I would personally keep the MX-5 as a project car. I see zero sense in dailying it if you're going to keep the Peugeot. I'd just ditch the Peugeot if you want to daily an MX-5, or just replace the Peugeot outright with a better daily

I bought it for 1200 at the time, its worth little to nothing now, needs a new headgasket, thermostat housing could do with a replace to the new metal one, engine head needs machining, frame is slightly bent, rusting sills which I've been trying to slow down for some time.4
