I already did a test drive. It reaches 45mph just fine (the fastest speed on the roads I take to work)
I just can't get near 4k rpm, or it pulls itself back.

The RX-7 did something similar to that once, when the last fuel pump was dying

#

if the pump started to die on you, you could usually get it to keep going by mashing the throttle and dropping a gear, but the engine would not sound pleased and it would get stuck at like 5k rpm (there's no rev limiter, it just did that on its own)
