Ah yes. I don't know much about soldering but I should have figured that out lol
A wagon with fans? something must be wrong here
no u
Melbourne has the best car scene in Australia
Those Skyline's
15 year old sex spec show car in perfect condition
Moog's S2000 from Mighty Car Mods a couple years back
just some of what Melbourne has to offer
Holy sh*t that are a lot of pics
@vital glen need bigger screen ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Because I can't post my Google photo album links
And I took these photos
Can't really share them besides individually uploading a bunch of the best pics
very nice pics 👌
^^ i agree
What are your guys initial thoughts about the new BMW 3 series?
Looks pretty gut
Looks like a facelifted 2018
Saw that picture before. But yeah, I'm a bit excited for it.
More so for the Supra than the Z4.
I'm happy that you can still get it with a straight six.
I just know, however. That people will be let-down by its performance. But the Supra was never about speed and performance. It was more about being a good GT car.
I hear more disappointment about it because people speculate it is a reshelled z4
3jz when
i don't really like how it looks...
i love old japanese style but now it doesn't look like japanes style anymore...
the only car that really looks japanese and is still produced is the R35
NSX is nice but looks like european supercar...
A new Nissan z is coming out soon isn't it?
Looks
but i don't like the front, it looks like a fckin micra
headlights are great, it reminds of the 370z
but i don't like the middle
the callender
I thought nothing could rival the Fiat Multipla, I was wrong
Those headlights and the side profile
The side profile isn't that bad but the front bumper and headlights ain't for me
The rear windows remind me of a hyundai i40 for some reason
i40 from Volvo ?
Did you mean Hyundai i40? Or Volvo V40 ?
the new supra looks like a mix between a hyundai and a lexus
this Z looks pretty nissan tho
the only problem i have with these new cars
is that they look like they will cost a fortune
is that they are new and old japanese cars are way better?
which i hope they don't
Nissan did make the new Nissan pretty Nissan
The supra was supposed to start at around £40,000 wasn't it?
Hm.. sounds fair
yea saw it now
and it's the same price as the old supra
So I can accept this price
for this price i would buy an good old supra
Hopefully the engine will be as tuneable as the 2JZ and N54
Buy a supra with the twin turbo 2jz
YES
i don't even have 15K £ nor 15k€
Things with these old cars
That's 50% over my current yearly wage
is that it's hard to find a stock one
I'll make do with this
Can't insure the v6, it's the 2.0, got my driving licence in September 2018
time travel intensifies
Crap I exposed myself
you know what they say, takes one to know one
Time to install the Google keyboard
Man, it's been so long since a new Z and GT-R came out.
So much better now
i wish i was born in the 80s
I was born in the 90s😎 November 99
😂
When you realise you are nearly closer to 30 years old than 10 years old
I'm 20 (+ 4 months) so i am closer to 30 then 10 😢
😢
me too xD
:feelsover20man:
Also, Supra will probably have €30k CO2 tax on it here, so it will be €70-80k
😢

yep and it will probably have a downgrade engine
Inline 6 still
But for £10,000 you can get a BMW M5 with a V10
In b4 Tundra V8
it's okay
like a "4 cylinders biospeed 1.4 350HP" 😂
@hexed arrow what M5?
E60? engine is poop in that one 😂
Reliability wise ofc
Sound is glorious
But it's a v10
Doug DeMuro: You should never buy a E60 M5
Next day
Tyler from Hoovies Garage: I've bought the cheapest E60 M5 in the USA
European supra will get a inline 2 0.6l 50bhp version to save on tax and fuel
Well, one should buy it they know how to do maintenance on it 😄
Since new engine costs a fortune
As much as the car itself
I won't be suprised if you would sell is with the 252hp 2.0T from BMW
Has anyone done a rotary swap on a smart car yet
I don't think so..
New supra featuring the BMW 1.8d engine
i want to die
Wasn't there someone who threw in a Busa engine into a Smart?
105hp
If they put a engine similar to the S54 engine in the supra
We can expect great things
World's most powerful and fastest smart car doing a burnout and donuts. Smart car with hayabusa turbo engine! brutal exhaust sound! Hayabusa Smart Car https:...

in europe there will be hybrid supra XD
I wouldn't mind a hybrid supra tbf, if they do it right it's gonna be hella fast
I remember that the some of the engine options leaked for the new Z4 and the Supra.
Yea I wouldn't mind a hybrid
Not with a CVT and an engine on the Attkinson cycle
Considering what kind of performance some hybrid cars have nowadays
The Z4 M40i has a 340 hp engine.
but the SOUND
But of course, Toyota has had time to improve their hybrid systems over the years
"Cheap" McLaren P1/Ferrari LaFerrari
the japanese engines art
So I guess the Supra will have somewhere along those lines
Porsche hybrids are
I will
😢
a supra can't be hybrid, it needs inline 6 twinturbos
Put a cvt with a sbc 350
With a cvt
NO
o/
CVT removes all the excitement from driving

I like how people are saying "But it needs TT inline six!", when only the most expensive one had that. More or less.
But nobody cares about base models
And I agree @vital glen
It's the base models that will sell the most.
It's those ones that will make the car worth it for Toyota and BMW to make the car in the first place.
Only the twin turbo supras are worth anything now
The naturally aspirated ones are worth around 40% sell last time I checked
Or then can be like Tesla, announce a cheap version but never sell it
Yeah
oh YES
I'd say because of money
They only made a new Supra because they can share the development money with BMW
If they had to build it on their own, they probably wouldn't have

Was looking at a 1998 Celica with a 1.8 engine but I brought the Hyundai
They look good with body kits
Was looking at a fast car but I bought the Corsa

They don't look good with body kits
I had a 2003 polo 1.4tdi for 9 months as a learner car
It look 💩 no matter what you did to it
A polished turd is still only a turd
Mechanically great, aesthetics
I learned to drive in a 2013 Clio (well, I already knew how to drive, but it's mandatory in the NL)
He never had an issue with it
The car my instructor thought me in was a remapped and lowered 2015 golf gtd
Used the polo with my dad before I brought lessons to save money
I just learned in my parents Peugeot
No not true, first a tractor
😛
New Holland T5050
💪

Parents are going on holiday in April for a month, going to insure my self on the Audi for a month
Noice
I'd rather have my Corsa then my parents Meriva
Meriva is faster
But mine is cheaper
😛
sweats definitely not the reason for me paying for the remap
£350 for 80+bhp
His Christmas present
For my Hyundai I would need to spend £800+ to get 30bhp
Cold air intake, full new exhaust and piggyback ECU remap
I probably won't bother and save the money for a faster car next year when my discounts go up
The V6 version is nice
I'll keep this one for 3 more years probably
2.0 TDI engines are reliable
Replace turbo for easy bhp gains (until piston start flying out the engine blocl)
If you replace everything unreliable in a car it will be reliable until it isn't @stoic ledge

oh yeah, cold air intakes, def going to net more horsies
The Hyundai coupe stock air intake is pretty shite, most owners install cold air intakes
What do you expect
i'm back
Although I'll make bigger and cheaper gains by switching cars
this s good stuff
It was the 1.5 dCi @warm sparrow
Somebody spent too much money on cosmetics
All within £2,000
Alloys £500, body kit £600, headlights £100, tinting £150, rest is the paint
Maybe £2,500
And alot of time, prices based on the parts I was looking at (with parts taken off being sold)
It would be nice if the performance could back up the looks 😦
Could have taken the the money on the wheels and body kit and done either a super or turbo
Engine isn't ready for a turbo, you would need to spend over £1000 to do a proper turbo setup
The 2.0 can take about 8 psi stock which would give you some decent power
Or take that 1100 and get a tune, after an intake, cat-back, and cam.
Would net you some decent gains
As someone over 30 spend the money on performance, believe me.
Don't be an early 2000s ricer
But it looks nice
Nothing sadder then a blinged out civic that can't beat a riding mower
If you want to go performance, sell the coupe get a Nissan 350z
Will cost the same as the turbo, intake, exhaust, remap and etc
3.5 V6, 0-100 5.9 sec and 276bhp
The Hyundai needs a piggyback ECU remap hence it being more expensive
The parts are simple you can install heads, cam, catch back, and intake.
True but that's the fun man.
why not for yourself? slap a snowmobile engine on there and it'd rip
^
^^
Short throw or long throw
Short
Forza Horizon4 btw
@fathom socket could have fooled me./s
Looks good 👌
But FH4 is a good looking game @fathom socket
Thanks, I have some other photos I can share later
FH4 does look good, it could be better with a better gpu though
Hi want a racing game where you can race the ultimate performance car
A Z34 Lumia Carlo
@gray fox I hope you like your pancakes with sand
It's got corvette derived suspension
😂
Take that on the top gear test track
Give that 3.4 a work out..cause gm wouldn't put the 3.8 SC in it
I bet somewhere their is a sales brochure that says just that. Since it is using a transverse leaf spring in the rear
This is a McLaren for real men
Neighbor had one
Naisu
Honestly the W-body didn't get ok till the second gen
First gen were flabby and under powered
McLaren dis nothing under the hood
Unlike the GNX
Oof
@fathom socket that at least means they are simple to keep working mechanically
ah ok
It's just a GM 3100 V6 with a turbo
It makes 205 at the crank
Another McLaren this time a Fox body Capri
They also did a mustang version
It begins.
First production model
I think it was ~60k
however there's gonna be an inline 4 option that's probably cheaper
I'm just confused why toyota didnt make their own engine for their halo car
You don't need to make a super cheap Supra since they have the 86
Cause Toyota doesn't know how to be fun anymore
lol, kind of true
Toyota died when the MR2 did, imo
Was gonna say the Celica but that was about the same time
The 86 was a nice step but it is mainly a Scooby
And I wish Subaru would have more fun with it but I think Subaru is loosing there fun streak as well
I mean they still have some fun cars
When they stopped offering the Spec B WRX they died a bit
I mean who wouldn't want a standard looking WRX that has all the STI goodness but is grown-up and has a day job that actually pays real money
in a way BMW is starting to die, moving more towards luxury though they still have some models that are fun
BMW is being like most of the German "performance" cars
Cram as much useless under engineered tech in a car and then wait for it to break so you can try and sell them the new model
I'm looking at you VW
lol
Also Mercedes
They should have been left to die in 98 instead of leaching off Chrysler
But they survive so they can try and sell a 40K mini van that is less equipped then a Chrysler Town and Country from 1998
we LOVE the 2020 GLE
and i get the GLC63S in 3 weeks as well and the new G Wagon
MB totally reinvented itself and is killing it
Their new MBUX infotainment system is pretty nice, using AR for navigation
GLE doesn't sell here, just 2 cars sold last month
Actually I'm suprised they don't sell the A-class in the States, I think it would sell
Won't they start selling it? I thought they would.
Yeah I think they are gonna sell the A-Class sedan
Not the hatchback tho
A-Class has been around since 1997/1998 ? So 20 years 😛
Hehe the base engine in the USA is the A220 (188hp), we've got a A160 with 109hp
Welcome to the US

@magic arrow who is we?
Isn't the A class basically just a CLA..?
Idk
At least the one for NA. But IDK
But then again. It's the same with the Audi A3.
RS3 should only come as a hatchback.
It's nice to know that you guys at least get the Hyundai Veloster N.
(i30 N looks better, though)
The Hyundai is a solid little car.
And they have pretty nice warranty, that I know of.
What's Veloster's competition anyways?
Golf GTI, Focus ST?
CLA was the 4 door coupe version of the A class
i30N competition is Golf GTI, Megane RS, Focus ST... so yeah, Veloster N has the same
Civic Type R would be on the high end.
Hyundai should just bring back the Tiburon as a RWD competitor to the Type 86.
They could even just tweak the original GKs styling to make it a bit more modern
Yeah it was fine, but the Genesis Coupé was better in basically every way
Except for the obvious, price
@shadow osprey well the Genesis coupe should have given the price
But Hyundai could take a big bit out of the type 86 market with a RWD GK. I miss when you could have affordable performance since they didn't try and pack them full of tech no one wants.
I don't get why cars need to have all the climate, radio, and seat controls in a giant touch screen that makes everything more complicated and has more features then the 4 anyone uses.
Just give me simple dedicated controls
You hear the GM no one wants your worthless in car wifi
@gray fox I do
I want to pay for an unlimited data hotspot
Untop of my own data plan
There is a Genesis Coupe for sale at the nearest Ford Dealer
If any of yall are in missouri and want a MK1 MR2

Some guy just traded in 5 for a new MX-5
That's a down grade
Yeah i've read about that guy
If he doesn't have the space/time/energy/... Anymore... Why not
At least he got a MX5 and no boring Corolla
all the same to me
@vital glen me and Andie?
Andie and I*
ayy looking for an opinion on smth in my car
dealership i took it to for service claims the drive belt is about to go out, then after keeping the car for a day they tell me they couldn't do any work on it and it'll be fine for it road trip tomorrow
that's the offending belt
how bad is it
Replace that shit now
I can't believe a dealer would.let that leave
That's some lazy shit
It's shinny as hell and looks like it's cracking
Also that looks like a real bitch to change...is it German?
But I'm spoiled with my wife's KJ Liberty
And my Magnum R/T
Gotta love RWD
@gray fox nop, nissan rogue
That's sad the Japanese use to be good about ease of service
"Japanese" with influences from Renault
Forgot about that
i've got a lot that needs to get done on that car rip
need new inner and outer tie rod ends, new control arms, oil cooler leak, they said smth about a ball joint being worn, and then the belt replacement
And yet they didn't even do the belt
yeah i was hoping they'd at least do that when i took it into the shop yesterday since they kept the car until today
but they didn't do a single thing just bc their alignment rack wasn't working
and ive got a 7hr trip tomorrow
Don't go back to that dealer. Go to an auto parts store (you in North America?) And get a cheap breaker bar
And change the belt yourself
Belt should be like 15
at this point i wish i would've kept my 2001 prius, would've been cheaper to pay the $5500 to replace the high voltage battery than to buy a $7500 used car, get new brake pads, get new tires, and then get all this shit fixed
True
but i like my heated seats and cruise control
so im just gonna shell out to fix this
Nissan Rogue for $7500 is cheap, no ?
(At least here they are much more expensive)
Honestly I would have said stay away from any Nissan that isn't a Altima, Maxima, or 350/370
yeah it was 150k miles and their top level trim
and they gave me $1500 trade-in on my prius
and fixed the broken front strut for free
Should have sold the Prius
Would have gotten double
But I get the need to just get a new car
yep
150k miles is quite a lot imho
partially my fault for killing the prius tbh
2012 or so ?
Go to Advanced/O'Riley/Auto Zone and get a belt and a cheap breaker bar for the tensioner
Don't wait for my to snap tomorrow and have to wait for road side and pay for then to tow it to a shop and pay for.them to swap it
Would have gone Kia in that situation
it was back in may that i got this car
and i didnt know about everything wrong with it aside from the front strut, but the place i bought the car from fixed that for me for free
yea these people were p good to us tbh
kinda my fault for falling in love w the rogue on the spot and not really looking too much into the optima lol
i told myself i wasnt gonna get a big car bc i was used to my tiny lil prius
and then i sat in the drivers seat of the top-level trim rogue
and it was like oh baby
i want this car
Pretty sure after it's all sorted, it will be a nice and reliable car (:
Yeah it also depends on how the previous owner(s) used it
Same here
I got my car from the first private owner, and it shows
It's "mint" (beside a small scrape on the front, but that can happen. You don't see it)
my dad gave me his prius as a graduation gift, he'd bought himself a new avalon and gave me his prius
People often think it's new
Nice
Noice
and then its starter battery died and i had to jump start it one too many times

1st
That's some feelsbadman
yeah

i cried a lot at the dealership when they broke the news to me
i grew up in that car man
You can also repair some cells of it, no ?
40 mpg, need to translate that to eu standards
Specialists can
uhhh google says 17 km/l
40 Mpg == 1:17
o oke
Not that amazing tho
compared to my current car it is
Hehe yeah syre
i go on a lot of rly long drives when i do drive
Sure*
like 7 to 9 hours
my current car gets like 24 to 26mpg on a good tank from a good gas station lol
😮
I get 30MPG with my little Corsa, but that's on LPG so (: (:
9l/100km isn't that bad for the size/engine of that Rogue
Why didn't you get a Prius 3 then? They don't look bad, often with cc and heated seats, and easy 47 MPG 😛
(don't know what used car prices are in the states)

yea
i mean they had hybrids on the used lot
but they were like, 2008 or 2010 hybrids
and there's no easy way to know when the high voltage pack was last replaced
and those things only last 8 to 10 years
so maybe i wouldve bought another hybrid and just been in the same boat again after a year or two
tru
@stoic ledge cvts could be worse, the belt could slip everytime
But even working properly, i don't like them
They sold the CR-Z manual here
Was slow
And really small
Like it made the OG CR-X look huge
@stoic ledge yeah, it could not accelerate at all
It was a good idea with bad implementation
It was kind of a pig given its size
I think it was over 3K
Unladen 2600-2700
Which for a small two door is pretty damn heavy
Hybrids are heavier, quite normal
1210kg... Mine is 1060kg
So 150kg for batteries, elekro motor, and 8cm longer (3 inches)
😛
Honda could have done better. Make it a little bigger and give it a decent engine
Like it's like 7 inches shorter then a FRS weights about the same (which says quite a bit about the frame/86) but has 200 hp
Yeah I know, but it also had to be eco friendly and sht
So eco friendly and high power is kinda difficult
Not if it's a hybrid. I remember the big thing was it had different settings. It had an eco mode that used the engine to charge and was mainly electric. A mix mode and a performance mode
They just missed the mark
Was a decent looking car though
I don't like the hybrid model
They don't make cars for us anymore
Well not for much longer
2020 is the end of the LX
So no more Mopar V8 sedan fun
GM just makes V8s for trucks and "halo" cars
And Ford just shoves and 8 in the Mustang and charges 40k for it and smiles and goes "The eco boost is in the 20s"
Look
Ford will soon leave the 5.0
@gray fox soon you too will be driving the eco boost v6
Nope when my 2005 Magnum RT can no longer move. I'm buying a used Dodge Charger RT
Blasting Smoke On The Water while I do so
@gray fox Are you looking to buy a 6.2L hemi swapped 2009 Wrangler?
I will take some pictures tommorow when I have daylight
R2 3 1 5
6 4 2 R1

@gray fox a base 5.0 is like 35k, but that's just on the website. You can probably walk out with a much lower price at a dealer
@vital glen They might be leaving the 5.0 in the mustang for something better, but I'd be surprised if it leaves the trucks also, unless they swap both vehicles out for a new motor. Though I don't think they will. The coyote is only 7 years old. All of the other engines were used for much longer. The pushrod 5.0 was used from 67-95 (in the mustang, more in other cars (excluding that break in the early 80s with the shit 4.2L V8)), the modulr 4.6 was used from 96-2010 (again, more in other cars), so I wouldn't be surprised if it sticks around for another 5 years or so
Dodge has been using the 5.7 since... like ever. Same with chevy
No reason to think Ford would be any different
Oh, and technically the coyote is a mod motor also, which is the same family as the 4.6
@shadow osprey I am memeing what they did to the raptor on the mustang
Ford also used the 4.0l inline 6 forever too. I get why too. Rock solid.
@shadow osprey thought it was 40K but you right. Doubt you would get one for much less then the sticker though. Dealers don't make too many deals on cars that are actually selling. And since the stang and the GT are the only "cars" ford is keeping I guess it sells well enough
My main issue is that they are killing blue collar performance. Yea the Mustang is cool but the average working guy isn't gonna be able to snag it cause he needs a car with a usable back seat and a big trunk. That's where the Taurus came in, full size sedan practicality but you.coukd get the SHO pack and now you have a beast that can eat mustangs and Challengers and still get the kids to school on time.
But the average Joe's seems fine with a Ford focus on stilts with a engine that makes some vauge turbo grumbles in the name of performance
Bling bling 3.5HO
😮
never checked that @stoic ledge

Ah....
Only in the US...

For the IS300 at least
GS300 dunno
@wheat hatch and even then you'll be hard pressed to find one
It's a Lexus bought mainly by old people
Which is great, since that would mean they are most likely untuned

But it's a distant dream

@wheat hatch you can import one (:
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/739229222/overview/
this isn't full version, this is 85% quality, 100% is too big of a file. Edited with Adobe Photoshop Express. Original Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T6. Maybe rate 1-10?
@stoic ledge 😮
Looks good but isn't is too "blue" on the left ? (Don't know much 'bout photos so maybe i'm the right guy to ask)
the original image was different with less blue, but I kind of wanted to make it less of the white, the blue is more of like the shadows
the whole car was white in the beginning, this is the original image I think
🤔 Wierd, but ok 😛
me likey
easier to modify photo if it's flat
too many shadows already
is this cell phone pic?
still to many shadows, what was it shot on?
Canon EOS Rebel T6.
yep
ohh
That does not export in raw?
ye
ah!! ok
the 18-55?
we were playing around with the T6i when we were shooting the Q60S Red Sport
I think
Canon's color sensors always blow everything too vibrant
i like Sony sensors for Photos
That photo makes my eyes water, oddly blurry
need to play around with the settings, did you try any of the scene modes?
@vital glen these are downrated on IG
ok
I don't remember which mode thaat was on

that description is so old lmao

Thanks!, subbed to you as well
bbl!
videos are very well made
we upload 2019 Countryman Hybrid this Fri
then 2019 Subaru Ascent
then 2019 Levante S
I assume you're renting/leasing or something?
oh nice
we'll talk later need to get dinner or husband gets hangry
Oof
my fault i should've cooked lol
Lol
@gray fox cash talks
@shadow osprey yes it does but having 6 people lined up to pay sticker talks more
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Just found out my nephew rented this car when he was in the States (Oregon I believe) and... He totaled it 😂
Classic Mustang
For some reason he hasn't posted a pic of it wrapped around the tree, only a pic of him showing off 🤔
Lol, are they okay?
Yeah he's fine
don't try to fck with a V8 when you don't know it
Well he owns a V70 R, 850 T-5 and 480 Turbo, but they don't have a V8 and none of them have RWD
good old volvos ^^
Apperantly he sold his 850, found it on a used car site:
https://prod.pictures.autoscout24.net/listing-images/60ae4178-9810-d521-e053-e350040a3efd_ca25a6bc-a4d4-4242-bcb3-ee0d173c69bd.jpg/1280x960.jpg
(wasn't the R, my bad)
ehhh......... he put a ferrari-like logo on the side -_-
lol, +7 horsepower
It's the Prancing Moose
A lot of (mostly older) Volvo owners have a prancing moose on their car
After seeing a Volvo-produced sticker on an XC90 show car — “a cartoon-like standing moose profile” — Dave got the idea to ape Ferrari by drawing the moose rearing up. Now he sells the stickers to Volvo — and recently other makes like Saab — owners all over the world. And the rest is history.
except Saab is dead
lol
@stoic ledge I don't understand anything less than a v8
Drifting Mazda-RX7 by Mad Mike, looks like scenes from Need for Speed :) not bad mike -------- Music by : AWOLNATION Song : Sail
And you tell me that i have cliche about americans -_-
but civic type r looks like shit
i don't like renault but between these two i prefer the look of the megan rs
even if i love japanese cars
Civic has its own distinct style the Renault looks similar to all other hatchbacks
I like it's look with the rally pack
japanese style is almost dead these days, only a few cars are still true japanese cars
yea i'm talking about good old "sport" japanese cars
lancers, nissan 2XX s1X, mazda RX, supra, S2000, integra, 3X0 Z, etc
now there are just GTR, GT86 (and the 2 others) - that aren't sport cars btw-, MX5, NSX
and civic type R but meh
oh and impreza of course
even if the old ones look much better and much more subaru than the last gen of impreza
Mégane RS looks good, hate the EDC transmission. Luckily they sell the Cup version with a manual too.
The EDC transmission is the biggest reason why I don't like the Clio RS
Too bad almost all hot-hatchbacks are 5-doors now
@vital glen Volvo had a pretty baller V8
Yamaha had a pretty baller V8
Well yeah
Though to be true it was really a Yammy/ford since they owned Volvo
At the time. Honestly Ford should have pulled that out of mothballs for the new MKZ sports sedan.
Instead of just making it a tarted up SHO
@gray fox suicide door continental that's what u
The conti would be better if it had a 12
They look pretty cool, but my parents Meriva have them too...
Cause if you wanted it to rival a Bentley then you need more then a Taurus motor
And yes, it needs a bigger engine, I agree
3.0 V6 Bi-Turbo, 400hp ? Not bad but... should be more
Could have just made a 6.0 bi turbo V12. But Ford just decided making cars is too hard so they are gonna focus on cookie cutter crossovers
But they just released a new Fiesta
And a new Focus
Which both will not be sold in America
(:
It's cause Europe isnt in love with crossovers yet
Also it strange that Chrysler was the smart one when it came to the ultra luxury market
They where going to re launch the imperial after the LX platform launched and take two 5.7's to make a 11.5L V16
But decided that cost for such a low volume car wouldn't be worth it at that time.
Ford spent big on the conti for it to last what 2 years
@stoic ledge It is pretty. I'm sure they would have tweaked it. Wasn't suppose to come out until like 2008/9
Honestly I bet it was down to dailmer not wanting an in house "rival" to maybach
Probably
the continental is pretty cool though, practical in my opinion
They hated the LX (300C) for stealing "potential" W class sales and blame the A class failure on it
Not like the A class was shit or anything
Don't really understand why they made the Continental FWD (optional AWD)
@stoic ledge cause they used the Taurus chassis
Unacceptable for a luxury car imho
They spent money but cut corners to save some, you know what you should do on a Bentley/Rolls
rival
the continental is comfortable though, quite practical too
It's also quite dead
12k units sold last year in the US, 10k in China
Again the could use the Taurus chassis if they would have made more efforts to not make it look like a stretched and dressed up SHO. They did that visually but under the skin it's a long wheel base SHO
A 100k car shouldn't have a 3 liter V6 no matter how many turbos it has
The coach door edition is a stretched streched SHO 😛
At that price I expect a 12 if not a 16
you know the lexus lx 570, I think that's the name, naturally aspirated v6 I think, over 100k
That's still unacceptable
then there's a toyota variant, same specs but like 10k cheaper, still around 100k tho
Ford should strive to not be Toyota cause in that market no one is worrying about mileage
The conti could have gotten 10 MPG with a massive TT V12 and the super rich would have still bought it
Just slam 2 3.0 EcoBoost engine together to create a 6.0 W12
Just like VW did 15 years ago
Or 2 3.7N/A engines to create an old-school 7.4l (452ci) block 💪
@gray fox who needs a w12 when you can have a big old v8
or a w16
W16 is kinda overkill xD

not sure
