OK so the c lass 66 is like easy to me, it slows nicely. But others like the BR’s are horrific is there any mathematical magic stopping distance like lengths speed = distance etc because either and miles away or i run the reds

You might be using the loco break on the older trains like the class 37. Try using the train brake. As the loco breaks only applies well the locomotive breaks instead of the full train breaks unlike what the train break does
