plus if you can retrofit the epas system you can get the car to steer by itself
really though, i think the smoothest ride possible would be a electric motor paired with a mid 70s gm powerglide
theyre smooth man
oh i know
its one thing gm did right
having a transmission in place makes it easier build wise in a conversion
and for simplicity
re: the build itself
yeah, i can see that esp for a rear drive application
yeah definitley
like making an ev that way is just a matter of engine out, hooking up electrics, wiring, ect, off you go
but yeah i'd love a old T2 van
oh hell yeah
but with the brakes of a modern porsche, and chevy bolt drivetrain
and since theres always more teslas being crashed there wont ever be a short supply of drivetrains
BREMBOS
i'd be okay with the bolt or tesla drivetrain
i am unhappy with the leaf's battery thermals
either is good
the battery degradation on the leaf is too high
id resign the leaf for just making it a in town go kart so to speak
but the driving and comfort is very good
its a nissan
Does Luke have an X? I thought he drove an Acura...
in scrapyard wars he has an acura, but i think he has an x now
really tho re: batteries till they stop using li-ion and change to something with a longer life we just gotta deal with this nonesense
and the weight
good lord
i mean li-ion is better than nicad but
progress can be made
restomod? hell nah
and the honda clarity
i mean its very clear hydrogen is making headway
if the infastructure is funded and accepted i could see it
i think it will be created by Shell and the like
i had a 82 240 turbo wagon that had a partial hydrogen system in it but that was to aid combustion
oh definitley
since theyre already doin that
the problem is that if gas stations don't exist
long distance travel is severely hindered
i want hydrogen or eco-battery powered cars driving autonomously
vs lots of plane trips
i can see it, but personally im all for the driving part
me too
i love driving
but i hate dumb commutes
if you've lived in NYC, Seattle, or SF
i might be the weirdo then
in 1 hour, i drove less than a mile
sounds rough
i was in seattle some time ago and i never had it that bad, but that was like, near the space needle
im from pdx so i dont know seattle at all really
yeah its so bad now that we're allowed to drive on the shoulder
during rush hour
and the HOV lane costs money
as a result i actually take the bus now, whereas i NEVER would have considered it
thats fair
i mean if you're in traffic for 90 min, its better to get work done
its not driving pleasure at that point
just ick
shrug
my line of work i cant get work done on my commute even if i wanted
all my work is hands on at the site
so yknow each their own
yeah
i mean somtimes i fill paperwork but its like maybe 10 minutes max at a job
usually none
but yeah for people who are busy, i can really see how autonomous cars would help
or those who cant drive
oh totally
i was super excited way back when it started with that govt incentivized challenge
watching the humvee go a few miles that first time
and the leaps and bounds the teams took next time
there was a video on it i think
back then epas wasnt even common
yeah
might buy an '01 Mercury Sable Wagon
You could compare it to just about any sporty coupe from the last 20 years and you'd be right
Similar to a 370Z also
and the Z4 it's based on
¯_(ツ)_/¯
But I won't be buying one so... I guess I don't care. I can kiss my dreams of owning a MK4 goodbye though, prices will have skyrocketed by now
And will only grow for the rest of it's life
@shadow osprey if the tib's front bumper looked more angry it would be an exact replica
They’re all the same these days
Wide low grille, side scoops/fogs, upturned rear quarter window, maybe a side scoop or vent, and dual exhaust
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Man that BMW grille looks terrible
Don't get me wrong, I like the 370Z
Just the Nismo front bumper looks wierd
Like a cat fish
Especially the earlier models
And apparently i'm not the only one:
https://jalopnik.com/5202547/2009-nismo-370z-the-350-hp-flying-catfish
anyone who’s hot on turbos - how’s this looking to you? 91,000 miles. The oil puddle is from the PCV but I’m slightly confused as to what could have worn the leading edges of the main blades out and left the smaller blades in perfect condition
Personally new to turbo’s so it’s perhaps an obvious question but I’d expect normal wear and tear to take its toll on both sets of leading edges?
Also if anyone knows the name of those parts instead of “main blades” and “smaller blades” please do inform me
No idea what the different names are, or if there are even any, but it would make sense, since the secondary boxes sit further back from the primary ones, so any debris that entered would most likely hit only the primary blades
Do you have a shitty air filter? Or any air filter
new cars follow a trend yes, but theyre all still unique, and i can appreciate it
theyre all a product of the era
like I personally, really really love how the 2014-2018 silverado and gmc sierras look
especially the no chrome single cab long beds
its so hard to actually find one though since most of those are sold in BULK
So the new Supra
I'm a euro guy so it doesn't affect me but. They're rebodying something with a detuned engine compared to the original BMW, and trying to pass it off as a new craft.
That seems rather insulting to their highly loyal fanbase.
Now they're considering cancelling the gt86. I wonder if it's because it puts out more power than the 4cyl base Supra.
How do you make a hyped car, worse than the worst modern "performance" car of all time
@coral wolf easy
Its an overblown smart
could definitley have more fun by just finding a metro lsi 5sp and just putting a turbo on it
XD
For40k
I'd get a golf r
Or a gti with stupid stable power
Good job Toyota
Now instead of brzs and gt86s, all the local douchebaggery on campus will have their dad buy them the 4cyl supra
They'll really think it's a racecar
Omg
The brz is just a new platform for a new gen of fast and the furious idiots
Wait, the 4 cyl supra makes less than 200 hp?
I'm convinced manufacturers don't want to bring back inline 6s because they know they're more reliable and sound wayyyy better than V6s. And can probably hold more power easier. Don't get me wrong, V6s can be good, but they don't often sound good. Mostly like trumpets (looking at you, Z cars). BMW is pretty much the only manufacturer to hold onto the inline 6, and those never sounded super amazing either, not like a JZ or RB at least... so kind of a wash there.
Also, older Jeep 3.9L and Ford 4.9L i6s were both completely bullet proof, dirt cheap to repair, and made plenty of torque.
its planned obsolescence
As a mechanic is so gd infuriating
nothing made now is truly reliable
I wouldn't go that far. LSs and Mod motors are pretty damn good
It's more the electronics that make things shitty
I'm gonna stay over here with my EA888, IS38 turbo. Reliable parts and engine with inexpensive and vast parts, and durability.
I love how car companies know they can top mount the filter and make a drain for the oil
But don't
My GTI, you just half turn the oil filter from up top (it has a bolt on it to be loosened) and throw open the drain from in front of the engine
And it's draining
Is nice
@shadow osprey no idea what the previous owner’s been doing but I’ve either had the stock filter on it or more recently a reusable pod filter
@coral wolf have you had your tensioners done on your 888
Ah understandable
That's the one thing my friend loved about the Supra, the front bumper.
Looks like the car was smiling :p
Also
Opinions on the new 911?
(Well front wise it's still the same, but the rear is different at least)
@midnight peak 👌 i agree 90%
new supra is not "disgusting" but definitely not a supra, it looks too much like lots of others cars
and the second one on your pic is perfect! THIS is a Supra! love it
this thing on the middle of the front is weird and i really don't like the lights
these strips are ugly
et looks like shit, even just the light of the alternativ car would make the real supra much better
First pic of the Supra we got looks so stiff and boring
The second pic makes the car look excited and gives it more of a fun look rather than stiff and serious
not just that, it is beautiful
the other is weird, i hate this thing they did at the front
it doesn't even look like a toyota
more like a lexus
the more i look at the new supra, the more i hate it
why do they always put the exhaust in the fcking bumper, it was much better like on the old cars
a good old big exhaust coming from down below
they tried to make the 992 look more modern and more unique and different
IMO it was wrong and they shouldn't have gone this far
the wide red reflective bar makes the rear look like an audi to me
like an A7/RS7
but the front and sides are NOICE
@midnight peak agreed, tail is a bit too much for me + I'm not really fond of the spoiler design :p
@shadow osprey bmw sealed transmissions 😬
ie: the worst thing ever
ls tho, hell yea
theres great things to be done with electronics in cars, but theyre not being made reliably
Onboard computer is unaccurate imho
full tank does about 280miles/320miles (50% city driving and 50% motorway/50mph+ roads) with a full 55l tank so is slightly off
official numbers
Yeah official numbers can never be achieved
Atleast not with the NEDC
Now with the WLTP, it's more realistic but still
Also, ±300 miles om 55 l ? That's more fuel used then I would expect
the mpg on the motorway is good but in cities going 30 or less is
its a 2.0l petrol and chugs like a sports car
and it only has 140bhp
most inefficient Korean car out there
its not
I know 😛
Nice upgrade
im a student i cant afford that
I feel ya
im looking at a audi a4/5
atleast you can pick up 15 year old girls at MacDonald's

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201812063057431?advertising-location=at_cars&radius=1500&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&make=AUDI&sort=sponsored&model=A5&postcode=sn140hx&maximum-badge-engine-size=2.0&page=1 i was looking at this audi, take it and pay it off over 4 years
although it has high mileage
1.8TFSI... good luck
True
im probably gonna keep my Hyundai for a while, although its a gas guzzler it is reliable and enjoyable to drive
installing a audio setup this weekend aswell
Yeah getting a 4 year loan on an Audi is not a good idea tbh
It will only cost more
xD
old mercs are reliable (untill the body rots and turns into dust)
You're better off with a 3er or C-klass, then you'll also get RWD 😉
Yeah get an old 190D

Run it on vegetable oil
You can also get a 350Z for the same price as a A4/A5
laughs in student debt
They start from €9k here, but those are high milers
maybe in a year or 2 i could afford that
As long as i'm a student, i'm probably gonna keep the Corsa :p
you can pick up girls easily in that
well at the end of this year i'll work
so if i find a job in switzerland it would be cool 😎
im on £9k/year as a student at the moment (not paying any rent) and i still blow though all of it
Picking up.girls has been succesful 😉
😡
just found a 350z anniversary edition, 15.500€ , 67500Km
Inb4 Lloyd's 307 FAP
Sell a kidney
why doesn't enjoy a good FAP?
my dad's car has a FAP
Nice
🤔
lots of FAP in this channel
😏 😏 😏
2.0 136 i think

Your guyses thought on the Stinger GT?
yeah, the GT is a great value
I love it
Looks cool
Great handling
Great price
Most of them are diesel here tho, of 2.0T. GT 3.3 V6 has a 30k price premium here
#DieselLivesMatter
@hexed arrow A5 is a fantastic car but anything under 3.0 is underpowered compared to its weight
@primal kelp good luck insuring a 3.0 when you are under 20, and have less than a year on your license
I’m 21 and I have the 3.0TDI
being under 21 is a massive price difference
uk
and the 1st year of insurance is always expensive, paying £1,600 insurance
My old swift was £1200 on its first year and 850 on the second
Goes down quick in first couple years and tails off after that
my coupe next year drops from £1600 to £700
2.0 gen3 coupe
a what
hyundai coupe
Ah right ok
Oh the later model
What’s that like to drive? I looked into it for my next car after the swift
Ended up getting the A5 but hey
I know they did a v6 in that model but they made it fwd so it’s a wasted v6
acceleration is meh, cornering is good, fuel economy is shite, comfortable leather seats, its got a sunroof.
and its reliable
im taking it to castle combe next month to see how it drives on a track
Mine’s remapped to 302 and 600NM. Acceleration is violent, cornering is planted as all hell until it’s nothing but understeer, fuel economy when remapped is great for a 3.0 if you behave, interior is pure luxury. Sadly no sunroof but apparently will run to 250,000 miles
How much are tickets for there?
forgot to mention, launches are spine shattering. AWD system means fucking business lmao
Surprisingly cheap
they cancelled the one next month
Pls tell me it's not the Multitrauma transmission in that Audi
fuck off with your automatic shit
Ly2 buddy
6spd manual
Better
Multitronic is just asking for trouble
Tiptronic is ok, S-Tronic is a good dsg box but has problems with clutch packs contaminating oil and wearing themselves out prematurely
Anything with a CVT in it is just a problem waiting to happen
Unless it’s like a Honda jazz or something that won’t see much abuse, makes sense there for efficiency
Good DSG box 😂
Dad's A6 3.0tdi is an S-Tronic. It drives great
no experience with them, just from what I’ve heard
They’re ok until they aren’t
Like, well, most things
sums up audi/bmw/merc "They’re ok until they aren’t"
Atleast they are not dry clutches
Like cheaper VAG shizzle, those dry clutch dsg are horrible
Ikr
Once it’s actually going it’s ok but
And the engine hunting around in RPM while it’s trying to find where to bite the clutch in
<60k often
“Am I moving yet? Better slam the clutch in and out a few more times”
60k miles that is
Gearbox like a learner driver
Lmao my ma’s one has 23k on the clock
The ea211 is a fucking horrible engine too
It rattles so much
Oeh the chain ?
And they’ve made it have some resonator to make it sound like a bigger engine lmao
No it’s belt driven
AFAIK it’s belt driven and the cams are chain linked
Ea111 was chain driven timebomb engine
1.2 TSI?
Yeah the modern VAG quality is
Nothing like my 3.0 CAPA
fucking bulletproof lump of steel
Apart from, you guessed it; timing chain tensopners
Nice
I’ll be back in a bit, rowing machine time

3.0’s shockingly easy to service tbh
I expected it to be German and complicated but, no
Shame I’m gonna be doing that every 5000 miles 😂
😂
Why so fast
Isn't the interval like 20k miles ?
Yeah if I searched correct, it's 30k km's (or about 20k miles)
Mate 20k if you want your timing chains to fucking die
Oil changes by the book are every 10k and Audi service is every 20k
According to all known sources of 3.0tdi the cleaner you keep the oil the longer the chains will last
Some people reccomend 7k, some 9, some 5. I can afford to do 5 so I will
Costs me like 50 quid for the oil and twenty for the filter. Sump plug washers are plentiful in supply
When I changed the oil on this the other day it was nearing a year since last service and had done 9300mi. Oil was fucking horrific. If that’s what 10k is gonna be like then 5k all the way
Tbh I'd consider that unexeptable for a diesel
I mean 5k miles, I know people who do that every 2 months
That's nuts
It would probably do fine on 10k oil changes but I aim to make this engine last longer than the metalwork of the car so
the new Toyota Supra gave me aids
@primal kelp I'd just say shitty air and old filter
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Wouldn't worry about it as long as the blade's tight and doesn't wiggle around
And who the fuck waits 10k to change their oil?
If you give even a single shit about your car, you change your oil every 5k
10k miles

@shadow osprey my old swift had 12k intervals, did that at 10. Then again it was a 1.2 petrol and the oil after 10k was still pretty clean. Suppose it depends on the fuel type and engine
If you give even a single shit about your car, you change your oil every 5k
Why would you do that ? For most cars it's unnecessary
The cleaner you keep the oil the less deposits you get around the engine etc, longer it lives. Lots of cars using timing chains these days, timing chains want, no, literally demand clean oil
CBC marketplace did an investigation into the frequency of oil changes. Basically, there is a cut off on the efficiency curve of how clean you keep the oil vs. the time, money, and effort that goes into changing oil, even if you do it yourself. (which is really easy, by the way)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUS528M1ke0
How often should you change your engine oil? In a hidden camera investigation, we test what you're told at the dealership and then actually test your engine ...
That’s why people suggest doing short change intervals on the 3.0, it’s a diesel so it dirties it’s oil pretty quick and that has an impact on the life of the timing kit which you have to remove the whole engine to change
Change the oil a bit more often or remove the whole ass engine from the car and rebuild the timing kit. No-brainer
I literally know nobody who changes it every 5k miles, just when it goes in for a service every year, or when the car tells them to if they drive more km's a year
My interval is about 20k miles (30k kms) for a 1.2 petrol/LPG 😂
I get it replaced once a year with every service
And yes it has a timing chain
That makes me die inside but at the very least a 1.2 isn’t going to put much strain on the chain
You're literally the first ever to tell me it needs to go in so often
Even the dealership never tried to make me do an extra oil chsnge
It's long life oil
I do check the oil level regulary tho, and top it off if necessary
Lol last time i changed my oil was like 2 years ago
But i did like 20k Km
Tho i should do it 🤔 when winter is gone maybe
Dealerships get money out of you if the engine blows up tho lmao
Long life oil is a fallacy. Snake oil. “Run this for 20,000 miles and you’ll be able to see the dinosaurs re-forming in the sludge”.
Engines like clean oil - 1yr/10,000mi at a minimum is when you should change it. The oil filter obviously can only filter so much and the small bits pass through even when it’s absolutely clogged, but those small bits are still gonna be abrasive over time.
Also yearly/10k changes are a good way to check the health of your engine - examining oil for metallic bits or whether it smells of fuel etc
In the old days, “long life” engine oil was mainly a marketing gimmick in which conventional, “dinosaur” (petroleum out of the ground) oils were beefed up a better additive pack to last longer. In reality it was hard to beef up all aspects of the ...
General gist of the article is “yeah it might last longer but it isn’t that different from the regular stuff, so why take the risk”
I think EngineeringExplained’s video goes along the same lines
Well i'm at about 10k miles (16000km) / year and I change it anually
😉
My parents have been driving all their cars with only one service/oil change a year for their entire life, never had an issue (and they drive about the same as me)
I don't think dealerships will postpone an oil change to ruin your engine, that will only give the brand a bad name
Boss just brought himself a new BMW 320d Msport 👌
Looks nice
It's still a diesel

Diesels are ok in my books
Except for the DPF
Please tell me how I’m supposed to regenerate the DPF on a van while driving around inner London
Why is it that some manufacturers are able to make nice sounding diesels that don’t clatter and others are like “lmao dude just make it sound like someone’s hitting the top of the pistons with a hammer”
My A5 has a really rich purring sound at idle with no signs of clatter at all but my van, a 1.6 fiat, sounds like the rods are loose from the pistons and flailing around inside the crank case
The ones that sound like the rods are loose from the pistons and flailing around inside the crank case tend to be the engines that will run forever
What is your guys opinion on the mitsubishi 3000gt (twin turbo)
Bloody expensive 😛
About that oil, i kinda forget lol but i don't care, i'll probably get rid of this car in less than a year
WE can get 4000€ if we buy à car that fits conditions (gas emission rate) so if you buy a 8000€ car, they take back yours (again if it fits conditions) and give you up to 4k
Maybe i'll do that then, wait 6 monthes (the least to sell the car), and sell it for 7500k, then buy a good 96' / 98' vtec civic
And at the end it would have cost me only about 4k (for this example) 😎
(btw if i wanted to sell my car i could get maybe 1000€ xD)
2 most important things in a car, cruise control and cup holders
Won't daily drive a car without those

I've got no CC 😉
Just keeping it floored, does that count ? xD
I can retro fit it quite easy, but i'm too lazy
Just swapping the indicator stalk and setting a mark in the ECU using Op-com (Vaux-com)
My car has 7 cupholders, I don't know why. 1 in each door, 2 in the centre console just infront of the gear lever, so a large bottle won't work, 1 in the back of the centre console which I sacrificed for an armrest, and 1 in each rear panel
@warm sparrow Is it like some Vehicle scrappage scheme ?
Does it also apply on used cars ?
"it's long life oil"
It's also your engine so do whatever you want lol
I've never known any dealership or shop around me that recommends longer than 7500 miles
20k miles lmfao I can't even imagine the color it must be
@stoic ledge yes that's it and of course it does
But it bust be a car from at least 2010 maybe and there is gas emition limit
But you can get pretty decent cars like some with TDI 140
Maybe a little a3 ^^
Oh god, dieselgate TDI's
Here it was only valid on brand new cars, not used
And the program isn't active anymore
Everyone deletes diesels anyways... No point in emissions lol
But diesel is supposed to pollute too much...
Anyway if it can make me earn money i won't say no
We can’t DPF delete over here which is right fucking annoying
I’m not concerned about the power gain I just don’t want to have to replace the fucking thing when it inevitably blocks completely
Oeh yes clogged up DPF
Drive at the motorway at max rpm, it will be clean in no time 😉
Exactly
idk bout yall but id never push my oil past the regular service interval for full synthetic and i even like to change it 2k early since i am exclusivley buying used, so idk how kind the last owners have been to the things'
DEF and regen is worse than DPFs
2k is completely unnecessary lol unless you like autocross on the weekend
@hexed arrow you use cruse control daily?
@gilded heron its called doing 30 miles on the motorway daily
34.4, each way, daily, I don't use it.

maybe im a masochist, because if it wasn't for traffic i would also drive a stick.
im going to guess you are from the UK, so you probably have better drivers who can maintain a more consistent speed than the fucking asshats here in socal
@hexed arrow am i correct?
speed here vaires from 60 to 85 in the fast lane
although we have a lot of old people behind the wheel
and people will cut you off at 65 when you are moving toward the next person up at 85 ish.
bloody Susan returning from her bingo night slamming the brakes on a clear roundabout to check her gps
retired people should have mandatory driving license re-tests
or anyone who buys a bmw/merc/audi
drives a BMW
indicators are a thing use them
i actually just bought replacements for mine, because they fell out, and i didnt feel safe driving without them.
i guess there are exceptions to every rule
its a 2001 325i, the front ones had the clips break, and fell out.
by american standards, BMW makes good cars.
if maintained properly, they are more reliable than most american cars.
same with mercs
id just say modern American cars are trash quality
with the exception of Teslas, they are
yea, still a German car.
or any toyota/nissan
right, also not american
ford is 1/2 American right?
Ford is american
its about as American as American gets for car manufacturers
we can built Semis fine, because they are a commercial product.
anything consumer, its trash
i still don't get the Americans obsession with pickups
neither do i
or the urge to send their Ford mustang into a crowd of people
is the US government shutdown still on?
if you need a truck, you probably need more than an F150
and if you dont need a truck, cars get better mileage, and generally ride better.
yes, it is
31 days now.

in its 32nd
More == better ;)
tbf Brexit isn't any less of a clusterfuk
other exception to the BMW == trash driver rule, my brother.

the not an exception in the family is my dad, he drives like a fucking asshat
fits his merc just fine.
My brother has a BMW, can drive like a dick, but will always uses his indicators
i just refer to him as "lord of the rings" to annoy him
see, i can drive like a "dick"
thats because im late, and you are being slow (85, not 95)
otherwise, road is empty, and i find driving on a windy road quite fun.
i do drive like a dick in certain situations
last night over took 10 cars on a straight because the mongs couldnt over take a truck doing 40 on a 60 with ther jags, bmw, audi etc...
imagine having a sports car and not even being able to use it
may or may not have kept my engine over 3k RPM for that entire hill climb (probably like 15 minutes)
oh mother of god, people passing trucks is a fucking nightmare here
on my way to work there is a 2mile straight with perfect visibility
My engine is over 3000rpm the entire time when driving on the motorway
only 2 mile?
Defiantly haven't raced my dad on there
that 3k was going around a corner at 40 ish
after that was in the 5k range
got to 120mph on a 60mph road
yes, freedom units.
police plox
when im on the freeway (motorway for you) heading home, a good section is 2 lane.
semis are in the right lane, no problem, slow people stay there, until they are behind the semi
then these fuckwads get over, and dont speed up
mine tops at 130mph
so there is a giant backup of cars trying to pass a semi with a speed delta of like 3
i was doing 100 up the final highway hill on my way home
people who sit in the middle and right lane when the left is empty and do under the speed limit should be executed on the spot
wide open lowest gear, let all 189 bhp work.
@hexed arrow i'm happy when people sit in the right lane, and the left one is empty 😄
189bhp is only 106 more then i have
well, undertaking is legal in the US, sooooo
you can undertake in the uk as long as you aren't above the speed limit
@hexed arrow Idk about you but I use my pick up for ya know... pick up things
Pick up chicks 😏
And here in the US, the left lane is the fast lane 😉
Yeah, your mom's one heavy bitch very nice lady

Mk go pick up some girls from the McDonalds
I prefer KFC 😉
remember to check ID, dont want them

speed limit minimum*
FTFY
^^ i agree on that one
I second that agreement
I third that agreement

now, the real asshat drivers, are fucking RICErs
100% asshole concentration, no exceptions.
miatas aren't bad
no no , civics are fine,
vtecibois on the otherhand.
Not all the time
Lawnmower bois?
and prius.
technically not rice as its stock
can we agree that if you drive a prius, your license should be immediately and permanently revoked?
it looks faster than it is
I don't care, more gas for me

dorito
dorioto?
dorito engines.
5 doritos
plz
Whatchu got against a focus
the people that drive them
Oh so it's a Ford problem
What's wrong with Focus drivers
Lol the new GT isn't as good as the 05
You live in a weird country if that's true
The older ones, yes
welcome to the UK chav central
No one cares about any focus that isn't an ST anyways
More recent Focus drivers are fairly decent imho
because the chavs cant afford the new focuses
New Fiestas on the other hand...
So ST > RS ?
@hexed arrow true
considering that the 2017 GT is lighter and has more HP, besides the better design from it being a newer car, i would say its a better car
Same with Corsa's btw
New == decent, old == chavs
i think otherwise.
wtf is a chav
chav
/tʃav/Submit
nounINFORMAL•DEROGATORY
a young person of a type characterized by brash and loutish behaviour (usually with connotations of a low social status).
what is the problem with a v6?
this is better
It's missing 2 cylinders
MK going murican
how?
i've got a i4
i4*
Well I drive a GM car Lloyd 😉
V4s are a thing
its still got 647hp, i dont see how thats a problem
@hexed arrow some have a v3....
v4s exist, basically no car has one.
V3 or flat 3, dunno
Y3
those, close to exist
N3 ?
I have no problem with the engine in the new GT lol, nor the power it makes. It's great. It's just meh. Follows the rest of EU, which i guess is to be expected. Doesn't sound very good either, as normal with a V6
Did you see the next challenger will be hybrid ?
Does it ?
what is a hyundai coupe...
2.0 v4 = 141 bhp, 2.7 v6 = 165bhp
Tiburon Tuscani
Is there a model associated with this coupe
whats wrong with its sound?
It's just called Hyundai Coupe here
I want vtec honda
A V6? I don't like it, that's what's wrong with it
^ his coupe
^ that guy's coupe
what do you think if i6 engines then?
Most sound good. BMWs not so much
brb
i think my car sounds fine
its an NA inline 6 BMW
Civics with straight pipes make my ears bleed
anything with straight pipes will do that
They make everyone's bleed
including the drivers
My truck is technically straight piped
If you don't include the turbo
It's not that loud
If you have a turbo, that's the best you can do.
My car sounds good lol
Turbos are basically mufflers
When you consider how a muffler works, they are.
It makes psht psht from an injector?
^that coupe
Lol
Dis gut meme yis
Yes @shadow osprey , it's a diesel and i need to fix it but i'm too lazy
It's a Peugeot, maybe it will fix itself
Ah tiny diesel. It'll be fine
That's what i thought but it's been at least 3 monthes and it's still not fixed lol
R.I.P
Ride in peace, yeah
^
(seriously i have the parts but it's cold and i can't put my car in the garage so i don't wanna do it outside)
Yeah it's been damn cold here too
We're expecting snow
1-3 cm (0.5-1 inch) which will probably shut down the entire country
lmfaoo where?
NL?
I'm from America, you think I'm cultured enough to recognize a flag?
the only thing I know is 🇺🇸
Nah I just don't know anything about netherlands
New York (New Amsterdam) and shit xD
Aren't you guys like in the north?
We get 6 inches and everyone goers to work the next day
lol Cereal xD
And I'm not even in the north of the US
so people can't drive in NL?
Yeah you're way farther north than me
they always a have snow so...
Well they can't drive if there is more then 0.5mm of snow
i know that
So the width of one snow flake
even if there isn't snow on the road, just some bits on the sides, people drive like fuckin 89 yo lady
Tru
also: i always have winter tires lol
:boi:
(don't have room for another set of wheels and you better always have winter tires than no winter tires at all)
I was gonna buy a set of all terrains for my stock wheels but got poor, so I'm rocking summer tires lol
I disagree xD
Summer tyres alm the way
Why would I buy tyres which benefit me 3 days a year, but suck 362 days a year? xD
dude you haven't seen the road to go to my house
even with winter tires it's hard to climb when there is snow...
No i understand, but here it's not worth it
and my front tires are the same that were on the car when i had it more than 2 years ago and they are still good
all terrains can benefit you 365 days a year if you drive your car right 😉
for what car @shadow osprey ?
Any
All terain for a freaking Corsa
Yus
Buy another size... you don't need exact size tires. 235/45 and 245/45 are basically the same
195 lol you got some donuts
So 205/60 won't fit
Hey my parents 2003 Corsa had 175's xD
Lower trims of my Corsa have 185's
mine is 195
I would never drive a car with that skinny of a tire
Every corner I'd feel like I'm about to fly off
17" rims have 205 of 215, depending on the installed suspension
It's not that bad actually
Goes around corners quite well
I like em thicc
i know lol
Jk not really
Believe it or not, not all Americans like fat things, nor are they all fat
You'd be surprised
I like fat tires. That's about it
tbh
i know
i like fat tires too
but i don't have the budget for fat car with fat tires
and fat engine
in murica, everybody has big cars so..
i mean bigger cars than europe
not necessarily F150
Yeah you all drive cardboard boxes
Yeah but still, calling stuff like a Camry a commuter car which is bigger then 90% of the family cars around here
I can hardly fit in the back seat of a camry
Like you move the front seat all the way up and then I'm... not uncomfortable. I won't say comfortable though lol
It's really large for European standards lol
Just cause the car seems big doesn't make the back seat big
We had a Peugeot 307 as family car, which is about the size of a Golf Wagon
Or Alltrack or whatever version you've got over there
Man that is one ugly car
Golf or 307 ?
307
@warm sparrow kill him
You like that?
Lloyd owns a 307 xD
You like this?
It's literally a worse Honda fit
Somehow, I doubt that
That doesn't mean shit about it's looks lol
/shrug if it was ugly nobody would buy it
That's like saying a Toyota Sienna is the best selling minivan because it looks good
^^
As long as I don't have to drive it
i mean, it's not beautiful but it's pretty ok
I still thinks it looks ok
You seem more reasonable than MK
I mean it's a design from 2001
the face lifted 307 is worst but the original model is not bad
i mean, it's from 2001 so...
Beat you to it buddy 😛
🖕

eat this my friend
You know what else was from 2001? The E46 lol
not the same price...
E46 was only about €10k more
If it looks better ¯_(ツ)_/¯
even now, E46 is at least 5k more i'd say
idk any cheap euro brands since all US models are expensive there
@shadow osprey in europe when you don't really have much money, you don't take a car for how it looks
I'd rather buy a $1000 ranger than a $1000 civic
307's were quite spacious, well equipped, good driving and good engines, while looking good + not being too expensive
I'd still hold back on the looking good part
I don't remember anyone critisising the design
but I'll give you the rest since I don't know anything about it
i bought my car 1,5 K, it has 307k Km and it drives good
it's a noice car, it'spacious, interior is better than modern cars
it's comfortable
-_-
Sounds like a nightmare xD
you can put 2 fat guys easily at the back of a normal 307
5 seater waa fine
What are some comparably sized cars
Well there you go
but i think we don't have the same notion of "fat guy"
I'm 6'3" 150lbs. Er... 68kg or so. I'm not fat. I'm also not fitting in your rear seat
What else do you have over at your side
We have all of those except peugeot
6'3" ? I'm 6'4" 😛
No citroen or seat or anything like that
Yeah I know, i was thinhing of comparable cars you also have
no renault either
@shadow osprey wtf .. i had a friend who was probably about 120Kg at least and he fitted at the rear very well
I know the ones i've named are available (we call the Corolla different: Auris)
you can't really use the 3 rear places but 2, no problem
You can be 300lbs and only 5'2
3 works fine if you're not too fat
i know but i mean, 2 at the rear is fine, it's comfortable
Atleast in the Wagon
what is that, like 120kg and 1.6m
you don't have that much room for you legs but if you don't do 500Km journey it's ok
journez 👀
@stoic ledge works but it's not very comfy
Depends, it was fine for <100km trips

We used it for 3 when my brother was already > 18 years old and I was already over 1.80 (6ft) so not really "kids" sized
Anyway my parents now have a Meriva 😂
hm
Does have a slide backseats tho
It's probably bigger than the back of an extended cab truck. Oh man... that's just torture
Yeah I don't understand those
Useful for... my jacket lol
Well I actually almost never use the back seats
a) It's small (Fiesta sized)
b) It's a 3-door
Usually I throw my jacket in the trunk
But that's not really possible with a pickup
What trunk
... What is even the point of that
To be able to licence it as a commercial vehicle
VW designed the Amarok like stupid
Didn't pass our regulation as a commercial vehicle
Unless you put in this devider
Besides it having crap 2.0TDI's which break all the time
so no reaction about my "joke" ?
vw made a pick up lol
I looked it up
4 doors but no back seat
They actually made a long bed version just for the Netherlands
So they can have it licenced as a commercial vehicle while having rear seats
And when i mean they made a long bed version... I mean they build a normal version in Brazil, shit it to Belgium where they add about 20cm (8 inch) to the bed, and then ship them to here

logic
I know them, but that's about it
Here you can see the extended bit
It's just welded on
^^ @shadow osprey this is what I was talking about, 1cm of snow and the entire country is shut down 😛
1600km of traffic jams (1000 miles)
is 95% of NL's population over 75 yo?
Strangely enough, it's not

@17:44 it was 2303km apparently
Luckily for me I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow 😛
