My dad's told me a few times about "racing" the people he worked with to see who could get to destinations the fastest, most of them had newer trucks (all owner operators) but the 400 big cam Cummins in his K100 wasn't stock so even if they left sooner he could catch up and then pass them up a hill

It's a perfectly fine 80s car.

It's on par with other cars in the class. what makes it special tho are the Germanic prices on repair.

And the astounding pain in the ass to do literally any drivetrain work on it. Apparently you have to drop half the car to get at the clutch since it is a rear transaxle unit.

I know a bit about turbos

#

an intercooler won't reduce lag but you can gain power because the cold air is more dense

#

if you just have a stock engine though a water injection kit might be better, you'll gain power and it can sometimes help reduce turbo lag, and you don't have to wait for water to spool

#

as far as I know Snow Performance is the best when it comes to water/meth kits

#
