I just figured out why the gearing and engine in the 320i are so odd, you can easily 40kph in 5th gear
You shouldn't tho
Corsa = best car pogey
Wish I could say the same
It'll probably do 30kph but then it's idling basically
I'd change below 1000rpm and then it's like 35kph
I can do 100kph in 2nd gear π
Driveability of my fiat is pretty crap compared nto my gfs 320i π I get why most folks get diesels and automatics
Petrol + manual ftw
My leg never hurts after long drives
For me only when I drive something without cruise control
And then only on really long drives
Manual is fun
I haven't tried it yet but I can probably get to 90 km/h in 2nd gear in my car
my arse hurts before my legs on long drives
(long meaning 4+ hrs)
Which is pretty weak lol
But you've got a granny car, it should be comfy
True, seats lose their shape when they're old
That's why church benches as car seats are the best: they don't lose their shape
Your butt does
Lol yes indeed
I do notice the difference between the drivers seat and the passenger seat
Passenger seat is harder since it's been used much less
Oh bench seats lose shape.
And in older cars they start to sag like an old crappy couch.
No no, actual church benches xD
"Hey Turbo Yoda, you think this would fit my Honda?"
I can't even think how he would respond to this genius question @fair bronze
Model Y is just a lifted Model 3 lol
yes
I mean it also has a full panoramic roof, a hatchback instead of a trunk, optional back seats...
it's not "just a lifted Model 3"
It's supposed to be built in the same platform.
Assuming Tesla is not putting their pants on their head.
3rd row seats with that roofline GWmythiBlobLUL no thnx
3rd row seats with any roof is a nope they take up valuble space
@dense shard Elon is the type of person to do that
3rd row in our SUV is pretty functional actually
As long as the 3rd row is actually usable.
(and easily folds flat)
It's using the same platform, but they are making some changes to it
75% similar components between the 3 and Y
" The optional third row of seats will reportedly cost $3000 and won't be available until later in the Model Y's production cycle."
ouch
Built @Ford tough. Thanks @Avis for this car! Leaking everywhere. https://t.co/pRV5KArYSW
255
poor man
yea
Probably a seal damaged or missing around the roof rack area
So my cars traction control system failed and locked up my engine while I'm on vacation fml
Well I don't have a car but I do have a sled
It's liquid cooled so eh
Means no long dry runs
500k vins registerd? thats not cars sold wtf
yes
expect it has never overheated
escoooooooooooort
it needs some cooling
i think
ye lul
we remember takin all the fun out of that car
tempature gauge was overdoing its maxium
as there was any fun in it

No we don't have snow yet here
I'm inpatient
That's an older photo
Here's a vid of it running this fall
Nice
I like the older sleds
The 1980's skidoo citations are some of my fav
Air cooled
Light
And reliable
we have an 1992 yamaha venture
artics cat panthera efi something lol
somy lynx
and ski doo something
cant remember em at all
we have an ski doo
lemme google it again
this
exactly this
then this
all the snowmobiles we have
I just found a Phazer 2 with a freshly rebuilt engine for $500
I think I need a part time job
So I don't think I want a Phazer 2, but I'm going to look at an original Phazer this weekend
I was perfectly happy, then this conversation happened and I want a snowmobile
Gonna keep my eyes open for a 144" track and suspension and maybe some wider skis
Don't want to spend more than $1000 on it because I'm in high school and have a car
Hmmm
With that money you shouldn't buy a performance sled
Too many things could be wrong
And pray the oil pump works
And make sure it has mix oil too
VW and a bunch of other companies agreed to build cars to the California emissions standards
Good for them
And here I thought everyone is pretty much on the side of bureaucratic inertia here.
ah, so there is more nuance to the story. gg headlines
That being said I'm still annoyed that the automakers are trying to pull this shit. It won't lower car prices, it won't help consumers, and at this point it's bad optics.
"The Trump administration contends that freezing the fuel economy standards will reduce the average sticker price of new vehicles by about $2,700 by 2025"
It won't.
Nvm X)
"Disregard peasants, acquire currency."
interesting
they're being sued over it because it might be against competition law for them to agree to build cars to California emissions standards
No wonder the environmental lobby struggles in the US
Getting rid of unions won't do anything.
So basically whatever the news may be here.
Automakers have universally turned their backs on the Obama era goals.
gg automakers
Well I wasn't expecting Ford to be getting sued over better fuel economy standards... but good for them.
We got a grand visitor on our street today.
How is that relevant to cars?
It was the local bus that took a wrong turn.
me installed new exhaust yes
I think that I need new tires.
naww
They are only 10 years old.
But I checked my dimensions for my winter rims. And this changes what I'm getting a little bit.
Since those rims were 15 inchers.
195/65R15
they are already ruined
tbh the place where my car is at
has 10cm of snow
all came today
Do I replace my summer tires and put winters on those?
Or do I just replace the tires on the winter tires?
No idea. honestly.
If I replaced the summer tires. Then I'd get a new set for next season.
Might just replace the rims as well?

Good ol' CBR125
4cyl sounds win tho
DOT 06-91 glare before 2000, it were only 3 number codes glare
@viral matrix but can urs spit flame
Yes
You can spit close to 20cm flames by messing with the engine kill switch whole engine braking
And it sounds like a gun firing off while doing it
Also it backfires sometimes while engine braking at high revs
One of the benefits of a carburated engine

@viral matrix Why would I do that when I can buy a real one and buy a flamethrower
its a shame that getting cars repainted is so bloody expensive (and hard to get right)
What, repainting your Lexus?
just the bumpers
front and back
theyve been dented real bad by the previous owner
and ive just been living with it
probabky not
im about to buy a new car soon and suggestions im looking for 2 or 4 door sedan with a small engine v4
I4*
Depending on how new, what price range, where (US, Asia, Europe etc)...
Toyota Corolla.
Always the answer
If smaller: Mazda 2 sedan/Toyota Yaris (if US xD )
Yaris bad. Corolla better.
(not that I'd ever buy a small sedan)
only a midsize like stinger
doing some repair in the "garage" aka machine shop
need a new brass bearing? just machine it onto the lathe
or even resurfacing the brake discs
Yup
yeah that was relevant until a bunch of messages loaded
hey they upgraded the battery of the e-up, 260km range, still not a lot but 22000β¬ for full feature π€
i really hope they keep updating it until i feel like buying a new car
probably 23k because tax difference and us is often cheaper
i could save another 500β¬ because rear view camera in a up is kinda overkill
But mandated in the US.
my current up has absolutely no assistance systems
in other words.. get good at parking
but kinda annoying that you live with light blue if you want to save 500β¬
the eup costs 6000 β¬ more than the up for giving up 300km range
thags actually not that bad π€
thats something you make up in fuel costs in no time
im interested
Sounds like a plan.
I know it's a smaller car, but honestly 500km is the minimum I'd consider for an electric car.
I fill my car up every 500km. I could probably get 600 km on a tank if I tried, but better to not run out.
if i really want i can do 1000km on a tank
500 maybe, but my gas tank isn't that massive.
60L
I've got maybe 50?
and i do mostly city driving too
i should've reset the trip-o-meter when i went to ireland bcs i drove alot of highway
my last fillup I got 13.2l/100km
My entire range of gas + LPG is easily over 1000km easily, but the LPG range is only 370-400km xD
if I keep momentum I do alright but once I have to start from a stop, get the porker of a car moving, my fuel economy goes to sh*t
Yes
thats what driving a car thats super heavy will do to you xD
Well that's actually with every car xD
some cars aren't as bad though
eventually I'll take a real road trip and see how it does just on cruise control at a constant speed for like
4 hours
so far I've not done a REAL trip, only like 200 miles each way
Cruise control
Is this pedal to the floor? xD
?
(i don't hace cruise control)
(Cruise control = flooring it so top speed = cruise control)
Imagine adaptive in 1999
didn't the s class have it?
I don't think so? Lemme check
it seems lke it would have been possible
considering my car / cars of that time had electronic control instead of throttle by literal wire
and radar existed
1999 S-Class was the first EU/US car with distronic (a.k.a adaptive cruise)
(ESP?)
Electronic stability program
ah
Or ESC
the 2000+ i think had stability control
Or DSC
and all the FWD and the newer 2001+ AWD i think had traction control
Mine doesn't! π
Oof
nah its fine
Apparently it's required for adaptive cruise, so Lexus couldn't have fitted it (:
not on the '99 at least
the later firstgen had both stability and traction control
Mine has ABS and airbags
that's it
(6 airbags i think tho)
More weight = more energy to transfer to the other vehicles
i think that's bullshit
LSD RWD RX300 when? xD
Yes (:
i'm a bit surprised my car has no tunnel down the middle
like
its got awd but not the big chunk out of the cabin
Mine has a chunk out of the cabin pogey But that's where the exhaust is
my floor is flat
up until the trunk
they put some stupid purse holder in the front middle
its flat
but raised up from the floor of the cabin
obviously
because there's a big spare underneath there π
i'm also very surprised it's full size spare
instead of a donut/fix-a-flat
i can fit 5 people better in my two rows than my mom's Explorer does
(the explorer has a third row but i'm not counting that)
w/o using the 3rd row you can only really fit 4
no
the explorer middle seat is super skinny, but the seatbelt is on a piece of metal, not flexible thing
so if you're wider than about 9 inches the middle seat of the 2nd row is completely useless
i can too
Also: thnx discord for sending my message twice
LOL
lol
Also: cruise control should have been fitted to my car, but Opel decided for some reason that LPG + cruise control can't work together.... To abandon that thought exactly one month later xD
Mine was built in that 1 month period
Fat rip
Mine has only 1 button for both seat heaters
its a toggleswitch for either driver or driver + passenger
like 2 weeks into production they revised it to have 2 individual buttons
Lol so passenger only isn't a thing in yours? xD
nope
Nice
(i leave mine on all the time so thats not super big deal xD)
do you have power windows?
It was optional, and it even threw in a heated steeringwheel which is nice
Yes it does
I have 2 power windows
(rear doesn't open anyway so xD)
Nein, that's quite uncommon around here, only on the high-end cars you sometimes see it now
huh
Not that many cars even feature it
I'm probably just an ignorant american, but is it cold in NL?
You could get it as an optional extra on a Corsa... But like <1% actually got it
Bwah depends, summer = "hot", in the winter it freezes
Also "hot" for me xD
Yeah I think so, we're both at roughly the same distance to the equator I believe
Too bad that Radeon VII wasn't particularly good
Yeah I expected more
Wroom car go fast
I like that kind of orange
- Wtf, no
- Those things just send false data to the ECU to make it perform better, bad in long term since the engine doesn't get actual data of the current status of the engine
i kind wanna order the 2nd one and see whats inside it
i bet its just a resistor or a cap
Do it
That is such a waste lol
@stoic ledge most of them are just connected to the +12 and gnd and have a blinking led
Turn your car into a ROCKET with this amazing device that reprograms your ECU for maximum torque while reducing fuel consumption. But only if you have a vivi...
wow i never thought anyone had "test" it
well you can see if it (can) work simply by tearing it down and seeing if the pins for Can_H and Can_L are connected
but then even if it's connected you aren't sure
i figured that theyd just have an led and 2 wires xD
and the cap thing can work, but not on cars, more like in big plants where you have alot of inductive load, the capacitance can help the power factor go back to one
Oof nice
yeah those diesel "tuners" are literally just giving the ECU a fake air/fuel reading
there's a popular mod for VW TDIs called the evrymod that involves putting a jumper with a resistor across 2 wires, those boxes probably do the exact same thing
you just let it have a bit more voltage and it thinks it needs more fuel
nah the obdii is on the can bus, so a resistor doesn't help at all
tbf there are resistors on the can bus, but at the ends to avoid echoes
it wouldn't be a resistor in those, but it would do the same thing somehow
unless those are the ones that do literally nothing, those exist too
I remember those evrymods being very popular for 525TDS and the 740DTIC
MK4 VWs
basically, if you see a young person with a MK4 TDI with aftermarket wheels or stickers or something, there's an 85% chance they have an evrymod
It's insane there are people who get tricked into buying these, thinking it will actually make a difference
I often get amazed how many people get tricked in to buying many stuff xD
just gullible people
Mostly that ^
Real tuning can work though
Obviously
that doesn't honestly surprise me
Y tho
More versions is more better
Mercedes does the same, BMW does the same
Why can't Audi do it too?
If all they're gonna sell is crossovers why not sell fast ones?
Because the concept is stupid.
Yes they are stupid, but the entire cross-over hype is
They're just not all that interesting anymore
@stoic ledge do you have any torque steer in your opel?=
With 110Nm of torque? Nope xD
Yeah massive amounts, can barely keep it on the road @unreal terrace
cuz i havent got any at all in my fiat with 300nm
they gotta be making some magic not to have it just veer off the road all the time
But diesel torque != Gas torque, due to the longer gear ratios
i think they've made the ASR make do magic with the steering or the breaks
I don't know if they did stuff like that back then
Tfw I have no torque steer in mine
I don't think mine has torque steer
not that it has enough torque to do sh*t anyways
With 170hp and 220nm of torque
i've got like 200-220 lb/ft of torque, not near enough to torquesteer
if you're on 4wd or rwd you wont have torque steer
I get torque steer on my bicycle
You might get some torque steer with 4wd
Torque steer is bad anyway so win
it literally won't do it
Lmao
despite redline being ~6300
that being said the power/torque peak is long before that
so
Mine has fuel cut at 7000rpm
i read on the internet that 80% of torque comes on at like 1600rpm but I think that's a load of sh*t
Time to put in stiffer valve springs and make that 8500
because its not quick off thel ine (at all)
Mine has highest torque at 4200rpm
And highest hp at 6800rpm
Tfw my buddy has 650nm of torque at 2000rpm
Good ol' A4 3.0tdi
83hp/86hp @ 5600rpm, 110Nm/115Nm @ 4000rpm (LPG/gas)

All that power pogey
He's got all that torque until it breaks down
Idk what Opel was thinking, but my curve is like odd af xD
wtf
the whole car is an eco mode
Poweeeeeeeeer
That's why on the highway, it drives better at 125-150 vs 100-125 xD
So speeding == better xD
I can agree with that
Ah well everybody is a zombie on the road these days, it's adequate enough xD
So true
If I try to drive uphill in 6th gear and like 70kph, my car slows down...
Well 6th isn't really meant for 70 kph lol
That's kinda normal xD
4 speed right?
yep
Old school
It's made for cruising
I smoked everybody at the lights today
somehow i think the 8.8 seconds quoted by lexus is massively optimistic
it feels closer to 12
Didn't you got it under 9 seconds the other day?
(and slightly down hill)
Oof xD
I should pull the dashcam video from today where I smoked everybody, it was flat + 0-60mph pogey
So i can get the time xD
lol
i've never floored it
i feel like it will make the trans just like
fall out the bottom of the car
Oof well the F13+ transmission is officially rated at 13*10=130Nm, and it's 110Nm, so no problem there
Also, i only went up to 4k rpm
Daredevil
PogChomp
I'll try to pull the vid xD
Do it
I should do a 0-60 pull in my dads taurus π€
Do that too
I just skip redlining my car.
I only redlined a CitroΓ«n C4 Cactus once by accident
It was a test drive too
It has a bar iirc
That is the basic LCD screen
Are there 2 screens eyes
I'm not a fan of it though. But I acknowledge what it is and what it represents.
Honestly though, I liked the new one
Not something I'd buy straight away but not a bad car to drive
Does the Cactus offer AWD?
No AWD, it's a semi-budget crossover
The outside of the original was covered in Airbumps (:
Original
So if somebody smashes their door or shopping trolleh in to it.... It doesn't dent xD
And nicer suspension
That too
And only the 1.2 Turbo iirc
it looks like a hyundai kona
That engine is brilliant actually
The 1.2 non-Turbo is waay to slow
The Kona is ugly
Yeah the 1.2 Turbo is awesome
PSA also wants to take over FCA now
Yes (:
if they buy fca that's the end of big engine challengers and stuff
feelsBatman
No one's buying anyone
It will finally be affordable here
Lol didn't see falcons message
:ohno:
That's her car btw
yes
The Italians are great at building the same model for way too long
New Punto on 208/Corsa base, new 500 with C1/108/Karl to make it worth while, new Tipo/Bravo on 308 base
They have to build it for a long time to get the investment out xD
Besides the 500, they mainly sell in Italy only
Fiat 500, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, MiTo, etc
They're all ancient
Nice cars but they need an update badly
Yep lol
But hey, Corsa is also still the same xD
German Punto
But they did do a thorough refresh
The Giulia and Stelvio are new but that's it
^ that
Two models aren't enough
Giulia is nice
It's nice indeed
But everybody goes for Mercedes C/Audi A4/BMW 3er
cause the alfa is horribly unreliable π
They're not that unreliable anymore though lol
the test cars that a few publications had spent 4 out of 6 months they had it in the dealer
It does have the ZF gearboz puggers
Could be early models
https://www.prinsalfa.nl/foto/89549/1920/!crop!/files/Occasions/13046835-1.jpg
Why pick a boring Audi A4 over this?
the paddles on the alfas are amazing
Because the neighbours know what the Audi is
^
Yes, they are inferior
Also: /care what the neighbours think
I srsly couldn't care less
It's gorgeous to look at, and drives amazing
I'd rather get that too
glare Maybe i should buy one in 2 years or so
Maybe not
@stoic ledge That one is a 3.2
3.2 is too heavy in the front
I wouldn't get the 3.2 though
1.75T is perfect
Just meant the model looking like that
Yeah it's gorgeous
@tight cypress Nice kaas
i dont like wagon alfa romeos alot
I think it's one of the best looking 'regular' cars ever made
maybe
Yes, but it will never come
from nowday standards @fair bronze
and that wont come either
a twin turbo v8 stinger with like 550hp would be lit
GTS + 500hp = drifting and burnouts all day
xD
i dont prefer having an daily driver with over 300hp
$500 rubber burned every day pogey
the v6 is 365 which is pretty nice.
parents cars each have 365, i think thats about right
keep in mind the stinger/ my parents cars are porkers
theyre not light / sports cars
π
Is that like a 50cc bike
hey this is no car :p
The guys how bought Chrysler are merging with the guys who bought Opel.
This means we might see a Buick Regal come back as a new Dodge Avenger... or a Citroen DS something as a Neon.
And Jeep will now be French.
Yes we were just talking about it pogey
Also Buick Regal/Insignia is still a GM product, which Opel will phase out quite soon in Europe
X doubt it will come to the US as a Dodge Avenger
Also, the last Avenger as a class below the Insignia for sure
They're both midsize cars.
That was the best Chrysler could do at the time.
Today... I'm not sure how most luxury car makers justify existing.
Acura, Buick, Lincoln are just rebadged generic products.
And usually don't offer any real upgrades.
You can get leather in a Honda these days, and a bunch of other previously luxury tech in other cars.
Yes
Well you can get leather in "normal" cars for s long time now
You can even get Fiesta, Polo, Clios etc with leather now these days
I mean at this point. A top trim compared to a top nacho Acura trim... not much difference.
Sure... bigger engine in an Acura, but is that really worth a 15 grand premium?
Well it's mostly the brand, sometimes Some extra features, softer plastics
Buick's reason to exist is even less justifiable. Besides China.
And no yeah I get ya
I mean look at an Audi A3 vs Golf, same car yet different brand = 10k more
I think Opel has a good chance at making it back to the US as a whatever else.
Saturn was a grand experiment for GM, and it was a huge success till GM decided to meddle.
Saturn's brand image was exactly as it was meant to be.
Lexus makes cars that are different enough from Toyota to be reasonable to exist imo
No frills transport with a no bullshit dealership service.
Lexus does a decent job since they don't just flat out rebadge their cars.
The most overlap we see right now is Lexus ES and Toyota Avalon.
And I do question that tbh.
(and have completely stunning interiors like the LC500) though remote touch controller is just bad
The flagship Lexus products are next level.
Opel doesn't own the Saturn brand name though... So I don't think that they will use that name
Lincoln flagship isn't next level.
saturn sky is pretty
Saturn Sky was a rebadged Opel.
don't care lol, its pretty
Sky = Opel GT, yes
Astra = Opel Astra
No, but when you rebadge a Ford and call it a Lincoln... that's bad.
Mind you Ford is trying now.
But GM with Buick, GMC, and Chevy.
Aura = Opel Vectra
The Aviator and Navigator are great
though ford's newest lines of normal products are so terrible
It's identical save for a 5 grand premium.
GMC = Chevy + more chrome
Ford's product line is great for 10 years ago.
They mentioned in their earnings report that warranty costs have skyrocketed
i thought GMC was the sportier version of chevy
due to reliability and quality problems w/ new explorer
nah
its the "luxury verson"
and buick the luxury
funny Geim.
GM has a stupid arse lineup
I've heard GMC is supposed to be the working man's Chevy.
like
lol
why make 1 car and name it with 5 diffrent brands
We've heard a dozen things, and GM doesn't know the answer.
money
Used to be more.
they dont even look diffrent
Ford, Lincoln, Edsel, Mercury.
like the GMC cyclone and the chevy S10
We can do worse.
but if you know nothing aobut cars the stealership can be like Ooohhh look at this GMC it sure will impress the neighbors
They drive a chevy and you drive a GMC
i remember seeing the crown vic and the lincoln whatever
Basically the same
I mean, the Seat Leon isn't 15k worse than a A3
does it have power seats
Idk, probably not, nobody cares in this segment
Most C-segment cars have manual seats, yes
> having tilt
π
But no I've checked, the one pictured is manual seats
Is a used one with 20k km: β¬30k
new?
The one pictured was β¬35k
is that the marauder
New
marauder = souped up crown vic
But, hear me for a second. So this full optioned, 1.5 TSI 150hp DSG Leon is 35k. For the same price, you can get a base 1.0 TSI 110hp manual Audi A3
ford focus
And no V50 == Focus
Our two cars would be a better comparison
The door mirrors are the same
And the rear suspension
Corsa == Punto == Mito == Adam
before they redesigned the S5 Coupe in 17 (i think) it was one of the prettiest cars on the market imo, super clean and elegant design
I wonder if the doors on ours nare interchangeable
They dont, mine has a little window by the wing mirror
wow
The first Highlander was based off my car π
No power seats in cars over 20k?
(and yes, that way around. RX300 came first.)
At least tilt/reach steering wheel?
agreed, power seats are expected at anything over rock bottom base model
LOL base Golfs start at 28k fyi
the golf is overpriced and not very good
Uhm yeah tilt/reach is standard on pretty much all cars
Except the Nissan Leaf, like wtf
And yet people buy Golfs.
Power seats aren't that big of a deal here
LOL the new 62kwh Leaf costs as much as a Model 3 Performance, or a very lightly used 2017 Model S
Here I am in a practically loaded Corolla for less than a Golf.
Still don't understand why people buy Golfs but ok
and vaping
that's Subaru tho
I nearly shopped for a GTI and WRX.
But the Mazda 3 failed to live up to expectations.
Ok so the Opel Astra starts at β¬25k, power seats only available as an option on the 2 higher trims combined with leather seats
Cheapest Astra with power seats is β¬30.5k
Corolla starts at β¬24k
β¬22.9k buys and astra with Aircon and massage in seats now :p
Yeah boi
Beats the crap out of paying your own health care
what a shame you got cancer, now give us all your and all of your grandchildrens money
Politics aside. Gotta great deal on my car.
My car taxes aren't used for health care tho xD
Dutch roads aren't bad, no
But not all the money goes to there, because it's basically a fine for emitting CO2
For the roads themselves, we have road tax
Which even for my small Corsa is β¬55 a month, the same car as a diesel costs β¬110/month
Our roads aren't too bad here
though I5 is quite rough in places
we don't have monthly road taxes or anything, just 50 bucks a year for car tabs
π
Classic xD
spooky @indigo coral
spooky.

Make what you will of this. If I lived up North I'd probably be garage parking my car.
That would mean I'd have to plug-in my car at home every day to keep the battery heated during winter π
And since we have 2 cars, they will probably be charging at 1x16A (3.68kW) each because 3x16A (11kW) *2 cars goes over our main connection limit... Which means it'd probably won't even charge up at home.. which means I'd still have to go to a fast charge station every 3 days
I mean, with EVs that's kind of standard to plug in when you get home...
And you can set how much power you would want each car to receive, so if you can't spend the few hundred bucks to get dedicated 240v lines for the cars, then you can just dial back each one on the power input and charge that way.
Everything is already 230V here
And yeah I get it you charge them always at home, but if I see the figures in the video, it would nearly charge at all
(if we would exchange both cars for EVs)
that's if the battery was at 2C though
and you were trying to warm it all the way up
if you keep your car in your garage it will never need 7kw to stay warm
> Imagine having a garage xD
Or: imagine having a garage large enough to fit multiple cars
Very often, that's not the case
Especially in our tiny country
Even if it was sitting in your driveway it wouldn't be using 7kw to stay warm
The 3 in that video was only using that much power in the vid to warm the battery asap so it can charge as fast as possible. If you're plugging it at home it doesn't need to warm asap.
@stoic ledge What's your max current?
Common over here is 120v @12amps even though it's common place to have 15amp fuses
@vital glen you mean regular breakers? They are 230V @16A usually, or 2x16A/3x16A for high power appliances (induction cooking for example)
Main connection to houses can vary immensely, ranging from 1x25A (very small houses/apparements) to 3x80A extremely large mansions, business etc. We have 3x25A as main connection to our home.
@stoic ledge ok
Just reminds me of how old our fuse box at home is...
Iirc, isn't 2x100A in the US 200A @120V or 100A @240V? Atleast that's what I remember
Tried measuring it, and woke up in a hospital. It's enough current to send a grown adult flying at least 15 feet.
Okay I kid, and don't touch live wires. That's bad yo.
Lol I was not intended to do so xD
It varies by state for electrical code
as to what is standard
in my area it's standard to have 240v coming into the house, and in the breaker box there is a 2:1 transformer to bring some of it down to 120v for the rest of the house, while the rest of the 240v powers the washers and dryers and stuff
Ah ok, learned something today
We have similar setups here, but from 400v to 230v
usa is kinda sucky for that, but i guess you have to thank good 'ol edison for that
@unreal terrace what car u got?
seems good
Goes forward pretty quick, stops and backwards :p all I need in a car
But does it turn?
yes, its not a challenger.
like i said
you need a boating licence to drive a challenger
To drive or to boat? xD
Why is it that top gear can't for once do a fair test between cars? Especially anything to do with Tesla... https://twitter.com/MaximilianSeif/status/1190349196395716614
To be fair.
The OG Roadster wasn't a great car. And the criticism about the car were valid at the time.
thats not an OG roadster
The Model S, X, and later 3 were each a solid step in the right direction up.
I'm addressing the "why can't Top Gear do a fair test for once."
They were fair the first time.
Here tho... lol
That's pretty fucking egregious. If it has launch control use it.
It's there for one purpose.... drag races.
They put it in Range mode, which limits power and makes it primarily FWD
Yeah, that's super dumb.
