talked about how real premium brands are different to Chery/Tesla, etc.
TL;DR - People like Porsche do a lot more QC.
Then they talk to the people who make the parts, and they get it fixed ASAP.
You know what? The VW ID.3 is probably to go-to EV car.
@civic spoke if they can ever sell it
What do you mean? Because of the whole Diesel scandal?
Dieselgate is a big reason why VW is pushing so hard towards EV now.
No, their software issue
With them all sitting in the lot, not being able to fix them
Haven't heard about that.
It was already going on in 2019
Built ID.3 which can't be sold yet due to software problems
nice
That's a big F.
i wonder what the actual problem is
No idea.
it might be to do with the fact its suppposed ot be able to update like teslas do
Would still be a great car, if they get that software thing sorted.
yeah i cant wait to see them on the road
I'd honestly be tempted to get it as a daily for my commute.
if i could even hope to afford one id probably get one
It mentions that we get three years of free charging. Which is big.
Also mentioned one year, which is also nice.
thats pretty gosh darn nice
apparently 150 employees are getting one as the final stage of testing so its almost close
What I would pay for the ID.3 each month would probably be what I currently pay in fuel.
Fuel+Congestion charges.
Since I do 500 km a week.
More or less.
I guess the insurance would be a thing to pay.
wouldnt you already be paying that though?
Yeah, I would.
I just wonder how many miles I would put on an ID.3 in something like three years.
I guess 25,000~30,000 km's a year?
i mean with free electricity you could go around the world if the infrastructure allowed it
yeah seems doable
you'd definitely end up saving quite a bit of money by driving 90km without paying for fuel
Insurance be like "wtf you drive that much a year for?"
I would probably take it road tripping as well. At least within reasonable distances.
that AR heads up display looks cool but idk how it will actualyl be
The ID.3 doesn't look to bad on paper, but it's also not a major leap forward like VW made it seem on forehand... Kia/Hyundai has basically the exact same performance for the same price
Friend of mine has ordered a 1st Edition tho
He has no delivery date yet... Better yet, nothing is final yet
Mid July his order will be finalized for a 1st One edition, which should be one of the first ID.3's
ince
Yeah
guess he gonna feel that big range increase though
Battery size nearly doubles as well
Definitely lol
Funny thing tho: he also has a Rav4 diesel
yay the ol rav 4
i wonder if they allowed the older e up to get the newer batteries for a fee
i doubt it but it sounds like a nice thing to do
As far as I know, they don't

yay
I'm gonna to have to sell my car to junkyard for 2 cents
a perfectly working good car
but I wanna to eat it
Why
yes why
noone is gonna to buy a car with 300k km on it
and also
it's because of the stereotype that cars with 300k km thay are no good
Hello, do anybody in this group has hands on Evo ?
OH YES GIVE ME MORE
if anyone knows this, i was wanting to get an 80s car, but that being pre 1996 i was wondering if there would still be a way to use any electronic engine diagnostic tools
If the car actually has electronic fuel injection, then yes. You will need a fancy backwards compatible OBD2 code reader that can interface with the special adapter they used back then. @frail shore
If it has mechanical fuel injection or is carbureted, you will have zero computer diagnostics. At best you'll have a few basic warning lights that tell you practically nothing
Some cars had some weird built in code reader.
Which required black magic to access, read, and then understand.
My car was built in 1997. I have an OBD2 port, but it does basically nothing because I don't really have an ECU. Honestly working on old cars really isn't hard, you probably won't need electronic diagnostics anyways. Other than maybe a multimeter.
What car in particular were you looking at getting?
oh so its a 1986 Nissan 300ZX, i couldnt find an owners manual that wasnt a virus so i couldnt find out exactly the electronic systems in it
but i did find that there was an obd port of some sort in the car you can use to get a morse code readout if you do some wiring stuff with it
from this dude https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3emVvat9bE
Check engine light. Check engine light on and how to fix it in an older car DIY with Scotty Kilmer. Pre 1996 code reader. How to fix an older car with the check engine light on. DIY car repair with Scotty Kilmer, an auto mechanic for the last 44 years.
⬇️Scotty’s Top DIY Tool...
mainly because when inspecting cars before you buy them you want to make sure they wont have a major issue and all that but thats not really an ideal way
oh also only reason im looking at this car specifically, is it has that retro 80s design, was one of the fastest production cars in the 80s, and its stereo system looks pretty cool
Rev up your quakery!
oh apparently Nissans had some weird trick to reading codes from what I hear.
yeah you shove a paper clip in 2 connectors and it reads out in morse code
Just yeet the electronics and convert to carb
Repair guides, articles and advice for car owners, enthusiasts and repair technicians.
dunno about paperclips
yea, if its OBD1 you should just need an ODB1 reader
I vote for carb swap
XenonZcar.com - Z31 ECU Diagnostics and how to read the ECU codes
btw, there's the Z31 trouble code guide
i figure that the owners manual will probably also have them
as i said i tried to find it but everywhere just seemed to be a virus
normal owners manuals are basic info on maintaining and operating the vehicle
9 times out of 10 they don't tell you shit about fixing them
that is true
i was thinking about getting a 96-97 model because i could diagnose it easier
and 9 times out of 10, average Joe isn't reading OBD codes for his Honda Civic
i was thinking about getting a 96-97 model because i could diagnose it easier
@frail shore Z32?
the same model but a later year
wot
no, the 300zx went into a second generation at the turn of the decade
Z31 is the 84-89
Z32 is the 90-whenever it ended
its a completely different car
the only thing similar is they both used the VG30. But the Z31 had a single cam version while the Z32 had a double cam version. Z31 turbo also only was single turbo, but the Z32 turbo was twin turbo
listen im not like getting into the mechanical specifics im just going off what is the cheapest option
neither is going to be a real cheap option tbh
and will need about the same in parts
Z32 will cost more upfront but will hopefully need less work
oh yeah im aware of the parts and stuff that will need service
What are you looking for in a car here?
i wasnt going on a specific year since there is a few i like but it will depend on availability at the time
track car, street cruiser?
i mean as my first car
i wanted just something from the 80s that is cheap and is sporty (in looks mainly)
i mean i wanted something older to get experience working on cars
chances are you won't be able to afford parts and maintenance and will be forced into getting a trashed one that could be moments away from an expensive repair
with the car only being 3k i could be able to afford the parts with a minimum wage car
ye, get like a 2002 something that doesn't run. Fix it and daily it until you have the money to spare for a secondary project car
A civic that cranks but doesn't start, perfect for first car that needs work
dat stereo that most likely won't work
when I got my RX-7, it had a replacement radio
it didn't work at all
and the radio was from the 90s
the one thing i hate is when they take out the original stereo and put metallic trash in its place
🤔
that stereo right there sells for like 300~ dollars
because everyone throws it out and now its worth alot
its worth $300 even if it doesn't work?
hold on ill check the listing i saw
that radio doesn't even look that great lmao
eh youd have to be into the vintage stereos to like it
I'd rather update it to something from the late 90s
oh god 90s stereos are ugly
retro look and feel with better quality and actual functionality
wot
I have a 90s stereo in my RX-7
this is a walkman from the 90s
heres one from the 80s
bruh
the 90s bubble look just looks terrible IMO
those are portable cassettes, not car stereos lmao
a car with a leaky fart can can be classified as a shart can
you arent going to tell me this is good looking
That's not that bad
ok ngl that does look like hot garbage
even if it did work
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0ps5Pm4Mvo thats the stereo im gunning for tho
Very rare Kenwood KRC-999 II hybrid component from 1988. I was finally able to find one of these after searching for 3 years I think there is only a dozen left in the world as Kenwood only made a 100 to began with. (((Just listed))) One of my krc-959's https://www.yorbin....
btw, if you get any old car. The owner's manual is practically useless. You want shop manuals
note taken
I have the owner's manual for my car, beyond basic info on how to operate the car, it doesn't have a lot of great info. What in-depth info it has, is expanded upon in the shop manuals
and shop manuals will actually tell you things like: what error codes mean, what to do if something doesn't work, how to replace things, etc
owners manuals do give useful info like how much and what type of fluids they need
that's about it
but if you have a shop manual, it tells you the same thing and more
i mean i guess when i come to getting a car ill look more into it
tbh, I would get something carbureted if I were you
80s fuel injection was designed by people on crack
i mean basically everyone in the 80s was snorting cocaine
carbs are really simple
its all mechanical and/or vacuum controlled. Easy to diagnose
You can use smoke to find vacuum leaks, carbs are pretty easy to deal with
honestly i was looking at the turbo version of the car too
Yea, I would avoid a Z31 turbo
80s turbo cars are big yikes
if you get a 80s turbo car, you basically want to rebuild the entire turbo system day one
and modernize it completely
ive actually looked them up and people are always talking about how these cars are durable
not sure how true it is but thats what im seeing online
don't take the word of internet people. For all you know they are diehard fanbois and OCD maintain their car
which if you OCD maintain anything, it can be called reliable
but if you run into something neglected and abused, even if its a car known for being reliable and strong, its going to have tons of issues
yeah i mainly when looking at cars online look for if its listed as running well
ill probably wind up getting a 90s model so i can diagnose them with an OBD scanner
Getting an old car that will last more than a few thousand miles is 100% pure luck
especially at a good price
I would just get something like a 90s Corolla. It'll be old and broken enough you can learn how to fix it, but it'll still be reliable enough to be a daily driver and be a good first car.
There's nothing wrong with getting an 80s sports car, especially if that's what you are into.
But I HIGHLY recommend you avoid doing so for your first car
even as your only car later on, don't do it
trust me
honestly i hear you and head that advice but
id rather get a car that needs a bit of work that i will like than get something that runs and despise the car the whole time i own it
I get that
but I do speak from personal experience here
right when you need it most, poof, you're stranded
I can also tell you how much fun it is to have your engine shut off at 75mph on the highway
when im looking at cars ill first ask if they have maintenance history for the car and see what it has had done, mileage, gotta look at all that
You have to do more than that. People can lie, especially if they don't have papers
well yeah you cant take someones word
Even if they have papers, what if there's a gap? or the last record is from 20 years ago?
they will try to say anything to sell the car
You have to check things yourself
i mean yeah ive been scammed before (not like really badly) but i know how people are
if they won't let you investigate, walk away
like if you ever buy a rotary car, if you can't perform or witness a compression test
turn away immediately
honestly i dont think ill have to worry about a rotary engine anytime soon
Yea, I'm just saying. That kind of thing applies to really any car
dont get a first gen rx if you want it to never ever break
I've had to do lots of maitenence on my car
lol
"no no no no don't touch it... it's uhhhh... you'll hurt it's feelings."
lmaoo
ive watched probably a million videos on car maintenance, repair, restoration, cosmetic work, interior work, i think i know atleast basically what to do with cars at this point
when my parents were shopping for Explorers, one dealer wouldn't let them get in in the car
not everything obv but enough to start
"can I test drive it?"
"what, why would you want to do that"
lol yeah
huh? thats the most obv "Im trying to hide how hideous the cars insides are" ive ever heard
the previous owner of the RX-7 was oblivious as fuck when it came to actual important mechanical stuff. But he was honest and up front
in hindsight, if it hadn't been at a dealership for service, I could have been totally screwed over
i think like nobody at my school actually maintains their cars
my brother told me that a girl didnt know she needed to replace her engine oil, and also didnt know how
I even broke first rule of buying rotary and didn't get compression numbers 😂
All I had to go buy was the dealer tech's word that he tested it and it came back good
I got super lucky
i can say ive done something similar
i wanted to buy a tape off ebay and i didnt even check the other pictures or description
But I can say every issue I've had has been in some way caused by me
i mean though you dont learn if you dont screw up
except the pulsating brakes
the dealership that serviced the brakes in the early 2000s left one of the screws off
I still haven't ordered a replacement
the leaky brakes and clutch was also not my fault, as well as the present oil leak
ok side note - that was something I was really surprised about on my RX when I did the brake job
but the fuel pump issues were 100% partially my fault
nah, that's normal
It's actually weird to have something that requires screws
unless you go back far enough
like my RX-7
you need both screws on the brake drum to align it
missing one or both and the pedal will pulsate because the drum acts out of round
missing both screws and the drum will actually move around and clank
oh shid, its getting late. Night bois
night
Can somebody reccoment me a car that is cheap and reliable beside zetec 1.8 and 2.0 fords
They are too expensive
And also
I don't need vtec
Or vvt
for me the problem also is
I need the car to be as maintenance free as it can be
a price range would be nice
up to 2000 chf
eeem
👌
oh
they tend to be expensive there
Freedom Ain't free
I saw an edsel for sale
I was like
WTF
btw
american people say that yogo was a bad car
perodua nippa
and this car was one of better cars in poland
out car were so bad
immagine buying a flathead engine in 1980's
that isn't a landmower
buy a brand new car
that's broken from factory
wait
that's how edsel ended up being like
but it was sabotage
I've been in a focus most of my life
I have driven a renault clio and yaris
the first gen yaris and the hybrid one
my mom has a first gen yaris
but it's too small for me
fiat panda was goopd for my size
but the car har crap suspention and tiny engine
laurel because ricer bodykit
Subie got less mileage tho
15k more
Depending on the currency that's a lot or nearly nothing
I mean a Kia Optima here costs like $350k around there
cheap GT?
Damn that's good
Oh god... the turd based on a failure.
A car that marketed itself to an audience that was literally dying out... based on the Lincoln LS, the abject failure.
That's a cruiser at best. GT only for those with replaced hips.
thoughts on a 351w swapped fc3s?
it didn’t have a rotary in it, and I already had the motor
Haven’t swapped it yet, building money for parts
yeah.
I mean... it would be a weird flex.
I would have kept the rotary, but not only did it not have the wiring harnesses, transmission, or motor but I couldn’t find any within 4 hours of me
That's fair.
plus, I’ve got a freshly rebuilt 351 Windsor out of a freshly wrecked bronco.
it’s got about ~$3000 in it
so yeah
Once again. Chances are you aren't gonna make any friends with this move.
lol
Half the people where I live don’t even know what a rotary motor is
Personally it sounds fun. It's not an FD, FC has no engine, no way to get an engine, and you have a preexisting motor.
that's him.
C33 laurel
@radiant parrot this is good
I got the car fairly cheap too, just was really hard to transport
The last two owners were going to put a Chevy 350 in it and use it as a drag car
@fathom socket what do you want to do with the car?
No no no, what activities will you perform with the car, regardless of how it's setup
oh
Drifting, drag, track, etc
street use, with potential drag racing/track use
In that case, there are better chassis for you than the FC
another reason for the motor is parts for it are e v e r y w h e r e
I mean, I would assume so
but I’ve always had an attatchment to the fc
The RX-7 is a lightweight sports car built for handling and designed with the rotary in mind.
Yeah.
FCs make good track cars, but aren't very good on the strip
And putting a heavy V8 up front negates a lot of the benefits the chassis has
It won’t always be a drag car
I looked at the weights, and considering a lot of the weight it will be gaining roughly 200 pounds
from the factory model, however
most of that is in the front
Personally, I would either put a rotary back in it or swap a 4 cylinder in instead of a V8
I like the rotary, just really really hard to come upon where I am
That 200 pounds you gain will throw off the weight distribution more than you think
plus, I already had the motor
It's going to be quite tail happy, especially with all that extra power and torque
Not ideal for a track car
Yeah
the 351 I’m using only has about 200-300 hp, which is still if I remember a fair amount more than the rotary
and the torque is probably in excess too
That's roughly 80-180 more horsepower
figured.
And the torque is going to be in different places on the power curve
So you will have no traction in corners because you have torque low down and make more power
You'd need to engineer a way to fit wider tires
I planned on larger tires
Which is just not worth it
the main making fo this car was for street use/ car shows
No, I mean like much wider tires
I don’t think they would need to be that much wider
It would only be getting the occasional run down the drag strip, maybe a track visit every now and again
You do realize that a stock FC is hard to break loose on stock tires, right? Now double the power and torque
Yeah.
You'd need like 245 minimum to have some semblance of traction
And idk if you could even fit tires that wide without extensive mods
On the street, a front heavy FC is going to suck imho. The added power you won't be able to use, and the lack of traction could be dangerous
Fox Bodies are heavier
And are designed with the heavier engine in mind, so weight distribution isn't shit
I know a guy who's putting a 2L ecotec turbo in his FC. Much better swap imo
I guess
Less additional weight, better balance of power
I’ll probably still stick with the v8 though, and just work through the issues as I go
He'll be able to rip on the street without breaking laws
Yeah
where I live, nobody really cares much about anything but speeding
We have no noise regulation OR emissions tests
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My friend has an old c10 with open headers, and nobody could care less.
he’s even been pulled over in it, no complaints
You can do whatever you want, but I'd advise against putting the V8 in an FC for a number of reasons
Yeah.
I’ll keep your information with me, and look into ways to circumvent that stuff
you’d be surprised
Loud exhaust is fucking trash
