How expensive to fix?
~$100 in parts
I missed out on a $650 running/driving 89 CRX
i sold the g35 for 14,000 and got a 1994 bmw m3
makes a whopping 210hp and 193 lb-ft
Does anyone like the Miata not the newer ones, Iβm talking 1st gen Miata
@peak tapir I have an NA8, so yes
heading to the race track.
so close to matching colours
actually they do match pretty well. bad photo
yeah but it's not perfect and that's just annoying
Should I try to import a European m3 into the us?
Why tho
adventures of the 2cyl SJ
started it up this morning, started fine, but struggled to move under it's own power to get out of the shed
pulled the spark plugs, the 2 in the middle were very sooty so I wiped them a little, shoved them back in, reseated the leads. checked the distributer, it was clean inside. started it back up, let it get to temperature and gave it a partial italian tune up and it's running smoother than it ever was before
even while it was warm it was idling high, so I'm thinking that the carb needs adjustment. Tried to find the idle screw, found one that affected the amount of throttle/choke at idle, tried to adjust that but it didn't do much
did make it idle lower but only when you pushed the throttle back. It's sticking somewhere and not going all the way to the bottom so when you put your foot down it doesn't get back to fully off and the lower speed idle. So that screw hasn't done much for us.
Think the carb needs cleaned up and set properly.
with that much soot I'd imagine that it had lost over half of it's 40 horses, probably better now, but not done yet
the heater is still bangin' and it worked great towing a trailer full of fencing materials
all is well
TL:DR: Running rich, too much soot everywhere, needed italian tune up. Also carb adjustment. Sems to be running on all 4 cylinders now.
@fringe quest nice car dude!
thank you
Thoughts on the Wrangler JL? I'm jazzed that the manual transmission is still around, but I'm a bit upset that it's not going to be available for the 4 cylinder turbo.
It's a chrysler.......................................
that to (also works with site above)
All hAIL Land Rover Defender
It's a Fiat now tho...
oof
How come lane discipline is so terrible in USA?
cause the US is fucked
I want to say that it's because having a car and a lisence in USA is seen more as a right, and not a privilege.
and in aus you cant even put your arm on the window even if it relives stress on a shoulder injury
cause thats 'dangouros to other users' when its not even near the mirror
You know how there are many sports cars that have near-unusable extra seats?
Why?
for sex
she can give u a BJ more easilly ad there is nothing in front of you when you do her in
sounds practical
@civic spoke @dire fiber ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Guys, does anybody know where to get part supply for wankel engine? Asia in particular.
Maybe Japan?
id say the only place you can get this is from mazda dealers or shops, no other company is really using that engine anymore
depending on what you need a junk yard may be your best bet
mazda aren't the only people that have developed a wankel engine
No but the only ones that used it in any number worth talking about within the last decade. Otto engines are dominante since a while because it's simply better.
@halcyon hornet I've asked the nearest Mazda dealer, they said they hadn't got any. I've gone to many junk yards and most of them only stored otto engines.
Car being stupid again. I start it, and the check engine light is on, brake is too stiff to move and gas just goes to the floor without moving the car. Turn it off and on and everything works. What is this ugh
Mine was CEL because of the O2 sensor, got frustrated and now I go catless
lol
Also my engine keeps on letting me down π¦ oh well I gotta face it
RX-8 π
Ooh
I want to swap it, maybe 13B-REW but not for now, until the engine goes out again
Or 1JZ/SR20DET
2JZ too expensive here π© and hard to find
ahh rip
13B is so cheap but yeah hard to maintain thus I might get a blown engine
my dad's old GS would've supported the 1jz
I've seen it on a form somewhere
I was going to get it as a gift but the main fuel line was cracked
so it was a basically a ticking time bomb
so he ended up selling it and getting an Audi q7
Comfy at least
We follow the advice of a Honda forum with a performance oil overfill... then see how long our Toyota lasts with no oil at all. Shop: http://www.mightycarmod...
what do you guys think about an 500hp 1997 ford ka? im planning to slap a turbo in one
I doubt that you are going to make that much power with a ka engine
probly will blow the engine
might only make about 100 or so with how small the engine is
for scale aswell my ford laser with the same engine space makes 65hp
and its 1989 year model
yea def only about 100 hp if not less
@proper arrow To put things into perspective. Even the 2001 Rally Ka only had 93 hp. So anything above 100 hp would be pretty dang good in the car.
Any of you that have seen this video? Thoughts about it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5aIcdutF2s
It would be all-too easy to introduce Fordβs new Β£450,000 supercar with endless references to yesteryear β because we all know where the story for the Ford G...
So I don't know much about cars, I want to swap the v4 engine out of my 2013 Dodge avenger. Can any engine go in, or do I need to look for specifics?
wait... v4????????????????
Yeah I wanna put something more powerful in
Like a v6 or maybe v8 but that's stretching it
very few v4's exist in the world It's most likely an I4 or straight-4
I have no clue lol then, I said I don't know much about cars xD
What's the difference
Ohhh
So it's probably an i4? All I know is it's 4 cylinder. And after driving multiple v8 cars and SUVs I can't stand not having the power
I mean, 4 cylinders can be pretty powerful
but yeah, v6's are pretty nice
'specially turbo ones
How does an engine swap work lol, can you just throw in any engine or is there stuff I need to learn
There has to be room
and there's generally a large amount of machining to make adapters and stuff
It's really weird. My avenger. 4 cylinder, has a shock bar. But my dad's Camaro. V8, doesn't. His needs one aloooot more than mine
lol
@tropic zodiac Doing an engine swap can be complicated. As there can be issues with fitmet, and actual parts used. All of them aren't always the same. It's normally just cheaper to sell the current car to get a more powerful one.
Good to know
why do fuel efficient powerful cars have to be so expensive...
what cars are you talking about
Audi S models
Golf GTI
everything that is fuel efficient but has power
even used they dont get very cheap
you can get a mustang or old V8/V10 BMW/Audi for dirt cheap prices
but it all eats fuel without limits
To get power and save fuel is actually hard π
Yeet
lets be clear here: the amount of power that an engine makes is based on the amount of fuel that it can burn
want more power? burn more fuel
ORRR........ add an electric motor
OR.... burn less fuel more efficiently to achieve the same amount of power with less fuel
your first point is fine, but for your second point, manufacturers do that as much as possible anyway
unless you're subaru with the STi
what's wrong with the sti?
They haven't change the engine since it first came out and it still gets 14Mpg
it's old technology with a turbo
the 3.0 legacy we have does 30 outside town
14 would be town which isn't too bad
Ye, so not ALL manufacturers are attempting to make their cars more efficient
but yeah... hybrid systems seem to be the best besides full-electric
hybrids are fine, but range extenders are better
OwO... don't most hybrids already do that?
with hybrids, the engine is mechanically connected to the wheels, with range extenders, the engine only charges the battery and is not mechanically connected
with hybrids, you need more clutches and linkages and stuff and controlling all the stuff that's mechanically connected to the engine and the road, and that's more rotating mass
with range extenders, the engine can also run at peak efficiency all the time so you can get the most out of your fuel
Ahh i see. I just know my rav4 hybrid has a sort-of range-extending mode
And then you have full electric cars. which can go 0-60 in 1.9 seconds...
also, the engines don't have to be as big as they only need the produce the average power that the car needs, not what it needs at peak, which helps efficiency
full electric cars are good but a lot of places don't have the infrastructure to support them
yeah, they're really good on the coasts and big cities
in 5-10 years though, it should be alot more economically and logistically practical
also, even with a coal powered grid, electric cars really help the air quality in cities, as the pollutant producing stage of the energy conversion is happening outside of the cities, so china is doing a big push for electric cars, despite it not actually having any lower emissions overall
Yeah... we'll see.
It's gonna be interesting watching a majour automotive revolution first-hand
it's going to take a massive step forward in battery technology for electric cars to become viable here in rural scotland, but until then, range extenders will do fine
where are you?
electric pickups will surface eventually
Yeah... Im both surprised but not confused as to why Tesla debuted a Semi before a pickup
the tesla semi is targeting a very specific use case
one that works for a battery powered vehicle that allows it plenty of time to recharge
Yeah... It also allows tesla to cater to a commercial audience, which can be easier in some cases, while researching an electric pickup
Although, the charging infrastructure will need to expand to more rural areas before the pickup could be feesible
that's a good point
the semis are going to be used for short runs in cities, while a large chunk of the pickup market is rural
and... battery capacity needs to improve, so that weight can go down
What I honestly don't understand is the development of some of these hybrids - I was reading about a BMW X5 or X6 Hybrid weighing 5 Tonnes. How can this be remotely efficient?
Battery power has alot of torque, so weight isn't too much of issue. In fact, more weight can be more benficial as that can mean more "downforce" on the road leading to more tractionm, and a more efficient "putting-down" of the power
Fundamentally speaking, the extra weight that these provide surely outweigh the benefits of better traction. All that wasted energy lugging around a diesel engine as well as a great amount of EV hardware for in real terms little enviromental benefit. At least (in the UK) we are slowly pushing away from diesel again.
@dire fiber yea its obvious you need to burn more fuel to get more power but there is a huge difference if you got a car like a Golf GTI which you can drive very efficiently in normal traffic but it also has the power if you want to drive faster like 220km/h or more and than there are old Audi V10 cars that have power but you will never ever be able to drive them with a low fuel consumption.
@restive zinc no BMW is ever gonna wight more than 3.5 metric tons as this would mean nobody in europe is alowed to drive them without a license for a semi
he means imperial tons i believe. Not tonnes
that would be even heavier
no, it would be light if he meant imperial
the imperial ton is 1016kg
Long ton, also known as the imperial ton or displacement ton, is the name for the unit called the "ton" in the avoirdupois or Imperial system of measurements. It was standardised in the thirteenth century and is used in the United Kingdom and sev...
5000lbs is 2.26 metric tons
y but he didnt say lb he said tons
that would be freaking heavy for any car
the US really needs to get its shit together and use the meteic system like the pledged to do
@halcyon hornet How fuel efficient a car depends on what you compare it to. I managed to go about 770 km on ~60 liters in my E46 320i
Which is what? 0.8 liters per 10 km?
Or closer to 30 US mpg
lol
im pretty sure ill be able to get at max 300hp out of the ford ka engine, ill atleast get some new pistons
Everyone can believe
lol
ive been able to get 180hp out of an CB300f engine
quad turbo? no, thats insane
just single turbo
@proper arrow I'll trust you when I see it personally. A Ford Ka engine was never made to put out 300 hp. Same story with the BC300f.
Honestly don't know how you can get over x5 times the the output from a 300cc engine.
you will blow the engine block and many other parts not designed to handle boost
of course it is its a jeep

@heady ridge lemoneep
its why i like my ford laser it may have 1 cylinder left but it still bloody runs
@civic spoke yea thats something i would call efficient id like something like a friends Gold GTI, can drive it with like 8l/100km easily in everyday live but also has 380hp available if he wants to use it. ofc it will then use like 14-18l/100km but thats what you get for full power runs
Basically have to get a newer car with some kind of a turbo 4-cylinder.
But in the end, it's more about how you drive it. I only get 0.8 l/10km when I'm driving gentle. It's pretty dang easy to go well above 1.0 l/10km
yea but that how you drive is only really relevant on newer cars like you say 4 cylinder turbos
the old V8 or V10 engine just always eat the fuel like candy no matter if you drive fast or not
but still nice cars to have if you can afford the maintenance and taxes
anyone here know why a turbo would be squealing when its towing a trailer?
anyone know why a car would screech when braking? i know the brake pads arent worn
Perhaps the tires dragging against the ground because you brake too hard?
And the turbo could be over-revving but I'm most likely wrong
the dealership just said it was fine but it gets annoying after a while
dad says its alright but iut could be stock brakes
Could just be a small rock stuck in the dust shield.
Though, that would make noise all the time.
So forget what I said.
97 integra h22a swap (japan edition)
holy crap it snowed over here and now theres 4 wrecks within a mile
actually more like 1/4 mile
Nice, I love le honda integra @sour blade
What's a nice used sports car I could get for 12,000
I've seen used Porsches and a Honda S2000
if you see used porsches for 12k you can expect to put in another 10k to make them usable for sure
Hmm
Rip lol
i think it was the Genesis
which you can get with a 2.0 turbo or a 3.6 none turbo i think
do you want a real sporty car or just something that has power and is fast?
k because some peopel would also consider something like a Gold GTI or R but theyre just fast but not really sporty
just asking cause its a big issue for me, are you even small enough to fit into sporty cars?`
because if you are tall you can forget it kind of
I actually like the gti lmao
And ye I'm small enough
The new gti r is 39k tho
I googled it earlier roday
yea for 12k you are not looking anywhere near something new
for a GTi probably 7-10 years old if you want something with not too high miles
friend of mine recently sold a 10 year old GTI for arround 11k
heavily modified but that about what you pay for them
Ah gotcha
just one thing regarding GTIΒ΄s if you get one with more than stock engine power you gonna wear the front tires really fast
the R is better in that regard with its AWD
You can get many nice cars for $12k
I really like the style of older hatchbacls
*hatchbacks
The r is a must for the all wheel drive though
What climate are you looking to use it in?
Chicago area and Maine
You could take a look at BMW E92, if you're into Euro cars.
Ok
The 335 models have a ~300 hp engine. So it isn't a slouch either.
the n54 is also very tunable
just watch out for common issues like hpfp, turbo wastegate rattle, etc
Ty for da help
This guy really wants to sell his crap 330ci
well the price seems a bit high but someone might pay it
It's been up for 8 months
than there is either something badly wrong with it or the prices are lower where you live
$8,300 is way too much for that car.
really depends on the milage
i can find plenty of these more in more expenesive but also a lot cheaper
the ones for 10k⬠are usually like 80000km but same age
241401.6 KM
If it was a coupe with a manual, then it might have been worth that $8k
arround hbere everything is manual
auto is very rare for older cars here in europe
π¦
Ik
But it doesxn;t pull until 3-4k rpm
but the redline is pretty high
OOOh. trueno!
Problem with those cars is that they are expensive for what you get.
Even if they are great cars.
Yeah, i'd rather get an e46 m3
You'd really have to import one if you wanted one. And then you would have to deal with it being a right-hand driven car.
I mean the 86.
wat
Toyota AE86, Toyota Corolla Levin, Toyota Sprinter
oh
Same car (more or less) different name.
Japanese exclusive if you want a proper one.
If I remember right.
The spiritual successor of that car is the GT86.
BRZ if you prefer Subaru.
or FR-S if you think Scion still exists
still haven't watched initial D
And it was a really common car to use for drifting, etc over in Japan as well.
Not a bad show, actually.
I have alot i need to watch tbh
You can just watch the first season of it if you want.
I think the fastest AE86 used an engine with a whoppin' 130 hp.
Nah. I would keep it a 4 cylinder.
I would honestly keep the engine. Give it a nice tune, and some Individual throttle bodies.
Or you could go nuts and throw in a 1,000cc engine from a super bike. Would probably fit the car more than something as heavy as a 2JZ.
~190 hp. And screams up to 13k rpm.
Cutest little turbo I've ever seen
owo
how many miles on a bike is considered "alot"
Probably the same as a car, depends more if it was dropped then millage. So 100k to 150k but people dont really ride them that often as a car so you prob would see around 20k to 50k on listings. A motor is a motor regardless if its in a car or bike, difference is capacity and maintenance. If you see a supersport at 5k it was most likely dropped a few times.
So.. people can cars in this section?
Sure
@sterile verge we car like no other
Heh.
E30 m3 is pretty good
@civic spoke 13k rpm wouldn't be good for your engine
Motorcycle engines can take it.
e30's are hard to find and expensive tho
Huh? I was more thinking about matching the Toyota AE86 to a motorcycle engine. If you thought that it didn't have enough power.
I'd never even think about putting anything other than a BMW engine in a E30.
If anyone has some spare money, then you can pick up this car for Β£17,000 https://racecarsdirect.com/content/UserImages/87496/489476.jpg
S54 powered E36 M3
Wrapped.
Previous owner (the guy who built the whole deal) had to sell it because was just too loud to drive.
I think he built and bought it there. But living in Germany now.
Ahh
Insurance was also a big deal.
Import fees and transportation would screw me over then
Since he couldn't properly insure it in Germany.
rip
He picked up an E92 M3 to replace it.
F80
M4 is the F82
so is the C63 s sedan
C63 wagon
yeah
Sucks that NA doesn't get any of the RS4/RS6 cars.
Europe really likes wagons and hatches
yeah
we get the rs3, rs7, and r8
the rs6 avant is NICE tho
Oh, and you don't get the BMW M140i either.
The only hothatch you can get with a in-line 6 cylinder.
Oh, right. You guys don't get the tiny-engined cars either.
?
There is a 218i
wo
~136 hp
how much does it cost?
I think it's equivalent to $27k-ish
Most of what you pay for there is honestly the badge and quality that comes with the brand.
"quality"
Though, they tune nicely.
really?
You can tune that silly 1.5 liter, 3 cylinder to ~200 hp.
dang
Which is enough to make it a fun little car.
Oh, wait. It was 175 whp, 300 Nm. Had to look it up.
From 136 crank, to 175 wheel
Probably cheaper to just buy whatever you can get your hands on over there.
yeah tru
The 230i still has ~250 hp
might try and find a 335xi E90/92
I would aim for one without the x-drive myself. But that's just me.
why?
more weight?
yeah.. probably
335i would be better
if i could find an e46 m3, then....
The non-M cars are still nice. And doesn't come with the M price tag.
Nor the cost of insurance.
Oh yeah definitely
Because it's "just" another BMW.
It's just funny how few diesel options you guys have.
Looking at BMWUSA right now. There are three cars in total, if you count 3 seires sedan/wagon as two.
And then you have the X5.
Our diesel options are 16d, 18d, 20d, 25d, 30d, 35d, 40d, M50d
Depending on which model.
This isn't a car persay, but the engine isn't turning over and I don't know why
I heard a loud bang and then it cut out and has refused to start
Nvm, found the problem
There is no oil
I could have sworn I just changed the oil top
yeah...
@cedar dome [ R I C E R ]
its not rice if i actaly use my track car on track
true
:P
Is that a coupe-modded miata?
ive been hittin the mountains here and breaking it in still
no its a 1993 honda CRX del sol SI
pretty rare these days
just did a quick glance
It looks really nice btw
thanks
how good is it on the track?
not crzy fast , turns in really nice
super light , mid turn light lift the back rotates easy
made 140hp on the dyno down in auburn washington
pretty good considering its only a cam , intake , exhaust and a tune
ahh... what do you daily?
2014 dodge ram 1500 and a 2008 mini cooper s
switch back and forth depending on weather ect
hopefully next year ill pick up a new car
before you ask , im an automotive service tech , hence the pasion on my cars lol
are winter tires banned in america i see so many videos of people sliding around in snow
doing that in europe would prolly get ur driver license taken
poeple in america just dont get winter tires it seems
you get a ticket here if your caught with the wrong tires in the wrong season
It doesn't snow in Southern California no need for winter tires
It barely rains too
So i just use all season tires all year
nobody here really ever buys winter tyres. And people think it's fun to slide around in the snow
So I managed to finally do a muffler delete on my Volvo a few weeks back, and I was finally able to record it and not screw up the video.
https://twitter.com/toybiff/status/946409979245940738
Cold start, so it sounds like garbage lmao
Still working on getting money to put on the Varex muffler I want
Is that a normal s60 or an r-trim?
I'm wanting to grab the R gauges and fascias because hoooly shit they're nice
Yeah, they are
If I ever manage to get an R front fascia I'm taking off the grille in the front and putting a black non labelled one instead because having an R logo on a non R car is like those guys who put BMW M badges on cars that almost don't deserve it lmao
I'm doing a sort of matte black setup, with small blue accents, and some other accents with carbon fiber wrap
Working a minimum wage job with dwindling hours because winter is the struggle
Lol yeah... Sounds like the product of it will looks good tho
Any performance upgrades?
I don't have any written in stone yet
I've jokingly thought about having a small nitrous bottle hidden under the carpet in the back with the spare tire, for a "slightly assisted all motor setup"
I've wanted to do some performance intake and exhaust stuff, aftermarket struts and shocks and whatever else, standard stuff
Yeah
It's kind of out of alignment atm because the people before me never really properly took care of it, especially since the transmission doesn't want to work so I literally have just 2nd or 3rd gear along with the other regular settings.
oh rip
It doesn't have the B4 servo cover update yet and that's a $20 fix. I just need to find the right time when I have money and a few days off with nothing to do so I can jack the car up and do it.
I'm almost wanting to do a manual swap because I don't want to mess with it but eh
Yeah... Well, you're very passionate. and your car is beautiful
I just don't have the money to do anything yet and it makes me bored lmao
That's one ugly gear stick
That's the spaceball shifter from a Volvo!
Oh no wonder the weird Volvo font
lmao
My car will be the 11' Hyundai Sonata
@fiery dragon do you actually have a skyline?
The r33 is nice
I like the r34
But the engine sound is awesome on all models
Yes
First gen
O
Ricer
Don't really care about year, at long as it has an a/c
That so bad
@fiery dragon DORIYAAAA
I saw a terribly riced Cadillac CTS
Like if your going to vip at least use a jdm sedan like a Cedric or a jzx
And straight piping
Yeah
Which can reduce a little weight and maybe find you like 2hp
Rice or nice?
I also really like the subie gc8
It's super cool
Type r
Civic type r o.o
My dad is considering the new one if they weren't marked up so much
I like the integra type r dc5
@fiery dragon btw did you catch the Initial D reference?
No 4
God foot
I don't remember a lot of it
Watching The Grand Tour right now.
I'm using a sketchy ass website to watch initial d
They left the lift up when they took the glamor shots.
@fiery dragon I'll send you the link to the battle stage on YT
Ok
Stage 1 was the best one in my book.
When is the 370Z getting a refresh anyways?
i dont think theres going to be a successor
Hmm Why not?
sports cars dont sell
but...A sport sedan?
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
my sources at nissan all think the same as me
hmm ok
ive been after corperate to push for a new 240 succesor
tne 350/370 were successors to the 300zx right?
yea
wonderfully tbh
indeed
and... easy to tune
yeah
i dont even think they changed anything internaly
hahaha
@tropic zodiac why a charger?
I like the style of them, and I'm looking for a sports car.
What if.... Companies sell sleeper cars straight from factory? Instead of selling sports car
Where the fuck is the fun in that
I don't know about you, but I always have fun when I drive a car
@tropic zodiac get a BRZ, FR-S, or GT86
@drifting geyser Probably out of their budget.
ya
I'm a high school student lol, I'm looking for a cheap used sports car
I don't make a lot of money
I will say this first of all to anyone looking for a car. Just get a cheap one that works.
A car is better than no car.
And you will save on insurance, etc. in the long run.
We got up close and personal with the world's' only street legal Aston Martin Vulcan on a visit to RML Group, the people behind this incredible project. What...
Really nice video.
1966 chrysler 300 i have the registration. 383/torqueflite/8 3/4 rear end. canadian model with b pillar. 47xxx showing on the dash. car is 98% complete and very straight. new floor pans tacked in the front, but have the pans for the rear. never got around to welding them in. new main rear leafs from suspension st laurent. car can drive and stop under it's own power and transmis
cons of this car :
no seats
automatic
need another car for the winter
new floor pans still require welding
Rough looking car for $3,500
3500 cad
its a pretty nice project for that price tbh
(tho the 1970 camaro that was for sale for the same price was nicer)
@tropic zodiac Where do you live? I don't know the price there but here I'd get a Nissan Cefiro A31

but the price tag is ummmm yea
That front fascia is ugly as sin though
no no is beautiful asf
Not in my opinion... I think it's ugly as well
its like the design team was in a meeting and that one shy guy was like "lets make it look like a brick"
and the lead was like "gEnUIS yOur HIRed"
*they haven't changed it in something like 40 years
I mean, it probably wasn't still
now its just an alternitive brick for rappers if ya know what i mean
Yeah
ayyy
So is there any s chassic fans herr
@fallow crescent lmaoo remember that episode
@fiery zenith I wouldnt go for a rotary, they are a pain to service
Not as bad as you think
Rx8 is pretty easy to handle as long as you don't neglect it
@drifting geyser I'm a rotary owner myself, if you're on budget you should avoid it, the car is cheap, but it's a high maintenance car....
@tribal pulsar I own an RX-8 (wish I had RX-7 π), that car loves to seek attention, CEL is on all the time I even bought myself an OBDII scanner just for it. Still a lovely car though, owning a rotary is like high risk high reward, a pain the butt to maintain it but owning one is like standing out from the crowd.
Yeah, there's some really cheap rx-8's but i'm scared because they're cheap
@tribal pulsar Bought mine pretty cheap, the compression was good, I had tested the car so yeah I went with it, of course some parts were broken but I've fixed it
Nice, I'm thinking of an e46 m3, 390/92 335i, wrx wagon, or (possibly) an STi
Nicer option to be honest, I'm just a mad man, before I went with the 8 I was looking for RWD cars and I wanted something different. I guess I'm a masochist now for owning a rotary
I like boxy cars to be honest
I actually wanted to go with Nissan R33 GTST but the guy all of the sudden just put the price up so nah
Fb is nice
I prefer FC though, FB is still nice too.
I might swap my 8, but I'm still not sure.... 1JZ maybe, if I get irritated with rotary, else I'll go 13B-REW or crazy like 20B/26B, it's just my dream, 13B-REW is more realistic
That's alright but I don't know, RB is so overpriced here, JZ is still expensive especially 2JZ but 1JZ is not really that bad...
SR20DET is another option that I have
yeah, the SR is pretty nice
Yeah, pretty cheap to get here, don't know why it's cheap though and I'm afraid >_<
is actually just a brick
@tribal pulsar Reminds me of that case where a dude bought a cheap PS4 but when he opened it it was just bricks
lool
@fiery zenith YO SCRUB you still have that rx8 ?? Lmao
Also since when we're you in this discord too lol
@cedar dome Aye I still have my 8 π the engine was rebuilt and she's screaming, should've swapped it with 13B-REW lol.
Been here since last week maybe lol and I'm addicted, still go to the forum but not as active as I used to be like in 2014
Just did an oil change and to be honest I forgot to change it until the oil was over 1500km of its lifespan lol, the problem of topping up the oil frequently, you just forget when to change it π
lol issue with being aussie for me is long distance a trip down to sydeny and back is 1 oil change each time
for me right now is none appently out of 4 cylinders i somehow have 1 left
what is it usually then
was every 1500km but now with my car basicly usless well i aint bothering with it
yea its a 27 year old engine so rather took care of it then have a blowen piston
@dire fiber Aww that just stabs me right in the chest mate >_<
your comment on topping up the oil reminded me of it
That thing really is thirsty, and I just removed the cat too so I'm pretty much f*cked when my car gets emission tested
I premix the car as well, so yeah things get more complicated..
Doritos on a stick
have you seen Roll's double dorito diesel engine they used to make
maybe
I have strong temptation to swap it with a JZ engine, but damn gotta try to survive first
lol how the hell did they achive the compression to get diesel to even go bang with 2 roterys
one rotor compresses it more
gotta be under some oddity department to think of that
same as a v8 to restrict speed
it was ages ago
yea probly lubed by sulfer to remove oil since its not specced on there
im sorta glad my car is basicly dead sort of since it was costing so much to run in fuel and oil (me thinks a few leaks were happening)
piston turned into a rotery
it got to that point where i just had to enter the auto store and they were calling for a bottle of oil
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Gulf-Western-XP-Engine-Oil-20W-50-4-Litre/127140?menuFrom=1021652 it liked this stuff for some reason
Just switched to Royal Purple from Idemitsu and now I'm so confused, the oil is purple and I can't even tell if the oil is good or bad, kinda mixed with the old oil. So it's kinda purple with a bit of brown on the dipstick :/
lol rip
would do a full change tho since diffrent oils can mess with each other or so ive been told
Haven't heard about that, what I heard is that there are some concerns regarding the engine seals
yea i just use 1 brand tho going from petrol to diesel will be a change since i will have to buy fully diffrent oil
Yeah
and i get hated for that since i normaly brought like 10 and 20 liters cause i had smaller 1 liter bottles and used those
used to buy a big bottle of oil and just put it into smaller ones since the oil isnt ruined as fast
Okayy and why are you hated for that? I don't really get it
nah im hated for more the switching engine since all 3 cars basicly used the same one so it was cheaper
even tho the other 2 cars are pree 2000 they didnt complain
this is littarly its build date its that old
Oh my
yea i took care of it
Maintaining it is always a challenge but damn you'll feel proud for it
Do you have difficulty finding the spare part though?
ive lost the passion for it thats why im sorta glad its going since ive owned it ive burned more then 2k on parts
not really
It's hardcore to find rotary parts here xD
I usually order from Atkins Rotary for spare parts but damn those arrive slowly
I don't think carbs are too bad, as long as people care about them
a lot of americans only use carbs on their muscle cars and there is still a lot of enthusasts with old british cars that have a carb per intake port
nah its hard in aus finding someone that can service them
that being said, if no one wants parts, no one is going to make any
I've never touched carburetor in my life so I have no idea about it
Well I was introduced to it when I was like 5-10 ish but I didn't show any interest for it so yeah.... I kinda regret it now
eh they can be a pain but darn they can run some crap fuel
How bad?
three star
or maybe even two
on a more modern note, the smallest hole that fuel has to pass through is larger on a carb that an injector
Maybe I need to slowly read about carbie
it's a tube that fuel gets pumpted in to
You know Doug DeMuro's whole Dougscore deal?
How come the acceleration scores are so terrible? It's basically just scored between 3 and 7 seconds for 0-60 times.
Actually, no. It isn't basically a scale between 3-7 seconds. It LITERALLY is a scale between 3-7 seconds.
Worse than vehicle virgins?
lol
cancer
Like every people would go with McLaren as their first car.
yeah lol
I rarely watch car reviews though
@cedar dome By the way, if I'm not mistaken I heard this the other day that you got 350Z?
He's kinda redeemed himself for me
A 2005 Maserati Quatroporte got a higher Weekend Score than a 2017 Fiata
That doesn't really make sense
@fiery zenith no i used to have a 350z and a 370z
@cedar dome Oooh the Z family, what happened? Did you sell it?
@fiery zenith yea sold both , the 370z got rolled by the chick who bought it , and the 350z no idea. was for sale , tried buying back but no buenno
@cedar dome Ouch.... That must be suck...
Yep
London and Paris are fun for carspotting, green Gallardo (I think), blue Aventador roadster, and some red Ferrari
That green one is an Aventador right
yes

I should've waited longer before I bought my 8, around 3 months later after owning it there was a guy who sold another RX-8 but SR20DET swapped
Don't know whether it's actually sold or still up
@thick comet Lovely cars, we usually find Aventador and 458 here.
Oh I just spotted R34 and R33 here.... But the R33 was broken though, the brake pads got stuck and literally rubbed the disc brake all the time. I wanted to take a picture of the R33 since it was parked to be inspected but well I couldn't find the owner to ask permission.
Bad pic of the Aventador roadster
I didn't think that green was an Aventador. But idk
I do have some difficulties differentiating lamborghinis, they look similar >_< at least in my point of view
@civic spoke that's Corbin's isn't it?
Mp4-12C is probably my fav car.
@thick comet Oh my that car reminds me of TDU2
@thick comet that blue car is a Huracan I think
I didn't get any pics of the front but I'm 99% sure it's an Aventador
Aventador is much wider
π€·
Also saw about a million Porsches , 2/3 i8s , and several Bently SS
0-60 feels fast in my car, can't imagine the experience in that car
With the roaring V10 behind you
You seen the video of the new roadster accelerating?
It looks fake xD
Haha
@dire fiber Yeah, it is.
I don't get bothered with electric, I just hate the community
I literally got roasted by everybody for using combustion engine, and what made it worse was the rotary
lol
@thick comet @meager grove Any of you guys got the link?
