my daily driver is a VW Polo 5, i cant fit anything in there basically
free cars are always great
even my 1992 honda concerto was bigger, and had better features
I've fit two flat screens + a whole crapload of Costco groceries & 3 people into mine
i went on a 2 week road trip with mine, + 1 person and like, a tent, table, and basically everything you need to be comfortable for 2 weeks
but then the head gasket blew the first time, got it fixed, blew again after 4k km, and now i have the VW
My truck has a nice comfy bed
Made out of the finest steel
I want to put the Koenigsegg LFG in a Caterham.
i think i'm just gonna buy a completely new engine for the honda tbh
I had to do valve cover gasket on mine recently, that was a pain in the arse
Damn transverse v6
the 1.6L 16V version that to my knowledge only got sold in japan
Same motor
Exactly
it indeed is a civic engine, but in a not very civic looking car
I had a Honda push mower from 1993
yeah, i have one lawnmower engine and one scooter engine lying around, but i have other plans with those
It kept going until last year
When I didn't wanna do new rings
It faithfully mowed my lawn for many years
And, there was never a time when I had to pull the cord twice
It started first pull everytime
Even when I stored it over winter with stale fuel
2 or 4 stroke?
4 stroke
ok, thats understandable then
i have a 1981 zΓΌndapp moped, i have to pedal it for about a kilometer before it even starts running on its own
I'm sure that if I replaced the rings in it, it would keep going
oh, so busted rings?
And a John Deere zero turn
LOL
New Holland ftw
best lawnmower ever
Deutz Fahr
very nice
now, what color should i choose for the corsa, or what set of colors? its currently... more or less blue
#FF69B4
@boreal rose jesus get some axle stands, before u kill yourself
as long as its a pop up one, its cool
87 prelude
oi @stoic ledge ill drive that car to my "prom" so definetly no #FF69B4 π€£
honda concerto ftw btw
It's been a long time since I last saw one of those
What is
Prius fastest car in the world
Oof
Amusingly a fair share of BMWs crash as well.

Kia looking good these days.
That being said. I like the interior of my Corolla more.
Corollas are indestructible. My 2000 literally blew up on me and then started without hesitation the next day.
Legitimately not hyperbolizing or exaggerating in any way.
There is something weird with our Volvo... when you press the gas pedal it sounds like it has a like turbo or something... but when you take out the phone charger it stops...
Sounds kinda dope ngl
Sounds like a electric car kinda...
I don't know anything of what it could be. But for some reason the first thing that came to my mind was alternator bearings x'D
I had an old Chevy 350 that had a giant window through the block and was missing two rods, and the person drove it to my shop

As the boys (and the film crew) will now admit, this is the scariest challenge they ever faced in the history of the show. "Survival Challenge in Alabama": Drive through Alabama with offensive slogans painted on their cars and try not to get killed. Things are tense on the hig...
i like how even though these guys went through the middle east, south africa, and Chernobyl, the closest the came to getting killed was in Alabama
What? The model 3 doesn't have a screen on the steering wheel.
Instrument cluster is nice.
I despise most modern interiors
they are too empty
and all these screens make it look like that tablets were lazily glued to the dash instead of actually being part of the design
modern interior design is fucking horrid
I don't mind stuck on screens tbh
It usually looks better than forcing them into the dash
And they're more accessible this way
There's a few bad ones ( new explorer )
But like the one in the Model 3 looks and works fa better than the one i. The model s
I also think that a physical spedometer/tachometer working together with digital screens looks far nicer
like a hybrid display system
all digital imo looks too flat, empty and lazy
Genesis G70 has that
Tho the screen is smol
I don't like digital clusters most of the time tbh
Tesla one is ok but like the new bmw one is horrid
but like I hate how basic manufacturers are making dashes and their displays
and how cheap and basic the interiors look
I hate this floating display shit, looks like glued tablets to a dash
and the other alternative being a screen coming out of the dash but morphed into it looks yuck too
it looks like a tablet in a hub
that dash looks good except that main screen
I hate integrated instrument panels on the nav screen.
I hate how far up it comes out
I don't mind screens in cars but I'm in the huge minority
The point of that is so you don't have to look as far away from the road
Honestly the height of the nav screens hasn't been an issue for me.
If I was left in a room with no responsibilities for a week, I could design a fucking way better dashboard than 90% of automakers today
designwise
probably
It's alright, but I've always found the Germans to be a bit staid and generic.
Ngl I 100% prefer the stuck on screen to the ones that are super set in
germans usually like to keep to what they know will work and focus on keeping build quality high
I love japanese cars
but Euro cars imo had a slightly superior build quality until about 2010
Especially when it comes to VW interiors.
wtf USDM shit is that
That's my Corolla.
Lol I'd get a Japanese car over a German car every time
Leather interior.
I aint never seen any Australian corolla like that
I'll take it anything the Germans have shit out recently.
It's the new E210 generation.
My 21y/o Japanese car is doing hella better than a 21y/o German car
Corsa best interior
then again all aussie corollas are just the japanese models
I love the E46 interior.
My car is a Japanese model.
But I might be partial.
Or rather built in Japan.
no but the literal exact same as the car sold in japan, RHD and all
USDM corollas would have slight differences
and LHD
The styling will be identical between JDM and USDM.
Only real difference on styling is the front emblem.
some models of Jap cars get horrific different styling for the US market
like wtf why
Different markets.
The Japanese companies put the effort in to cater to local markets.
US market be out there buying ugly shit?
Sedan has an ugly front
Which is important.
You can't improve perfection ^^
also the new kluger looks horrid compared to its predecessor
I'm not a massive fan of the new 'rolla front end, but I'd hardly call it ugly.
Hatchback styling is great, sedan is just there.
Look at how menacing this looks for a modern SUV
now look at this ugly shit
WTF happened

The main thing I don't like I about the BMW G20 interior is the instrument cluster.
Yeah the G20 cluster is meh
Call it good or bad.
But you can solve that by not going with the fancy functions that you need to get.
I'd still buy it tho
At least BMW got the functionality down the first time.
It's like the OG 80s dash, but for the 21st century.
Early 2000s?
I can understand why people don't like the BMW interior, because of how similar it always is.
But I like it.
I don't like older BMW interiors because they age horribly.
It's not the styling, it's the quality.
Corsa is 2006-2014
there were older corsas?
Yeah but the interior I linked xD
Headliner sag, panels coming apart, LCDs failing, and generally cheapness.
And then you get all of the 90s issues that all cars had.
I've even had LCD's fail in 3 year old Ford's
Shitty radio controls.
I don't think I've ever seen an RX with a sagging headliner
And general QC apathy.
Not that I'm even sure it CAN sag
have this bad boy right here
I've never seen an Opel with sagging headliner
But I've never really seen a car with sagging headliner
(irl that is)
Monte_Carlo, Nothing really wrong with the E46 interior.
I see lots of Jeeps won't sagging headliners
The AU falcon.
Weirdly enough
Generations past that, however. OH BOY.
What?
That whole generation of BMW is π
ngl tho the TE50 actually looks decent, the body really fills the whole design out and makes it look less boat like
E39, E46, etc.
E60 M5 looks nice but the interior is mediocre. The engine is cool but unreliable
The E60 always looked bloated to me.
Imo the E60 M5 is the best looking 5er
Falcon > Taurus
Don't get the Ford Taurus here in Swedenland.
Falcon superior
It's unfortunate cause it really handles very well for a big car
And has loads of power
Aussie had it until 2016
Trunk is absolutely enormous
E39 best BMW ^^^^^^^
we made the v8 falcon into an inline 6 turbo monster
the Barra 4L inline 6 is bulletproof af
easily handles up to 600bhp stock internals
That's basically all of the Ford vehicles here in Sweden.
We've got a '14 explorer too
It's got a few problems tho ππππ
At least we get Fiesta.
We don't even get the S-Max and Galaxy anymore
Fiesta ST is π
Fiesta is nice yes
They should have made the RS with an auto
Only adds unnecessary weight
The FoRS came with too large rims. Don't @ me.
-1 inch for the Focus RS is where it's at.
Ferrari would have to make a tiny displacement turbo engine to compete in the WRC.

It would probably catch fire 3 minutes in.
You either play by the rules or you gtfo
I want the new 2.0 3 cylinder from Koenigsegg to be in every car ever.
Oof
im good thanks
Who knows. Maybe developing a WRC engine will help them in F1.
I'll keep the Barra 4L inline 6
600 hp from a 2 liter, 3 cylinder.
Yaris Cup?
cute toyota
my friend made these renders
It's a perfect engine for engine swapping small cars.
Hopefully my engine will last into the heat death of the universe.
at the low low price of several hundreds of thousands

yes let me put in an engine from a car that costs more than my house into this $500 1999 Ford Ka

financially thats a horrific decision
Financially all engine swaps are horrific decisions.
Is an LS Worth more than a US house?
Depends on the house.
Really though, when it comes to the new Koenigsegg engine. I just want every car to have Freevalve.
Freevalve is cool.
what house are you seeing that costs less than $3000
Where can I get a built LS for 3000 dollars?
who said built
just an old one from a written off car or used secondhand there are several for that cheap
fix it up
simple
second hand vettes aren't cheap
you dont buy the whole car mayne
You don't want a second hand LS car for 3000 dollars.
That's not cheap.
also in aus LS engines are everywhere and cheap af
Unless you are super patient, lucky, and have connections.
because commodores
US had a rebadged Commodore for a few years.
Flopped hard.
Turns out the enthusiasts didn't want it.
blame GM for not fucking advertising it at all or offering the Ute or Wagon or any good trim levels
It was the V8 trim with all the goodies.
all GM did was brought the most basic ass V6 and V8 sedans and were dumbfounded
The trim the fans wanted.
A Good Chevy for 70k
because its 100% a holden and not a chevy
That's still a GM car.
That uses GM parts bin.
I guess that explains why people are importing commodores to the USA and making LHD commodores to Australian spec
That's news to me.
and rebadging SSes and G8s with holden bumpers and badges
some people importing utes and wagons
Only if they're 25 years or older.
nope
I guarantee you those people are far fewer in number.
people import the VE and VF gen utes and wagons and put the bodies on a G8/SS chassis
uhhhh
making it still technically a G8 or SS
Chevy has a pretty poor reputation here tbh
That's not how it works.
GO READ MY COLUMN HERE: http://autotradr.co/Oversteer
I really think General Motors should've sold the Holden Ute in the United States -- so I reviewed a Holden Ute located in California to demonstrate exactly why.

yes you can lmao9
no you can't
Trust us.
racing
US laws are notorious.
show
Racing, show is NOT road legal.
the chassis, engine and such are all still a G8 or SS
Some shitty wagon isn't going to qualify
the only difference is ths Australian body
The chassis is unibody
You can't swap bodies without swapping VINs.
And that stupid illegal.

there is no vin swap
also this vid explains it all
Then tl;dr it for us.
You don't seem to understand US law tbh.
Indiana has a thing called state of body transfer
which allows a new vin to be applied to a car
which has had a body transfer
essentially a retitle
hello collorado plate
That's one state.
Hello New York
And importing, and transferring hardware to another car is difficult, legally sketchy, and then you have issues of registration and insurance.
Great, show us a few thousand.
And I'll admit it's common place.
Cause I've seen more Skylines in the US.
For the last two years, Left Hand Utes have been importing Utes into the U.S. and converting them to LEFTHAND DRIVE! Our Left Hand Utes are converted by stripping the Ute to bare body. We replace the firewall and rebuild the car from components using all AMERICAN standard part...
he imports the aus commodores as parts cars
That's not the same as road legal.
the aus cars were never meant to be driven on the roads as is
and this is all VERY sketchy
...
they use the aus cars as parts cars for their bodies and interior parts to put on a G8/SS
You can't use the bodies.
thats how he bloody does it though
They're unibody. You would be literally VIN swapping, and that's literally illegal.
also VINs are still intact
VINwiki story took a very shady route.
If it has a AUS vin, it can't be registered to US roads.
Unless it is 25 years or older.
Or has been federalized.
there are several cars in the US and were sold in the US with aus vins
there are USDM spec cars were made in aus
Because they were likely federalized.
right
USDM spec
You can't sell ADM spec cars in the US.
Different standards.
AUDM
whatever
also the US G8/SS vin remains
look idk but somehow there are loopholes and shit and several people have done this
and there are holden utes and wagons in the US
which are road legal with clean titles
so somehow they are doing it
and obviously there must be vins of the original G8/SS still intact
That's so sketchy.
well its reality and its done there
You can either rebuild the car from the frame up.
Including rewelding parts.
That is incredibly high effort.
a simple rebadge to put original holden badging on but now virginia
yes I see Acuras with Honda badges here all the time.
I can put JDM badges on my car as well.
also Torana in cali
That's over 25 years old.
im moving on from just commodores now
holden in general
I cant tell these plates but US
Indiana's laws are lax it seems.
yes they are
Not meant for this.
but its used for it
Likely mean for conversion vans.
So to legalize a Ute in the US. You must have a preexisting car on the same platform, pay a guy to rebuild it from essentially the ground up, and then happen to be living in Indiana.
That's not exactly easy, cheap, or fast.
2 maloos that were at sema
This will probably be the last episode for a while, but in this one I visit one of my happiest places on Earth, Left Hand Utes in Denver, Colorado. If you've ever wanted a modern day El Camino or Nomad wagon, there is where to get one.
Yes I'm not denying the exist.
I'm just denying they're all that popular.
I haven't seen any in the Southeast... ever.
Okay.
I'm part of Toyota communities because I own a Corolla.
It's amusing to see how popular the new Corolla hatch is.
Yet I don't really see em in my area.
I'm just not a huge fan of GM or Ford these days.
Or Chrysler.
Because all three have made terrible business decisions recently I feel.
Including abandoning a huge slice of the market despite finally having competitive products.
anyway moving on
Unlike Kyza Saleem or whatever his name is and bradbuilds, my friend Oleg makes decent looking renders and not kitbashed trash
no need to bash kit bashing

Guess what I bought today
(more pics to follow probably
collecting it next thursday)
Low mileage
190E is on my bucket list of cars I'd like to own someday
Too bad it's not a 190d
Still cool tho. Probs one of the few Merc generations I can stand
Me scouting out my exhaust so I can make plans on upgrading it
also found part of my exhaust leak
Also realizing that there's emissions shit I'm going to have to deal with pretty quickly after I replace the cat
like, there's a pipe that comes from the intake manifold down into the catalytic converter
like, wtf
and then I gotta toss the air/smog pump and then put block plates over the ACV valve
and block plate that pipe that comes out of the intake
then I'll be emissions free and have smoother idle, more power, and significantly better exhaust note
And since there's no good guides on how to do this crap, I might make a guide
Since I couldn't find replacement center caps, I decided to see if I could just remake it in Fusion360
what a god
I'll likely print the test in black, or whatever color I have avaliable
It actually wasn't that hard x'D
The hardest thing was learning to use Fusion360.. again.
Mmm.... if I could get this injection molded, or get some silicone so I can make mold and then make it out of resin, I'd go for this design.
But looking at the preview for the print, it's gonna take almost 10 hours, and will likely be flimsy.
lol
Gen 1 and 3 exist as match box cars
My car has no headunit, only a Radio, and this is my solution for GPS
I'm using my old phone as an android headunit
Who likes FJ Cruisers?
@civic girder 190D nahh Gasoline bb
@fair bronze 2.5D is not too slow
I will get a BEV myself.
But without any concerns about environment. Just out of a financial and luxury standpoint.
yea that's fine, I posted the graphic more as a reference for a conversation I had on here a little while ago
Ah okay. Like... There is no reason to go into hydrogen, as its more logic to make more accumulators instead of converting it into hydrogen as you would need 3 times the energy of what you need by using it by BEVs
yes, do it
Forgot to post the test fit pic
Was almost perfect. Had to expand the clips about 2mm to be a tight fit
Went out to Microcenter to pick up some silver PLA, so the color matches as close as possible, without me having to actually spray paint the cap xD
Major news: Waymo has announced theyβre considering shutting down their Robotaxi service
They would leave it to others to build vehicles and Robotaxi services with their technology https://t.co/KRJkqzDILf
That moment when you are a complete nerd about CitroΓ«n and they mention them in the WAN show π€€
lol wtf
LED INTENSIFIES
looking good
I fixed the damn annoying rattle my car had.

@hardy viper the older models where best, plus they still get plenty of love in aus through people building full engine kits for them
the only way to fix the rattle on my exhaust is to just cut the catalytic converter out and sell it for scrap
the thing that makes the rattle is the cat heat shield, which you have to drop the exhaust to remove
may as well keep the cat off and put new pipe on instead
Or keep it in, and protect the environment.
^
your car is also new
even though the RX-7's cat is fucked, I can probably get $100 out of it
and has much more optimized exhaust systems
my car is 21
I'll probably replace it when it comes time.
probs longer than 20 years, realistically
Or pull one off an older car.
Chopping them out will make it fail inspection here
Realistically life of the car.
we don't have inspection
what inspection
i know
and my exhaust is very restrictive
Lucky bastards
I plan on keeping my car federalized as long as possible.
yea, if the cat on the Prius fails, we'll see how good we can make a Prius sound
Oh yeah, I found a new weird problem with my car
(yes, another one)
when its freezing out, and I get up to highway speed, the car makes a loud droning/resonance sound
only on one side
(passenger side)
that's probably where your exhaust leak is
only at 60+?
since the pipe isn't up to temp yet (I'm assuming), its being fucky
changing door seals doesn't seem that hard, so once I get paid, time to order some
yea, I still need to get the pre-silencer, pipe, and flange gaskets for the RX-7
im pretty sure i konw where it is
in that video its where those two parts join up
when i rev it in park you can see it
you want to know the easy way to find out? Lay down on the ground next to the car and have someone tap the throttle
when i load the engine in drive/reverse it sputter-noises because I assume the torquing in the engine mounts openes a bigger hole
i set my phone under there
(my old phone)
ah
you can literally see the smoke
mhm
i assume that's where the noise is coming from
sounds like its in that vicinity too
most likely
my dad picked up a gasket thing, hope its the right one
need to get around to replacing that, and also put my engine cover back on and stuff
The white is my cat, which is blown out somewhere under it's heat shield (which is why the shield rattles). The red are just holes that got blown out in the midpipe
white is the down pipe, which I hope I won't have to replace
red is possibly a resonator, but idk what it is for sure
and blue is where the cat heat shield has fallen apart and where I suspect the rattle comes from
Where I work we had some new pre-reg cars come in
The red Suzuki swift is a hybrid and came with a flat traction battery and 12v
The engine also won't start
Been here 3 weeks now and still no progress π
Swift "Hybrid", it's a mild Hybrid xD
I don't see how they get away with the name swift when it clearly isn't XD
No worse than modern German cars.

Mercedes C300 isn't a 3 liter...
At least Mercedes/BMW naming is historically correct
Audi's naming scheme makes no sense at all
Ah yes, we have zhe new Audi A4 35 TFSI
Turns out to be 150hp
Remember. Even numbers are coupes unless they are gran coupe, then they have 4 doors
Well Audi has the Sportback, which in the case of the A3 is the 5 doors hatchback but in de A5 is a "coupe" and as a Q3 it's a "coupe SUV"
But I thought you meant the engine naming scheme
coupeUV
citroΓ«n ftw tho

I'm gonna be fitting hydro to my Roma soon too as the rear sub frame was fucked by the last owner
C5 jacked up in the highest suspension setting looks kinda cool

I'm part of the ds3 discord server even tho I got ds5

I've driven a DS 5 once, it had a super high dashboard imho
Made it kinda hard to look out
Try raising the seat lol
Couldn't really, or my head was too high to the sealing

But then my head is 1cm away from a glass panel... Not really to happy with that xD

Wait what? xD
I don't have a Citroen xD

A) Cheaper to tax
B) Cheaper to refuel
C) Cheaper to insure
Nope 0 charging points
HAHAHAHAHA no thank you
A Nissan S-Cargo
Aixam e-city
I just came
Look at that beauty
Got the same seats as mine too
Reliable old beasts them c5's are
Unless you are a knob driver
My dad blew the engine up on ours so I'm replacing it
Oof
Well tbh it's not really the buy price of which I'm worried, but when I have to pay that much to get it taxed and imsured and everything I can just as well buy a much newer car
But old citroens such as the C5 have hydro suspension
Sounds like money
If anyone wants to know anything citroen hmu
French + Technology usually means implosions
Hydro is nice, but I prefer the newer model C5
But they all have extremely high mileage, or the bad 1.6 THP 150/156, or no Hydro
Not bad

A Citroen... better?
Far so
I'm actually very interested in this car
π€’
I believe it.
cool
And it's in a nice trim, not too many miles, very acceptable price and it's from the 1st private owner: no company car so it's well looked after
super nice
I'm not allowed to buy it sadly: to wide for our driveway. Otherwise I would have bought it probably
That's... wow
Interesting fact: finding a mustang in the uk is very rare. Any more than an EcoBoost engine is even more rare
The Insignia isn't that wide.
You'd be surprised how little width changes amongst cars
It's 5 inches wider than my current Corsa, leaving the path besides it just 28 inches wide. Which isn't a lot, especially since my parents have to go past it on a bike
5 inches is pretty massive tbh.
Nearly 80mm is it
Oof 37km on bikr
No thnx
Literally faster than public transport
Up several steep hills on a bike... but only a couple of kilometers.
But no
Either way I'm just glad I'm out of school.
Only 2 more years if everything goes the way I want it
I got GCSE's in may then into an apprenticeship with guess who?
Jeremy Clarkson
Not wuite
James May
Richard Hammond?
Charles Peugeot
Pretty much
Oof
That moment when you need a car but are stuck to the aixam coupe s
30mph in a 400cc diesel
But that's before a bit of tinkering π
Suzuki Cervo... turbocharged 660cc
60 in the 'zuki.
I'm not sure I agree.
The engine my car was a gem.
Smooth and pretty good on power.
Maintenance and reliability just ain't good tho
The ignis is the worst I have to deal with
Still an ass to work on
How so?
Sliced the back of my wrist multiple times trying to remove oil filter
4g63 anybody??
lmao
XUD7 anyone?
my and my buddy are building a 4g63t to roughly 700 whp
Joking aside, my friend has a Galant VR-4 with that engine.
in a 1994 awd eagle talon
