oh pikes peak
you know you've played dirt rally too much when you know exactly where that part of the track is xD
i bet u also know the location of every thing to crash into also
yep
BeamNG is very good at that
crash and then your car is fucked, so you have to restart
i love the crash physics but the driving dynamics never quite work for me
What do you use to play? Controller?
I know controller is pretty hard to get good lap times with
Wheel is pretty good, though the tire simulation is a little meh
On the vanilla cars tho, the tire simulation is pretty good. Its when you start getting into modded cars that it can get sketch
Controller just sucks for playing BeamNG like a racing sim. Great for just dicking around, but if you try to get serious its not a great option
yeah im talking about tyres on mod cars
i play keyboard but ive also tried a wheel
wheel seemed to go much better
keyboard is pretty trashy even for just dicking around
but that goes with most racing games, so đ¤ˇ
porting cars from automation works pretty well
Yea
I like using BeamNG to test the cars I make
very useful for comparing classes of vehicles
good for helping me write lore
What do you guys think of this low mileage Corvette not sure what year it is
What blows my mind is it has pop up headlights I know in the 2000s there is a last Corvette to have pop up headlights
C5 was the last to have popups, but that looks too old to be a C5
It's a C4
Oh
I just discovered where you're from xD
(maybe for the second or third time yea)
you got a few scratches there on the front bumper i see
PrĂŠ-facelift, facelift came in 2005, so 2002-2005
ah i was close
well pretty much right
can i join the club in my 02 mini?
gang*
Sure
ayy

Ah ok, looks a tad different to both the fender and rear door, that's why
@stoic ledge Kaas'nt
đ§
i dont like these rims
Mmm carbon mirrors
mm rice
I wanna do that to mine, not the whole thing tho, since my mirror had been wrecked by someone, now i've got mismatched covers
v e r y r i c e
it was already riced a bit, parts that were supposed to be black plastic were painted a glossy black ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
No, it's sketchy as hell.
Miata's around 600rwhp... BMW has Bolt-On's
The rowing trick. Always wanted to try that, but never had a fast enough car.
buggy as hell
been fine for me
+needs some rtx card to even run guud
Hype, killing myself financially today đ a new used Toyota it is
Oh sweet
Doubt you would know the model, since it's practically only found in Europe. A Toyota Avensis, somewhat resembling a Camry
Shit picture, but it's something
This happened to be the 2liter disel.
Sadly the never less reliable 2 liter engine. But since it's a 13 year ol car, I can't really be picky
Isn't the Avensis just a Camry with a smaller engine?
Hi all đ

Hi
Interesting
The Avensis shown above does share the same platform as the RAV4 and your Prius iirc
I coulda sworn the Avensis was based on a platform we have in North America
Yeah, Rav4 and Prius xD
The Prius is based on the Corolla, at least the 2nd gen was
And the 3rd gen is on the same platform as the Lexus HS
Wait lemme check it, I thought it was the MC Platform, sec
Ah yes the Corolla also uses the MC Platform
I'm quite certain my 2nd gen Prius and my dad's HS have the same wheelbase
The Toyota MC platform is a front-wheel drive automobile platform (also adaptable to four-wheel drive) that has underpinned various Toyota and Lexus models from the compact and mid-size categories. MC sits above the older NBC and newer B platforms, but below the Toyota K platf...
Camry is K-platform

Lmao
I had no idea the Prius was known as the XW
Lmao
Makes it sound cool
Gonna start calling it my XW20

Nice how they went XW10-20-30-50 in the Prius naming
Yes the Prius+ is XW40, but it'd have made more sense if that was called the XW35 or something
No it's actually different from a Yaris for some reason
> Imo the V is the worst car Toyota ever made
Why?
It's really ugly to me, and it weighs so much more so the fuel eco is worse than a standard Prius. Plus I think the interior space is about the same, it's barely more.
Basically just a different body style
Completely unnecessary
It's definitely larger on the inside
Hell, it's even a 7 seater
At least, in Europe it was
But the European version also got a LI battery where the US one had a NiMH iirc
OOF apparently we can still get a brand new Prius+/v/...

Love the sound of 4 engines together
You mean two engines bolted together
Or 1 and a half
depending on how you want to look at it
The R26B is technically two 13Bs and also technically a 20B + half a 13B at the same time
but the superior 4 rotor is the one that Mazda pretends doesn't exist

Oof :/
Anyone drive or had a Jeep XJ
I had a couple of friends with one... why?
im looking for first cars
and they have jeeps most legendary motor and i live in michigan and it snows alot
so a nice jdm car would be hard to drive
and the xj is a good offroading platform
Then yes.
Good luck finding a clean one tho. At this point they're either shit buckets or survivors.
i found some for 5 grand in my area already kitted for off-roading like full suspension
how many frames have they had
also, most Jeeps that are modified for off-road are done poorly
You're better off trying to get a stock one if you want something that won't fall apart
and always check for rust
but tbh, for a first car, I'd say get a low or rust free Subaru Forester. You can make them off-road if you want, but tbh I'd just leave it stock for that dd status
if you want something more fun, save up and get a second car
As a fellow rust belt sufferer, never make your fun car (whatever fun is to you) your dd, ESPECIALLY in the winter
if you want an XJ as a dd, get a stock one and don't modify it
if you want an XJ for fun stuff, then getting a modded one, or modding one yourself is fine; but get one as a second car
I know a guy who used to have an XJ, actually. He shit a frame once from rust, and it was on its 3rd transmission when he sold it.
I believe it was a manual one
Yea I preferably have grip track car for my fun car
And then I could have the xj as a daily
Because having a nice civic si with coilovers is not good in the winter
But I donât have a safe storage place for it in the winter
If I could find a small open tip trailer I could probably tow my track car with a xj
drift better
Ik but itâs a lot more money
Yea you need a lot of money for tires
I can make a set r888s on a grip car last a long time
Or even pilot sport cup 2s
i have been driftin for 3 years with my car
still same tires
really depends where you dorifto
That wonât work dailyâs tires donât last nearly that long
ya got any idea what tires im using?
And "drift" cars have an imaginary tax on them for being so called "drift" cars
fwd drifto
Like I can get a civic si and put wheels and tires on it and it will be good
Lol
@civic girder you say no mods for dailyâs what about a 2 inch lift and decent wheels and tires
I could save it for a project race car
a sandpaper attachment to a power drill etc would make it faster
also what corvette model and year is that? looks nice as hell, guessing a 70s model?
Bumpers are supposedly rubber.
I know where there's a C3 that's been sitting in weeds for years
C3 looks nice, but those were not great sports cars.
the C4 is a really good platform to modify
they handle fairly well and they're cheap
can you survive social distancing in a million dollar RV
-some rich person on youtube
Gone sexual
@vast harness lift and wheels/tires are fine, just make sure the lift is done correctly and tires are actually road tires. Off-road tires will make ridiculously loud noise, be uncomfortable, and dramatically reduce fuel economy. Shitty job on the lift could at best just be uncomfortable, but could end up causing severe damage (especially if the underside is rusty). Personally, I would highly advise against any mods beyond wheels and tires, but ultimately it is your car. The moment you start changing things, the car is no longer going to be as reliable as it was from the factory (there are exceptions to this, but is highly dependant on what car you have and what mods you do).
Ok
Not unexpected
Never will I pay a subscription fee for that
Cost is extreme.
Also this. đ¤
While GM and Ford are making respirators, Elon is whining.
It was to be expected tbh
Who knows. It might only be 50 dollars.
It doesn't make sense to offer a subscription no one will buy.
unless the Tesla fan logic is, "but you'll only buy a subscription when you go on long trips and actually use it"
đ probably
https://jbclassiccars.com/?portfolio=tesla-shooting-brake-2
The Shooting Brake Model S is for sale

Private Buyers have to pay VAT in this case the price will be ⏠224.521,55.
One big price for a 2013 P85
That chrome on the end looks really tacky.
Yeah too big
i mean if its cheaper than paying someone to drive ur car its not completely without a market
Idea is a subscription costs less than buying a product outright.
If you raise the price where the costs are nearly equivalent, there's no economic reason to subscribe.
A pending feature.
That'd be like paying Mazda monthly so that the choke on my carburetor works
FSD hasn't technically been implemented yet... you can become a beta tester for it, but it's not out yet.
Even Electrek is a bit cool on this entire thing.
They're as much Tesla fans as the shorts are haters.
"Right now, I personally donât think Navigate on Autopilot, Summon, Autopark, etc. are worth $7,000, but if Tesla delivers on a complete âfeature-completeâ system by the end of the year, even if it requires driver attention, I think the price is starting to make sense."
This is more akin to buying a season pass for your car, and hoping the company actually gets around to implementing it.
Which progress IS being made towards it... soooo yeah.
Sounds dumb to me
I am not a fan of the model.
I want to pay upfront for a feature that is working now.
Beats BMW charging people 100 dollars a year for a feature that has no licensing fees and a one time hardware implementation fee.
(since which BMW has done away with that fee because even they realized that was stupid)
Can't wait for Tesla to be considered the EA of cars
urgh
I hate EA for that nickel and diming bullshit.
"I don't want to buy FSD up front, I rather pay a 100 a month."
yea, a lot of what I've seen in regards to Tesla in the last year or so is making me really not want to EVER consider a Tesla
Bud... just buy the feature outright.... you can spread the cost out over 72 months at 100 dollars a month.
Same outcome
At the rate the industry is going.
I won't be considering a BEV for quite a long time.
Yea, pretty much same
The only "EVs" I'll be considering will be Prius and MX-30
ofc MX-30 I'll be getting with the rotary
Prius, I doubt I'd go for the Prime
or even the AWD one for that matter
CIVICĂEVANGELION ăłăŠăçšč¨ăľă¤ă
https://www.honda.co.jp/CIVICEVA/?sid=youtube
Get in the Civic, Shinji!
I wonder when the US will start offering hybrids for lower end cars.
A hybrid Fit or Yaris would be swell.
The Prius C was a hybrid Yaris
Basically yes
It wasn't as blatant a ripoff as the first gen Prius was of the Echo
You can't tell me these aren't the same car lmao
Wait according to Wikipedia, the new Yaris has 2 electric motors?
59 kW (79 hp; 80 PS) 1NM AC synchronous (front, 1.5 L hybrid)
3.9Â kW (5.2Â hp; 5.3Â PS)Â 1MMÂ AC synchronous (rear, 1.5Â L hybrid)
And lul kinda similar
so the Yaris is just straight up a hybrid now?
and 1.5L, sounds familiar
is it a 1NZ-FXE
I would've laughed it was the 1NZ
FKS is just petrol FXS/FXE is in the hybrids.
cause that's what I have in my second gen
Wheelbase
2,550Â mm (100.4Â in) (Japanese market)
2,560Â mm (100.8Â in) (European marketÂ
Why tho xD
lmao
taxes probably
gotta cheat that displacement tax mang
Hell having an engine displacement on CC over means next tax bracket.
Idk just create the .4 inch smaller one xD
or wait
wheelbase... could be different suspension setups.
or not. The JDM Yaris is narrower by a couple of inches.
JDM Yaris is smaller.
And higher
Now that could be suspension.
Then again only the Japanese truly appreciate headroom.
Probably actually taller
Ah yes, the e-AWD is for the Japanese market
Europe Hybrid is FWD only
Japan loves their AWD.
Makes sense considering the Western side can get a stupid amount of snow.
afaik, the e-AWD is fake AWD tho
It's no more fake than the rest of the on-demand AWD setups.
fair enough
But yes. The rear wheels aren't connected to the engine. It's pure electric in the back.
Well that's kinda common for those systems, I know more hybrids like that

I think the new RLX is the NSX styled AWD stuff.
12A is best engine
Nice smoke eastman xD
Sounds like a thousand ripping pants
RLX looks old
Oof xD
It's so old it still uses double A-arms in the front.
I like how European Honda's like the Accord were considered Premium in the US, and sold as Acura xD
For reference. Honda moved the Accord to mcpherson struts in around 2012?
I think it had it earlier, no?
Even my Corsa has it, and it first launched in 2006
Wait McPherson front struts right?
yes
Okay to be fair the suspension type isn't a huge deal.
But double wishbone suspension up front was considered superior for a few reasons.
And Honda's move away from it in 2001 with the Civic and 2013 with the Accord did cause people to worry.
Then again Porsche and BMW are kinda famous for using front struts and BMW is considered a benchmark for handling.
I mean, basically everything uses it these days
yep
I think double control arms means less torque steer? đ¤
I honestly don't remember.
My Corolla has not enough torque to make torque steer an issue. lol

Yes that was awful
Nah. It wasn't bad tbh.
In retrospect it was competitive against the Civic and Corolla.
Well in the European market that would've been aweful, since the competitors were way better xD
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6d/2006-2009_Honda_Civic_VTi_sedan_(2018-10-19)_01.jpg This was the car it competed against.
Although the EU Focus was fine
This generation of Civic was... blah.
We only had that Civic as a hybrid5, and the only reason people bought leased them were tax advantages
weird styling, cheap interior, but at least it was comfy enough.
xD
yeah, I believe that
But I'd rather get a Prius at that point.
Faster, better fuel economy.
Those sold better, yes
https://media.autoweek.nl/m/9iqy0q1b8ylx_800.jpg
Mk2 Focus Wagon
Up until recently. You had to be a hardcore Honda fan to buy the Insight or hybrid Civic.
Euro styling for Ford was nice.
The Insight was horrible too
Especially the interior was way better compared to the US Focus
Cheaper Prius by being worse
Idk if it was actually that much cheaper here
Civic Hybrid âŹ24k, Prius âŹ25k
Not that different tho
Insight was cheaper yes
Civic Hybrid got discontinued after 2011 I think.
Base âŹ19990
In the US.
2012 in Europe
Honda's track record with EVs is pretty crap.
https://media.autoweek.nl/m/8kly31rb72bt_480.jpg
Civic Wagon
The gen 1 Insight was nice, but useless. 2nd gen Insight was trash.
ah yes. The Jade?
They did make a manual Hybrid, the CR-Z which is fun
I honestly think the Corolla Wagon is nicer.
The CR-Z tho... 35 mpg for a hybrid?
lol yeah no
The Civic Wagon was just called the Civic Wagon xD
Do they even make a Civic Wagon anymore?
Can't really compare it to the new Corolla since it's much older
Came out in 2014
No previous gen Civic
Now there is no wagon anymore
Probably only made them for the EU market (or outside too?) But nobody in Europe bought them
With a starting price 5k more than competitors not surprising
And the interior wasn't that nice either
The satnav looks so aftermarket
And then another small screen on top of the dash
A digital speedometer above analog gauges
It's just a mess
No wonder nobody bought one
It looks like 2005.
here we go. Honda Jade
The less rubbish Civic wagon.

Ang competitior looks way better
Oof that's actually a cool Honda
Why don't we have that
Just like the JDM Odyssey, way cooler
JDM*
Exactly
I found a 95 celica gt4 for sale locally
12k
rip
:0
likely jdm
i must be weird liking 80-90s jdm
doesn't seem to be as big as of recently
i cannot literally fit inside an integra
i tried
đŚ
was gonna be my first car
got a 98 civic instead, drove that thing to the ground
short shifter n all
such a fun car to drive
Just bolt it to the roof.
The moment when you signed a contract for a new vehicle because your current is about to give up within half a year, COVID19 kicks in and you get an order confirmation with
estimated delivery: To be determined
Classic
Ordered a VW e-up... đ
Just don't get a pandemic. smh
What's the range on the e-UP?
Estimated, I should say.
Realistic range at speed 100kph and AC with 10 Celsius difference to outside at dry weather, about 220km
But at least during the colder seaons, I do not use the heater at all. Unless we go two-digit sub-zero at least.
220 km's is pretty dang good.
32kWh netto capacity, 36kWh brutto.
Equals to 250km range on WLTP, equals about 12.8kWh/100km.
Can charge with 11kW AC and up to 43kW DC.
For me, being single and working at an IT-service provider, its maybe the best car to get.
Instant torque, easily charge at home and work and sufficient space to load up even a small serverrack bc. I do not need the 2nd seating row
Only issue I see there is severe software issues.
I imagine that the VW e-UP would be a pain to live with for me.
Considering that I do 100 km's on the daily.
I do about 50-100km daily too đ¤Ł
Sometimes 150
VW has delayed teh car by a year to fix/make software, and the new Golf apparently also has issues with the software.
For a company purportedly having been working on the ID.3 for something like a decade now... blah.
Oh wait... the e-UP... maybe fewer issues there?
The ID series is seperate from the e-Up. The e-Up is in revision 2020, its already in production and being sold
oh, good on VW for not fucking that up.
Its my first own bought car. The first iteration of the e-up only had half the capacity and therefore only 120km range.
Back in 2014 I guess
nice!
And naturally something the US doesn't get.
I'd love a small EV for short commutes to work.
The e-up is the smallest car in the VW setup.
My dream car and is something I may be able to purchase within 5-7years is something else... Though the difficult part would be to get a plate for it in Germany...
The Tesla CT
I've made my view on Tesla clear over the past few whatevers.
By price:performance, no one can compete with Tesla. Its a fact. Though I'm not yet having that kind of money, but I'm working towards it.
In hope it gets allowed in Germany.
Yes. Together with the Cyberquad ATV
Or in a few cases it gets trounced quite handily.
I don't remember if this is EPA, NHTSA or whatever, but according to them the CT competes with heavy duty trucks in the US... which completly changes the picture.
Thing is, I do like offroading and camping. I can't fill up a gasoline truck on the camping trip or power kitchen using it.
I can with a BEV though, taking a 3qm solarpanels and/or a small portable wind turbine with me and running induction based kitchen
You can absolutely power a kitching using a heavy duty truck.
A lot of modern trucks offer heavy duty alternators, extra batteries, and 120V outlets.
But you can't end the day with more than what you started with without going back into civilization
Though most camping setups use propane for cooking.
Considering a lot of overlanders can spend days if not more out in the boonies... I don't think cooking fuel is a huge concern.
A square meter of solar with 20% efficiency can aquire 200W on a sunny day. Get 2,5 square meters, having 500W. Get it for 5hrs and you aquired 2.5kWh.
Assume a truck going 10kWh/100km when you run 10-20kph offroad, you can get a 25km range per day.
That's assuming you have full sunlight.
Yes. The day being maybe 10hrs daylight, taking 5hrs of effective sunlight.
And a silent ATV makes short range travel around a basecamp much more easily.
I'm really looking forward to this aspect of future.
I'm sticking to gasoline if I ever go camping.
Pick up an old beater Tundra, and have fun.
I don't think I could take a 60k truck out onto a rough trail and be able to scratch it up.
The stress alone would kill me.
Thats fine. I currently drive a Golf 3 Cabrio with sports upgrade.
I really like to drive it between 4-6kRPM and push it.
Cybertruck in RWD base variant costs a 40 grand. AWD 50, Tri-Drive 70 grand.
The Cybertruck is big.
Its a big boi.
Too big for me.
oh yeah, it's stupid big
My area downstairs isn't small enough for it.
I'm 1,91cm tall and about 65cm wide. It's not too big for me. đ
Physiologists say, someone should sit at the height of the hip in a vehicle.
To the point Tesla is working hard on redesigning the truck.
Point is the thing is too long and wide to drive comfortably or safety.
Americans already have issues driving their Suburbans and 8 foot bed Silverados.
If I get a CyberTruck, I would just only use the ATV for city. I would just use the CT over country and offroad
As far as I can tell.
It's a wonderful mall crawler.
Not much use as a pick up truck.
The Cybertruck literally is a ram.
That's why I like it. That's why it most likely won't get allowed in Germany.
Result: I need to emigrate đ¤Ł
Also yeah
I don't see the EU approving the CT as is.
It's gonna murder pedestrians.
Isn't that... ||intended?|| || đ ||
I hope not.
I will not drive it where pedestrians would become an issue. That's what I use the ATV for.
The CT is an offroad-vehicle, so the AllTerrainVehicle is then considered to run on dense pedestrian-areas. đ
I guarantee you very few Americans will take their cybertrucks off road.
And I imagine few will tow much with it.
I'm as an European would 100% take it offroad and do a tour across the north-east of europe
Because I do like it cold.
So a 15-30% hit on range.
We'll see what's what. Tesla is already changing working on changing the truck.
I mean, which pedestrian wouldn't try to flee instantly if this drives towards you..
The ones who are trying to see if the driver is asleep or texting.
Unless I visited McDonalds DriveIn, I would drive manually
Where I live, the Bundeswehr (army) does sometimes go to McDonalds. Because we have barracks near by
...with a crew transporter
This is a tale of two Veyrons: the original, 1001-hp Veyron 16.4 and Grand Sport were created by Ferdinand PiĂŤch to reclaim his Le Means Mulsanne-Straight top-speed record from Peugeot. But in addition to breaking the 407 km/h record, the chairman of Volkswagen would do it in ...
I'm guessing they to to macca's using a Mercedes G-Wagon
So that one will compete with Tesla's Roadster V2? Which is intended to be a mass produced, 200 grand vehicle for 4 persons and 400kph and up to 1.9s from 0-100
and it will have rockets, and shoot lasers at rain to stop rain from falling.
I'll believe it when I see it.
The SpaceX upgrade package.
Just a compressor using Falcon Rocket maneuvering Thrusters with compressed air.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/Mowag_Eagle_V.jpg This thing is about 50 cm shorter than the Cybertruck.
do not buy the 8 Pro @civic spoke
The military has more compact equpiment.
@indigo coral Why, tho?
My most favorite car before the Cybertruck
horrible screen issues
green tint and red tint are really common
people have had overheating problems as well
oof
I do wonder about the CT's touted tow figures.
I wonder how many people towing will overheat their trucks and get stranded in the rockies.
The Big Three had issues before 2010 with their own tow figures till they all agreed to a standard test.
nobody is actually going to tow with the cybertruck
Good point about BEVs.. You can run them in areas with thin air... Or underwater đ
it'll be a mall crawler
Someone will.
Altitude isn't a problem for modern engines.
Especially turbo charged engines.
i bet mine would crap out at high altitude
no turbo charging and tiny motor
and old
lol
Altitude is an issue for helicopters. Which can't reach the everest mountain peak.
Though, even The Roadster in space at Mars can still drive.
Naturally aspirated engines will always crap out.
The Roadster has likely disintigrated from constant solar bombardment.
Maybe. Still speaking of functionality, a BEV can run in a vacuum or submerged
Which is irrelevant on the surface of earth.
^
Because you will destroy anything that's underwater.
I can bet money the interior of the CT isn't water proof.
No its not. Not when you live in an area which sometimes get flooded 1m+
Then your shit will be fucked regardless.
Teslas still get ruined in floods
E.musk wants to CT to be more water proof than the other Teslas and even being able to float
All modern cars will float for a short time.
he's having some sort of mental break rn
I'm sorry, but good panel gaps and good door seals aren't a selling point anymore.
That hasn't been a bragging point since Japan started building cars in the US.
Why should Musk have a mental break? đ¤
cocaine habit?
did you listen to his earnings call or read his tiwtter?
lol that was great
Yes I did. I approved
Apparently a shelter at home is now facist.
he's going on expletive filled rants about shutdowns, and today it came out that he dumped all his properties and tweeted about tesla share price being too high
His Twitter is a shit show
he's just losing his marbles
God forbid you try to protect your workers.
He came off as an angry old capitalist who just wants money instead of help society.
Maybe we shouldn't go into discussing this. Its severly polarizing #politics #opinions
This isn't politics.
What public safety ~ Elon
Ford and GM are building ventilators, Tesla sent CPAP machines.
his statements about the closures are completely indefensible and were rash and damaging to his and his company's public image.
Public safety only counts until a certain threshold. That is why the armaments of the US exist
Public safety... The man whose company has turned away OSHA inspectors.
My issues with Tesla aren' the products. It's the services, the company, and what they represent.
Germany is lowering the restrictions because mental issues are more serve than Corona
And soon Corona will be a more severe issue than some cabin fever.
Mental issues is one reason of a total of 3
From a historical perspective... Spanish Flu's death rate rocketed in the second wave.

Fanbois: xcuse moi

No automaker is essential.
@indigo coral tag him
Dealers have enough stock left to service the economy.
@sand junco what do you think about musk's rant about the closures
Wrong Aerial
Automaker is essential, because I am essential. And without car, I can not work. đ

Go buy a fossil powered car.
Automotive manufacturing is NOT essential.
He's not in the server anymore
That sentence of mine is
damn i wanted to see him rail against us while whacking it to tesla xD
Tesla is a low hanging fruit to bash because they place themselves there.
We really should stop it here and return to cars...
Telsa is talking about cars.
Auto industry pracitices are 100% fitting in with this channel.
I saw another hatchback a few days ago. I swear the driver gave me a
look as they drove by.
Sedans are getting more common, and about a third of them are already beat up. I don't know how people do that.
Speaking of beat up.
I looked up the old E46 320i that our family used to have. It's deregistered đŚ
oh no
Sad
Still no word of the stolen E91... We'll never seen it again
I'm sure you'll see it in some eastern european instagrammer's post.
Probably
Or has the car stealing stereotype moved South?
nice! dammit
Tbh it's probably parted out
Here they usually go from Sweden to Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania.
That part of the world.
Same, or Poland, Romania etc
Probably stolen on order
Or it has been driven in to a shed/shop nearby and will move in pieces to the East
In my our their defense... BMW parts expensive!
Although a friends stolen RS6 had driven around for over 4 months with changing plates
Yeah that's why I'm quite certain it's parted out
Especially since it had basically all wanted option
You can copy the key via OBD.... Too easy tbh
@dense shard They litearlly just copy the key from a distance.
And with modern telematics... can't these things be tracked?
You can see how to program a BMW smart key for CAS system for 10 seconds via OBD II without disassemble anything from the car. This is a genuine tool and it's not a chinese copy!
www.vag-info.com
so you don't even have to RF swipe em... just break into the car.
You can easily copy the key of a car using a fob for starting the car.
A small point of worry.

It didn't have keyless entry so they couldn't have extended that signal
I'm quite certain they just copied/created a key via OBD
Police in West Midlands, UK have released footage of criminals stealing a car by relaying a signal from the key inside the home, to the car in the driveway.
It didn't have keyless
That can easily be fixed by storing your key in a metal box tho
đ
I have a W201
No keyless go
but hell yes vroom vroom
This won't be the last vroom it has vroomed
How to not make a mess with upside down oil filter
and I went with a nice Wix instead of cheapo Fram this time
accesible filters are excellent
yes
@civic girder a plastic bag and slight of hand
that works too ig
my filter is a pain in the ass to get off
oof
@sand junco he just went straight philosophical on his twitter
stuff like selling all of his houses
tesla stocks too high
etc
almost makes me consider hub motors and I hate the idea of the unsprung mass
I may have that backwrds
hub motors don't matter that much in the end apparently.
But if you are going for EV... much easier to do AWD.
You don't have to deal with that big throbbing lump of metal in the middle.
I design those throbbing lumps of metal so it would be a shame not to have one
cool
still if I could do something fun like have an electric transmission
at the same time I do really like the model Y
They've apparently got some really cool manufacturing techniques.
Tesla is finally delivering on their bragging.
Only took... 3 products worth of time.
I live in michigan I think that skewed my odds of becoming some amount car guy
sure
Though in my case I've stuck to Japanese cars.
my car is a forester
something appealing about the symmetry even after they cost cut to a sensible single exhaust
đ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pOTUw4T9dk oh yay my video finally processed.
Before social distancing and before this was a thing in the US... drove through the fun part of Grants Mill Road starting at the I-459 exit, and going down to Hwy 119. Enjoy.

I'm still trying to work out the color balance and the such, but w/e.
@normal temple holy fuck they plummuted
what did?
yeah he's kind of losing his mind a bit xD
Nice gg
magic
hmm renoolt halfshafts broken soon yes
well they were kinda already too high it wasnt gonna be sustainable
possibly trying to lessen the blow of something later also
Tesla stock prices were always based on hype
tesla had some bad stocks during now
Alrighty here goes changing my transmission fluid oil in hopes that we can get rid of another round of P000A + P0011 check engine lights.
the joke here about transmission fluid is that some guy on Reddit let his nephew change the "oil" in his Crosstrek... It wasn't running so well a few blocks down the street.
Oof
Looooool

looks like half supra
why does this look like a dodge version of a ferarri ff
That's an i8
thanks
I love the i8
not the 'I am a tractor that for some reason revs to 6.5k rpm' sound
the design is okay but it lacks a variant
It's changingg
step backk
POOF
The most desirable i8
Lol not to bad actually
I need it
it's the only 3cyl bmw I'll drive
but I'll take out the 3cyl
and put in the A45S engine
A45S
Throw out the EV package, along with the BMW i3 from the i8, and replace it with the TFG.
i8 Touring should come with an i8
Sadly a staright eight engine makes little sense today.
Here you go, a car with a straight 8 engine.
Duesenberg Model J
Basically the last car that used an i8 engine.
I know, but an i8 in an i8 is cool đ

should i get a dodge charger or challenger in the future
I probably wouldn't mind supercharging my car, if I managed to find a kit that was affordable.
Chrysler switched from an I8 to a Hemi V8 in 1951
Hudson ended production of their I8s in 1952
Buick's straight 8 engine stayed until 1953
True. I missed those ones.
The package of the V8 is just so much better.
Packard had an inline 8 as well.

i like the whole shooting brake design thing
shame its not as common because reasons
Haha car go broom broom
fast enough to fly
LOL
The 10k miata.
Gotta love screwing with Instagram people who think American cars are the best and everything else is garbage
It was a long back and forth with me bringing up good points and him not bringing up good points, I decided I'd had enough for one day and hit him with the old "ok boomer"
Ok boomer
I love my American cars but like
I can admit they ain't the best
Especially now when we basically do not understand that vehicles other than SUVs exist
Why does one person who is living on their own, maybe one other person, need a massive SUV? I just don't get it. Like moving things, yeah. But if it's just a daily...like what the hell.
Everyone needs an SUV here for some reason.
Yea, I don't get it either
I want to get a truck, but not to daily or tool around in
I want it for the bed and cargo capacity
Beyond its utilitarian purpose, I see no reason to have a truck or SUV
For daily driver duty: sedan, wagon, or van. For cruising/weekend warrior, sports/muscle car
crossovers aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be
my RX isn't excessively large
and my mom has an SUV for hauling children
tf do you expect her to drive, an elise?
a minivan
excuse me, what?
at the very least you can have a modicum of fun in our Explorer
bully for you, they've got their place
I'd take an SUV over a hideous minivan 100% of the time
I actually think minivans look better, are more practical, and are better to drive
there's no way a sienna is better to drive than our explorer
not a chance
its fwd for god sakes
what about the Astro?
SUV is taller, less economical, and the higher tailgate can make loading and unloading things more difficult
3 row SUVs are also the biggest meme I've ever seen
what can you fit in the 3rd row beyond a small child no older than 8 or 9 years old
and obvious answers
I can fit in our 3rd row no problem
But minivans? you can easily fit 7 grown adults
i fit in our 3rd row quite comfortably
idk, I've never seen a 3 row SUV that could fit a middle schooler, let along an adult
besides
what SUV can you get that is mid engined AWD and supercharged?
the answer is none
but there is a minivan that fits that bill
The Previa is the best minivan ever, change my mind
our car at least has some pretty decent power
they haven't been good since the mid 90s lmao
365 is so god damn much, wtf
its decent
a bit slower than the Taurus cause its heavy
the taurus has the same ecoboost v6 and it hauls arse
imagine thinking 365hp is only "decent"
ngl the taurus is surprisingly athletic in corners for being a ford taurus
yay for sport packages i guess
its nice
still feels brand new
(cause it practically is)
just barely crossed 30k miles
and it's a 2013
you can make any car feel brand new by maintaining it and caring for it
though in fairness it doesn't feel more than two decades old either
Last S351 ever made, number 49 signed by Steve Saleen
đ
Straight outta 2003
@carmine summit that is quite epic
Blank buttons
well, i see the desperate times coming, so i'm thinking about desperate measures.
Is there any foam or material (solid-ish) that technically can replace air in the tire? Main goal is to have the pack of old af tires last for about i'd say 150km of rough surface at speeds close to 70-80kph. The suspension strain doesnt concern me too much as it'll be done on Lada Riva or Ford Sierra, i.e. the disposable car
i understand the dangers of large unsuspended mass, but do not give a fuck. Big potholes and big rocks are not expected. But what is axpected are the rocks small enough to be unnoticed and sharp enough to cut the tire
Nissan pulling back from Europe đ Other sources stating they'll keep the Qashqai (Rogue Sport) and Juke, and even the Leaf will go: EV's will only be sold under the Renault nameplate in Europe
@verbal sonnet the stuff they use in fix-a-flat kits?
That expands to some kind of foam and is rated for speeds up to 80km/h
Is it sold in bottles big enough to fill a whole 15-inch wheel?
I think 1 bottle is for 1 wheel, so it should work (?)
Although when the tire is wripped it won't don anything good
Fix-a-flat isn't a great idea.
A tire patch kit and an air compressor will serve you better.
Goal is not to repair. Goal is to make the tires unflattable for 150-200km
That's it
You can do that just as safety with a patch kit.
fix-a-flat is usually not recommended to use with TPMS stuff.
Then again automakers shouldn't be removing the spare from the car in the first place.
Lets buy a practical Volvo and fill the trunk/boot with speakers

Very useful ^^
my car just has a full alloy spare
