Getting right to the punch, this is what I believe a female Lepidopterran would seem to be.

Sexual dimorphism in winged insects in real life tend to skew the females to be larger than the males.

So what I think is that female Lepidopterrans would be big, bulky bugs that aren't very fast or nimble.

This bigger, less aerodynamic body would likely lead to the females going for slower, more sustained flight at higher altitudes than their male counterparts, with them developing thicker, armor like carapaces to soak up blows that they are unable to dodge.

Bigger body also means less sightlines, so I'd imagine developing antennae would plug the gaps in visibility by giving away where oncoming threats might come from.

Finally, and just because I thought it'd be cool. Females can drop basically explosive filled sacs from their underbelly, bombing the shit out of any Buglizard nests they may come across. The thought process being the males are slick, fast fighter jets, females are slow, steady bombers.

Fair! I just mostly used the knowledge of bugs to make basically an uparmored Stinkfly lol
