First one is for picking up and hauling contailers, etc.
Second one is just for trailers.
i love the offset cab macks
Why have it offset?
There's a lot of those around here, they're definitely unique
i dont know why theyre like that
useful for other applications like cranes and stuff
I guess they use that room for exhaust stuff.
i only know they exist because a construction company that has a shop next to where i live has a butt load of them
well drilling trucks too, my neighbour has a couple of these with drilling rigs and another neighbour has one with a crane and 2 steering axles
water wells are a surprisingly big industry here
Wouldn't mind driving something like this, either.
Truck for saving trucks.
lmao
i used the truck to save the truck
but what if that truck needed to be saves
saved
looks stubby to me, I'm used to the wreckers we have here
@civic spoke what if that truck needed to be saved
stuff like this
Then you bring in the big brother.
oh my god
Throw on a 5th axle π
thats so excessive lmao
Axtually. Speaking of those trucks.
1 wheel for that probably costs as much as my jeep kk
I live not far from one of the busiest highways on the continent and in the winter a lot of trucks need towing and removal from highway medians
It's a Nissan Navara.
well i take that back i llive near the saratoga battlefeild
oh
whats that gonna tow?
very small cars
More or less normal cars.
Going to see if I can find the license plate of one.
See what towing capacity it has.
I'm friends with the owners of a local towing company, turned down a job offer though because I didn't feel like unloading rolled van trailers was something I would want to do
oh fun
oh thats neat
i agree
with new trucks it's "do you want white, blue, red, or black?"
Then I want pinups on the side of it.
My dad's told me a few times about "racing" the people he worked with to see who could get to destinations the fastest, most of them had newer trucks (all owner operators) but the 400 big cam Cummins in his K100 wasn't stock so even if they left sooner he could catch up and then pass them up a hill
I think I know where I get the urge to modify everything
And here your trucks are limited to 90 kmh.
trucks are limited to 105 km/h here now
apparently back in the 80s though you could do 80mph down the 401 at 3AM in a fully loaded truck and the police wouldn't care
it'd be neat to have a GMC crackerbox with the gas v12, it's literally 2 GMC V6s stuck together
This would be fun to drive.
oh thats interesting lol
my dad's 1970s Kenworth had 400hp stock and it was unrestricted, it was also modified a bit so it probably had 450hp
The big difference between trucks now, and trucks from 40 years ago is how not-terrible they are to the enviroment.
that and ride quality
and the new ones have boring automatics
instead of a FIFTEEN SPEED DOUBLE OVERDRIVE STICKSHIFT
My truck is an automated manual.
cease
Meaning that it's as strong, and long-lasting as a normal manual.
But it's automatic.
exactly
my jeep kk needs a new torque converter badly
if im on even a slight hill and i let my foot off the brake it starts to roll down the hill, backwards, while in drive. also on flat ground, in drive, if i let my foot off the brake, it stays still.
I have this button I can just press.
Or hold the e-brake.
Hill hold is something I try to do without most of the time.
But it's nice from time to time.
The highlighted one?
left not right
Hence why it has the extra switch-thing on it.
So that you don't accidentally press it.
oh thats smart
what about the one to the right of that
with the thing that looks like a deflated tire
TC = Traction control
i thought so but the tire didnt make sense
Third one is something about closing up the exhaust, I think. To heat up shit faster.
ah
i can close my exhausts too
just not supposed to lmao
and i dont
what other interesting switches are there
I can do this. Give me a few.
ok
whats the one with the wheel and chain
Managed to find a picture of my dad's old truck in a photo album
nice
That was before he stretched the frame
cool
@smoky gate Instant snowchains.
Called onspot.
oh
Onspot is a very simple concept which can be activated during shorter periods in a preventive manner. When the road becomes icy and slippery, all the driver needs to do is press a button in his cab, and Onspot is activated. Onspot can be used when starting the engine, when bra...
Lets see...
Yeah.
suvs i mean
You'd need something with a bigger frame.
even then, SUVs are getting lower and lower
true
and even more compact
they arent even suvs anymore
I can probably take a picture of the switches in my truck, if I remember it.
The best you can do for a car is studded tires or traditional chains
yeah
and ofc, full time AWD or manually controlled 4x4
Man, looking back on those switches in that Scania make me miss it.
yeah i prefer part time 4x4
I wonder what companies nearby uses Scanias...
Or who knows. I might just be able to apply to the Scania place that's nearby.
There's also Volvo and MAN there.
theres an international dealership near me
Would also not mind a Volvo FH
Alright lasd
lads
Do people post pics of their own motors in here or is more of a general chat?
Here could work I imagine.
elon musk confirms you can wrap the Cybertruck
wow, being able to vinyl wrap a car is now a feature
wow, being able to vinyl wrap a car is now a feature
Oof luckily they confirmed it, otherwise the wrap would just fall off
I'm sure you could find a way around it.
DBrand did find a way to put a wrap on the Switch in the end.
It's steel body, right?
Should be easy to electro-plate it then...
Because who wouldn't want a gold-plated Cyber Truck?
price, cool, repair costs, probably not..
Make a more informed buying decision at CARFAX by first viewing vehicle history on this 2007 Bentley Continental Flying Spur.
Electroplating is freaking brilliant
Also bare metal is going to be a pain to keep clean.
... inb4 someone polishes a cybertruck to a shine
Me and the bois doing skids after quarantine
One of the more stylish cars.

oh hell yeah
I'd drive that
Diesel power is a whole new world for usβ¦ and since weβre trying to make 1000hp and got 200mph with this thing, we thought it miiiiight be a good idea to bring in some pros to help us out. So we call our buds at PPE to school us on oiling, pistons, and power - and head back ov...
Hell
fucking
yes
whic carmodel and make is this? the pepole that get this right i will like
dont revers serche the image
looks like a tesla
mainly because the interior
being white
also the rotors
well
calipers
short name
It's the Tesla Roadster V2, is it not?
yep
I call it the V2, because the first one was made long ago. And looked like an EV Lotus.
Because it was an EV Lotus
Tesla basically fitted out a Lotus Elise with a battery pack.
I wonder what happened to the Venom F5 car.
It's just funny how they hyped that up to become the fastest car in the world.
But nothing has really happened.
Because the issue isn't building the engine or aero.
It always boils down to the tires.
They don't even have a proper car to show off.
Yeah. Crown is likely going to Jesko Absolut when they do make a run.
Bugatti and Konigsegg are both done for the time being.
Koenigsegg are done chasing speed after the Jesko.
yep
I don't really like the Hennessey Venom F5 myself.
I think the 1,800 hp engine they are using is just a crate engine someone else have made to their specification.
Reality is that Hennessey already has a pretty bad rep.
And if they didn't make their own engine, I'm gonna laugh. That's all they do. Is do engine mods on cars.
whic carmodel and make is this? the pepole that get this right i will like
Not that difficult, is it xD
Can you still call it Roadster 2020 if it isn't a 2020 model?
You say that. But I'm guessing that production has slowed down something crazy within the last two months.
The Tesla Model Series Roadster
yeah idk
Postal Delivery LLV with Mailbox is an authentic Postal Delivery LLV die-cast toy. This true-to-scale replia also comes with a mailbox greenlight
Finally my collection of modern contemporary mail trucks can be started and completed.
oh snap! They even have the Promaster.
They are changing those cars out, right?
I have heard that they are going with EV for their next fleet.

Called Porsche, hereβs the deal on EPA range: There are multiple test regiments for EPA rating. Porsche ran conservative option, submitted to EPA. In this instance, EPA requested a car to run their own tests (Taycan Turbo). They did. Numbers were similar to Porsche. Published...

Tesla = Apple
Porsche Taycan = Windows/Android
guys it finally happened, i got my Miata fixed
Did you give it a LS?
LOL
Using power tools to change tires is cheating.
It's also not good for it
Used it only to loosen.
Nah, using a lug wrench with an 8 feet handle on it is much better xD
Should probably do an oil change on my car. Getting close to 20,000 km's driven since my last one
Oof maybe yes
Oil still looks really good.
Tesla = Apple
Porsche Taycan = Windows/Android
@indigo coral exactly, apple sucks (jk)
@stoic ledge Oil is getting to the lower part between the lines of the dip stick. So I might as well do a full oil change.
Is what I'm thinking.
Running 0W30
Oof it does has a physical dip stick
My brothers E91 doesn't have one, only way to measure it is via iDrive
Or was, if it wasn't stolen yesterday
Yeah, it does.

It's nice being able to physically check the color of the oil.
It was stupid, you had to run the engine quite some time (at idle) to measure it
Just to replace a dipstick

If you find an E91 LCI on Dutch plates, let me know xD
Quite certain we'll never see it again
Ripperonis
He might be getting a newer 1er/3er/4er diesel, or a 330e, or maybe: Volvo π
The new G20 3 series is a such a good looker.
I feel you.
1er F20 LCI, 3er F30/F31/F36 LCI, one of those probably
Good options as well.
The old 1 series is nice.
Small, and still RWD
Sad that the new ones are FWD
Hard to find an LCI diesel which isn't the 116d tho, which is dat
116d LCI is a 3 cyl, which is a definite no go
But yeah, RWD
Found a really nice 1er diesel, perfectly specced, in price range... Is it a 3 cyl diesel
But first we need to find out what we'll get back from the insurance company
They'll probably value it as a base 318i pre-LCI or whatever, even though it's a fully optioned LCI with rare M Sport package

I just checked the date on my summer tires when I changed to them.
Made back in 2013. So probably time to have those changed...
Probably, most are due to be replaced at that age
Replaced 2011's last year on my parents car, the amount of thread left was fine but the dry cracks etc weren't
(2011 car tho, so probably it's first set of wheels in 120k km)
Tempted to just get a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4.
PS4S isn't a thing in my size, just the normal PS4
I saw a yellow 488 Pista yesterday

The guy who was driving it was a lovely bloke, let me pass him, and gave me thumbs up
It's ither the PS4, or Primacy 4. Which are more or less the same price.
Nice
I'll get new ones after the summer
Or atleast before the next annual check
It was an advisory point, but I've checked them all and they were all over the advisory limit, so idk why they wrote that down
Spotted in the wild
Turbo turbo ftw
oh yes new kaas incoming tomorrow yes @fair bronze

We review the 2020 Toyota Corolla Auris Hatchback with a 6 Speed Manual. Our previous reviews covered the automatic which left some people less excited. So take a journey and discover the good and bad one of the more exciting and affordable cars available. While the Mazda3, Hy...
oooh 944
944s are awesome
one of the best Porsches ever made imo
50:50 weight distribution
there's a reason so many people race them
the 944 turbos will outrun much more expensive 911s
Best Porsche? Interesting. I've always heard the na 944s were trash.
Sure they have close to 50:50, but they don't make power
When a slowtary of the same era is as fast, or faster, (and for half the cost) then idk how great it really is
944 MSRP in the early 80s was $24k USD, meanwhile the Mazda RX-7 of the same era was only $11k USD.
Half the price, similar performance
I've also heard that 944s are an absolute pita to work on, partially due to the rear transaxle
Meanwhile, my FB RX-7 is painfully simple to maintain.
944 is alright not sure if I'd call if the definitive best Porsche
It does have the ol' pop ups so it's ateast top 2
I did say one of, not the
they are great though
not the fastest, but power isn't what driving a Porsche is about
they're supposed to be raw sports cars
It's all about the driving experience
that's part of why 914s are great too
nothing extra, just you and the road
wow, SavageGeese reviewing Corollas almost non-stop now.
Nightshade with the 250 dollar badge blackout package.
"the stock system isn't terrible for music"
he hates american cars ππ
Well the audio portion of SG videos tends to be pretty objective considering they brought a guy in who is an audio engineer.
I'm a bit surprised they were so warm to the sound system on the rolla. It's not my favorite tbh. Perhaps that last chevy they tested really did scar them.
Still better than Ford's B&O system.
Still surprised he did so many Corolla videos. lol
Corolla Touring Sports when
Next one they can do is the GR
Pretty much
eh, I haven't heard really anything good about how 944s drive
From what I've been told, the na ones feel too limp
You have to have a turbo one or it doesn't even feel like a real sports car
It's a perfectly fine 80s car.
It's on par with other cars in the class. what makes it special tho are the Germanic prices on repair.
And the astounding pain in the ass to do literally any drivetrain work on it. Apparently you have to drop half the car to get at the clutch since it is a rear transaxle unit.
This video is an overview of the electric vehicle conversion I did on my 2001 VW Passat. I'm using a 90kw Siemens AC induction motor and a drive inverter I built myself.
You can read more about this conversion at http://etischer.com/awdev
===================================...
This guy is amazing.
Yeah I've already seen it, quite nice
@stoic ledge 00 new kaas i hav yes
Manual EV
Yes
Did someone say 944
We also have a Carrera four, 1 of one because of the wheels and lettering
The seats are the same color blue
π€π€π€
Someone bought our Shelby CSX shadow and we had to move a bunch to get it out
Wait till I'm faster than a turbo 944 in a triangle powered shitbox
Triangle power!
All I need is another FB, a turbo, and big boi carb
I just need a... uhhhhhhh
An old land cruiser
Probably gonna import the one the Japanese military uses.
i should convert my RX to a toyota harrier
ProCeed/Cerato GT
Kaas

There a Volvo Valp nearby this work place.
had to look it up
Nice, buy it
So a few months ago we sold a WS6 trans am to someone
Needless to say itβs well loved
is that an Ultima in the background of the second picture
Very much looks like one, yes
i gotta get me one of these
ls swap it
Send it to Jag for the EV conversion
^
i wonder if you could send a somewhat bad spares one and they wouldnt charge extra
ha in uk autotrader a 69 jag E type with 77k miles is only 45k
It's back?
Oof
EV E-Type is no E-Type
Then again a lot of the E-type conversions keep the engine bits in storage in case the owners wants to convert it back.
jaguar aint just gonna throw away ur engine
im not against an ev convert especially if the old engine would need a full rebuild or something
I have come up with a new goal; I'm going to build a MK7.5 sportwagen with a 2nd gen 07K, 6 speed manual, and Haldex 4Motion
Won't be for quite a while but it'll happen someday
lmao
@carmine summit I believe so
i thought youd like it lol
wow really good rickroll, didn't see it comin
idk how audi did it but they just made my favourite car more beautiful
which car?
a3 sedan
Really? Most people I've heard dislike the new A3 sedan
gotta love bad financial decisions
Luxus 220D, the ones known for the engines being unreliable
oh, diesel
Apparently Mazda diesels are popular
yea, I haven't really heard anything about Toyota diesels
What do you think the d in 220d stands for xD
Their Land Cruiser/Hilux diesela are good
Most Mazda diesels were borrowed btw
The SkyActive-D yes

Toyota doesn't make diesels anymore, except for the Land Cruiser/Hilux/Commercial vehicles
Lexus only has one diesel ever, and is was the IS 220d
Also, Land Cruiser in EU means the Prado
Is it? I have no idea
Same platform, different shell.
of course the only way to get a V8 on the platform is to go for a Lexus.
for real? No GX or LX?
Nein
Crazy. You'd think there'd be at least one person who'd want a GX Lexus.
Just to show off
Lexus doesn't really have the show-off status in Europe
They'd rather show off with a German car
I guess it's the same in the US if I think about it.
Lexus is the sensible choice for luxury, not the show off choice.
Yes
No clue why people buy Acura or Infiniti.
But nobody gets a Lexus, because the neighbours will wonder why you haven't got a insert German brand
Although, people who actually buy private cars new, tend do go brands like Lexus
of course they do
So people spending their own money get a Lexus
People with company cars get Germanz
That almost makes too much sense.
Ikr
lol
"I'm buying this car... it damn well better last me till my grandkids die of old age."
95% of Subaru buyers are also private buyers, nearly none are company cars
Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
I'd say good, since people trust their hard earned cash to them
Too bad 75% of new car sales are company cars
So Subaru doesn't move many cars a year
Yes
Oof 559 cars last year
0.12% market share
So 1 in every 834 cars was a Subaru
559... π€ oh right MK is from a small country, the figure doesn't mean anything
.12% market shareoh no they really do have a tiny share
Yeah that doesn't paint a pretty picture.
Double checked. Subaru in the US is about 4% of the marketshare.
680k units moved
Yeah Subaru really needs it from the US
One of the only automakers to actually grow in the past 20 years.
And yeah. Subaru is as American as Honda is these days. They NEED the US.
Although they also sell quite okay in Southern Germany, Austria etc, since they offer 4WD on all models which in great in the mountains
I imagine so.
Good for perception, not great for overall sales. yeah
Then again I'd call private sales a victory.
At least in the US where automakers try to avoid fleet sales. Toyota gets away with it somehow. lol
Honda has 3 Times the market share of Subaru
wow... .36%?
damn, almost
okay okay... I'm gonna guess now
Largest market share is... Toyota or Opel
But tbh, I think there's more profit in private cars sold than company cars
No, VW π©
oh wait... VW?
Opel second
Tesla 3rd last year with all the free Model 3's
Peugeot 4th
Toyota 5th
I wasn't expecting Toyota to do so poorly.
Radically different sales uhhhh... environment from the US.
6.02% market share isn't poorly tho
Best selling car was the Aygo
1/3rd of Toyota's marker share
My views are skewed since I owned a kei car for a few years.
(only 2 with a few months, but still)
Tesla 2019: #3 brand
Tesla Model 3 2019: #1 car
2020: #25 brand, #78 car
Don't think it's much larger than a Kei car tbh
Now I'm curious.
Length 3,455Β mm (136.0Β in)
It's a great looking car.
Kei car max 3.4m
Yeah, but lower
Okay so as you were saying. The Toyota Aygo is tiny.
Yes
xD
Also made in an alliance with Peugeot and Citroen
Selling the same car 3 times == cheaper
Although for some reason, the taillights have a different shape so the body panels are actually completely different
I never understood why
Changing plastic bumpers and headlights, that's cheap. But basically the entire metal body, that's strange
https://static.autoblog.nl/images/wp2014/mini-trio.jpg
Hope you can see it in the pictures
Same with the previous gen
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/23/Toyota_Aygo_Facelift_rear_20100412.jpg/1200px-Toyota_Aygo_Facelift_rear_20100412.jpg

Same with the previous generation
Like, they build the same car to cut costs... Only to make the main structure completely different π
To safe costs, they even made the trunk lid of glass only, just metal. Only the to make 2 different versions of it xD
Rear door sheet medal is different
And the taillight shape, which means the entire side panel of the car is too
yeah
Front is different too
https://media.autoweek.nl/m/m1mynbxbqbku_800.jpg
But fender/bumper is cheap to replace, so I get that
Just the rear light situation is kinda strange
They were also very, very, vary barebones
Yeah no just the side part
When you had power windows, you only had a control for the window on your side lol
Yeah that's the second gen (based on the first gen), much better
They also made 3 different models of them again:
https://media.autoweek.nl/m/m1myreibkf49_800.jpg
Peugeot/Citroen identical besides front, Aygo front and rear different
(it are the 3 in the front of the picture)
"convertible"
https://cdn.autowereld.nl/I367515990/640x0/toyota-aygo-1-0-vvt-i-72pk-5d-x-play.jpg
Not such a fan of the Facelift tho, it looks "sad"
That's being very generous to the definition of convertible.
That's an oversized sunroof.
It basically is, yes
@austere tusk the Yaris has nothing in common with the C1/108/107 xD
1.0 was Toyota, 1.4D and 1.2 VTi was Peugeot/PSA
Most components are from Toyota btw, not much is from PSA
@stoic ledge the a3 sedan is a sedan golf (i don't have to tell ya), I learned driving in one, and i prefer the design over the hatchback or golf or leon. And its perfect size for me π€
and ye im a bit late with that comment xd

An authentic SUV that combines Toyotaβs small car expertise and rich SUV heritage
Second model to be based on Toyotaβs GA-B platform, delivering distinctive design and dynamic performance
Featuring raised ground clearance, intelligent all-wheel drive and Toyotaβs 4th-generatio...
i thought the yaris was a hatchback
An authentic SUV that combines Toyotaβs small car expertise and rich SUV heritage
LOL
Is it the production model, or a concept?
Small cars sure, but it has nothing to do with their rich SUV heritage
If Ford can call the Edge ST a sports car.
hmh
I think Toyota can claim heritage... at least they have it to claim.

hmmhh
Does the US have the CH-R?
derbis limiter is set way too low
Nice looks, aggressively average car
the new Escape is hideous
and the arse end of it looks like a chevy
Escape looks better in ST-Line trim xD
oh
The Chevy looks better imho
no kidding
lok looks a bit better
still ugly front end
wtf is the gas door up front?
or is it a phev?
PHEV
ford ought to cancel the mach e

I like the Mach E in styling tbh.
I think it looks odd from the rear
then its fine i suppose
but they just copied tesla for the interior, which is disappointing
I'd just call it Mach-E
honestly the mach e is what the model y should have been
instead of a rebadged model 3
I'd say it's more than a rebadged 3.
ok a slightly taller model 3
with more plastic cladding to make it look like a contemporary crossover
Imagine using it as a 7 seater
I'm a fan of the more angular styling.
And certainly a fan of an actual instrument cluster.
I'll be interested to see if the 3rd row is even remotely usable
I know it's absolutely not in the RX350L
Imagine being able to purchase a non-hybrid Lexus
I sat in one, with the 2nd row touching the first row it was unusable
Tesla Model S 3rd row was for small kids.
much less with the 2nd row in a normal place
The 3rd row is usable in our Explorer
a mid size suv
Mustang Mach E will be the same assuming anyone actually specs it.
^
Oh the Model Y has a 3rd row?
as an optoin yes
For like... people who didn't survive the French Revolution... or like human beings with heads?
idk
Yes
The one in our explorer is usable, even for me (bit small), but you don't have a ton of cargo space with the 3rd row up
thing about our explorer is that its "technically" a 7 seater, but in practice its only 6 seats
2,2,2 instead of 2,3,2
Remember when the Rogue had 3 row seats?
i don't
X-Trail, yes
For only 2 years.
how small was it
My parents old Peugeot could be gotten with a 3rd row
Looking at my family's Rogue... it must have been painfully small.
Also: yes, you could get a green cloth interior
π
@dense shard
https://img.indianautosblog.com/2016/02/2016-Nissan-X-Trail-third-row-seat.jpg
This is the Rogue
Looks like fun
Hmmmm we never got it as a hybrid
Also discontinued. Supposedly used Toyota's system.
wait im confused yaris suv
yaris is tiny :(
like really tiny
pls dont tell me thats gonna be another t-cross
and wtf is that 3rd row
legs not allowed o.o
pls dont tell me thats gonna be another t-cross
Like VW started it π€ They were basically the last
is buying a foam cannon worth it?
If you have a pressure washer, sure
yes we do
Some people will swear by it
cause its one of the big powerful gas ones
I'm buying a pressure washer when I get a job.
i feel like a foam cannon would be hella better for the paint
instead of buckets
beacuse the dirt slides off instead of getting caught up in your brush and going into thje bucket
wow
Blew an Apex seal last year on the track and finally rebuilt it since I have nothing else to do
Reliable engine
As long as you use synthetic, yes
Mine is the exact opposite of reliable lmao
the car loves to make sludge with dino oil
People who stretched there intervals, a few had the motor die at 50k miles
and used basic dino oil*
Well that's where ignorance gets people tbh
If you change it often enough, and if you use synth, its a good motor
I had to do valve cover gaskets recently, and it was really clean inside. No sludge.
That's how almost every engine is though honestly
pain in teh ass might I add xD
on mine the whole intake manifold has to come off
as well as the throttle system
and the airbox and stuff
and the battery
xD
Yeah my whole engine has to come out
Front mid-engine
Mine's got a tiny rear main leak
and I frankly don't care enough
to drop the motor to fix it
Understandable
It's tiny.
Like the only reason we know its there is because we were all underneath it disassembling stuff to do valve covers
lol
I just set my Rx8 with an SOHN adapter so I can have my oil meter pump use fresh 2-stroke as opposed to dirty 4-stroke oil and I still premix my fuel just to be safe
Nice
The manual in mine says to use premium fuel.. it's been running fine for 21 years on regular, it'll keep runnign fine on regular π€£
Lol
It doesn't need premium anyways, its a low stress NA V6
Yeah mine would blow another seal if I use anything less than 91
NA 2-dorito spinny boi
I drive my grandpa's 07 RX350 and that one has way more pep
and loooooads more torque
Ah a bigger v6
Mines 220hp, that one is 270, but has a fair bit more torque and a way better transmission
Close enough lol
oof his 07 is only at 51k miles
Mine's got about 250hp and 159 ft-lbs of torque
I have 155k
Plan on putting another 100k before I put in another engine
But knowing how unreliable the Renesis engine is I'd be lucky to get 60k
Lol
I bought it for like $900 in no start condition back in '15 all I did was put in a new starter and she barked to life
oh nice
Then I blew the motor 4 years later
My motor has some sort of gremlin that appears to wake up every 6 months on the money then piss off again xD
I've yet to figure out wtf it is
Lol
It sounds like rod knock
but rod knock cant come and go
if youve got rod knock, you've got rod knock
Luckily I only have to worry about $200 worth of seals
And 24 hours worth of labor
that's happened twice. Exactly 6 months apart, and the same issue each time.
then it buggers off and runs great
It could be carbon deposits
Yes, both times it had oil.
But I'm not a piston engine mechanic so...
Hmm... wouldn't that manifest itself all the time though?
see I'm completely stumped, so is my dad and grandfather π€£
Depends on many factors really
that time it had been sitting for a few days
Could be timing which is unlikely
but the second time, I was driving it then stopped at a stop sign and it started bouncing revs all over the place and shuddering
so I pulled olff into a parking lot, turned it off, restarted it and it did that noise
Sounds like an issue with your compression
So I called my dad, he came over in abt 20 mins and took a look, it did it then too
then we turned it off again
and turned it back on
and the f**king thing was fixed
Could be your maf sensor, throttle body...etc
neither time it threw any code
I've had 2 CELs, both for the same irrelevant thing
and unrelated to said problem^
90's tech isn't really the best at detecting issues though
both times it was an evap code, it went out of spec for like just a second and triggers it, then I clear it and its gone for a long time
yeah idk
I know it detects issues with MAF
My 2004 has some 90's tech because Mazda decided to cheap out on a few things
because people have posted about limp mode from MAF
where it locks out OD for some reason
well "overdrive" in big air quotes because it's really not
top gear is still like 1.1:1
Some evap codes could also cause issues with the airflow in the engine
A good example is O2 sensors or Catalytic converters
If those mess up your engine could run too rich, too lean, not at all or sound like it's knocking
hmm, maybe. I have a bit of an exhaust leak
(The gasket thing after the flex pipe needs replacing)
The little exhaust donut that connects the headers to the mid pipe?
it only makes noise under engine load tho (not rpm, load)
Yes, I have video
Turn down volume
Ear warning
you can see it come out
Yeah that's right in between the cat and mid pipe
i'd put money on those bolts being hella seized in there
Lucky you lol
we have rain but rarely do we ever get snow
Mine has a rust spot developing on the driver side skirt
Which I would fix but I don't feel like it's a good idea to leave the house for something that's not groceries right now
where do you live?
The states
Not a safe state I can tell you that
oh boy
I'm in WA
we had some of the first cases but have done well with closures and stuff, and aren't increasing like crazy anymore
We had the coast guard escorting us home if we didn't have a good excuse to be outside
only minor increase, mostly level off
OOF
here they have a "stay at home order" but its not enforced
mostly just social distancing + closures of nonessential buisness
In other news I will get that rust spot before it gets too bad
Because I dont feel like having to chop off the whole skirt and weld on a new one
Oof yeah
I need to get new bumpers, but I can't find any in the right colour
since they only made my color for part of the first model year
as near as I can tell I have one of the first few hundred RXs ever produced
hello
hi

My colleagues and I going to our place of work this morning.
thats a nice 370z
Hmmmm yes
The Chevy Sanic

Does anyone know a good brand that makes intercoolers? Want to get some more power/reduce the turbo lag on my is220d
edit- badly worded question
I know a bit about turbos
an intercooler won't reduce lag but you can gain power because the cold air is more dense
if you just have a stock engine though a water injection kit might be better, you'll gain power and it can sometimes help reduce turbo lag, and you don't have to wait for water to spool
as far as I know Snow Performance is the best when it comes to water/meth kits
they're owned by Nitrous Express now, https://www.nitrousexpress.com/water-methanol/
Thanks ill read into it
Water/meth injection works for diesels?
New headlights
Why not just clean the old ones
Because the mounts were broken on them
ah
I sorta want new lenses. Possibly new housing and stuff too.
Before I really wanted angel eyes.
But not anymore?
I'm tempted to buy projectors for my car
Very nice
Very nice indeed
You clock is set wrong tho (10:38 AM whereas the image timestamp says 11:38) π
