Why aren't they given ear protection?
lol
Oh nice a skyline
SHO, the poor man's M5.
I'm just sad Ford never followed up on it
I'm glad they didnt f**k it up with an Ecosport SHO or some stupid shit like that
it never became a trim level for anything besides the Taurus
which I'm glad about
Purist would argue they did fuck it up by not going with a Yamaha engine again.
No arguing there, but it isn't a "true SHO"
It lacks that sweet sweet Yamaha engine.
ok fine, but at the very least there's not an edge sho, ecosport sho, escape sho, etc etc etc
it stayed the "fast taurus"
yeah
ST doesn't sound as cool
@dense shard used M5s are getting down there in price, like 22k and below
But relatively
Still a good amount
Of money
The last generation I'd consider would be the E60 M5.
The newer ones have some serious reliability issues.
It beats the turbo issues the F20 brought along.
And at least the V10 was interesting.
what, electrical gremlins, rod bearings, smg pump issues, vanos sensors, throttle bodies, valve seals
what else?
dont get me wrong I love the E60 M5, but damn is it expensive to maintain
Electrical gremlins are universal as are the various sensors.
Now add massive heat, turbo coking issues, and apparently valve guide seals with the turbo V8s.
thats an oof
That issue isn't exclusive to BMW. All modern turbos often have issues dealing with the heat output.
https://www.reddit.com/r/fordfusion/comments/gdduj4/change_your_nuts_lugnuts_that_is_or_you_can_be_in/ Looks like I know what i'm changing out
Why the actual fuck was this even an idea
tf
We got an F20 M5 for 22k
my lug nuts suck but they're not that bad
mine you just have to get them on right or they're really really really easy to crossthread or not hook up properlty
I'm getting some 696's soon anyways
ha, Elon Musk is actually selling his house.
He's not okay.
If he shaves his head and starts wearing snazzy jumpsuits, I'm calling a shrink on him.
hes lost his mind
As long as he doesn't go all Heaven's Gate... he'll be fine.
@normal temple wtf is that? Is that a spark plug as an oil drain bolt?
fuck yeah
smh
oh god
Nice
@stoic ledge come buy one of my kaas's
yes u need
π
This will go one of two ways
I'm going to plasti dip the alloys as the previous owner loved rubbing curbes for some reason
Made this Video in celebration of toyota finally coming around to more racing games specifically Forza But ffs get your cars in nfs heat already Lmao

@hexed arrow plasti dip sucks, do yourself a favour and use paint
more work but it's definitely worth it
plasti dip fades and looks like garbage pretty quickly
get some sandpaper, cheap self-etching primer, and decent paint
you can use single stage paint but I prefer using a base and then a clear
oh no
My bluetooth speaker
:ohno:
Ohyes
Miata looks so damn small next to that crown vic.
That's because it is
Someone should Photoshop a BMW M8 racecar in there lmao
It'd be half again the size of Neighbor
i like it
I like modern Lexus
i like all lexus π
Lexus LM, best Lexus
Fresh paint after having been fucking vandalized
I know that feel...
It was raining and in the middle of the night some crackheads poured comet all over my front end. Clear coat was gone and the paint oxidized
It's fresh now though.
I need new headlight assemblies, too. These are a little crusty.
nice
That's an Impala?
I got myself a pressure washer and foamer, works great π
This is what I got, cheap and works well
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HC898GM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'll check it out, thanks.
I don't think I have access to a spigot where I'm at, though, which sucks.
I might have to jury rig some pump setup lmao
I don't like taking my car to automatic car washes
Yeah, I took mine to a handwashed placed, sometimes they would do a really good job, sometimes they wouldn't π€·ββοΈ
Thing has a lot of balls for what is literally just a full size family sedan. Although the nameplate does seem to have a sleeper reputation.
The 96 SS π©
Pretty sure.
I saw one a block up from my place being worked on at a local shop. Was nearly drooling. Absolute beast.
2017 Fusion
2017 MKZ
Why is Ford like this lol
I would argue the Fusion is cleaner lines
Not as busy
Man... Most american cars still got crappy infotainment systems... Ford Fusion looks more clean though
Nice headlights on the MKZ but the Fusion has a more defined shape.
Those would probably look class
I'm also almost done deleting chrome
I'm holding off on buying new wheels until my tires are near needing to be replaced, so i'm buying the black inserts for me wheels
tryna find a photo lol
That'll look nice
I really want new wheels to get rid of the steelies and caps.
The double spoke alloys for this would look famtastic. Get the gapping JUST right.
Are those the stock wheels?
Yeah
Yeah those are solid, actually.
This is the insert
I know one guy with them but on a different style
Put around 10k miles and they still are held on fine for plastic retension
That's good.
That's a link...
Have you considered painting or plastidipping?
I have, but I can easily remove these if I sell the wheels
and only costs like $20 more
https://i.redd.it/hoxy2znjwyw41.jpg This is some dedication. Guy wrapped his roof box.
its just finding where the fuck the harness is lol
I'm actually probably going to get an old XJ that's been beat to shit for hauling and shit
swap it to JK axles
hauling basic shit, not real towing
Should be more than good enough I understand.
do some crawling and mudding
I just want to get a roof rack for my car.
I'd probably end up driving the Jeep more than my Fusion
Maybe buy dat sweet TRD airbox
I considered getting one, but with what i'd put on it, I would need 4wd
Though I have driven my car through a field
The fusion's trunk is fucking massive
It's like 5ft deep
I have plastidipped my grille though
Horrors from Baltimore driving
Not long before i'll need new rotors and pads
Also, never buy energi's
Garbage
oh tires are not going to be OEM.
Meanwhile the proxes 4 plus can take an awd launch from the 2.7tt without warming them up
I'm not paying that much for those.
I wish I would have gotten a sport
I'm gonna want either something quieter or stickier.
AWD and ~350hp
It can literally run against 5.0's
and beat them
as a fucking family car
my bad, 320. From Livernois
As it should.
almost 400ft lbs of torque
Fuck that makes me so mad I bought this damn thing. I never bought for speed though
Apparently the Fusion Sport wasn't much in the corners from what I've heard.
horrendous in corners
that bad?
I test drove one bc why not and took a cloverleaf at 50
oh no
I was terrified at its lack of control
the back end wanted to come out so bad, but didnt
that sounds a bit scary
Same
Got a wheel brush specifically to get at the inside of my wheels.
best investment I made in a while.
A cloverleaf at 50Mph or KMh? 50Mph would be... Pretty high... lmao
What's wrong with the Energi? @silk finch
just bad tires
Ah
Ok fair
My grandpa's RX had some garbo eco tires on it
You could chirp them in an AWD car w/o even a hard launch
He has better tires now. Lol .
I'm not great about remembering to do that
more specifically, when I get in the car to start it
so, in my car that existed before cars made you press the clutch to start, I lurch forward or backwards as I crank because my dumbass forgot to put in neutral
@unique cliff every time π
@civic girder why not always use the clutch when starting?
@stoic ledge new car maybe soon yes
which one
nussan primera
Nice
How is that car related π€
Do bees actually like the Honda Jazz?
only the yellow ones

@fair bronze bΓΆrbΓΆrbΓΆr butbutbut
Loud kÀÀs
Loud exhausts always annoyed me.
Loud exhausts that are just made to be as loud as possible are annoying imo
Power is the only thing that makes it worthwile
loudpipessavelives
if you can't see it, you'll hear it and know something is coming
Problem is your stuff so loud you can't hear the ambulance coming up behind you.
Also if someone is so distracted they don't care to see you, they won't care to hear you.
Nah. I can get that idea, but I find modern bikes to be loud enough to be heard. Open exhaust is mostly a nuisance imo.
I'm talking about cars, yeah most bikes are loud enough
If there's blind corners or hills or something though where people can't see you having a loud exhaust can be a safety feature
Lol
accurate
@stoic ledge why press the clutch if I don't have to?
@civic girder to prevent it from jumping forwards when it's in gear xD
or just not put it in gear when parked
problem solved
if I pressed clutch to start, then I'd still forget its in gear and let off clutch after starting
But not parking in gear means using the hand brake/parking brake/e-brake... Which is bad in the winter or when standing still for a longer period of time π
Frozen handbrakes are fun

I'll just sit here and idle till it decides to let go or yank and risk breaking the cable/something else

Electronic brakes use the same system as a manual one... Just a servo pulling a cable instead of you π
Also, servo can get stuck after sitting for a while

So im thinking of trying to find an old bently or rolls-royce to restore. can someone give me an estimated price range?
The cars themselves arent so pricy, but the parts, oh ma god
oh. just looking for a restoration project. i found one on a site thats made for buying and selling classic cars, and its 3500, and needs a new paint joband tires. not sure about the engine, yet.
better hope the suspension is also good

its cheap and looks like it just needs tires and a paint job
maybe an interior restore
Oh and seals, bearings, and bushings.
It's always good when an ad has 1 picture, no description etc
@stoic ledge
π§
https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1344379/1977-rolls-royce-silver-shadow-ii-for-sale-in-miami-florida-33150 found another. Better condition, and 12000 usd
what are thoughts?
why do u want an rolls royce
I think it would be nice. Also they look nice, especially the older ones. and i also want to start restoring old cars.
That looks like it's actually in running/driving/acceptable condition
Might be rough to own...
But hell... if you are handy with a wrench and good with electrical, could be fun to own as well.
Modern times means you could theoretically cast/3d print any missing bushings, seals, or buy new bearings.
If there ever was a time to own an old finnicky exotic/luxo barge... now is the time. lol
@dense shard Toyota

The 2020 Toyota C-HR is a weird, quirky hatchbacky crossover thing. Today I'm reviewing the Toyota C-HR, and I'm going to show you around the Toyota C-HR. I'm also going to drive the C-HR and show you what the C-HR is like on the road.
WEBSITE & MERCH!
http://www.dougdemuro.c...
Eastman is gonna have a conniption lol
@civic girder are you? π
Only issue that thing has is it lacks the new Corolla 2.0 engine
Actually yes. I agree.
I do like that color tho.
Toyota's been knocking it out of the park color wise.
always has - looks at my RX and its ...unique... colour
It's a very 90s color.
I mean we could laugh at all the brown cars of the 70s.
... okay I won't go on from laughing there. But the weird plum/bronze of the 90s?
That's aesthetic.
I value that most highly.
I feel we lost some of that with modern automotive choices. Everyone is going for crossovers designed to be appealing to everyone and no one.
Still. Move to LEDs for lighting seems to be opening up possibilities again for actual style. Nissan, Honda, and Toyota are getting nifty on style again. Germans apart from Audi seem trapped by corporate styling language. Korea is pushing the styling as well. New Sonata looks like it is straight out of a car show concept from a decade ago. I can appreciate that.
the sonata is cool
it's not strictly nice looking but its striking. it's a car that's not going to be remembered in the future, so they don't really need to make it classically beautiful or whatever
I reserve "nice" for crossovers. They're nice. But they're not seizing my heart.
Germans apart from Audi seem trapped by corporate styling language.
Wait what? It's Audi who all look exactly the same
Yes, but to me, Audi has entered the 2020s.
audi has a design language, but it's interesting
BMW is stuck with their kidney grills, and Mercedes... blah
Actually I'd argue Mercedes looks more alike than even Audi products.
3er and 5er are nice looking cars
Yeah MB C/E/S all look the same
the 7er grilles are just ridiculously large
But they aren't exactly making me do double takes.
i don't mind the X7 grille
7er is not bad irl
Sonata gets a second look from me.
I've seen them irl here, maybe it was just cause black grille on white car, but it looked massive
the sonata is interesting
I think it looks fantastic.
Big white sedans look odd in general
the new 4er grille is crazy
It's the only cohesive modern sedan that actually looks like 2020.
i4 is still no production version
Honda is extremely disjointed on styling. Toyota's Camry is actually generic once you take away the few swoops... but new Camry soon.
I'll hold off on judging Honda and Toyota too harshly.
They're due for new midsize models soon.
Camry isn't that old yet is it?
It's up there in age.
2017?
Maybe a refresh seen
It's certainly due for a refshreh at the very least.
afaik they said that grille is coming to the 4er
Make the vents real, and I'm down with that design tbh.
Remove all hints of kidney to make it look less buck toothed.
hmmmmm... so refresh of the camry.
eh, either way I'm not massively impressed with Toyota, but their efforts beat Honda's.
They should make a Camry wagon like in the 90s
hell yeah
Looks pretty good
Thought it looks familiar.
Still, would buy
holy!
i like the new 4 series
It's a bit much imo
Researcher discovers that old Tesla media control units are full of owner's private data even after a factory reset https://t.co/YLiNIMdwZ9
of course it is
Why does this not surprise me whatsoever
thank god my jap shit box doesnt have a damn ipad
Thank god my car doesnt even have an ecu
Tbh it has nothing thats digital. Not a single microchip.
so badly photoshoped xD
you can still see the real exhaust lol
and the spoiler...
the honda logo isn't shaded too
@patent cosmos Do you know where that vid originates?
Electrical engineering.
Nice
If anyone is wondering. I "improved" the grounding.
Both of my cars have computers. Only difference is that one car has EFI and touch screen audio/climate and the other only needs the computer for interpreting button inputs and input from like 2 sensors
Question - What could make the battery light go off. But only when you rev it to beyond 5,500 rpm?
Serpentine belt/Tensioner?
Alternator? Too high of a voltage at high rpm?
I have replaced the voltage regulator in the alternator.
I'll probably just replace the belt, pulleys, and tensioner either way.
Good thing to replace on an almost 20-year old car.
π€
I have no idea what that means
(Broodje) Bapao = meat bun ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakpau )
Broodje warm vlees = hot meat bun
It has literally nothing to do with this channel... But ok xD

Anybody saw the latest knuckle busters?
@stoic ledge It was a big Touring Harley. Imagine something Hells Angel's might ride. ||(because he's apart of it).||
Have heard numbers that $100,000 has been spent on it.
Damn
@dense shard that looks very interesting π
And 32-36k USD is an appealing price tbh π
It looks like it will cost like me $100 to change out the belt, pulley, and tensioner for my car.
@stoic ledge broodje bakpao en een groene Opel manta
@civic spoke for that price you're changing it yourself, right?
Yeah, I am.
Shouldn't really take too long. I have already been at the alternator before. So I already know what I need to get at to remove the belt, etc.
Hey guys what do you think of the 2020 wrx sti ?
Looks pretty alright.
Cuz i need a powerful awd car
Why do you need one? @fathom socket
uhhhh WRX STi is a bit... old
Why not get a used Focus RS?
More power, more fast.
I imagine you can get a Golf R for a reasonable price.
That's what I imagine as well.
Focus RS would have a similar (?) build quality to the WRX STI. And the Golf R would be a notch above both.
Focus RS is going to be uncomfortable
modern Ford interiors are awful
idk if I'd trust a Golf R to be more reliable than a WRX
Nippon
The ford interiors aren't that bad
I don't even know what the guy wants out of a car.
Other than "Power and AWD"
But I guess the budget is around $35~40k.
idk, besides trucks, I haven't sat in a Ford from the last 15 years that I thought was comfortable or had even a decent interior
cars

From what I've heard, VW interiors aren't so much a notch above as a full leap up.
Subaru's interiors tend to be utilitarian, and in the case of the WRX... a couple of generations out of step with the rest of the product lines.
STi will be reliable... should be since that engine has been around since the Bush administration... literally.
i have like 1000hp how much does your car have?
come now
It's not the horsepower it's the torque that matters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xphzk8Rr9L0 @stoic ledge So here we have a reason as to why the Xpeng is cheaper. They haven't taken the time or effort to shrink, optimize, or package their car.

And it has 3 coolant reservoirs filled with mountain dew. π€
@dense shard it's not that bad, is it?
I mean yes, they lost some storage onder the hood and it they organized that properly, it would add probably just enough space for the charging cable.
It has a sloping hood, but from aerodynamic standpoint that's great, so couldn't really blame them for that
The trunk itself is pretty large, especially with the underfloor storage. Too bad the side pockets don't have some kind of netting to the side to keep stuff in place.
The only thing that kinda bothers me is the rear headrest, fixed + lacking a center one
Trying to copy Tesla... π
Overall I don't think they did that horrible of a job tbh
Itsuki later: I have an 86! Everyone else: Bruh
I'll probably just replace the belt for the AC, not bother about the pulley/tensioner.
$120 for all the stuff. Including shipping. Eh. I guess that's alright.
So $120 shipped for main drive belt, pulley, tensioner. And a belt for the AC.
Can't afford a dream car but you can get one of these
Maybe if you stopped spending money on models. smh
And computer parts xD
Shame that I don't have RGB lighting just plain but oh well
I'm not sure why I have a small motherboard in a big PC case
dis aint cars
dw, I have a PC with too much shit in a too small case
ATX board in a case that technically supports ATX, full dual tower CPU heatsink that doesn't fit per case specifications (but side panel still goes on), dual blower style GPUs that both run at 75C, and not enough air flow cause the case was $50
also, here is car
car
yes'nt

yeah i saw that
tesla should 100% be fined
heavily
for allowing that to leave the factory
"it happens to all cars"

I have been extremely lucky that in all the years I've been driving it hasn't happened to me once
π€ never seen a steeringwheel come loose
I've seen it in a couple of rally videos.
Well > rally, that's different. Also different steeringwheels
it's absolutely ridiculous that the steering wheel fell off on a brand new car
yeah
You can't expect too much of a 60k car
the wheel should be on a splined shaft and held on with a nut
the wheel never falls off of my 23 year old VW, Tesla build quality must be terrible
no, steering wheels falling off is downright ridiculous.
thank goodness the guy was going slow
imagine what could have happened if he was on the highway
its the exact same attachment mechanism that theyve used since the start
yeah, that shouldn't have made it out of the factory
it could easily have happened after it left the factory to be fair
...how?
if the steering wheel fell off, the bolt was not torqued correctly or something was defective
magic i dont know i dont make the mechanism
i wonder if the bolt loosened over time or he was steering by the grooves/connectors for like a month
It shouldn't matter.
Every single bit I can find on steering wheel removals has you remove a torqued bolt AND then you need a puller since the steering wheel tends to be stuck on the steering shaft quite tightly.
If that tweet is serious, that's honestly horrifying.
βTesla confirmed that the steering wheel was not fixed to the body of the car with a bolt, and they are looking into what happened on production,β Tuatara said. βThe Driving and Cecile standards agency here in the UK is also doing a full investigation.β

"the steering wheel isn't supposed to fall off"
it happens on all kind of cars though
It doesn't.
And when it does automakers tend to do pretty serious investigations, and they'll then do a recall.
Ford had a pretty massive recall over it.
Difference is Tesla fans seem to defend this shit. A Ford/Honda/Toyota forum or subreddit would be pretty up in arms with calls for "take it to the dealership" or "this is bullshit, Ford should replace your shit."
Hell... Minor issues with delivery of cars tends to get people riled up in other subreddits. "This isn't supposed to happen" vs "This is normal."
ford had at least up to 140 occurences in the same model over like 4 years and didnt do anything for about 4 years
they also sat on the internal investigation for a few years
im not saying a wheel falling off is normal but its a bit far fetched to go full ahead hate tesla engineering bad after a single occurence
so in what like a year ford found 137 occurences so itd be even higher than that
Questionable findings but they did investigate the matter.
And no one here is dissing Tesla engineering.
What is worrying is the trend of defenders saying this is normal.
It isn't.
And it only highlights a history of poor QC on the part of Tesla.
i think what they are trying to say is its not just tesla that suffers from qc
This includes bad paint jobs, badly aligned trim, poorly installed body panels, and now apparently badly installed seats on the Model Y.
People come down hard on QC issues with other automakers.
Tesla fans seem more invested in condemning the people bringing up their issues rather than helping hold Tesla accountable.
Seriously. Tesla engineering is quite amazing. Apparently the Model Y has achieved some cool metal casting stuff that's pretty exotic.
But at that price point, people should expect better.
i suppose the issue in this instance is the guy is on twitter
wut
which is always a shitstorm
you'll always get a billion comments from both sides arguing for eternity no matter what it is
From what I've seen. People are far less forgiving of other brands.
And a steering wheel falling off on a Toyota would prompt even Toyota fans to question Toyota.
tesla fans are just different from normal automotive fans
theyre techies and all that
We're invested in shilling Toyota durability/reliability... it makes us look bad when Toyota drops the ball. So we hold Toyota to a standard.
Tesla fans seem to be invested in seeing no wrong, hearing no wrong.
You can love a product and still be critical of it.
tesla fans are a little more open to forgiving the company than most
A little?
Some people would go to say it's cultish.
GM vs. Chevy vs. Ford trucks doesn't even come close to this.
but the people that hate on tesla also have a similar ferocity
Yes, that much in undeniable.
so its kinda ying yang from what i see
Tesla haters are just as annoying if not worse.
Since they just cause the fans to dig in more regardless of context or logic.
looking at tesla on twitter is about as depressing as uk politics on twitter if not more
context? Amusingly I follow almost no automotive stuff on twitter.
It's all linked to one of 4 automotive sites anyway, so I don't need 15 accounts linking Jalopnik's rehash of RCR 2 weeks later.
twitter automotive discussions are 98% people who dont know anything and jump on whatever conclusion they like
1% people that are just trying to stoke the fire
final 1% are people that know stuff and are trying to douse the inferno with facts
unfortunately the facts are easily lost in the deluge
pretty much
We review The RAV4 TRD Off-Road SUV. We discuss the details of why this exists and who should buy this. We talk about the technical parts, good, bad, and why you would consider this among other products like the Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Tucson, Honda CRV, Mazda CX5, and Toyota Fo...

They've watered down TRD.
nice
i mean its near perfection
me every day of quarantine when I don't have something to do
Noice
uhh tf is in inglish
uh uh uh
dis hard to explain
@stoic ledge you know when engin blows up yes
basically that but with heat
still works but no power at all
put it on too hard
luckily
itβs plasti dip
so it comes off
other side is coming out much better though
You're clearcoating the badges/the area around it?
itβs still plasti dip, itβll peel right off
the black is recolohring it
recolouring*
Ah so you're just spraying it on there and then pull it off the bodywork itself where you don't want it
I see now
yeah
the right side is coming out much better, gonna have to redo the left
luckily i did a good job of covering the car with tape so no over spray

Looking good
Really maches the paint color too
yeee
iβm redoing all the chrome in this
little bit by little so i have something to do during quarantine
I got's the plastidip, but i don't know how well it'll work on the vw logo so i didn't do it
but how do you remove the bits from holes of the "B" without ruining it
so when you pressure wash it after the finished article is done does it come off easily too?
im tempted to give it a shot now
go for it, itβs removable
so if it doesnβt come out how you want, you can redo it or scrap it
If you are lazy. There's a fairly good chance your automaker sells a blackout kit for badges/emblems.
Especially/specifically for newer cars.
SatRadio has very good marketing and retention departments.
And many people don't know spotify is a thing that exists.
I let my trial expire... now I'm getting a letter every month or so asking me for money.
-"Sir you can listen to whatever music you want"
"spotify"
-"But you can listen to talk radio or things that interest you"
"Yeah I got this great podcast series I'm following on spotify"
-"and you can take with you on the go with our app"
"uhhhhhhh.... okay wow?"
I told em to stop calling me, and I'll let them know when I'm ready to go for their stuff again.
It's stopped.
I don't want satradio.
It's inferior in everyway to spotify.
Might try the NPR One app.
apparently that's one of like... 3 apps Toyota EnTurd 3.0 supports.
I don't have android auto.
I got my car a year before it was implemented.
bluetooth is fine.
It's a huge step up from before.
That being said I do wish I had a CD player in my car.
hmmmm... a bit pricey, but it is recharge-able, and USB C.
hey guys does an automatic transmission have to use an external cooler or not?
Most modern cars have a transmission cooler. Most are integrated into the radiator like Nanikore said.
Sports cars might have a dedicated cooler?
Not quite the same aesthetic.
I just wish I had a way to remove XM from my car.
Anyway. Soon I'm gonna buy an intake 'system' for my car.
dat sweet sweet TRD intake.
gotta love 0.5hp
Oh hi eastman
nani
i remember you from the Automation server
Does anyone have like a diagram that that shows how an automatic transmission cooler works in a radiator please DM me thanks
Basically you have a couple of lines going from the transmission, and they get cycled through this thing here.
Thank you @dense shard
np
It's just that someone didn't believe that they worked in radiators so I now win the bet
lol
It depends on the car.
Some have external independent oil coolers, a lot have it part of the radiator itself.
But can cooler line goes through the radiator and then to its external cooler and then back to the transmission
I mean... the cooler for the oil is internal to the radiator.
No is because I have a 2005 Ford Excursion Powerstroke in the cooler line goes into the massive radiator than to its cooler and then back to transmission I'm either seen something or I'm going crazy
But thanks man
Yeah 5 speed automatic transmission technically apparently it's 6 its six speed but only that gear engages when is 5Β° to get the transmission really warm basically it's for Alaska
my stupid car does that
locks out 4th
until its warm
so I end up sitting at 3500rpm doing 50 until its warm
lol
(the road i turn onto is 50)
Finally, I answer the question that was on everyone's lips. Which car from the MotoringBox fleet do I like best, VT Calais or AU Fairmont Ghia? Opinions will be split, but there can only be one winner.
I'm moving the losing car on. So if you're interested in adopting and supp...
ok I have 3000 dollars but I want to get a sports car preferrably under that any suggestions?
and preferrably one that is reliable
@dense shard they donβt for the outback, at least the 2015-2019 3.6R
You aren't getting much for 3000 dollars.
And old NA Miata?
And older Camaro or Mustang.
Also a Subaru Outback is no Excursion. Those are expected to be used for towing and other high load applications.
Lexus RX300
@stoic ledge My wife has a Lexus RX350L

She's spoiled
lol
The Toyota Century was a V12-powered Japanese ultra-luxury sedan. Today I'm taking you on a tour of the V12-powered Toyota Century, and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of the Toyota Century. I'm also going to drive the Toyota Century V12 and show you what it'...
If my RX has a big problem and I can't afford a G70 yet, might get that
33mpg highway + 310hp
Good choice probably

kaas is 72cc now
π§
so much torque
@indigo coral that was the first gen Century, this is the second gen π
Oof how much torque?
4500lb/ft
At least
https://electrek.co/2020/05/12/tesla-super-fandom-becomes-toxic-negative-electric-revolution-op-ed/ oh how the tables are turning
lol
tbh: it's been toxic for a while now. It's just spreading within the community now.
i personally like the cars, i don't like the company
So hey, maybe Tesla can best the fighting game community and work on getting good. lol
Just as the Cupertino, California, tech company made people fall in love with their phones, Tesla was able seduce their customers to fall in love with their cars.
I only disagree with this bit.
if the company acted right and quit with their anticonsumer BS, I'd prob buy a Model 3
People have been falling in love with their cars decades before.
yeah lmao
Queen, Deep Purple, Prince.
All wrote love songs to cars.
In the case of Prince, the Corvette.
Ludacris has featured his early 90s Acura on an album cover. Apparently got it totally restored recently. He loves that thing.
90s acura was acuras only good era
Then you have literally any boomer with any car made before 1975. lol
seems like Lexus and Genesis are the only two successful luxury-sub-brands
infiniti is shit, acura is kind of shit, etc
They love their C2 Corvettes, Mustangs, and Chrysler products.
i guess lincoln is okay
meh
I'll take Acura over Lincoln as far as rebadged luxury goes.
Lincoln maybe over Infiniti.
At least lincoln has nice interiors
Lexus over the rest.
They're dated.
Lexus has been wildly successful, and Genesis seems to be doing well too
Genesis is a stupid brand that shouldn't exist, and I love them for it.
why is it stupid?
lol
they make real nice cars
the new G90 is a bit...ugly though
It's superfluous in the face of two preexisting brands one of which is already supposed to be the luxury one.
Kia and Hyundai should be enough, but nah.
wait hold up
Then again Americans are weird, and refuse to pay more for perceived budget brands.
lol Hyundai
Kia is supposed to be the sporty brand.
Well that didn't quite work out.
Well realities haven't lined up to internal marketing.
Therefore Genesis was far less effort to create.
As opposed to realigning the two companies radically, but I digress.
Idk I'm totally gonna get a G70 at some point lol
Lol
The more I read Toyota's confirmation of a GR hatchback...
The more it sounds like we are getting the Yaris.
βwhile GR Yaris isnβt coming to the U.S., perhaps itβs time the U.S. got a Toyota hot hatch to call its own.β
Maybe my dream will come true, and Toyota will just up the engine on the normal Corolla hatch.
Watch it be the CH-R.
the CH-R is probs Toyota's worst car in a long while
It's selling well enough.
CH-R rides on the exact same platform as the Corolla
It's an amusing car all things considered, but it cries out for more power or hybrid power.
Europe has the Hybrid
Hopefully Toyota will drop the current engine in favor of the M20A-FKS.
Yep.
yea, its on the same platform, but it looks kinda weird, is slow, and is built very cheaply compared to other Toyotas
I kinda like the styling.
Yeah I don't like the looks either
But it is slow, and it is built in Turkey.
Corolla is much nicer
Also saw the new Corolla sedan the other day, that's a rare sight here
They're totally different, but I still mistake them for the last gen cars from behind.
Despite looking totally different.
You mistake the Corolla from behind? It's completely different no?
the styling is heavily influenced by last gen
The taillight design is totally different.
its different, but the body lines are very very similar
I often mistake current gen and last gen for early 2000s Corollas from the side
It's just so unmistakably a corolla I catch myself sometimes thinking the wrong thing.
Hatchback tho... We
at each other when we pass by.
"oh wow someone else got a hatchback... good taste"
All the other Prius people don't care
shame
and I never see FBs or even NA Miatas
I still think the Prius is neat.
so I can't headlight flip
and whenever I see other popup cars, they never return my headlight flips
wot
Prius IV is ugly af
like, a guy in a SW20 waved at me when I flicked my headlights
I actually like the facelift Prius IV
the prefacelift Prius IV had a hideous front and a meh rear
the prius interiors suuuuuck
wot
super ugly
only 3rd gen Prius interior sucks
1st, 2nd, and 4th have good interiors
I like the aesthetic of the 3rd gen tbh.
cheap, but well layed out and intuitive
I DESPISE the sloping console
2nd gen gets a pass because that was then.
my brother's Lexus is basically a luxury 3rd gen Prius, so it has the sloping console
I hate that console
nothing is where you expect it to be
Prius 3 is the best looking imho
and why allow the screen to fold down if you can't see climate control changes without the screen being up

I always thought the 3rd gen Prius was galaxy brain for having the screen fold down to access the CD player
like wot
Don't really think that many people use the CD player anymore... and those who do don't really mind it I think. It cleans up the dashboard
That looks waaaay cheaper than the Prius 3 interior imho
wait
Yeah I was just about to say
is it?
That's the C
yeah, I'm like... 90% certain.
oh shit u rite
... that looks way better than I remember it.
Full size Prius has a different shifter
2020 Prius V interior
not bad
I really like that
Yeah I don't mind that one
it harkens back to the Echo cluster placement and 2nd gen Prius interior design
also looks like it has dual glove box
All cars should have dual glove boxes.
This is apparently the 2020 Prius Prime
Or just a big main one
I'm not a fan of the gloss black plastic.
I don't think the Prime differs from the regular IV?
different generations.
oh wait, derp
Yeah I know π
Interior is actually different.
I don't mind the gloss black plastic
The Prime has a much bigger touch screen.
maybe
hmh
Prime Advanced probs has the bigger screen
think time
Isn't that optional?
