@brave totem 1999-2010 Chevrolet/GMC 1500. Make sure it has one of the V8 'LS-Series' engines (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) . Since they used those engines in everything from trucks and SUVs to Vans and Corvettes... you can get a full engine from the junkyard for <$1000(i bought a 5.3L for my CUM3r0, $550 delivered to my shop)
basically any LS-based truck/SUV is a good bet..
the 4l60e trans are a bit.... weak. So i'd pay the extra money and find a 6.0L/4L80E transmission truck.. Those things are pretty much bulletproof.

So. Lately I've noticed when making tight turns, (wheel all the way in one direction) something screeches. I have power steering fluid. Any ideas of what could cause this?
It's a 2013 Dodge Avenger, so front wheel drive. It's not my brakes, I'm not braking during said turns and they're relatively new anyways. Once I straighten out the wheel it stops.

Doesn't work that way. The Prius hybrid system is complicated, if I were to transplant it into another chassis I'd have to jump through all kinds of hurdles and I'd still be stuck with a CVT and the stock ECU

Yes it is. In a diesel you will always burn fuel, even if its slightly more efficient at it. A hybrid will not always burn fuel due to the electric motor, this gives them an advantage. I won't buy a bike because I don't like them, looks or feel. Even less practical than a sports car. Not to mention they are far more dangerous in an accident. Also, hybrids are not any more prone to failure than any other system. It may have been true back in the early Prius days, but by 09 they are really good. I've talked to Toyota mechanics that have no idea how a Prius works because no one has ever brought one in for engine problems

From what I've seen compression allows an engine to make more power from less fuel. And timing does reduce knock, but more advanced timing allows the engine to fire more accurately therefore minimizing wasted energy

Turbo engines can be just as inefficient as n/a engines of much larger size, depending on how you drive them and how much boost they run π (Refference: an Evo 9 with 1000hp can drink fuel just as quickly as a blown big block v8)
They tend to have flatter torque curves that start sooner, meaning you don't have to rev as high to produce the same amount of accelerative effort as with an n/a engine that's larger. Usually, it's by going to higher revs that you end up using more fuel. Ergo, the way you drive it determines how efficient it is. TL;DR Instead of going broooooooooooooom, if you drive hard it goes BROAAAAAAAAAAAAA sutututututu, and that makes the car thirsty.

I don't think that you're supposed to accelerate that much with small engines with small turbos. I would say that they are meant to get you up to speed, and then the use the efficientcy of the small displacement to keep your current speed.
But then again. Driving like that can apply to any engine.
