Corsa sucks

Corsa is a good car though
Corsa sucks

free nitro for the guy who identifies dis
Sierra
LOL
Ford Sierra Escort Cosworth
Where's my free Nitro
i have drove an escort
That's what google said
Escort Cosworth is on a shortend Sierra platform
Sierra and Escort are two different cars though
My dad used to own a Sierra
@fair bronze +1 for ur dad
I loved that car
"nowdays"
Where's MK free Nitro?! :O
They stopped making an Escort many yeara back
When I saw that the exhaust broke, he put a Remus sports exhaust on it
That thing sounded nice
Goodnight
Gn
only weaklings sleep

Mégane
99% of those are scrapped now
while i see 6 of el everyday
Lolz
I buddy of mine, his grandparents have one. Only one I've seen in years
Exactly, the mechanics were good quality on those
My dad traded the Sierra for the 2nd gen Mégane
bad

Well it was new back then so not unreliable at all
if i had a one
I know
i would keep it no matter what
The Mégane looks nice though

Let me find a similar one to the one we had
thats certainly an interesting looking renault
That's like 1996 with different color body panels
I must say, older cars arent my thing. Though I also like the new vette which is objectively a shitty car, so there's no accoutning for taste
It's a shame the next owner wrecked it as it seems
Only a couple years after my dad traded it in
@stoic ledge https://autorapport.finnik.nl/kenteken/FZ-LN-71
i'd never ever get a car without heated seats
Cooled seats > heated seats
i dont use the feature
^
I don't care about heated seats tbh
my parents cars have cooled seats and tyeyre nice, but I need heated seats in winter
helps combat my allergies
lol
But cooler
Sounds fun
I'm super allergic to cold - so i'm really glad my car has heated seats and warms up quickly

My dad used to have an Escort
and that had some power
But the gen before that one
i wonder what gen is that

nice thicc blanket
Goodnight
Poor E class.
Cooled seats are expensive
Heated is a lot cheaper to implement for the manufacturer.
Just get some tubing and route the side window defrost under your seat
problem solved
Just get a coolshirt.
100,000 miles
I've had no problems in the 8,000 miles I've had this car which is great

"A new feature only for the SE hatchback expands cargo space by omitting the spare tire. A lower load floor frees up six more cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, taking cargo volume to just about 24 cubic feet. Compatible with the SE in either CVT or six-speed manual guise, a tire repair kit replaces the extra rubber. "
Hopefully Toyota doesn't copy Porsche and charge extra for the spare delete.
No, this is for the Corolla.
eugh that makes it even worse...except for the 6-speed manual, that's actually kinda great. That being said trying to sell the lack of a spare as a plus is gross
if toyota sold a manual rwd corolla these days I wouldn't be able to contain my eredction
yerp
thats why i drive 80s or 90s cars only
even the sporty lexus's are so computerized it's like piloting a drone
we still sell these
nowdays i see some shitty opels and mercedes drivin around
and alot of VW
best car I ever had was a BMW e30, rwd drive, light as a feather, short geared stick, and a factory lsd. Had a tiny 1.6L NA engine, but it made a decent 115 horse
all those electric boogaloos
mm
i have once driven an rwd
didnt end up so god likely
rib differential
wasnt my car doh
was an pickup mazda 22000b
1992 version i i remember right
mazda b2200 1992
second best car i've ever had is my current 2016 VW golf sportwagen...it was briefly terrible until I got an ecu tune, and now it makes 250hp and never gets pulled over because apparently navy blue station wagons are invisible to police
the mazda b2000 series pickups were great cars
but its easier to escape bc no license
I once blew past a state trooper on the highway going like 90, was sure I was done, trooper car just sat there like I was going with traffic
lol
this is an sleeper
dis think accelrates like hell as stock
and had nice lookin interior asf
mmmmm old school escort, one of the best cars faord ever pumped out
my dream car list has a mk1 vw golf pickup at the top of the list, a sierra/merkur xr4ti is a close second
mk2 golf is powerful as hell
just some tuning and it will lose grip till third gear
a mk2 16v is tons of fun, an 8v is sadly a little anemic
it's ugly but a mk3 vr6 is also a riot
I have a buddy with a mk4 vr6 gli, one of like only a couple hundred in america
i could install an cold air intake
i wish we had opels, and renaults
why u wish?
merica
theres a couple old hot opels that did work
what i really wish we had was the modern vw scirocco
yeah its just a mk5 gti in a shooting brake body but they are cool goddamnit
haha not over here, they are slightly rare, thats why I miss mine so much
i've actually looked at importing an e30 wagon from finland, costs about $6000 usd for a good one
also looked at importing a corolla ae86 from japan, that's about $7000
out of curiosity what's the take rate on stick shifts over there? They are dieing here which is super sad
electric boogaloo with new engine every week
Que ¿
here manual transmissions are pretty much only available on a few base models from VW, Ford, and Chevy, and then super sport models like the BMW M series, high end mustangs, and high end camaros. Even the new corvette is auto only
Nearly all BMWs are also auto now
Just some 320d and 1/2-series are manual and that's it
it's really hard to get any manual BMW over here that doesn't have an M badge unless you custom ordered it from the factory
Autos are getting more common, at least here.
Don't like it 😛
Engines higher in the range are often an auto... Like could you not 😛
people wait for manual here
I passed my driving test in america in 2006 in a manual passat wagon, and my driving instructor didn't know how to drive stick. Even 13 years ago it was a rarity

99% of driving instructor cars here are manual. If you pass you exam in an auto, you are limited to driving an auto only. If you pass it in a manual, you are allowed to drive both
But since nowadays auto upgrades are almost free around here, and people are tired of using the clutch in traffic, more buy an auto
it's a running joke in the US that having a car with a manual is the best anti-theft device, because car thiefs have no idea how to drive it
Yeah I know 😛
its kinda a thin premise since escalades are the most commonly stolen car, since you can just jam a screwdriver in the steering column and then just push it to a chop shop
I grew up with VWs
my condolences
lol nah all good ones
Well since you took your drivers test in 2006 I assume you grew up around older VWs... Those were ok
Modern VWs are shite 😛
my parents had mk2 gtis, both an 8v and a 16v, a mk3 gli, a mk3 cabrio, a mk4 wolfsburg, a mk3.5 cabrio, a b5 passat, a b5.5 passat, a mk6 diesel beetle convertible(great car despite the controversy), and a mk7 gti
Most stolen cars last year:
- VW Golf
- VW Polo
- BMW 3er
- Renault Clio
- Fiat 500
I've owned a mk5 rabbit and a mk7 golf sportwagen myself and both have been great
Well you US guys didn't get the horrible oil using chain stretching 1.4TSI, clutch eating DQ200 etc
yeah true
the worst we had was the first gen of the mk5 gti with the garbage engine mounts
1L of oil every 1000km / 620 miles is withing factory spec according to VW 😅
oof I had a 2001 geo prism(rebranded corolla) that burned oil like that, ended up cracking the block on a roadtrip because of it haha
A buddy of mine has a Skoda Octavia 1.6TDI DSG, which is basically a Golf Wagon. At 30k miles, he had the clutches replaced. 3k miles later, the clutches are slipping again. It's just horrible
Loooool nice
i don't trust the DSGs myself, always gotta have the manuals, germans make great manuals lol
though my mom's beetle had a decent DSG, was a 2013, sold it back to VW in 2016 after the diesel scandal, got almost sticker price back for it lol, then she bought a used BMW X1

Here they just "fixed them"
A.k.a software update which decreased the reliability... So 95% didn't get the update
Great recall
we had the option to get it "fixed" or sell it back, was a $26k car and we got $23k for it lol
Lol no brainer
especially since she put over 100k miles on it in 3 years
That depreciation is not bad
VW US be like fixing things properly
mm
mm
can't beat a good ole datsun
Btw no there is something new going on here with VW... the actually sold pre-production test vehicles to customers which contain bad parts
Those test vehicles should have been scrapped, but VW decided to selle them 🙃
damn, they treat you guys like garbage
And now they are offering.... Just retail value for those cars, while owners have been driving in possibly unsafe cars for years, with many owner having put in a lot of money recently in maintenance in the assumption they could drive it for years
Yup
1 of the reasons why I would never buy a VW 🙃
we used to think it was bullshit that all our golfs and jettas were assembled in Mexico, but turns out Mexico knows how to make a car if you give em a couple years of practice
We got the Mexican made Jetta... Interior quality was much worse than the EU Golf for example
Autocross
Or demolition derby
we don't talk about the Mexican mk6 jetta, it was a travesty

I mean rear bar suspension, what year is it?!
VW still uses that on lower end engines around here
🙃
But people buy it because it says VW
oof that's awful, we got proper independent rears with the mk6 gli and all versions of the mk7 are setup like proper modern cars
true, we have the 1.4tsi in budget cars, 1.8tsi as an upgrade, and the 2.0tsi in the gti and gli
1.4/1.5TSI is the upgrade here, there is no 1.8TSI and then you get the 2.0TSI GTI/R
we have 2.0 dohc sierras as budget cars
we have no sierras sadly, just fietas and focus's...until next year, when we only get mustangs and trucks
New Fiesta is
we do have 1.8tsi alltracks lol
anyway to keep the pics going, this was my baby https://i.imgur.com/pKkVsU9.jpg
and this was my unfinished project https://i.imgur.com/D1xE9G7.jpg
E30
that e30 was a gem, factory lsd and crank moonroof lol
best part was I had a full set of the factory BBS wheels, with the BMW badge caps, including for the full size spare
which was hilarious because the wheels were worth about as much money as the whole car
Too bad I nearly never see a E30 anymore
@tight cypress how much stuff do you have? xD
enough
the bike is great, i'm constantly on the fence about getting my motorcycle license. Cheap, fun, and economical, but also terrifying lol
I prefer 4 wheels
I just prefer having a big metal cage around me
lol not bad, and it's a bimmer
2 wheels+ cage
die already bmw
my grandfather had one of these monsters before he died, no cage but pretty hard to fall off of https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c6/Can-Am_Spyder_RSS_(02).jpg
They are also sold here, but I've never seen one
yeah never seen one on the road besides my grandpa's, pretty sure they were the wrong mix of expensive and weird
not crazy but most folks with that kind of cash for a bike over here buy a harley or a ducati
a bit morbid but he bought it because he wanted to have fun while waiting for the pancreatic cancer to kill him, rather than die getting tossed off a bike. He also had a v8 ford tbird remake that was a lot of fun, even with the auto in it
I feel
and
at the same time
Good thing he decided to have some fun as long as he could
My grandpa drives a Dacia
haha he would've preferred the
he was a fun guy. I think the bike went to auction, but my aunt saved the tbird, and now she blasts around town in it in his honor
yeah its about that time, later!
I started thinking back on the Koenigsegg Regera.
And just laughing to myself on how you would have to increase the top speed of the car.
If 400 kmh wasn't enough.
I can do it faster on my bike @tight cypress
Don't doubt a Dutchy on a bike
Wha?
What?
Those

Huh?
mods are weird
This past week has been fun. Finding out the various options and features my car may or may not have depending on region.
My goldfish says it's eaten this channel's entire supply of 0W-20 motor oil.

Good thing my car takes 0w-16
Mine takes 5W-30

That Alpine A110
Introducing our latest sports car show down! The all-new Toyota Supra has been one of the most popular sports cars released in 2019, but what chance does it ...
(Alpine A110 is a small, mid-engined sportscar: 252hp @ 1080kg
)
It also weighs nothing
The one in the video is tuned to 300hp? Smoking a TT RS, Cayman GTS and a Supra Mk5
It's a hommage to the original A110:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/99/Renault_Alpine_A_110_(Sp).JPG
I see someone challenging me with a bigger emote picture
Is it time to pull out the 10000x10000
emote?

Filled up my car, and checked my real-world consumption.
60 liters on 764 km's. So 7.8~7.9 L/100 km.
Or 30 MPG (US)
not bad
I've gotten about 27 with around town driving so far.
Granted that was literally my first fill up.
But I live in a mountainous area.
200 or so more miles till engine break in complete
Remember to use your brakes as little as possible when going down the mountains. Engine brake if you can.
Or use the car in front if you to brake.
Very carefully let your car lean on their readend and let them do the work.
I just drag a foot out the door.
But really, Jokes aside. Constantly using the brakes can warp them.
Excessive wear in general.
I just try to push the transmission into 1st gear without clutch
I'm just driving as I usually do.
I could probably drive a bit harder, but Japan really got me stuck in the take it easy mindset.
Luckily where i live we don't have any mountains
Or any high grade hills
Only place you could overheat the brakes and warp them is at a pretty big parking garage where you're all the way on top and going down while braking using the brakes only
It takes a lot to cook brakes.
Normal driving should be fine.
Delivering pizza in a hilly area though. That did the trick.
Pizza here gets delivered on E-bikes lol
lucky?
I'm not sure how I'd feel about delivering pizza on a bike.
Well exhausted and fit probably.
Lol on e-bikes? Here the use small vans xD
Oh I've not been in this chat all day rip
Welcome back
> having Dominos or New York Pizza
Well not nearby xD
Poor you
The dominos and New york are like a 10min walk away from me
KFC and Macdonald's are around a 20~30min bike ride away
KFC and McDonald's are around a 20min car ride away 😛
Dominos and New York Pizza the same
I know 🙃

megane
Mégane

Dodge Magnum. That was an odd car.
🤔 that would handle real bad lol
No worse than the Hellcat and whatever else FCA has coughed up these last few years.
The platforms are competent enough as it stands. Add better tires and up the suspension... should be a fairly fun super boat.
Hellcat is nice
Gotta love top loading an automotive lineup while ignoring anything entry level.
Yikes a base Hellcat would cost 202k USD if my calculations are correct
Yes I know, base model is $60945 USD
But with taxes in 🇳🇱, it would cost 202k USD
🙃
It starts at 67k, and at that price I'm having troubles thinking of any cars that have that power at that price.
Mustang Cobra maybe?
Taxes ftw!
I'm looking at Chargers.
If I'm gonna have anything with that much power. I want a modicum of practicality here.
Thus 4 doors.
well. what is the fastest thing you can get with 4/5 doors...?
That would be 211 449,559 U.S. dollars here
(base Charger Hellcat)
Dollar for dollar. I'd say Hellcat is a pretty good deal
Dodge hellephant engine lmfaoo
@dense shard No, the magnum fezza handles poorly stock, chassis wise
one of the worst handling fezzas in fact bar the testarossa
so if u add another 400bhp or whatever it is to make it 700 even with suspension mods it would suck hard
unless u want to go thru hedges backwards go ahead
Fezza?
If that means Ferrari... not sure how you got there. I'm specifically talking about the LH siblings in FCA's line up. 300, Magnum, Charger, Challenger, and whatever else I missed.
Peak 2000s Chrysler right here.
yep
I hear Mazda used their interior as an inspiration for the interior.
(dark and without rearward visibility)

Test driving the new 3 was a huge disappointment for me. Between less than stellar seats, dark interior, and non-existent rearward visibility... A solid engine and nice materials couldn't salvage it.
For a hot second I thought you meant Model 3 and I was like wot?
@dense shard that's unpopular opinion
I've never driven anything from Mazda other than a first gen miata
You haven't lived @indigo coral
I don't know anyone with them and I can't test drive or rent cars
Since I'm only 17
My point still stands
I'm not necessarily contesting it :P
The Mazda 3 specifically.
Wdym dark interior?
And popular opinions be damned.
I'm calling out all reviewers. Mazda 3's rearward visibility is a huge liability.
Forget the torsion beam rear suspension. I can deal with that.
As for dark interior.
It's black on black on black.
Yeah?
It feels more cramped than it is.
they offer different interior colors
I can only critique what I test drove. I'm gonna put this on Mazda for lacking choice here.
They didn't have what I desired, and frankly they didn't even try that hard to track one down for me.
I remember years ago reading an article that dragged Hyundai for having a black on black interior. Now it seems most cars are doing it.
I like the black on black
I like something to break it up.
And for the Mazda... it just made a tight cabin feel smaller than it was.
I already have a Corolla with a white interior.
I got my wish.
Looks good.
for a minute
Feels good.
It's leather where it counts, cloth elsewhere. Shouldn't be too hard to keep clean.
don't conflate materials with the color of the material
If you don't care for your car, sure.
I accept the interior will wear with time.
But I do plan on keeping it clean.
Light interiors are
I'm willing to accept that challenge.
spray 2k on the seat
2k clearcoat
Have fun
I am.
yep
It's also pretty damn nice in the turns.
Not the fastest car around, but it's fun.
Well I have a 1.2 16v car, so almost any other car is fast
But you don't need a lot of power to have much fun 😛
It's an upgrade from my Suzuki, but perfectly adequate.
It needs a downshift to pass on the highway. Which is always fun.
In the US most are just the generic sedans with an autobox.
lmao
We don't have the sedan, but we do have a wagon version
Non-Hybrid is a 1.2 Turbo here
@dense shard literally thought u were talking about the tv series Magnum PI! hah
US doesn't get a hybrid hatchback. Bit of a bummer.
Oh I was. It was the dumbest thing I could think of to name a hellcat powered Magnum.
oh lol
and only tbh
apparently we have all 3 variants of the Corolla
nice
Still a bit amused that Toyota has two different variants of the Corolla sedan.
2 variants of the sedan?
Apparently yes. One sec.
There is the "Prestige" sold in China and Europe, and then we have the "Sporty" which is sold in North America and Japan... and China under a different name.
Ah lol didn't know that
Well If you want a sporty version... you get the hatchback
Also nearly nobody will get the sedan here anyways so... xD

Sports Tourer is actually the better looking model if you ask me
i see the elder of Kaas
re:earlier that corolla hatchback kinda nice tho
and the tourer is sweet
i'd totally drive that
Probably most sold here will be Hyrbid wagons
It's 1k more and offers a lot more space
celica > corolla 😉

Frankly I'd have paid an extra grand for a wagon with a manual transmission.
But alas... only a hatchback was to be had.
Manual here is only with the 1.2 Turbo
🧀
when will we stop kaas meme
never
^ 🧀
i smell KAas

That moment when a Corolla with 4.5k miles nearly 47k USD costs
wtf
Well a base model here is more than a base model in the US, but even for here that's steep
^
Lol the cheapest Corolla hatchback is 26616 USD here
Lower if you haggle.
Well most cars here are sold on order, dealers don't have much stock
ngl new corolla looks sweet
ever since that body refresh they did a few years ago I've liked em
same with civics
I disagree with Savage xD
no u dont

the one twin got that bushy eyebrows that stand up.
I'll take modern design language over the old school stuff.
Finally feels like we've entered a new era.
This hotel automatically gets a 5 star review because of this being in the lobby
That's pretty nice looking, where is the hotel?
Also, I have an ek civic and my eventual goal is to have it looking like this
Would you consider that to be
"rice"
I'll likely do a b or k or b swap
@steady bridge it’s in Utah
Funny, I'm in utah
That sounds like a good time
The ST academy thing
Lemme just say
I cringed so hard when I heard this
Under frequently asked questions about the driving school
“Are automatics available”
Thank god the answer was no
Hahaha
Focus STs Fiesta STs GT350 mustang and raptor
Glad the answer was no, not to sound like an elitist. Just believe in manual for performance driving
I'd really like to drive a Focus ST
Unless it’s something crazy, you’re gonna want a manual
On something like a Mclaren or a Ford GT I’d prefer the auto but on almost everything else I’ll do the manual
I’m 14 so I don’t have my license or anything but I drove my dads Fiesta ST on the Bonneville salt flats
Manuals are just more fun to drive.
Yea
But for performance driving... automated is the way to go.
I wish that big paddles like on an Alfa Romeo Guilia Quad were more common
Only got two second gear but it was much more engaging than an automatic
I'm close to salt flats, so I don't know why I don't go there
Tiny paddles make so sense to me
But I’m glad Porsche offers a manual on stuff like the GT2 and GT3
I’m pretty sure it comes on the GT2
check again
Turbo hasn't been manual only for a while now.
Lol an auto 911 is €6k cheaper than the same version with a manual
I'm sure that's a surprise to someone.
@stoic ledge gt2rs > GT3Rs
🤔 🤔
GT3 has a manual tho
^ exactly
i wish more manual cars were being made. almost everything now is auto or the double clutch system with the paddles.
not the "true" manual
No one buys new manuals, so automakers don't make em.
It's an issue created by fans of manuals.
Not high enough demand, and I don't think there ever will be again.
"I only buy manuals"
"we, the automakers have a new manual to sell you"
"oh I only buy used"
"we have discontinued manuals"
"reeeee"
And now in 2019... ~3% of new cars are equipped with a manual.
Oh is it at 3%? Last I heard it was closer to 1%
Depends where you look.
You described it perfectly @dense shard
So if anyone continues to offer manuals next year.
You're welcome. I've done my part.
wow copilot farting fahrten is 300 euro
It's a speedy taxi lap.
That would be fun. Taking your own car on the track.
Trick is to not Cars and Coffee your BMW into a guard rail.
It's probably a better idea to rent a track car from one of the rental places around the ring.
Considering that if anything happens to your car, then you're pretty much out of luck.
Your insurance will pay for anything that might have happened to other cars because of what you caused.
But then they will go after you for the damages.
I'm just talking doing it on a standard tourist open track day.
Which is what I'm talking about.
I have no intention of running anything hard. Just being on the track would be enough for me.
Nurburgrin is technically just a normal road during Tourist Drives.
yep

Finally finished with my coilover, brakes and geometry on the accord. Any love for a cl7? I’m biased because it’s my own but I’m so damn proud of how it’s turned out ❤️
I always like the look of those Accords
Those wheels are also really nice
Thanks man, I think the wheels totally finish the car off. I can’t believe how overlooked Accords get (in the Uk anyway) as they’re an epic base to start with
@snow dew that's a really nice car! Love it!
It's quite here too
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Accord was discontinued in Europe iirc
Cool
r32>r35
R34 > all
re:earlier that accord is sweet. good work
He drives a megane, his opinions don't count

R31 isn't bad but I'd rather have the R34 xD
id rather have r32 or r33
Well each to their own
