Lol 100k miles on a set of plugs
The Toyota manual says spark plugs go 120k miles
That's true. You also get the sound of power
Mine were worn but were okay when we swapped them out in my car
Still made it faster tho
Noticeably
And it doesn't short shift when you floor it anymore
I'll have you know my spark plugs are fine
Mine are 20k miles old so probably fine? xD
@stoic ledge Depends on type. If you have copper plugs, they'll probs fail around 30k miles
Uhm idk which one, but LPG has a weird effect on them so they wear out faster
I change them every other year
ah
I'd just get copper plugs if you can
cheaper that way
the good plugs cost more and if you're killing them faster there's no reason to waste cash
oh, i see
Smaller or larger? I think smaller (0.7mm)
nice
It's got a differential and everything.
I built a LEGO GT3 RS but my cats destroyed it lol
yes

@hearty siren Exige (Series 3)
Thank you
They hold their value tho
I like the evora wym
they wont cheat on you
@autumn talon Yeah but they might break on you tho ๐
dunno... Teslas have cheated on their owners in the past.
Also according to Musk the FSD package will be worth 100k when it is finally released.
So it will be worth about 200% of the car's value.
And just because you say your car is an appreciating asset doesn't make it true.
A big thing about full self driving, is that in order for me to actually use it.
Then Tesla would have to take any kind of liability in case of an accident.
That and in order for you to use it it needs to actually be fully released and be approved by the government.
Lotus are built very cheaply for what they are
like, fairly certain Miatas have better build quality
Does anyone know if the auto start/stop function on new Fords kill the starter?
My gasoline engine is turning off at stop lights
I think that the starter might die faster than normal, but should still last at least 100k miles before it dies
if it is a hybrid car, you don't need to worry about the starter at all (because there is no traditional starter)
@woeful marsh is your car a hybrid?
Not a hybrid its gas
No it won't kill the starter.
Automakers tend to design the car with stop/start in mind. So the starter should be beefier and able to take the extra load.
http://prntscr.com/slclu7 let's see how fast it goes on a top gear track
beamng drive is one of my favourite games to use my racing wheel on
the graphics aren't the best but the crash physics make up for it
its just so fun smashing 2 trucks head on
I play beam with wheel for grip racing
I create cars in automation, export them, and then compare lap times
i cant really afford automation, well i have enough money too but i don't think its the best use of my money
i have g920
but without the extra shifter i use the paddle shifters on the whell
wheel*
This is what my excel spreadsheet is looking like rn. so far its just homebrew lore race cars
which track do you use?
the Chloe Cup is hands down one of my best creations
a mod or the hirochi race track thingy
I have lots of modded tracks
oh ok
i didnt see that
The Crown Chloe Cup is the yellow car on the right
The grey one on the left is the Concordia Exunaugh Cup
oh cool
Thats a screenshot from automation
they don't look as pretty in Beam ๐
but they drive pretty well
the Chloe handles very well
I actually had to buff all the other Cup cars because the Chloe was too fast and I didn't want to nerf it
You can even see where it was basically the fastest car in Cup racing
yeah
The Daimura Nomarui Cup isn't the fastest, but I really like how it looks
Ah yes, another favorite of mine.
Left is the 1969 Pega Wyvern SS
right is the 2020 Pega Wyvern Concept
the original Wyvern SS is another great creation
Its got like 400hp out of an 8L V8, and makes 600lb-ft of torque
and its supercharged
I don't remember what I gave the 2020 Concept
found more pics of the Exunaugh Cup
Modern Supercar mashup
though I'm pretty sure that pic is old
I know I made some major design changes to the red and white cars

bruh
@autumn talon Yeah but they might break on you tho ๐
@young aurora lol
Any JDM/Wangan Midnight fans here? We've just created a new server, and would love to see it grow! DM me if you want to join, I can't post the invite here without my post getting censored for some reason.
I think wangan midnight is more of a meme, kinda a crappy show.
I was damn close to being t-boned by PostNord just now.
I think wangan midnight is more of a meme, kinda a crappy show.
@civic girder wouldn't really agree w/ that. Why do you think so?
That moment when you don't know the name of a part and you need to find a way to ask the person at AutoZone
@crisp jolt I feel. I'll ask them, and then they give me a weird look cause they have no idea wtf I'm talking about
@gray kestrel its kind of like a bootleg Initial D with even less character development and the entire show revolves around a psychological draw to speeding on the highway at night. The characters always seemed half baked at best
@civic girder Wangan Midnight is more about the cars than the characters. I never liked comparing it to Initial D(I really like both); Initial D is more about characters and technique, while Wangan is more about the tuning, and the cars themselves. Two completely different, but great, car racing animes.
I never got any inkling of Wangan being about the cars
It might help if I take a photo
I was always confused about what was the purpose of the show
I never got any inkling of Wangan being about the cars
Exactly how many episodes have you watched? One?
Uh, I watched like the first half of the show and a few videos of clips from the show from after that point
Got bored cause it seemed pointless
There never seemed to be any end goal
The first half isn't exactly the best, especially ep 7. I'll agree w/ that. But as you progress from ep 10 onwards, it's a stellar show
Idk, I didn't think it was very good at all
Watching clips from ep 20+ didn't give me a reason to go back
There never seemed to be any end goal
That's because tuning is by nature never ending. There'll always be something that isn't fixed, something that needs to be revised. Clips don't show the entire story IMO
A story with no end goal is pointless and boring lmao
The end goal of wangan, at least IMHO, is about getting the car/s to run at their best
That's what the finale talked abt
Like, I saw a 10-15 minute video combining clips from varying episodes regarding the FC. Shit was boring as fuck.
"I want this FC because nostalgia boner and unexplainable emotions" was what I got from that
That proves my point of clips not showing the whole story
To understand why Kijima wanted the FC, you'd have to follow the story
Also, have you ever noticed how much plot armor initial D has? When has Takumi ever lost?
The clips showed scenes that talked about how it was a car that he helped tune in the past or whatever
But it still didn't really make sense
To understand why Kijima wanted the FC, you'd have to follow the story
^^
I guess there's something I missed in the filler not shown in clips
Definitely
See the difference between Initial D and Wangan is that Initial D has energy and character development. Watching Wangan makes me want to fall asleep, but watching Initial D is like riding a hype train
I won't deny that Takumi has hella plot armor
At least you're not that initial D fanboy
Akio loses multiple times over the series
He wins only through his own skill, unlike Takumi
Takumi is a mixture of skill and plot armor
Also, the fact that Wangan was actually a real thing makes it interesting
Like the Mid Night Club actually existed in real life, and they drove JDM tuners down the tokyo bayshore route at 200 mph
Touge drifting was a real thing as well
Afaik, all the mountains in Initial D are real, just with different names
Idk if there was rly a very famous ae86 tho
Probably not
While the Z and Blackbird actually existed
But ae86 were popular drift cars back in the late 80s
Now they're just expensive cause of what some people call 'Takumi tax'
Fd yes
FC not so much
There are some cheap FCs here and there
Not very common
But they exist
FC not as much yes, because it didn't have a huge role in Initial D and in the grand scheme Initial D is not mainstream compared to fast and furious
Cheap FDs though, are a different story....
Yea
But FCs are still usually $5k USD minimum for decent ones
Cheaper than that and they're probably fucked 7 days from Sunday
FB RX-7 on the otherhand, cheap af for a car in good shape
Not to mention that FB production numbers overpower FC and FD production numbers combined
There were like some 400k FBs made, with 85% of them sold in the US
FCs didn't even reach 200k iirc, and FDs barely broke 60k
no replacement for displacement
@devout atlas where's my 8L hemi
actually
that's a bentley thing
WO bentley
said it
and as I'm a proper bentley fan
I say that
yuo will get a 6 and 3/4 V8 instead
tfw no 8L hemi exists
I'd rather machine a balance an 8L rotary
I can't hear you over the 19 cowhides used in this car's interior
or was it 18?
i forgot
XD
Lovely car.
Which using prexisting Mazda shit, would be approx a 16 rotor engine
But probably terrible to own after warranty.
@civic spoke warranty for these died in the early 2010s
if you actually wanna daily an arnage,
you need a more recent one
the early 1998-2000 cars had rubbish 4.4 liter Bmw engines
the early 6.75l powerplants have camshaft and other misc problems after 60k miles
the 2006+ models
are the best
but tend to be 30k-70k
Actually went "The fuck..." when I read the engine options for the Bentayga
look
being a proper bentley aficionado, I can safely say that the Arnage and the Brooklands
were the last true Bentleys
even the azure
to some extent
yes
the bentayga doesn't have the 'correct' powerplant
You can get the W12 tho. ๐
the w12 is a Volkswagen powerplant
it's not the OG 6 and three quarters V8
that 4.5k redline
mmhm
I can feel the trees dying whenever someone drives an arnage
i'm buyinga bloody arnage after graduation
(within 6 years, relaistically)
and I'm gonna bloody daily it
and no bloke will stop me
No one but your wallet can stop you.
Here you go. Baller Spec Arnage.
I wouldn't touch any Bentley with a 10 foot pole.
I'm that someone else
tbh
the arnage shouldn't jave a bad rep
it's perfectly reliable
fora british coachbuilt car
*for a
So it's not great by any other standard.
If I had to go for an old British car...
I'd probably just LS swap a 2 door Bentley.
Strip out the electrical, and go from there.

The car industry is constantly innovating brilliant new ideas. But for every good invention, thereโs an equally bad one. This is a list of car inv...
oh freaking Bosch suspension. Of course they had to include that.
Bentley > Rolls Royce
change my mind
What about the Bose suspension?
Oh, it's there.
They actually didn't show the Lexus jump. That's illegal.
bentleys are better than rolls
no doubt
anyone who disagrees is either:
i. a dubai guy who just bought a phantom
ii. a fanboy
Man. The new Phantom is so damn nice looking.
they killed the mulsanne
so bentley
basically killed
the 'big 4 door yacht'
so technically
the phantom is the only thing
:/
sucks
right?
To be fair. Mulsanne wasn't really relevant when it came out.
It was a car for a market niche that was literally dying out.
Land yachts still exist at any rate.
Bentley/Lincoln Continental, Toyota Century, Rolls Royce whatever it's called.
remember the brooklands?
Only Bentley I legit wanted.
nah, that market was 100% dying out.
as I'll be able to drive my dad around
2 door cars overall are dying.
that's a big f
yeah bentleys are better. Rolls are heinously ugly, and make you seem like a prick
^^
when i'm oout of college
the 2011 mulsannes
will be as cheap
as teh 2008 arnages
the mulsanne is a Volkswagen, however
and the arnage
is less so
It's still German electrical.
We review on the 2020 BMW 840i Coupe to discuss the good and bad of a car with a nearly 100k price tag. The market of 100k coupes is small however, there are some crazy examples like the Jaguar F Type, Porsche 911, Lexus LC500, and Mercedes AMG. There is tech, carbon and a BMW...
Savage Geese hates the 840i.
8 series actually looks better in person.
I probably wouldn't mind the 840i. I'm a sucker for inline 6 engines.
Man. I wished you could get more BMW's with a manual.
So few model/engines that have the manual option.
The new 8 series look nice and I see lots of them but I kind of wonder why bmw made it
Carry over diesels, M-series... and that's it.
I imagine Toyota has more manual options at this point in time.
For the 3 series wagon, then you can only get a manual with the 320d.
Same with the sedan. Oof.
Oh, wait. I was wrong. It wasn't the 320d. It was the 318d.
So 150 hp, instead of the 190 you get in the 320d ๐ฆ
G80 did away with manuals.
Only reason the diesels have manuals is apparently the engines are carryovers from last generation.
BMW has become lame.
what a shame
Then I'd probably just get a V60 T6/T8 or whatever, just as fast or even faster, less expensive by a lot and maybe even better looking

But more reliable?
It's not like BMW is the most reliable brand in the world
I don't think Volvo is less reliable
I want a 6 cylinder manual. ๐ฆ
good enough imo
Are there actually any 6-cyl manual still for sale?
Toyota Tacoma

Mustang, Camaro.
the 4 banger in the g70 is pretty anemic tbh
We get none of those xD
0-60 in under 7 seconds?
Mustang only 4 or 8 cyl, no Camaro, no Tacoma
Anything under 10 seconds in most cars is adequate.
Why would you buy a sport sedan with only like 200hp tho
may as well buy a more mundane car for less money
Because I want a luxury car with a manual.
Don't they still sell an accord manual?
And the 2.0T makes 250 horsepower.
The Accord isn't luxury.
And apparently it has some quality and dynamic issues.
It's fast by virtue of good tires, not good tuning.
if you're talking like a high end storied brand, neither is Genesis
Btw, sounds like the next Stinger will likely be electric
I think I'd take a G70 over the Accord.
Once you have experienced a higher tier of car, then you start to nag about all the stuff you are missing once you go back down a tier or two.
Lexus LS is better in every way.
I've never really driven a higher tier of car so I still am okay driving our Taurus and stuff
Arnage is no sports sedan
@dense shard better than a Twin turbo 6.75 liter v8?
Neither does it have a manual
I heard luxury
yes
Is it a diesel
6.5k
I mean, I can make due with a Ford Focus. But something like my E46 is so much more refined.
I think not?
It swills gas, has last gen tech in it, and isn't built in Japan.
That's bad.
the biggest problem with it is that it will run you to bankruptcy court trying to keep it running
and nayway
I know it does, but that's an entirely different type of engine
The Bentley uses a Chrysler engine.
the lexus will outlast you
That's hardly heritage.
by 2006 most of the engine was rebuilt anyway
And it used to use a GM Hydramatic transmission.
It's meant to provide smooth trust, no sudden hit of acceleration
Both are downright generic.
@dense shard tghe transmission in the old arnages
is gm
yes
teh engine
is british doe
Based on a Chrysler I recall.
lexus cars last damn near forever so that's a certain advantage ๐
it's not chrsyler
I'd take a new LS over a whole hell of a lot of other cars
One of the big thing that's nicer with luxury cars is the reduced noise when driving down the freeway.
^^ even my old RX is fairly quiet on the highway
obviously not up to brand new luxury car levels but it's decently quiet
Cheaper cars are so damn loud when going 100 km/h.
and my RX has the CdA of a barn
It's not Truck-bad. But still pretty bad.
Happily my Corolla is fairly quiet.
our explorer was quite loud but that was beacuse if the absolutely garbage tires it had
now that its got better tires its much quieter
yeah all the noise I get is tire noise
i think iut's cool that ANC is startign to make its way into new cars
that'll make it impressively silent
ugh I hate ANC
why?
noise cancelling headphones already cause headaches for me.
Bose and Sony so far.
It puts this weird pressure on my eardrums.
Hard to explain it, but it's like a pressure change.
I want to try the Surface headphones
they look really nice, and have good ANC from what I understand
and good sound
Also ANC does often bring with it... piped in engine noises.
that seems counterproductive
I'm willing to give it a shot, but I just wish all this stuff had an off button.
piping in noise when you put a bunch of tech to shut it all out ๐ค
People want exhaust noise, not road/wind noise.
They want sports noises without the inconvenience that brings.
yep
meanwhile my car is terminally mute.
I get induction noise, but that's really about it.
oh shit the Accord has ANC
I want to replace the door rubber seal for my driver side door.
i still need to order the parts for my brakes, car has been sitting for like a week now lol
It was a bit torn when I bought it. So I get a bit of wind noise driving on the freeway. It probably happened when the previous owner opened the door when it was frozen stuck.
I should do my brakes as well.
Especially the parking brakes.
my front drivers side caliper locked up
so we're going to do the two front calipers, pads and rotors all around
~200$
I should check what the price is for me.
That's a big fat nope for me.
Would be easy enough to get the bulk of it off. But the paper residue would be pain.
and this is why you get a car with proper door handles
instead of having a spot shit like that can happen
or spiders crawling up in side

@dense shard
I assembled tht one yesterday
you too?
I guess so, with the instruction booklet lying around
@patent cosmos what the fuck was that image
if that happened to your car iโd suggest power washing the door
at a lower psi
I'd suggest setting it on fire ๐
That's just one of examples on how people find their cars after they were self isolating. Nature does not sit around ๐ฑ @terse stone I didn't want to be the only one to be cursed with the knowledge that this is a possibility
oof
Hell yir. Monster garage is coming back in 2020. Hoping for a new game too.
Hey guys can someone tell me where is tow haul light is on the cluster it's a 2005 Ford excursion 6.0L powerstroke? Plz
Somebody did this while I was shopping :/
It's a underrated sports car and some people want to damage it grr
Yeah :p
It's a pretty fast one that can do 160mph to 180mph
But I feel bad for a small damage
I supposedly maxed out at 160.
Yeah
I imagine it needed a very very long stretch of road to get there.
Did 120mph on the highway one time xd
It was sketchy
Damn it I wanted the whole car to have a nice silver paint now it has it's first scratch and dents on the bumper :/
That's called wear and tear.
My Hyundai Tucson 2005 has no scratches at 410.433 miles :p
I already have a couple of rock chips at 6k.
:c
part of life
I just remembered the Mitsubishi eclipse cross exists my day is ruined
I'd rather buy the Eclipse Cross.
It isn't that bad, but there are much better choices to make.
Eclipse Cross is bigger and more expensive ;)
You can get the Eclipse Cross for less, an HR-V is better.
๐
A Nissan Kicks is a size down, but far nicer.
Why did they have to call it the eclipse? It would be like ford making a SUV stealing the name from the mustang...
you mean the Mustang Mach E?
Yes
Name recognition is a thing.
That is true but they should have done a chevette/corvette type thing
Mitsubishi doesn't have a Corvette nameplate to play on.
Eclipse Cross is nearly twice as expensive as the EcoSport here
~20 vs 23K

Before you start threatening them with going elsewhere.
I'm sure Mitsubishi will go lower than Ford.
And I'll take the built in Japan car over the built in India car any day of the week.
I'd rather get a hatch, I really don't like the design language of SUV's
Tbh I'd get an Outlander over the Eclipse Cross, base price 3k less and it's a PHEV
Although I won't get a SUV, true xD
Or CUV or whatever
I mean... I ended up with a Toyota hatchback in the end.
I have a venza now, so my broken Volvo is going to the scrap heap
Hatchbacks are nice
not this argument again.
No, it's not it's not up on it's tippy toes like cuv's are. If you want to be specific, it's a Camry hatch
According to reviewers and the EPA... it's a crossover.
According to Toyota... it's a car/station wagon/not SUV.
How would you classify the Lexus RX?
Well so so is the Venza, basically the same
yay for having an og crossover
Theย Toyota Venzaย is a five-passengerย mid-sizeย crossover SUVย
Wikipedia ๐
I talking about the 2013(my model)
Keep reading MK.
It's way too big for a hatchback
I have a (broken) '99 RX
The bit where Toyota very much would like you to think it's just a Station Wagon.
But the profile is no way near a wagon
It's between a wagon and a hatch, too small for a hatch
Profile is similar to a wagon tbh.
Too big for a hatch
A raised wagon for sure.
Too small for a wagon
But at what point does a raised wagon become a crossover?
Venza = 5 series GT

OG Forester was a raised wagon... then it became a crossover after a point.
It's a gray area, yes, but it's not a hatchback nor a wagon
Venza is either a wagon or a crossover.
I get Toyota's point of view.
But... it's kind of not a wagon. It's a bit too... uhhhhh tall.
The seating position implies crossover or van.
Since it's too short for a wagon, and tall, and related to the RX, I say it's a CUV
You can have very short wagons.
is the GTC4 lusso a wagon ๐ค
Hell the Civic Shuttle was a wagon. No longer than the Sedan I believe.
Ehh, the too tall order can be solved by a pair of coilovers
not really
*argument
The body shape is tall.
Compare the RAV4 to a Corolla wagon.
Venza takes more after the RAV4.
Sure you can have shorter wagons, but just all proportions

True, even if it is a CUV, it doesn't have the god-awful design language of one
g70 wagon when
I'd argue that proportions don't help the case.
hey don't bag on the lexus rx
Cause then we get into the raised wagon bullshit like the Audi Allroad or Mercedes whatever they call theirs.
I agree it looks better than most CUV's, but it's still a CUV
lexus rx is
Real question is... what is the Honda Crosstour... besides ahead of its time.
Hideous
I think it looks quite good in person.
Never seen one
No, no
And remember. They did it first before BMW and Mercedes did it.
But yeah I'd probably say it's a cross-over....
And unlike the X6 and GLwhatever. The Accord doesn't look grotesque.
X5 > X6, GLE > GLE Coupe...
Well they call it a Coupe
Coupe means 2 doors.
oh that gle coupe is absolutely hideous
You can bullshit the definition all you want, but coupes in popular culture mean 2 doors.
one of the only """coupe""" suvs that looks any good is the cayenne "coupe" (hardly any different from the normal cayenne)
The Honda Crosstour (initially branded the Accord Crosstour) is a mid-size wagon manufactured by Japanese automaker Honda.

The Crosstour was a competitor to the Toyota Venza, a wagon based upon the Accord's perennial competitor, the Camry. And like the Venza, which was meant to replace the Camry wagon, the Crosstour did the same to the Accord wagon.
The Acura TSX wagon.
the model s isn't a wagon, wym
TSX in the US amusingly.
(I know EU Accord == TSX)
the model s isn't a wagon, wym
Probably because it has a large hatch + is long
Hold on. If a venza is a CUV because it's tall, what is the scion xb?
xD was still a hatchback.
Why does a venza being tall make it a CUV but not for the xb?
Why does a venza being tall make it a CUV but not for the xb?
Raised ground clearance
shame Scion died
shame Scion died
Just rebadged other market Toyota's (except tC)
It lives on in the C-HR and Corolla HB.
You step up into a Venza.
@dense shard
No? You don't
The xB is a subcompact.
The Venza is much much taller than the previous Camry wagon.
It's also taller than the same gen Camry itself
So was the forester (gen 1+2) to the Impreza but they are both wagons
Generally a wagon is literally just the sedan with a big ass.
Front end same as sedan, and stuff changes aft of the b-pillar.
Generally a wagon is literally just the sedan with a big ass.
Or hatchback ๐
The Venza and the Crosstour for that matter are all unique.
or hatchback. Tho those are sedan minus the ass.
Basically yes
But I digress. Same applies to hatchbacks.
Doesn't make the crosstour any less ugly
Not that bad looking.
No, it looks like an accord got crossed with an Aztec with it's plastic everywhere
I don't agree.
Subaru and GM had plastic cladding that looked pretty bad.
So does Audi.
Look at how high up it wheels it is
This... the plastic doesn't hold true tbh.
Definitely a CUV
I haven't seen one with painted plastic before. That looks possible
Not possible, it was sold this way.
Meant to say passible
And it was offered in AWD.
Many CUVs are actually FWD
Yes, but the AWD option does allow it to go minor off road duty.
Which is why a lot of people aren't willing to call the Nissan Kicks or the Toyota CH-R a crossover.
(even if both likely offer AWD in Japan.)
For some reason the Kicks isn't in the EU
Good cheap starter car.
New Juke looks alright.
Nissan juke was meant to replace the s chassis. I hate that car more than Richard Hammond does
Good cheap starter car.
Imagine being able to privetly buy a new carEspecially as a starter
Hell, people even claimed I was an idiot when I bought the Corsa (4 years old), the car was waaaay to expensive (and I was certain to wreck it).
well idiocy or not... you haven't wrecked it?
The kicks almost looks like a Peugeot to me
It's vaguely based on a Renault I imagine.
well idiocy or not... you haven't wrecked it?
No I haven't, somebody did drive in the back on a roundabout
Dream car of mine Renault Fuego Turbo
Well there's your idiot right there, MK.
That somebody who drove into you.
I swear I can English.
It's vaguely based on a Renault I imagine.
Kinda yeah, Micra platform, same as Renault Clio, same as Renault Captur (Clio CUV)
and the Versa.
Well there's your idiot right there, MK.
Well i didn'tAnd that guy would have crashed in to me even if I didn't have a too expensive Corsa xD
and the Versa.
Versa == Micra Sedan, yes
Well i didn't
And that guy would have crashed in to me even if I didn't have a too expensive Corsa xD
Want to see dashcam video?
It's nothing special
Just me honking + BAM

That's because it's actually a Micra
The new Versa is acceptable.
Honestly you'll be hard pressed to find something actually "horrible" on sale in the US market.
If you're not proud to drive it then it's just a tool imo
ah you had to yield for the scooter?
No, the scooter didn't have right of way, but still took it... To avoid crashing in to it, I had to brake, which resulted in the Mercedes from the right crashing in to me
95% of people buy cars as a tool.
And that's fine, but then a car is a car so buy cheap, efficient and reliable
Be it a Mercedes or a Nissan.
And the other 4% that claim to care never buy new anyway.
But you don't buy a Merc purely as a tool
I don't think that's a thing here
There it is
Haven't spoken to anyone that leases, people finance because then you have a car at the end, good for another 20 years or so
Am in the OZ
I thought if I was gonna be boring I'd get a good color
People have taken luxury car makers to court because they're not accepting lease returns right now unless the customer signs a new lease.
Nearly every new car is a lease here (company car) or bought by old retired people
Leasing is super common in the US.
That's sad man
Most people don't care about cars.
Bought my car fresh off a lease
Cars are bought purely on tax incentives
Yeah, but if you do, may as well buy something pretty and interesting
A person won't buy a Mercedes because it is good. People buy it because they want the status that goes with a badge.
No Nissan Versa
I got a Corolla.
Hmmmmmmmm
Pretty and interesting.
Which Corolla?
Not the Opel one for sure.
Seeeeee
The only good Corolla color combination
Those look cool, I'd like one
Gotta have that green on white.
Europe doesn't get the light interior
That's lame.
Lucky no front plate
But Europe does get the 2.0 Hybrid.
Yeah
Yeah we're blessed down here in the South. No plates is good shit.
Not the fastest or coolest car in the world but they're efficient and reliable and they actually made some effort to make a modern and interesting design
And you drive?
you have a Mi Mix 3?
Yes
I've got a 2017 WRX
Buy it
the slide mechanism seems so satisfying
Pls no CVT WRX
Pretty boiler plate 'I bought a modern sports car'
I wanted something a bit more... luxurious.
It's good, they are cheap now
It's a manual
i have a 7T Pro 5G McLaren right now
And durable down the road.
Lol
Good a manual
I would get one just to play with it
Yeah, 30,000kms for 10k below brand new price
slide back and forth xD
Manuals are superior, Am I right falcon
Not anymore sadly/happily.
I'd like a manual car
I feel, new motors seem reliable so far tbh, but I'll be changing rods and pistons at some point anyway so I'm not stressing too much about it doing 200k unopened
Rumors are pretty serious carbon build up.
Since the new WRX hasn't gotten the dual injection system.
the legend is back!
This week we lab mom test the 2020 Toyota GR Supra #Toyota #Supra #AndietheLab

Anti-theft device :Pogey:
Did your dog even fit in the trunk?
I cannot imagine a lab fitting in a Supra trunk.
I must watch this video now.
Already seen your Supra video
and I should edit and upload a new video myself.
I have only one issue with my Corolla.
Horrific buffeting with the rear windows down.
๐
Like... there's this weird pressure wave that just destroys me each time I try.
My rear windows can't even open, so mines perfect there
lol
As in just the rear windows?
yes
My sister's Malibu has the same buffeting issue
Yeah I've never had sedan that didn't do that, but I very rarely need to just open the rear windows
downside of modern car design.
Apparently the Supra also has buffeting.
I was excited that they were coming out as I was buying a new car, then I saw the price
Ooof
What do we think of the wing on the rocket bunny wide body (might be the other brand I'm not sure)
Price is pretty on point for what to expect out of the new Supra.
It's not unreasonable
Only โฌ84k
Higher than I expected for a toyota branded car that isn't a landy, and with less utility
Iirc it's actually even cheaper than the Mk4 when you factor in inflation
Sports cars aren't mean to be utilitarian.
Cars can be both, but yeah
Forester sti
Compromised then.
This thing works on a 2004 pickup truck so why 2007 ?
Idk ask the manufacturer xD
Fast + utilitarian? Get a Zafira OPC

Mini van + 2.0 Turbo 6spd manual
How about the AMG minivan
R AMG?
How was it?
It was a mercedes minivan.
Very fancy minivan tho
If I wanted to carry stuff I'd buy a ute, if I wanted to carry people I'd buy a forester
Or a Ford S-Max, had the 2.5 5-cyl Volvo Turbo
But I'm a little salty on opel following the most recent commodore
Or a V70R
But I'm a little salty on opel following the most recent commodore
Don't be salty on Opel, be salty at GM :)
GM damn near killed every division they had... or did.
That too, owning an early V6 commodore killed my faith in the idea of a parts bin car
You know what they say about general motors Europe, their the general motors of europe
GM damn near killed every division they had... or did.
Opel loosing money for Europe 20 years long, under PSA back at Profit within 1.5 year ๐
They've more or less left Europe after they sold Opel.
There are no GM cars sold officially in Europe now
not even Cadillac?
Good, one loss continent that has to deal with that God awful company
Speaking of which. US is 100% getting a spicy Toyota hatchback.
Likely gonna be the Corolla GR.
not even Cadillac?
I don't think so, let me check
Holden was their road in here and it's looking like they'll be phasing out completely over the next few years
Cadillac Hasn't registered any car this year or last year, so I don't think so
Currently (2020), General Motors's European operations are conducted by Cadillac Europe GmbH
So basically luxury or Corvette.
Have prices for GM cars gone up by 30%?
In the US?
Nah, Europe
Modern American car-errrr trucks aren't cheap.
When they announced Holden was packing in all of them got more expensive overnight
Cadillac website is still a thing, but they haven't sold any in ๐ณ๐ฑ
yay dealer markup
See, even if you are high(I mean Dutch) they aren't good
an MPV Mercedes has never been very popular.
Don't think any GM Opel is still sold in Europe besides the Insignia, but GM actual has to pay Opel to sell those as a Buick/Holden so GM is discontinued them/will to (Opel will still sell it)
Didn't help it was kind of not as good as a Honda or Toyota.
Lol never been high in my life
Haven't checked dealers actually, just mean second hand, now that they definitely definitely won't be making more supercharged 6.2L luxury sedans
yeah but it sounds good
second hand, lol
And a 500hp minivan is cool
You just naturally are if you are Dutch
"i know what I got, no low ballers"
๐ค
Ran when parked
I mean... if we're going by stereotypes.
Don't waste my time
Oh no, you need to be high MK.
Falcon definitely
pfffft
High + drunk
uses judo skillz
Wait... isn't Falcon in a state where weed is legal? ๐ค
Since I'm from Illinois I need to sell a Senate seat
Idk what states are
It's legal where I am
yes its legal here
Oof
we were one of the two inital states to legalize it
Cool Dad states

Some stickers
I mean I could be ultra pretentious and get a save the manuals sticker.
oh snap
Only took me 4 years
That's useful.
Come do that to my jeep
Lol
Good old Jeep electronics
I did it on mine since it was basically plug and play
Carbon fiber print shift boot
Now retrofit radar cruise control.
So fly by wire car with the modules and stuff just not plugged in?
Opel decided it could not be done on a 2012 Bi-Fuel
But it's basically possible on every Corsa, every engine
Only depends on the preparation, you need an extra wire from the steering column to the Body Control Module and a clutch switch (mine had both, but you can also add both)
okay that's one of the cooler things I've found.
Because it was just so powerful that they couldn't develop a program delicate enough not to accelerate to 150 when it goes uphill
I can shift my car while on cruise control.
The thing was, cruise control always came with fuel consumption meter etc, which isn't possible on the Bi-Fuel version so they decided it couldn't be done
Because it was just so powerful that they couldn't develop a program delicate enough not to accelerate to 150 when it goes uphill
Strange stipulation to require
I can shift my car while on cruise control.
That's on most modern cars, no? My parents Meriva does that too (2012 as well)
Mine doesn't since the platform is from 2006
My old contour did not. It would drop out of cruise control if I pushed the clutch in.
My WRX legitimately will speed up like 5km/h up a hill because it uses more throttle to regain speed and then when boost hits it's too slow to back off
... Sounds like lazy Subaru programming.
The thing was, If the trim did come with cruise control as standard (it was optional on my trim), they did deliver it with cruise control and they did remove the fuel consumption meter LOL
"Should we account for boost... naaaaahhhhhh"
Well they even sell overboost as a feature
BOOST
What will die first. The EJ25 or the Queen of England?
But it was explained to me that the boost controller is basically inadequite and will just allow the boost creep
They're both about the same age.
Which is coming when?
Late this year apparently
Cause I've been hearing of a new WRX next year for years.
That fair
And it damn well better not be a refresh like the last one wash.
Or the one before that.
They did make a lot of small changes that were helpful, but yeah no new model
That's kind of why I passed over the WRX in my car search. That and price.
I get ya, like I said I bought second hand and basically got 25% off the brand new price
I was looking at new.
Boiled down to Mazda 3, Honda Civic, or Toyota Corolla.
Mazda 3 was... blah.
You do you man, I don't personally see the value in a brand new vs 2 year old car
Because the new Corolla was only a few months old at the time.
Civic would have been my second choice
And I'd have spent 20k vs. 23k.
We never bought a brand new car ever
