nope i got into the car scene with the caliber, i never got the neon
Looks clean though
so take your pick, day or night?
For what
i have two picks i like showing off cause i put a fair bit of work nto making it so overkill it looked good
Why not both
The chances of you posting both anyways was probably at least 50%, letโs be real
lol
so overkill but i loved it
cause no one else was even close to that level of lighting haha
underglow? Is it 2004 all over again? ๐
I think the day shot is better
Looks like just the shell of a car ๐ค
There you have mine ๐
I used to have one of those as wel loved it but it sucked lol head gasket issues and traded it down for a first st since I donโt drive it very much my 18 st has 5k miles on it Iโve had it for a long while
Oh that sucks, I love my Ford Focus RS Sooo much ๐ฎ He's now black tho something like this
@stoic ledge 2 much Chrysler
@vital glen Should I fix it with more Opel pics? ๐
I had a dream i bought a mustang. It was a good dream
What's holding you back? xD
Money
Iโve been saving for a couple months now
Iโm about half way
It was an orange 4 door 2005 Mustang. I tried to figure out why it looked weird but couldnโt. Now I know ๐
4 door 2005 Mustang

4 door mustang lol
๐ค
Big yes^
Faster charging (provided proper safety measures are in place for the battery) = much very good
I usually just charge at work. I've only had to supercharge once but the hour I was sitting there sucked
this exists?
lol
welcome to Earth
@shadow osprey thank you
Gotcha covered o7
Decided on a color for the e36, similar to this, signal green
https://news.sky.com/story/bugatti-la-voiture-noire-bought-for-nearly-14-4m-most-expensive-new-car-ever-sold-11657797
Bugatti La Voiture Noire bought for nearly ยฃ14.4m - most expensive new car ever sold
That's quite the green
According to the picture, itโs plenty green
Just taking a sample from the picture wonโt tell you what color it is
Itโs pretty edited
Also I canโt read hexidecimal just from someone telling my the color code
What's the life cycle look like for a Tesla?
Would constantly running it to 0 and charging it up hurt it like a lithium Ion?
Life cycle for the battery that is
There was an article out recently that showed over 150k miles or something like that the depreciation of the battery was like 10%
Hello
Hi
Ho
@shadow osprey how was the testing done?
Lots of math calculations.
does such a thing exist where a hatchback/wagon tailgate can open up then slide back ontop of the roof?
so the whole back end is open
obviously it'd be a custom thing but has it ever been done?
Most likely.
@vital glen idk idc about Teslaโs. Just saw the headline
Replaced all four arb links today
Got rid of the nasty rattle on bumpy roads
Old ones were.. well, questionable
The joints popped out when removing them
hey i need to do that too
Russia is another level https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGWHZecSiXc
Quad-engine Lada - 5.6 liters and 16 cylinders
Probably car people sacrilege but it looks alot like a Miata lmao
Almost
I'm aiming for 123,456 on my odo lol
660cc turbocharged 3 cylinder engine
Due to kei car regulations ofc
Those things are expensive tho
- steeringwheel at the wrong side of the car
- too small for me to fit
Grrr. My car is making bad noises. That usually means money. ๐
Get something reliable like a Japanese car ๐ค
@indigo coral cappuccino is a pretty popular car overseas. Itโs basically a shrunken Miata, if you can believe it. Tiny 3-cyl engine if memory serves
I have a reliable Japanese car lmao @stoic ledge
Hence the ๐ค
lol
I've been asking around/reading around on the Lexus forums and someone recommended to check parts of the exhaust. Apparently the flex coupling has problems sometimes.
@proven gull diesels run cleaner than gasoline cars so...
@shadow osprey weebs, don't have real opinions
Also, you know how many people straight pipe gas cars?
Also, diesels get better mileage
I mean who even uses weeb as an inult?
I take no offence in it I just accept it
cause he watched a single anime, and we have a proper quite guy in my school who is the kind to teleport behind you so we usually start calling him a weeb around him
seems weird without context but it makes him panic really hard
So that's what they do with old Mercs in Germany, lol.
ugh 190E Evos โค
Did you know Mazda directly ripped off the Porsche 944 when designing the FC RX-7?
just a fun fact
A celica supra is the first gen supra
It was a trim of the celica before it became a dedicated car
So... yes. The celica supra is the first gen
And false @vital glen
The A80 is really popular
Correction, it was not a trim option of the Celica, it was just a Celica with a longer front clip
^ someone can read the Wikipedia page ๐
I don't understand Japanese
Why is it painted like the dutch flag ๐ค ๐ณ๐ฑ
Traitor
Who? xD
That's the R32 that destroyed all the Sierra's at Bathurst in 1990
The head of Nismo was watching the race
1991 according to Wikipedia ๐
@stoic ledge listen up here, cite a scholarly source
If it's on the internet, it must be true
Jim Richards and Mark Skaife, easily won the 1991 Bathurst 1000 with Skaife setting the sensational time of 2:12.63 in the Top 10 Runoff for pole which was actually 2/10th faster than George Fury's Group C pole time of 1984 set on the pre-Chase circuit. The pair repeated the win in controversial circumstances in 1992. The car gained the nickname 'Godzilla'.
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathurst_1000
I love this circuit
Only familiar with it because of Forza Motorsport ๐
I like ovals @stoic ledge
I bet you do
You don't understand
Yes
No idea. 2JZ is cool and all, but I don't see the appeal in doing that to a decently powerful, new car.
Because the new supra is really just a rebadged Z4
it's Daigo Saito's supra
and why? because a supra with a freakin bmw engine isn't a supra
:ohno: How does Toyota dare to put in a 3 liter inline 6 twin turbo producing 340hp instead of a 3 liter inline 6 twin turbo ?
Without the co-operating with BMW, there wouldn't have been a new Supra
If Toyota had to develop it all from scratch all alone, it would have been waaay more expensive
Or it would have been a rebadged Lexus
Also apart from the main platform and engine, everything else has been developed by Toyota chassic/suspension/...-wise
I worry that without BMW's help it'd have been veeeerrrry underwhelming. (160hp 4 banger etc)
Modern Toyota isn't really known for sporty cars. Keyword Modern.
oof
Wish mine was equiped with the 6 speed manual
Wish mine was equiped with a stronger engine (:
Me too MK, me too.
Luckily mine is :^)
I've only got 220hp and ~200lb/ft of torque rip
@indigo coral don't judge until you've driven a 1.2
They estimated it had somewhere around 70hp, was speed limited at 65mph.
My parent's dailys are both 365hp tt lol
I learned to drive in my mom's car
then we got my RX300. Which is nice, but damn its not as powerful as my parent's cars
I've come dangerously close to buying a beater to learn stick in a couple times now
Might upgrade to... something else as soon as I'm not a student anymore
๐
Stick is ez ๐
Only car we have that's a stick is a 1966 Bronco
and that's one hell of a handful to drive so it's not a good learning car.
Lucky
I've started on a 48 gear tractor xD
Jeez
5 speed manual
2 (High-Low) x 3 (sub gearbox) x 4 (actual gearbox) x 2 (forewords and backwards)
@indigo coral Nawh
My car is called "The Corsa" since it's a Corsa ๐
Corsa FTW
2016 with the crappy 1.4
Mines named Myrtle lol.
2012 with a 1.2 (:
Manual ๐
It's a cranky old lady car some mornings, and when the antenna goes up and down sometimes it squeals when dirt gets stuck inside, so Moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter
Is that an opc line?
When it squeals it sounds for all the world like her crying in the movies. ๐๐๐
Americans be like ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
Wym ๐
Nope no OPC-Line, but it's a Color Edition
No cupholders or 3 pedals :P
Which means sport suspension, sports exhaust, tinted windows, tinted taillights, sport pedals ...
Yeah OPC is nice but nog really reliable
Yea
Did someone say OPC ?
(white one is mine, red one is the OPC of a buddy)
Corsa E OPC has a good engine
Corsa D OPC not so
Google "piston failure 4" and you get a long list
๐
Seeya
I would've preferred a new and unique supra, rather than one associated with BMW. Even if it was a 160hp 4 banger, the AE86 had less HP and was still a blast to drive.
Does it even have a manual option?
I don't know
Nope only the 8 speed ZF gearbox
Yeah, my friend had one.
It is not that fun
I drove the ae-88
not the 86
Too my knowledge they are very much similiar
in every regard
Maybe you just expect too much out of it... But I mean, my friend let me drive it through my neighborhood's hills, it was a blast.
Welp, I dunno what to say then.
All I know is that it was fun because it felt well balanced, sounded decent, and lightweight.
Fun to drive down the hills, taking turns etc...
@night current the base Supra MkV makes as much horsepower as the Miata
That's sad.
Since when do Miata's make 252hp ?
Supra 2.0T is 252hp, 3.0T 340hp
Miata is max 184hp
I'm confused now.
I read like 197 @stoic ledge
@stoic ledge the base 4cyl without turbo will make 197hp
@night current
ok so according to press release
4 cyl will make 197 and with the turbo it will make 252hp
OH SHIT ๐ WHAT A SPOILER
Got my truck back from the shop on friday. The pump still whines and They somehow reversed the polarity of the HVAC fans because no matter where I set the heat to blow it blows on defrost. Didn't know you could be that stupid. My feet were cold af today
@vital glen You're right, completely missed that ๐ฎ
Both 2.0's have a turbo tho ๐ (B48)
I have seen that spolier joke way top much times.
Does that mean people will buy the base model Supra just to swap it @stoic ledge
Get the base 2.0T and chip tune is to the 252hp version (:
No, put a bigger turbo and made 343hp @stoic ledge
Or just buy a shell from Toyota for 20k and put a 2J in it and have a dope ass race car
or just buy a supra
i mean a real supra
I don't know how much is the new supra for for sure it's way more expensive than an MKII
@warm sparrow but the new supra is the kind of car that
isn't a supra that enthusiast know
but more like
exactly
But now, it is the new Supra so we know that we will never see a real new Supra
it is meant to sell to people whop might of been looking at a corvette
wtf
wdym wtf?
corvette?? what's the relation with the new supra?
maybe it has kinda the same global shape
but that's all
@warm sparrow if you have the money to spend on a corvette or some other sport or gt car
ok but it's really not the same kind of cars
@warm sparrow you are thinking too much into the details of it
think more generally
the new supra is more of a sports car than a gt car now
the corvette and the porsche cayman
all are in that sport car area
around the same price give or take 10k
so you are just talking about price for people who buy cars just to show off
Practically nobody has driven the new Supra, almost everybody: IT'S NOT A SUPRA
Great argument buddy
Well toyota has advertised as not like the classic supra
which was more of a touring car
they are trying to advertise as a sports car
well
lmao
I was wrong
@stoic ledge Well then, why was it always labeled a touring car and not a full fat sports car
Hello it has been a while
The japanese is weird
All I know that
is that
I NEED A V8 IN MY LIFE capscapscapscapcspacs
If the new supra was named something else, I'd be totally fine. Lol
@stoic ledge Do you agree that the supra is competing with the corvette and the cayman and whatever bmw and Mercedes have?
idk why I put now
wait what
it is like
5 cents here
71k for a gt86?
I kinda feel like the BRZ/GT86 is a bit overpriced... Probably about to get blasted for saying this, but like.. 200hp and a very basic interior
and you're closing in on 30k
nobody disagrees withyou
It is a little pricey I agree.
Closer to 20k, my complaints would be out the window.
mhm. And only 156lb/ft of torque.
If it was 20k it'd be good.
The funny part is that my 1999 RX300 is more powerful and more torque. (Not a good comparison, i just find it funny.)
it doesn't hold up
At 20k the 86 would be pretty dang good
meh
but at 30k... There's some very good used alternatives
Hell I'd rather have an ecoboost mustang
which you can get new for that territory
So the Mustang and the GT86 starts at near the same price. LOL.
a gt fastback starts at 35,355
The base 4cyl Mustang has 310hp and 350lb/ft of torque
I'd rather get a new 'stang than the gt86 if they are similar in price.
For almost the exact same price
Youd probably have a more thrilling experience in a mustang.
Even if you nearly kill crowds.
๐
fiat 500 ๐ค
That's adorable
I generally hate Fiats, but that is kinda cute I admit
Lil' ripper
LOL
Eeeek
just found this lol
If I had just like... infinite garage spaces
I'd prefer a Pontiac aztek thank you
lol
You can get a base mustang for less than a BRZ, and it makes... 320hp?
Isn't the base mustang a V6 ecoboost?
Jeez, they have an i4 in them now?
Yup
Since 2015 lol
If they made a V6 ecoboost it would make basically as much as the 5.0 lol
I mean they pull 450hp ez out of the v6 TT ecoboost in the Lincoln Navigator
691 in the Ford GT
Imagine what you can get out of a V8 now @indigo coral
mhmmm
Yeah itโs like 470hp and 510lbft in the raptor or something like that
v6s are where its at tbh
lots of power w/o a ton of weight isnt bad
seems like most cars use them
(though I still prefer EVs)
v8s aren't heavy at all
Aluminum V8 is basically the same
especially the ls
I figured i4s were mostly in small sedans and crossovers
medium and large use i4s a lot too?
Large no, medium mostly
It is just stepping out of the crossover
Also - I'm kinda a noob, would you mind explaining why a v6 is imbalanced?
boundry
Subaru ascent, Ford Edge, Toyota Highlander
the edge is a crossover?
mid-size crossover SUV
Weโll ascent is debatably large. Itโs definitely bigger than most mid size
why is a v6 bad/imbalanced?
Mid size crossover...?
Thatโs not a thing
I donโt fully understand engine balancing myself. It has to do with the layout of cylinders, number of cylinder, and degreeing of the block if itโs a V pattern
V6s are balanced at 120 degrees. You can imagine how huge this would make the engine. Almost boxer huge
What is a V6 engine? Why do cars use V6 engines? What are the benefits of this engine layout? V6 engines are compact and rigid. This allows for versatile pla...
Most are 60 degrees which is a compromise of good enough in most categories
I thought there were smaller angle V6s?
Some are 90 degrees and use extra โdeadโ cylinders to act like a V8 for balancing
At that point I'd imagine you just make it a V8 lol. If you're going to the effort making dead cylinders and stuff
Those are only made by VW and theyโre called VR6
ah
Theyโre like a 20 degree block or something
The Volkswagen VR6 engine has been used in the VW Golf GTI, Passat, Phaeton, Touareg, Beetle, and many of the golf generations, among others. The VR6 engine ...
Well a V6 is more efficient, less emissions so less taxes paid by manufacturers, blah blah
inline v 6 engine
Pretty much, itโs the worst of an i6 and V6 put together lol
the VR6 you mean?
vr6 = v-inline-6
vr6 seems ..compromised if you have to buy it from VW ๐ unreliable
essentially
Yeah, exactly what I said lol
Do 4cyl have the same balancing problems?
Yeah, too few cylinders
So pretty much V8 is about the only thing that's smooth/balanced. Lol.
If it were 2 stroke than it would be balanced, but because of each cylinder needing two rotations for one combustion, its not
An in-line 6 is balanced
Same with any iteration of it
V12
I saw a Passat W8 at my school
Certain degreed V10s
That car seems like an utter nightmare
particularly the w8 which was not nearly used as often as the w12
like why on earth would you do a w8 instead of a v8
None that I know of
two of everything lol
there's literally duplicates of everything
and if one thing goes out of whack the whole system has an utter meltdown
#germanengineering
Exactly
No wonder they were bad lol I didnโt know that
My parents are concerned that our Taurus is going to have issues like our explorer did lol. The 3.5l ecoboost v6 is in both of the cars, the Explorer decided to strech the hell out of it's timing chain. Luckily it was under warranty, but apparently it damaged a bunch of sensors, the chain tensioners, and a few other things I don't remmebr nor do I know what they do. The warranty-covered bill totalled up to 9k.
The Taurus is under extended warranty until 2023 but we're hoping it doesn't have the same problem haha.
(2014 Explorer Sport and 2013 Taurus SHO)
Well seeing as it's an earlier model it's definitely a possibility
If it were a later model then maybe not
Idk why you went with a car with the same engine lol. If you still wanted a sporty car you could have gone with a Fusion sport. 40 less hp but 30 more lb ft of torque.
And it's the 2.7 instead of the 3.5. Have yet to hear any bad things about the 2.7 or 3.0 ecoboost
Got a fantastic deal on this car.
We bought the Explorer first, then snagged the Taurus for 18k. Only had 13k miles on it when we purchased it around a year and a half ago
Currently around 20k
I know there's lower priced SHOs on the internet, but this one is in fantastic condition, very low miles
Both of them are tuxedo black (sparkly black)
18k that's pretty damn good
@vital glen Bit late, but here is some proof of the ridiculous GT86 pricing
I know ๐
So the cheapest is about 71k usd ๐
Manual is โฌ4k (5k usd) more expensive ๐
Logic
@shadow osprey for the same price as you can get a GT86, we can get... An Aygo
I know what I would chose
It's even smaller then a Yaris
lol
lol
The Aygo Crazy was basically a MR2 with a Aygo body on it ๐ RWD, mid engine 200hp 1.8 ...
I still wanna get a kei car and pvc drift it
LOL
Buy one then xD
Aygo is not a kei car btw ๐ 1.0L 69hp is waaay to big for a kei car ๐ ๐
that requires money haha
Daihatsu Cuore from 2002, โฌ400 ๐

@stoic ledge that looks like a Nissan March
@vital glen which one ?
RIP GT86 owners
And that's a Nissan Micra Nismo that never came, but I see what you mean
That's ridiculous that a gt86 costs 71k in your country...
It would probably be cheaper to import one from America if that is possible.
It is possible, but we still have to tax it and it will be 71k again
Full option GT86 is โฌ72k, which is just over 81k usd, which is.... A lot
Cheapest used one is โฌ20k, does that count? ๐
Depends on the condition its in
Looks good in the pics, almost fully loaded (climate control, sat nav ... ), 60k miles and it's a 2012 ๐
You can buy those for like nothing here @stoic ledge
^
Yeah I can see that ๐
Leader in live online salvage and insurance auto auctions. Over 100000 vehicles on sale. Salvage, used cars, trucks, construction equipment, fleet and more.
@night current cheap supercar that I linked
LOL
I've never seen that actually
I love how they literally swept the ashes onto it.
Yeah otherwise it would not be complete
Buy it, and sell it as "art"
You'll probably make a profit
Lol, probably. How much do you think that pile of ashes is worth at it's current state?
Kinda funny how Copart does not show the entire VIN, but when you click on epicvin you get the VIN in the link
https://en.bidfax.info/ferrari/f430/990260-ferrari-f430-scuderia-2008-burn-43l-8-vin-zffkw64a080159451.html
It sold once for $175
Damn, I'm surprised anyone bought that.
Don't think they picked it up, because it's the same seller
Lmao
Lol I just got a shipping quote for it, $1431
Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for
@stoic ledge worth it
Why would you import a GT86 when you can import a skyline for half the cost
True that
Moments you go from a fairly modern car to a old car (not mine still waiting on my falcon to sell)
Oops
Why does that look like a carboard and duct tape job?
the nismo one looks proper tho no bet they did hours of decal and paint work
yep it why i like the old style cars no need to body kit them

I mean, as long as the suspension can travel and the car can move over any urban road without scraping, that's probably bare minimum ride height for me
Not ideal though
But if you can't even turn a corner on flat ground without scrubbing? yeah, pass
Mat farrah's foxbody mustang is a good example of a widebody that's been lowered but still works
Wide bodies should me made to make the wheel base wider for racing
@stoic ledge that burned ferrari is a good deal
Totally serious
Ferrari can't make more road legal F430s for us
but with that VIN, they can make "a repair"
make a whole new F430, even with a manual gearbox.
wut
How? ๐
ask their restoration department to make you the car
porsche, aston, mclaren, jaguar, and ferrari have departments for this exact purpose
most aren't this far gone obviously
Well doesn't that mean transferring the VIN if a car is this far gone? Not sure if that is allowed here.
Because you will need a brand new car to replace this Ferrari, you cannot use an existing VIN on a new vehicle. At least as far as I know if
I know is has been done before, but those people got arrested because it's illegal
But those people are not going through the manufacturer
this isn't a VIN swap legally speaking
this is making a NEW car, using that same VIN
not the same thing
Ok then
@proven gull thatโs not a widebody kit, thatโs barely over fenders. Though the livery makes it pretty hard to see
Also that FB is not stance nation
And that skyline is pretty sexy
Model Y unveiling is about to begin ๐
Yall know rob dahm right?
Never heard of him /s
yeah its kinda boring
the model y
was hoping there'd be a Model S refresh or something
Well hes from my city and my friends know him
N I gotta lil shout out when they were talking to him
Means a lot cause basically all rotary knowledge I have is from him
@indigo coral yeah no
yeah no to a model s refresh? I know, i watched the event
the model y is not kind of boring
it is fucking boring
like the definition of boring
Even as a Tesla fan, there was nothing particularly interesting in it.
Although I think they said it would be fully self driving near the end of 2019.
I imagine someone could've literally made it in photoshop, because the front and rear look the exact same as the model 3.
But hey, they now have their S3XY lineup.
Model 3 is a fantastic car, but the Y is just the 3 rehashed.
@indigo coral it is alright
it is all 1st gen shit
more like 1.5
if you count the og roadster
i'm not a huge fan of how the new supra looks
i feel like the just squished the ft-1 and called it a day
and it doesn't quite sit right
it needs to be wider
205 T16 ๐
All fixed up ๐
It's the deflector that came with the car
Imo the car looks bad without it, it's got this tiny ugly chrome bar and it's igly
Ugly*
the whole car is ugly
๐
@vital glen I kinda like the looks of modern monte carlos tbh been looking around my area again.
@vital glen the 2000s monte carlo ss doesn't look too bad tbh
the look @turbid karma
Eh, I don't find it too bad until I see the headlights.
@vital glen I could pick up a 95 trans am instead for 1000
This poor guy was at autozone for some stuff, and as he was leaving this happened:
mood
tf
leased car doesn't have included service?
nope
Wrong lease then.
shrug i dont know the cost but apparently its a dirt cheap lease
parents dont put enough miles on it cause this is their car they keep at my house for when they visit
so i put 6000 on
owe them oil
lol
its a 3 year lease and its low $100's
its a base model ford focus
is it worth buying a car for 1000 if you need to replace shit like the transmission?
I am considering this one 95 trans am, but it needs work. The car runs, but the transmission is having issues.
@turbid karma depends on whether you want a "project car" or not, and if you have a mechanic inspect it to tell you what needs doing, and if that mechanic is trustworthy.
@jagged wagon my sister, her friends, and my brother in law are there for that aspect. They do cars I do computers. And, they know what they're doing.
That's awesome, in that case, it's worth checking it out. How many KMs on it and is it the first owner? second owner? etc. I'll be a bit biased because I actually want a Pontiac Firebird... a lot. (certain "sport" models of the Trans Am are actually known as the Firebird, depending on what performance packages they came with)
275000 miles, but I may or may not buy it this year cuz I have other stuff I have to buy this year. But, stuff like this doesn't sell easily where I live.
Not sure of ownership stuff cuz it's on craigslist and people don't usually list if they are the second owner or things like that in Maryland.
but, I give my sister the money and her husband and her go and inspect it that's how it would go.
Fair enough; plus you'd have to trust their word too ๐ Maybe at least go look at it to get a feel for used car sales in your area, but you of course don't have to buy it. We went looking at 3-4 cars before I bought my first Corolla - sometimes you don't know until you look in person.
Erm, bad idea. Even if you trust family, I would never purchase something without seeing it myself. There will be things that you'll see / catch which your family may not, and vice versa. More eyes = more chances to catch something that doesn't look right.
firebirds/trans ams are actually pretty common here. Usually at the end of the year muscle car versions go on sale on craigslist for under 4 grand. I wonder what would cost me more a paint job or a transmission. I don't do cars, they do. XD
If you go to Annapolis around the bridge areas you'll usually see an 80s firebird driving around, and during the summer about 10+ more at a time.
depends on how you get a transmisson
a rebuild will cost more than the car
a junkyard trans near me is $100
depends on what you want
I'm praying mine doesn't go out. Even a used one is still over 3k.
@tall kiln my sis usually goes to junkyards and would do the work for free for me. But, I could get an 87 that just needs to be cleaned and painted for less than 2 grand
Bbs goodness
Kilometers on a trans am :lul: I don't think so
A junkyard T-56 is not $100. If you can find a T-56 for $100 then I'll invest my life savings into buying them and reselling them here for $600-1000
I wouldn't buy a trans am for a grand if it needs a transmission
You can probably find one in decent mechanical condition for 3k and it'll be well worth the hassle of not having to pull the bottom of the car apart
Needless to say a $1000 car probably has more problems with it, and is most likely really rusty.
@patent basalt are bbs just for looks, or do they save weight?
I just like the looks lol
is it the lighting or did you order rust brown for the center?
Damn, nice bbs wheels!
@shadow osprey well, I can get running 80s trans ams around here for around 2 grand that just need paint jobs
they are powdercoated brown probably going red for the centers soon
@turbid karma then do it
if it is running with basically no rust
better than the one worth a 1k
I might wait for more to go on the used market cuz the one apparently has a lil rust after looking at it more.
does it have the 350 or the 302 in it? @turbid karma
"I have a 87 Trans Am T-tops 5.0 tpi. Has alot of new parts just needs some tlc." that's the most info
dat front end though
@vital glen
so a 302
Would it be better to wait until next year when more are on the market and my seizures aren't preventing me from driving? I could do it now, but it would mostly be sitting there for a year.
@turbid karma is the Trans Am in the picture the one they went to look at for $1000 for you?
I haven't shown my sister, but no this is for like 1500. The 1000 is a 95
This one runs fine it just need a paint job and some cleaning
Yeah, even if you want a project car, I would at least compare from 5 or so options before making a decision.
I'll wait a year or 2 then I can easily have 2200-3400 If I stop buying shit I don't need for like a year. Then my sister is putting a lil more on top
cuz I gave her friend a car for free.
Also, is it true it's not good to let a car sit for like a year or few?
I'll wait like a year or two then when more are on the market and I can afford like 3-4 grandish.
that's why people that garage sit their cars
start it up
and have a battery tender on it
every weekend or so
I'm just not letting my dad drive it. <.< He crashed 2 MR2s and is a curb rider like a soccer mom with an SUV.
Nice
@vital glen there's also a guy here trying to get rid of a Nova, but I'm not sure if that's my style or not.
there's also this thing for near 3 grand 85 monte carlo that is dirty as fuck XD
Still looks in good shape to me lol
Would be nice if I own this cars that I discovered at the parking lot
With a nice v10 engine :3
Anyway should I still be driving my familys car with 450.000 miles. I've oil changed it every 15.000 miles. It's a Hyundai Tucson 2005
I don't see a problem with driving a vehicle until it dies, as long as regular maintenance is kept up on it. Obviously the older it gets the less likely I'd be inclined to drive it far outside of my city, but still would keep driving it.
Hell yeah
@shadow osprey at every junkyard around me, a transmission, no matter what it is is $100
I suggest doing what I said lmao
No one is going to buy a used t56 for more than $100, when they can just go to a junkyard and get one themselves
The one down the road from me does a engine + trans sale monthy, for $100 total excluding fees
Fees being core charge and taxes
The problem may be that you might not be able to find one, but you can always search inventory online every few weeks (the ones near me change their inventory every 3) to see if that have what you want, I've caught some good deals by doing this
Anyone know what might cause this..?
Been trying to find an electrical issue in my Chrysler 300M for a few months now. A few days ago I was messing around with it a bit, cleaned the connections, and started the car to do a little testing on the alternator. Car started rough the first time, but started normally afterwards. I hadn't started the car for a few weeks, which might explain that.
Disconnected the battery afterwards, just so it couldn't be drained by who knows what.
Yesterday I went out to mess with it a little more, everything seemed normal at first, battery voltage was reading 12.4v. Dash lights and all that jazz came on when the key was switched to on, but once I tried starting the car, the lights cut out and I was left with just the oil pressure light, which normally is on until the car is started. Couldn't get dash lights to come back on by turning the key to off then back to on. Managed to get them back on by disconnecting the battery, waiting a minute, then reconnecting it. Same deal as before when I tried starting the car.
The oil pressure light dimmed considerably when I tried starting the car, but was lit up normally otherwise. Double checked that all the connections were secure and got no improvement.
Any ideas? All the ground points I can find are solid and clean. Just ordered new battery cables so I can rule those out. Alternator passed all the tests at AutoZone and was good when I checked how much current it was putting out (Saw as high as 80-90A while the engine was running with AC, radio, high beams, fans maxed, etc...) and when I checked the diodes. Battery is brand new and clean.
Are you sure it's not a dud battery?
or it's a Chrysler product
anyone know a good Tesla dashboard sim (I'm aware that there's that website but that's when the model 3 was announced so I was hoping for progress)
@lime copper yes, the battery is fine.
Honestly, sounds like a Chrysler product
My trucks interior lights will come on randomly if I hit a bump or a pothole big enough
I cant get them to go off unless I disconnect the battery. It's a 97 Ram
@fresh bluff look up project farm, hes been testing oil recently and he has a video on Amazon basics vs Mobil one
It's better than you think
Your problem is you bought a chrysler @short slate
It wasn't my choice, my uncle practically gave it to me :(
lol
American guys, you know what to do
lol
Didn't Doug DeMuro review it? ๐
This code is the most annoying code ever
It's the high pressure fuel system low pressure code
Except I haven't had any issues besides when starting up the car so the pump might be dying or something, or the sensor is just shit
It's intermittent at least.
At least it's not something new
That sensor in particular is a pain to change on my car afaik
But itโs cheaper than doing an HPFP

@civic spoke since now
More codes. Woo
Engine was kinda bouncing between a thousand rpm or so when I gave it a bit of gas today.
So I guess something is fucked
@civic spoke The new Supra has an inline six
this just makes me sad https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/377189206345538/
rare as hell 4wd just left to rust
I am slowly becoming a truck driver.
I know where there's an FJ45 just sitting outside like that
If I was in the market for an offroad project I'd probably try to buy it
it's pretty rusty but rust repair is simple on those
there's like 3 curves on the whole thing
I'm doing a course to get a C license. And I passed the theory test yesterday. But I still have a bunch of tests left to do.
It feels like.
c is a bus licence no? interesting
D is bus over here.
I'll be able to drive this stuff with a normal C license.
Just nothing with a trailer. That requires CE.
Still haven't done any actual driving, though. First session for that is next week.
Well, I guess you can just call them "Heavy Goods Vehicle"
This is a normal combination here in Sweden.
this is pretty standard here
US trucks just don't fly over here in Europe. They are way too long.
What is it, there is only really restrictions on how long the trailer can be over in USA?
For use it is the cab and the whole thing.
And cab-overs have a much better turning radius. Which helps in cities.
pretty much yeah
I'm in Canada but we have basically the same rules as the US
It used to be that there was a max length for truck & trailers so cabovers were useful, but now there's not much point to them
Trucks over there drive straight, and for longer distances.
yee
There are still 1 or 2 freeways that I know of where there is a max length limitation so they use cabover trucks with 2 or 3 'trains'
So there isn't much of a need for the cabovers.
america is known for straight roads
just come to aus we have a 3 day road :P
The longest combinations here in Sweden is 25.25 meters.
only a 3 day road? ๐
Trust me, Australia is worse.
yep 3 days with basicly road
Australia have these things.
wait there's a road in Australia that's literally just a straight road for 91 miles
I mean I90 in the US isn't a straight road but it's about 3020 miles long
I see that Australia has a road that is 14,500 kilometers long
hm
Panamerican highway
48,000 km
all the way from Alaska to Argentina
@civic spoke are those normal in Sweden, not these ?
https://vdwerff.nl/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/nieuws-daf-truck.png
They are also common in Sweden.
But far more common to have one of those heavy goods vehicles as the tractor pulling another trailor.
Ah ok ๐
@stoic ledge I need to find an Amish car chat
looking at aussie roads and found this https://www.dangerousroads.org/australia-and-oceania/australia/2258-old-telegraph-track.html best way to get to the tip of australia
@vital glen why tho ?
Been spending most our lives living in an Amish paradise.
@stoic ledge think about all the real mustangs they tame
and the wooden wheel configs
and the different carriages of the carriages
You are not trucks you often see here, it's either like those but without a trailer (the one you can drive with a C-license) of the semi I linked before (the Daf)
๐
True. The ones mostly seen are normal C trucks. Since I live in a big city.
But for trailers, then the ones I shared are really common.
Yellow/Red one is what I'll be able to drive with a normal C license.
I just hope that I will be able to get an early time for the driving test. So that I won't have to wait months for it.
There are heaps of jobs that requires is. Which is why I got it.
And they all pay well enough.
Starting off at like $2,700~2,900 USD
I also learned something new on Wikipedia ๐
Conventionalย cabs are the most common in North America and Australia, and are known in the UK as "American cabs" and in the Netherlands as "torpedo cabs". I'm Dutch, but never called it a torpedo cab
@stoic ledge I call them dog house trucks.
Me?
@civic spoke lol I can picture why you call it that ๐
E46 320i. But it has been off the road for way too long.
No sorry, i meanr Jakkuh
I still have the E92 335i yeah, it's being sold friday ๐
M3 is a good replacement
The M3 is ๐
E46 320i isn't bad either
kraut barges
@pallid sky Are you going to do the rod bearing overhaul?
Or has it already been done?
@odd talon Wasn't any indication of wear in oil analysis but I plan on doing it next month
@pallid sky Good move, replacing the engine would suck.
Otherwise the E9x M3 is really solid
6MT or DCT?
@patent basalt ofc it does
Itโs just that powerful it canโt stop lol
What is it putting out right now?
https://www.thedrive.com/news/27058/ohio-ford-dealer-at-it-again-with-budget-conscious-1000-hp-twin-turbo-ford-mustang @stoic ledge
Go to us, go to Ohio, then buy a budget 1000hp mustang
I wish I could
Like 150 lol
Cab-over trucks are shit, change my mind
@shadow osprey they are shorter, which means you can pull larger trailers in length-restricted countries
True true
US is length restricted though
I guess that explains the single axle also
Is there a length restriction in the US? Don't know, I did find this:
https://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight/publications/size_regs_final_rpt/images/fig2.gif
The minimum allowable length limit for the semitrailer in this combination is 14.63 m (48 feet) or the grandfathered limit for a particular State. (See discussion of Grandfathered Semitrailer Lengths on page 3.) A State may not impose an overall vehicle length limit on a truck tractor-semitrailer combination operating on the NN or reasonable access routes, even if the trailer is longer than the minimum length required by Federal law (Figure 2).ย
So minimum length but no maximum
Lol, well the maximum size of a trailer over here is 13.60 meters (53ft), maximum combination size (truck + trailer) is 18.75 meters (61ft)
Damn Iโm over that with my camper and pickup or damn near at least
