We've all seen that picture. lol
So what if it is worse?
All the guys with cash are still going to buy the Taycan over the Tesla.
Because you know, history and prestige.
Mission E was never raced so you can't compare it's handling to a Taycan
By all the metrics we were told, Taycan is worse than mission E
Which are more important than track times.
We aren't comparing it to tesla
.kek.
handling, comfort, tech, history, dynamics, style etc
Please, read the convo
nou
lmao
His complaint was that tesla over promises and under delivers
I'm showing how that's the same for porsche with the Mission E --> Taycan
ure showing nothing apart from ridiculous tesla fanboyism
Everything about the Taycan is worse than the Mission E
tru
No not at all, I'm just showing how he should be upset with porshe as well
If he isn't then he's not being consistent
I used to think I was a bit of a Tesla fanboy but holy shit you take the cake @eager kite
This has nothing to do with me promoting or supporting tesla
LOL.
LOL
Simply seeing if the guy is consistent
I'm actually wondering, can Model 3 do the 'ring without overheating?
I prefer the Taycan's styling.
Probably
no it cant
Oh noes
As I said earlier I prefer my cars to have character lines.
Tesla is a bit lacking... bland.
Model S is based on a platform from 2012, so until it's redesigned I'm okay with cutting it some slack but if the 3 overheats then Tesla just had flawed design
I'm not upset with Porsche.
Because the price of the Taycan is so far beyond the realm of reality that I don't care.
The 4S brings the price down to reality, and frankly it could be better.
I think I've said this... hold on
I mean, it should be able to do it just fine.
Since it's not about staying top speed for longer periods of time.
so you're not consistent, it's ok most people aren't @dense shard
wait wait wait wait
Finally competition for the model S
Wow a car can drive on a public road
I remember dissing the Taycan a few days ago.
Hold the hell up. Don't put words in my mouth Arial.
lmao @stoic ledge
Upset is a strong word.

I'm not excited about the Taycan, but I'm not upset.
Upset is having a family member die.
Upset is crashing my car.
are you upset that they overpromised and underdelivered
No. I'm not upset.
I'm just disappointed.
I don't think extreme emotional responses are a good use of my time.
so you are disappointed as well that with tesla they said they would get a 5k running rate by the end of 2017 but it didn't happen until 2018
Yes, very.
why very
Because the Model 3 was actually exciting to see happen.
I wanted to be proven wrong.
They had every ability, chance, and drive to prove me wrong.
They proved my predictions right.
Which is disappointing.
If I owned stock I'd be upset.
I mean they weren't on time with the prediction but the contents of it came true nonetheless
Eventually.
yea not to long after their prediction
and they seem to be getting better at it recently
And if Porsche doesn't delivery on their ultra charging by 2021 I'll be also quite upset.
Because Porsche resources are vastly deeper than Tesla's.
we can agree on that
There ya go
But if I had 40k to blow on an EV.
I'd get a Hyundai.
And use the left over 10k to buy a used Miata or something.
At one point Kia mentioned doing am EV version of the Stinger but I don't think that's happening :'(
Everyone is left in a funk right now.
EVs didn't hit critical mass yet.
Tesla is powered on memes. (and the charger network)
The rest are just... products on the market.
If you can afford only one electric car... you get a Tesla for the range potential.
If you can afford two cars... you get either one of the Germans... or a Tesla because that's cool.
I mean, for me personally, I'd prefer getting a car I can take road trips on
Even as a commuting proposition... you don't get a Leaf or a budget electric because you can save 10 grand and get a Corolla that's loaded.
Or save 15, and get a base Corolla.
Or save 20 and get a Kia Rio... which isn't as bad as people thing anymore.
If I HAD to go electric.
The Rio isn't half bad
I'd go for a Tesla. My doubts on their survival aside... they're the key.
The cheap Kia's aren't as fancy as the stinger obviously but they're not bad at all
The other EVs aren't horrible, they just aren't on the same level as a Tesla
and they can't travel
which for most people is a deal breaker
and they can't travel
yea they can't travel
You can't take a Kona very far.
280 miles of range aside... the super charger network is kinda what makes Teslas a no brainer as a primary car.
Secondary car... dunno... Teslas are still the "cool choice"
The Kona still has a real world range of 400+ km
I think the Koreans are the best alternative.
yes but that isn't useful if it takes 8 hours to charge
Same as a standard range Model 3
yes ik
You plug it in at night, and have a full charge by morning.
They're working on that, or maybe they fixed it already? Idk
which means you would buy these other EVs as secondary cars
And it's not like you charge anything from zero.
not primary cars
I mean... here's teh question.
sure, but if you're going on a road trip
you're gonna get it pretty low
I go on few hundred mile road trips every month or so
longer ones at least 4 times a year
so renting a car would mean I'm paying probably $5K to $10k a year
I just fill up my car if I want to take a road trip pogey
The point is that commuter cars wouldn't work for people like me
for normal people just going to work and back every day
these lower range, poor charging infrastructure cars are great
"poor charging infrastructure"
Laughs in Ionity
ionity also has a shit charging infrastructure
Tesla was also shit, just wait a couple of months, they are popping up everywhere
Tesla is still meh, wow we have 5 superchargers at a hotel here nearby, that's it. Woah, fancy
Could be worse.
The only super charger in Birmingham is in a sketchy part of town next to an interstate that has been torn down.
0 ionity chargers in the US
For now.
And apparently the US will have a different network... one which will be built out by Ford & Co.
It's pure coincidence there's a station nearby, the first next one is in another country 60km from here
So convenient
damn even the euro network is super small
60km between chargers isn't bad.
i lie theres one in my multistorey carpark, funny watching every1 fight over it as i make my way home
Also all just 120kW, so fast ned with 150kW can charge faster pogey
X doubt they will be finished in 3 months
ionity map for reference
Most of those are already built
Tesla updates this map once a year
but Tesla navigation updates them live
Ford's will be universal apparently.
Privacy issues I imagine.
mmm
pretty easy to set up a system to use Tesla's supercharger network without giving out any trade secrets
?
Tesla can track the customers of other car company users.
as will Ionity
Ionity is an independent company.
sure
and they need your information to charge you
for your charge stay
either way the company is going to use your information
Yes, but they won't be giving it to a competitor.
ok, I still don't see why that would make a difference
Ask that to the other auto makers.
not much Tesla can do with the knowledge of what competitor EVs are charging where
like, it'll just be a blanket, "they're charging all over europe"
but yea, Tesla has offered that any auto company that wants to use their network they are willing to work out a deal with
I'm quite curious for next year, we're getting quite a lot of new EVs
Peugeot e-208, Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-e, Renault Zoe
Honda e (but that's too expensive)
Polestar 2, XC40 P8, XC40 P4, ID.3, and I'm probably forgetting some
So far this year, more EVs than diesels have been sold in 🇳🇱 *
* sold a.k.a obtained as company cars
Good for spending my tax money puggers
Nah 75+% of new cars sold here are company cars anyways
Only elderly people or richies can afford new cars xD
Well it's not the majority, that's still gas
means that more people are buying EVs, and the used market will in a few years or so become more dominated with EVs
ah sorry
read your thing wrong
well
EV is still better than diesel
means that more people are buying EVs, and the used market will in a few years or so become more dominated with EVs
Inb4 they all get exported
We've seen it before, PHEV's were nearly free as company cars, and now 80% of those PHEVs have been exported (fact)
oof
i have to agree with arial on the thing about Evs being better than shitty dieselst hough
i'd never get a diesel unless its a big truck
2010-2012 people were stimulated to buy small diesels pogey
And the year after, they were like nah screw that, here have some massive taxes
dieselgate amirite guys
Yes
@stoic ledge you forgot the G-wiz
Oof you just lifted it too another level
but telsas can't lift tho
Anyone ever done/gotten rust repair done before? Trying to fix some rust on the bottom of my doors on my dodge so I can prep it to sell. Wondering what a rough cost would be. It's about the bottom half inch of both front doors, front to back
laughs in all aluminium
It's a 20 year old truck, chill a bit lol
@shadow osprey i mean u can do it on the cheap but it wont last, best way is to reskin the door
on the cheap would be a couple hundred bucks or less
I more worried about the amount of material on that section of the door. I'm afraid if I grind it down, it'll grind the bottom of the door off
Wait would I not paint it... it'll just rust again
No, but it's literally two pieces of sheet metal. It's the bottom of the door. Like the bottom bottom where it meets the rocker panel
Yeah but I'm not tryna drive around with a missing section of door
stab the area with a screwdriver if it feels solid then start grindin n sanding
if not find a friendly welder 😉
buy a new door from a scrappy?
cheap
I'm not stabbing my doors with a screw driver. It's not a farm truck lmao
I know the techniques of finding rust
if its bad i would jus get another door tbh
Might, depends on what the shop says
less hassle
It's litertally a half inch tall
I really don't wanna go through the trouble of finding mint white doors
then get on with it geez
which is impossible for a second gen dodge
All I wanted was to know if anyone had a guess at pricing dog lol
I know what my options are
what do you mean reskinned
well.. it's on both sides so
yes either would still work
reskin or patch
but
not worth doing without prep n paint
Yeah but i'd have to reskin the inside sheet and outside sheet. so... a new door
I'm still curious as to who grinds down rust then leaves bare metal
well u would prime it at least
I know lol that was me saying paint is obvious
Still doesn't fix the rust problem -___-
I have to buy new doors and get them paint matched, which will undoubtedly be the most expensive option
On the thinnest part of the door
i had a similar thing on 1 of my cars, bottom corner of the door fell apart when i got the grinder on it
i just packed the whole area with filler lol
job done
sold
u could fibreglass the area to shape it nicely
then yeet it with bondo
I don't think you're understanding what I'm talking about... it's sheet metal thick. There's nothing behind it. If it grinds away, I can't patch it with chicken wire and bondo, or fill it with expandable foam and glass it
u can lol
like i said i had the exact samething happen
look do u want to sell it or not?
lol
I want it to look nice
Ok, but anyone can say that
Considering the volume of people on this server, I was hoping someone could at the very least give an hourly rate
which dictates what kinda job is needed
Yes I know
y not just take it to a local shop n get a quote?
hourly rates is what 50-60 bucks
well here it is
Is that like GBP or something cause I need to move to wherever you live
Damn
Just for lolz I messaged the Lexus dealer asking how much a new trans would be for my car
A 100k mile rebuilt unit, installed, is 7000$
L. O. L.
i wanted to get some parts for my lexus
third brake light 488
toyota brake like 144

About your rust Cereal, find someone parting out the same year/colour truck as yours and buy the doors of they're clean. Or find some in a junkyard. It would be easier and cheaper than fixing or taking it to a body shop.
Time to officially take the record back
Let's hope those teeth won't rust

looks like a minivan to me
It's the passenger version of a commercial van, converted to RWD with a 3.5 TT V6 (:
wait so it's normally a FWD commercial van
I'm used to vans being built on truck chassis and being RWD, that's a foreign concept to me
Yes it's usually FWD
@carmine summit I’m gonna try to poke around a junkyard this weekend, but I’m not getting my hopes up. Second gen dodges are hard to find in good shape
oh it's a second gen? good luck lol. We have a 98 2500 that needs fenders, only good set we've been able to find that match were on a mint 1500 that they wanted $6k for.
3.5TT v6 isn't bad but why would you out one in a one-off special car? Plonk a big ass v8 in there or something
Twin turbo v8
Hyundai probably doesn't have a V8, but they do have a V6
just use what you already have, but with multiple turbos
I don't think they already have a 3.6 V6, or it must be an old one
Or it's the 3.3 V6, increased to 3.6
3.5
I'm guessing it's a lambada engine
the Stinger GT has a 3.3 lambada engine, probably a 3.5 with Stinger GT parts
have you seen the hyundai equus
ultimate package
i almost bought one but then i was like... i cant be in the back seat I gotta drive it
Oh yeah the Genesis stuff has v8s too (except for the G70)
Essentially 4 mpg over the EPA rating.
I cry when I don't get 50mpg
Usually i get 55, but now with winter tyres I get 45
👀 I just filled up and got 17.6mpg
@load
this is a truely bad day
Skipole hoodprop is a must accessory
American All Season vs European All Season, damn
Also: European All Season brakes on shorter distances than Winter tires?
continues to drive on sumner tires during winter
I'm confused as to what European all season tyres are and what winter tyres are
Probably cuz of Swedish legislation being what it is, there's winter tyres and everything that isn't winter tyres are summer tyres
European all Season tyres are probably the regular "in between" tyres with M+S indication (Mud and Snow) and/or a snowflake on the side, so they are allowed in Germany when there is snow
Hmm 🤔
For example:
- Michelin Primacy 4/Energy Saver Plus/...: summer
- Michelin CrossClimate Plus: all-season
- Michelin Alpin 6: winter
Extreme winter tires sound like tires designed for Nordic climates.
Stuff that's supposed to work in super cold weathers.
IIRC i've got all seasons, not like we see much snow here...
Yeah but we don't need that, I mean this is the most snow we had last winter xD
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/375461451403624471/612409698221686813/IMG_20190201_072558.jpg
That's like 1cm of snow xD
We had an extremely unusual/crazy storm, had 30 inches of snow fall when most winters we get like 2inches
What would be a cheap car for daily commuting to/from work?
Currently doing 100 km's daily.
I would probably be happy with a VW Polo or something similar.
polo is little hatchback isnt it?
Yeah
afaik the smallest hatchback we get over here is the GTI and thats short lived
not 100% sure though
VW might not sell Golf in america either
They've said "It's still under consideration"
VW working hard to alienate their entire fanbase.
so is Ford
The funny thing is that we have a size smaller than the Polo.
Yeah, it is.
No more Golf, no more Sportwagen, but all we get is the rubbish USDM Passat.
only reason I know about it is from watching Bjorn nylands yt channel xD
Well the Passat is sticking around in the US market.
for now
errr... Jetta*
The Passat is paid off. VW isn't losing money on selling those.
They just refreshed the last gen US market one, and called it good.
The new Jetta is MQB or whatever the platform is called, but it's still very much a cut corner Golf.
Its a shame that Ford cancelled the fusion, it was one of their better cars
It was in need of an update.
ye, but still a good car.
fusion sport had what, 330hp or something? update it and off to the races, but instead they cancelled it xD
The Sport was a limited model like the Hellcat.
thing is doesnt some of their crossovers ride on the same/similar platform?
Edge I imagine.
Granted I think Ford have moved on to new platforms for their crossovers.
yeah
China Taurus is supposedly based on the Fusion.
We've got a 2013 SHO
good car but holy shit its poorly packaged
its a biiig car and the back seat is tiny
front seat is great, I'm about 6 ft and hit the ceiling with my head and front seats with my knees in the back
It struggled to beat an Avalon from 8 years ago on release.
Hell... on interior dimensions it failed to beat the previous Taurus... which shared a freaking platform.
ye, better in the Avalon in terms of performance though. Ours has the performance pack plus so its actually not bad (tighter shocks, steering and bigger brakes)
yeah
I think the only way you could justify a taurus over another car is 1. being a resolute ford person or 2. wanting hte SHO for performance
@civic spoke the Polo 1.2 TDI is quite shite, Fiat Punto (Evo) feels like a much nicer car to drive

The later SHOs were excellent.
Especially when they added extra cooling and larger brakes.
But like the Challenger and Charger... it's hard to cover up the less than brilliant platform underneath.
My dad bought his two years ago, heavily depreciated
At least the FCA cars are RWD and have room.
its only got 24k miles on it LOL.
nice!
Personally I remain a fan of the Japanese.
If I had to get a large sedan... it would either be a Lexus ES or an Avalon.
You know what my answer is. 😂
Stinger/G70 eyes
Poland likes their cars.
"Passat wagon is better than the Tiguan."
Is the Xceed a wagon, tall wagon, or a crossover?
Wagons > SUVs amirite
Depends on your use case.
Might look into Volvo's. tbh
Think I'm gonna go ahead and try out my car's wifi hotspot trial.
They haven't?
Well I haven't heard of anything like it so I watched two videos of it and it was amazing lol
Because most people are waiting to flip em.
Super cars are always flat tho
Depends on the car.
Yeah
Porsche limited editions always shoot up in value.
Ford and Aston Martin have tried to take steps against it.
I think Porsche maybe has?
:3
What's the price of the 911R now?
They were being sold for like $1,000,000 at their worst.
I think you can get them for $300,000 now
New they were like $200k

Also ^^^ the carfax redirects to the front page :(
Taycan is faster.
musk fanboys
It's probably not a direct side by side comparison.
We'll have to wait what our experience expert Arial thinks of it
But if the cars are within half a second of each other... they're essentially the same to me.
And to 99% of people out there.
again, new car company vs. Porsche
0-250 is a huge difference tho pogey
There is also another video on YouTube, but it's odly cut to 0.37 leaving out the important sections. Above is the original video, from a German motoring show. They did test them in the wet, but the Taycan was faster in a drag race. Also the Model S understeered in a kind of eland-test (so they had to abort)
Archiv von Thema heute u.a.: Porsche Taycan mit Alex der Show auto mobil: Oktober 2019 ►im Online Stream von TVNOW ansehen.
The moose test is more important than the 0-100 km/h test.
Name is still stupid.
What's a taycan, and why turbo S?
It's an EV with a turbo, duh
the car i was going to test drive sold
2005 boxster with a 6 speed manual
164k miles
10,440
at this rate i'll never own a porsche
oh man
that feel when you do something to your car to make it objectively 100x better
looks like a civic to me
@dense shard (late replay, lol)
Last week I swapped out the belts, but the car was still kinda sluggish and that introduced a really fucking loud squeal at 4krpm and higher.
I figured out what was squealing, which was the air pump pulley bearings. Since the air pump is a non-essential piece of the emissions system, I took the belt off. Engine is revving freely without the bad bearing holding it back. Redline is now easy and quick. As far as I can tell, I may have boosted power output by a slim margin as well, no more than 5hp max.
by decommissioning the air pump, part of the emissions system is now non functional. which is a general improvement, cleaner sound and nice stronk smell of burnt oil + 2 stroke + gas. next step will be a cat delet, rats nest delet, and removing the air pump and replacing it with block plates until I get a new exhaust manifold.

A breakdown on how automatic transmissions work.
My friend has a Type R.
Lots of bent rims and suspension.
I'd say 18 inch wheels are large as you'd practically want to go. Even then...
don't we all
I'll just say this.
Corolla hatch may not be faster, but it is better looking.
Not a fan of the over all styling... or the dead plastic vents.
That remains the single dumbest thing ever.
yeah that new corolla hatchback is hot fire
i agree
now if they shoe horned the turbo from the lexus NX into that hatchback they'd have a hot seller
(not that corollas struggle to sell)
yeah but 235 horsepower
sure
But at this point I'm super happy they're offering the new generation with a manual transmission.
Then again I'd have seriously considered skipping that if they had just brought the hybrid model to the US.
Cause that would have been sweet.
Yeah, but not the good looks of the hatch.
and it doesnt look all special needs like the prius
The hatchback hybrid is just... excellent looking.
oh yeah they really nailed it with the hatchback
i've been eyeballing it for like 5 months
go test drive it.
It feels as good as it looks.
Very comfy seats.
Did I mention I own this one?
So yes. I'm totally unbiased. 😂
i dont like how they refuse to put a sporty engine in the corolla but they still but like sport bucket seats in it
it's tone deaf
"sporty" buckets
They're comfy... they kind of hold you in.
But they're no Si seats.
And once again... the new 2.0 is plenty sporty.
It's a slow car fast.
the corolla is meant to be the creme de la creme of econo boxes and putting sports seats in it just
I think you are putting too much weight behind the sports bit.
and furthermore they put paddle shifters on a cvt
Then again I think most people have way too high an expectation of modern econoboxes.
if you get the auto
yeah it's got like a real first gear then the rest is cvt
or some such black magic
if it works, it works
does that hatchback have the new 2.0 with the port and direct fuel injection
yep
most excellent
very
It's a nice engine.
Pulls reasonably well, and gets 41 mpg if you take it easy.
On the highway that is.
Also that white leather interior is 💯
oh yeah i've always been a huge fan of lexus and they get the same guys on the interiors for toyota
amazing stuff
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EGgDL2xWoAA3jdT?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 It's a top nacho interior for sure.
Especially the blue glow at night.
i was just watching the engineering explained on the new dynamic force engine toyota is putting out with the 40% thermal
good stuff
Interior has this nice art deco vibe to it.
how is that a J vin car or a 1-4 vin
It's a J.

All the hatchbacks ought to be made in Japan.
My car was assembled in...
Toyota, Aichi, Japan
She was built in June. Same time I was getting ready to leave Japan. heh
that thing has an electronic thermostat and water pump
yep
And electronically controlled intake valve timing.
now is that belt driven
cams are still chain
Thankfully
man on paper it sounds pretty damn good
It's good in practice tbh.
orz
I wonder which factory my car was built in.
Found it... probably.
Takaoka Plant in Aichi prefecture.
Can't you decipher the VIN and find out the plant it was built?
https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification
Maybe even on Toyota's webpage
Vehicle Specification.
You'll probably get an overview like this
Yes
(also different site, but from what I've seen the Toybota page is similar)
Yes 👀
Opel actually shows an exact image of my car on the MyOpel page pogey

1.9 diesel in a 1990 Punto?
Right, the Punto came in 1994
Didn't even realise
And back then it had a 1.7 diesel
What year is yours?
Built November 06, but model year 07

Might sound weird to some but I prefer "regular" cars over supercars
The facelifts Fiat gave the Punto didn't really help, the first version always looked the nicest I think
I like the newer headlights more
They only darkened them, didn't they?
But I find it very difficult not figure out what they could've changed to make it look different
Yeah
I might get a pair for mine, to go with the black wheels and such
That looks like they went; "We have to change something but we don't know what to change"
Ye
They should just have given it new head lights and maybe a honeycomb grill? That's like it
Just some minor changes would have been enough
Ye
That's basically what they did actually, they gave it a different bumper and new lights
The rear changed more than the front
And this is an even later model
It looks confused
Compare the front with mine or the blue you sent, you'll see that the front bumper is the same in terms of mounting
Of course, it's all interchangable
Ye elongated the snout looks odd
They should have changed the mirrors, put them in that window Infront of the front door
They kinda look like antennae or something
I get that
I quite like the look of the Evo model
Also, they went Punto -> Grande Punto -> Punto Evo -> Punto pogey
If it wasn't for the snout they gave it :p
Well the Evo isn't bad, the later Punto (non-Evo) is odd due to the rounded shape
(imho)
hmm they just replaced the punto with the larger 500 over here 😛
Larger 500?
maybe he means the 500L
Probably, but that's quite a lot bigger compared to the Punto
Yes pogey
Y'all are scared to use emotes but I've never seen one get kicked for it
Only $avage but he's special
Still don't get it
Im next in line

First we made have spammed them a little... But then they asked us to stop spamming so we did, we just used the like everybody else. Still got muted.
pogey
Hmpf
So now we are obligated to use them lime this, to make sure we won't get muted stuck_out_tongue
Modern problems require modern solutions

Hey I found this nice one for sale but doesn't show the price. A friend of mine needs a truck for work so this is a nice one
I saw a Celilca today.
It had Castrol livery.
With mudguards and all that.
well
if it continues to rain, it will be fun driving home today
especially now that the RX-7 is faster

gotta love it
rip. hopefully it doesn't affect their work towards cool cars (a-la Stinger/G70)

Samsung, Hyundai, and LG I believe.
how do you fuck up the launch of an Explorer.
The damn thing hasn't changed enough to give you troubles.
i have no idea
a friend of mine, his dad is a manager of a Ford dealer, he says theyve been having huge problems already
“Why are you in the house again, I thought I told you to stay outside”
my future self right here, living alone surrounded by barely operational rotary powered cars
Pretty accurate
Lol
that's a smoke machine, totaly normal
@civic girder ive got a barely running rx8 for sale lol 86k miles
tbf it's gona help with keeping the rust controled
Exhaust manifold rust is not a problem
too bad I have no monies, no space, and already have a rotary to deal with right now. Otherwise I'd prolly take that 8 off your hands, depending on a couple of factors
Oil is great as an anti-rust treatment ok_hand
Done
Pls remove those leafs k thnx
^
I reeeeee'd when I saw the pine needles all over my car this morning
was cleaning them off while it warmed up
carbs in cold weather are 👌

I just recognized that engine
Swapping the sparkplugs on that engine is a fun time

I should probably do plugs on both my cars
one should be pretty stupid easy, idk about the other
thoughts on vw id.3?

The ID.3 is meh, years of developing and teasing... To come up with a vehicle similar to what Kia/Hyundai/Opel has been offering for quite some time now
+-----------+------------+---------------+-------------------+
| VW ID.3 | Kia e-Niro | Opel Ampera-e | Tesla Model 3 SR+ |
+-----------+------------+---------------+-------------------+
| 204 hp | 204 hp | 204 hp | 283 hp |
+-----------+------------+---------------+-------------------+
| 58 kWh | 64 kWh | 60 kWh | 62 kWh |
+-----------+------------+---------------+-------------------+
| 420 km | 455 km | 424 km | 409 km |
+-----------+------------+---------------+-------------------+
| ± €42.000 | €42.510 | €44.799 | €49.998 |
+-----------+------------+---------------+-------------------+
idk since they already have the egolf with a lot less range but the id.3 with the 550km in the largest battery configuration beats it
i like the idea of the up and the golf going electric with the basic cars but the prices and the range suck
especially the e-up
tbh i wished they sticked to the golf design with it 👀
They're both generic forgettable designs imo.
Though packaging of the ID.3 should be superior in every way.
Not needing an engine does open up the options usually.
Any idea what the heck this thing is?
i don't like the kinda futuristic approach of vw
I hardly looks futuristic.
It looks like another VAG product.
Conservatively styled.
That is without a doubt... a VW.
seat 👀
vw in spanish xd
the font stripe between the lights actually reminds me of the up
4 years in development. The car that is VW's future.
Can't say I'm impressed... but at least it's not a Bolt.
i really wish for a follow up to the e up, i just like that car but i don't want to buy a gasoline car anymore and also not something larger but also need some range
I'm sure there will be an ID.2 in a few years.
They may even bring it to the market before Ford lays the log that will be the Mustang styled electric crossover.
Someone needs to slap the CEO of Ford.
I heard that the mustang crossover is only gonna have like
120hp
like its gonna be an eco crossover
not a performance
As long as it has at least 300 miles of range.
Drive throughs with a manual suckkkk
Drive throughs with a manual suckkkk
Why glare
thats why you park your car and walk inside 😛
just be glad you don't have an upgraded clutch
When I engine swap my car I want a small diameter twin disc but that's a lot more work to drive
I just want the ZF 8HP in my next car 🙂
ZF 8HP = best auto
PDK isn't better.
^
Dual clutches aren't as smooth is my understanding.
ZF is definitely better
Torque converter > (dual) clutch auto
If I wanted clutches, I'd get a manual
PDK may be faster?
Honestly the newest gen of torque converter automatics are super fast.
Yeah it's faster, but not as smooth for daily driving
Getting of the line often isn't great, also quite slow when it has to do something it's not expecting (f.e sudden downshift due to overtaking)
Why
Oof
I've seen an XC90 pick-up once
https://global.fncstatic.com/static/managed/img/Leisure/2009/six-wheel-volvo-camera-660.jpg
They are ideal as camera vehicles (:

1,000 SEK = 93 Euro or 103 USD
I'm not familiar with those studded tires
Hakkapeliitta are solid tires. But I'm not looking for studded.
Can't run them on certain streets here.
Of normal winter tires, I know the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-005 came out tests quite well
Idk if that's something you're looking for
Continental WinterContact TS 860 is older but still very good
Michelin Alpin 6 is also a solid choice
And, this one actually surprised me, the Apollo Aspire XP Winter performed very well
I might go with the Michelin X-Ice XI3.
I'm not familiar with those (:
Not bad
I love when people trail out of jurisdiction cops
But man, this reminds me that I should really get a diff for my car...
kinky
Tesla earnings call 2moro

pogey
lol
if i had the money
i might have done this myself
take it out to the desert
just do the fujiwara zone but in a Australian desert and in the wrong year Impreza
@stuck flint i will run you over in this thing
but why
because why the fuck not
I actually became mad at a Tesla driver just now.
He was obviously using "Autopilot". But his eyes were sunk so deep into his phone that it wasn't even funny.
He could at least pretend that he was paying attention to what was happening in front of him.
Yup angery It's not autonomous driving, it's driving assistance
Fancy cruise control
Well yeah it's adaptive cruise control + lane keeping assist
angery No
All cars drive themselves
I still have good alignment
^ yeah i can drive highways without touching the wheel for minutes xD
It's the all-new self driving Corsa
I can't
Car is just old
It's decently in alignment but not perfect, just by nature of 20y/o parts and wheels
Tesla drivers think they're all special and stuff.
But Nissan's propilot actually does a decent job of self driving on the highway.
Which is horrifying.
Mercedes has been working on self driving cars for 30+ years
they've had some pretty significant success
lol
Like GM has super cruise.
But I haven't heard much progress since it was released on a couple of cars.
funny enough it would be useful to have it over here moreso than europe a lot of the time
because americans tend to go on much longer drives
ain't that the truth.
tesla is the only one thats doing anything usable
super cruise is cool but requires too much maitenence
they have to map the road before you can drive it, which has its benefits but isn't sustainable
I mean Super Cruise does work pretty cool, but I think Tesla's system seems to work better.
Despite the hardware.
that and Tesla's system is more ....
flexible
like its understanding whats going on more than super cruise, its not just taking in data from a pre-created map
Dunno if it's more flexible though.
Tesla's systems are exclusively camera based now.
super cruise doesn't work at all unless that company that GM paid has mapped the road
Which limits utility in bad weather.
really?
No radar.
no lidar
i knew no li-dar
I'd have to double check, but I believe it's all camera based now.
i thought it was camera+ normal radar but idk for sure
oh wait, appears it does use radar.
yeah I wouldn't trust it if it didn't have something other than a camera

uh-huh
sure
