#Flight Sims (MSFS, P3D, X-Plane, DCS, FS98...)
1 messages · Page 58 of 1
DD my beloved
Bit heavy on performance, but again, not out of the ordinary - it's just like any other of his sceneries, maybe even less impact
loved their scenery for P3D, albeit pretty dated now
Honestly I'd say they're easily in the top 3 best scenery devs
I don't judge. I don't play TSW too often either, or any trains for that matter
FlyTampa ranks high on my list, mostly cause their rendition of EKCH is pretty good
I really like the Pygree scenery for EGBB
FlyTampa is really great
I can say it is very accurate
I've got Boston
Yes same here
One of the first sceneries I got
Maybe even the first
Very good
Flightbeam are also great, SFO is amazing
I have Boston, Las Vegas, Copenhagen, Corfu, Amsterdam
I would get Sydney, but eh don't do much Australian flying
Honestly, ini are great, but they end up being the worst in terms of performance for me. And the V2s imo are just unwarranted
well don't do much flying at all at present
Oh I've got Corfu too, flew into there once. It's nice
Btw I'm kinda surprised Sheremetyevo is chosen for CTP
And like, I think it's in there quite often too
TNCM good lord though
will see what open bookings there are later on & see if theres a good city pair
last CTP I flew was 2024
Like, Sheremetyevo gets chosen, but there's no stuff like LTFM
Also for some reason the only open slots I'm seeing that go to UUEE are all from Calgary
Probably not gonna actually fly CTP anyway. Might just do a flight over the atlantic, but don't think I'll go for vatsim
Oh I might do KSEA - UUEE in the 772
Need to return that plane home eventually
But first need to fly it from KSFO to KSEA
Got my slot
TAKE ME WITH YOU
its alright
it works
if u dont spam the fmc buttons all the time it works
That's crazy seeing the flaperons and ailerons not working together
I guess it kind of makes sense?
Maybe?
Crazy how well Deltaflot works
about to arrive in the netherlands (finally)
I really really want to fly the Tu-114 on FSX
But I'm not sure I can bring myself to do it
I'd definitely have to use the GPS
New York to Moscow as if it's 1961
On a positive note, even being a pistoncraft, Tu-114 can achieve jet speeds
So unlike doing that in a DC-6/Connie, a Tu-114 would only take 10 hours

A solid crosswind arrival into YYZ as this Air Canada 787-9 touches down on Runway 24R.
Just after touchdown, a noticeable wing dip occurs as the aircraft transitions from crab to runway alignment, briefly lifting the right main gear before the crew smoothly corrects.
Moments like this highlight how dynamic crosswind landings can be, even on m...
Can't really see that kind of "opposite movement"
God she's beautiful
Heck yeah
Honestly the best part imo is the engines
Cause
They actually match
Blue with an orange band at the front
And the shades are really similar too
Changed it for Volanta
Lovely paint scheme
Only
I agree
May not be as cool as the old ones
But I still love it
Plus well
It's a 77W
Most of my flights with Aeroflot were on those
I've never flown Aeroflot
Literally almost all the best memories I have are there thanks to that plane
Once things calm down maybe I will visit 🙂
So like, I'll always be biased towards AFL triples, they'll always have a special place in my heart
Hopefully that happens soon...
Can't wait
Ron Allen ❤️
Tbh I know quite a few people don't really enjoy it, but I think it's a nice livery
Ron Allen or AeroFlot?
They must be blind
And tbf for now I've not actually seen anyone say that Aeroflot's livery is bad
It's simplistic of course, almost all modern liveries are
So it's not one of the best (like I'd say Thai is)
But it's really nice in itself, it's not your plain eurowhite either, it stands out
Also 3 out of my 5 most-flown planes all wear Aeroflot's current livery
I really like Astrojet
Oh hell yeah
I quite like it as well
I love american for doing the retro paint schemes on the NG's
N917NN is my fave
So colourful
Convair 990A
First airliner to be fitted with turbofans
I think while fairly understated this is one of my absolute favourite liveries of all time
I thought it was disappointing the way they did it in the 777
Not actual metal
This one on the 737 looks great
N921NN is a fave too
@rustic charm this isn't just the AA livery? 😭
In what world do we live in?
Wait, I thought that's the normal AA
I like to call it Amtrak AA lol
Isn't it 1994?
The 80s were just 10 years ago yeah?
Insert calendar meme
Well late 80s were just 4 years ago even
Time really flies eh?
Did you see Boeing's plans for a new jet? I think they're going to call it 777
That's super cool yeah. Looks to be on track to become a huge seller
I mean, the A330 is very cool and I'm sure will be a huge success
Honestly I don't know, I think airlines will ask for more range soon
It is literally 1994
Best part is I wasn't even alive in 1993 yet

San Marino GP
N915NN ❤️
I mean yeah probably, but not sure, it definitely has a lot of potential for big trunk routes
Ratzenberger died during qualifying, Senna died in the race
I got to see EI-DCL the other day, it's a shame it's not in the Boeing house colours anymore
but maybe the A340 and A330 will corner the longer range market
That just looks strange
Air Berlin had as well
it seemed to be relatively common for big Boeing customers at the time
it's a shame that thing seemed to have stopped now
What a beauty
I love china airlines such good liveries
The liveries these days sadly are a bit crap
This thing that AAL does of doing heritage liveries of its acquired carriers is something that they carried over from US Airways, and it's always so weird 😆
there's the "US Airways" variant of most of the AAL Heritage liveries
Btw since AirCal was mentioned
We have this now
Woah :0
Now only if the default md-82 on xplane wasn't 360p quality
Time to see how this goes
I remember there were a few good ones on fs.to, but I can't seem to be able to find them anymore?
And tbf, after they release their v2 it became cheaper as well lol
Okay it seems this one
Which is, not how this usually goes
Rotate made a mod to make it better
Yk the same guys who made the md-11
https://flightsim.to/addon/83553/fenix-a319-us-airways-piedmont-n744p-cfm-and-iae
This is the only one I could find and this person committed the ultimate sin (stretched writing)
Looks like I'm doing Charlotte to San Antonio
Ultimate sin is mirrored livery
MSFS is doing the fucking time change thing again
Enjoy
I remembered I downloaded that one lol
i miss jas
im sad i never got to fly on them : (
thank you so much ❤️
It's a huge tragedy that in MSFS24 we lost the EIS-1 mod
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_D1yQEt7KQ
Welcome to the first video in a series of videos known as; Cockpit Tours. These tours of the Flightdeck allow enthusiasts to learn about piloting an aircraft, and what basic instruments are used in flight. As always, thanks for watching, and subscribing. Video Information below.

Did we have an EIS-1 mod in 2020?
nono i believe the eis1 mod still is a thing
a hues creator told me it doesn't work anymore?
apparently not anymore
the Fenix doesn't work anymore if you try to load the additional model
oh is that in MSFS2024?
Wait guys just wait
i'd assume so
how did you
oh i assume hues has done eis1
thats for 2024 only though
hold on
this isf or 2020
idk if this works tho
Thank
i didnt use any hues livery for the fenix with zcore
you're right guys sorry
it was a misunderstanding between me and the guy
it still works but doesn't work standalone anymore
Was going to do the flight but now I can't be arsed
so yeah when he told me it doesn't work he meant just standalone, and I thought he meant in general
Stupid sim resetting bug
MSFS 2024 is on sale for $12 off right now
Huh that's weird
Why did they decide to do the sale now
Instead of going for Steam's spring sale, etc
I gotchu 1 sec
HALO
What
like, why not participate in steam's big sale, instead of a tiny one thats studio-specific
fh6 under a month away? maybe try capitalise on the hype to get some peeps to buy fh5?
idk
oh, today is 513 days since it released
i bet you any money they were waiting for 500 days, the spring sale ended before that milestone
this is unrelated to flight sims, but i had no idea that steam is going to do a "train fest" sale
steamdb
Steamdb
oh it shows sales?
Has a list of all planned sales
crazy knowledge
It doesn't show small dev-specific ones
only steam sales though
I don't remember there being one before tbh
Tsc, tsw
Uh
There was Trains, Planes & Automobiles instead I think
Derail valley maybe
That was a good one
i was going to say, the only train sims on the market are all dovetail-owned lol
Well
i can count the amount of train games on steam on one hand
It doesn't only include sims
Guys this is NOT the place for that
sadly
At least TP&A included literally everything to do with either category
Like
RailRoute

Mini Airways
there has been a lot of cozy train games come out recently
og timewasting game
fenix A320
w8 new fenix update?
tiny update
fenix neo plz
Plus tbf, Trainz still has a massive following for whichever reason, you have SimRail which has been expanding now at least, then you have like a dozen different subway sims, etc
Finally my airac isn't 2 years behind
That's long overdue tbh
I think it was initially planned to be end of last year release lol
actually coping each month for it
im not gonna bash fenix on why its taking so long because i respect their work
nothing will ever beat the FBW A320neo honestly
theyre completely redoing the flight dynamics
theyre redoing the whole vnav and ecam logic too
But well, to be honest, if there's one thing certain about flight sims, it's stuff will be delayed
Now I do wonder
which is also why it took so long for them to release the winglets, they have a completely different flight model that takes into account the effect of the winglets
Tbf they're rebuilding neos from ground up
How tf do I update my xplane cycle
Think it basically has 0 things in common with the ceos
that i knew, yes
essentially outside the model i guess you called it a 'new plane'. not that redditors will recognise that and think theyre buying the same plane twice
Even the models were redone I think they said
theyre asking 60-70 gbp for the same plane again sob sob :(
honestly, the only real reason to get a fenix NEO pack is for an A321neo, and even then, malawarelabs released theirs, and inibuilds has one now too
Can I even update my xplane cycle
idk i was exagerrating, i expect it at like 50-60
I think it is gonna be a full price thing, yeah
the A320neo is already extensively covered by FBW, and the A319neo is so unbelivably niche that i dont think anyone is actually going to buy it just for that

will the fenix neo have the LR/XLR for the 321 however
No 319s though so I'd assume that not a full 320 + 319/321 price, just the full 320 base price
did they say anything about it
Don't remember tbh
i dont believe so
What cycle is msfs 2020 on again?
probably will tbf
xplane is the navigraph FMS data manager, and MSFS is navigraph hub
i dont know if you can even download them without a subscription though
😭
I'm kinda expecting it to be everything
It's so expensive though
I'm just hoping it doesn't arrive when all the other aircraft are releasing this year
Be like me, fly old data
all happy with Fenix & all, but my 321neo needs have been met with the FSLabs
i really dont particularly enjoy fenix's PR team too, or at least their devs just say whatever they feel like, which is really bad
Vatsim controllers are gonna get annoyed
tbf we get people with outdated airacs all the time, its no big deal
i dont know how you would ever fly VATSIM without charts at the very least though
i cant even fly without charts normally

true, chartfox exists, i just dont prefer their UI
And the rest can be found quite easily too
only airport I can navigate pretty easily without getting charts up is EKCH
Am I right in saying 24 has a bunch of lido charts?
I don't like that Italy doesn't have any for some reason
yeah, it has a built-in flight planner and everything too, its weird
For me that's UUEE
Plus well, several others, but most of those don't require much navigation. Just one taxiway, one runway
UUEE is the only big one I can easily go through without any charts
I would've thrown EKBI, EKRN & EKAH into the mix but they're pretty small airports
EKRH is truly the easiest one of them all
Now my question is how the hell do I get Kai tak the be in my xplane airport database
I think if you install a scenery for it, it should get added to the list
this'll be fucking fun
funnily enough I updated my airac on navi hub before this flight then updated fenix :x
i think i did the same thing
didnt even consider that it would downgrade it
oh yeah, has anyone else had issues with the indiafoxtecho F-14 and chaseplane? for some reason the joker menu breaks with chaseplane
i dont know if something is outdated or what though
thank you random vatsim member for telling me what to do
you can tongue punch my fartbox you fucker
one insult that i learned recently is "you can sit on it and spin" is my new favorite
What should you do
''please use CTAF for all communications'' yea while you told us your fucking life story on 122.8
I think it is pretty apparent for those of us with the ability to read
theres a reason I don't interact much with the flight sim community, mostly because for the most part its a gaggle of mongs that fly PMDG aircraft once & think they're hot shit
i got my moms old fire tablet to use for navigraph and stuff, but its ANCIENT, and it loads navigraph at like 5FPS 😭
& don't forget the "I have a PPL, so I know best about every single aircraft and everybody should listen to me"
I am a vatsim controller so I am the expert in all things aviation
Also what I often find funny is how if a real pilot said something about a sim plane, then it must be right
anyway now I finally found an excuse & some time away from the job to rescue the Hotas X from the top shelf
Obviously if you hold an ATPL irl it gives you a lot of credibility on generic aviation questions, and like, if you fly an A320 irl for example, it makes you really credible when talking about any A320
But then thing is, when it comes to other types, those pilots are... just simmers, like everyone else. If you fly an A320, it doesn't mean your word about a 747 will always be correct
obviously in regards to systems yea, I'd never trust people when they sim with like an xbox controller & bitch about how it feels
And most of the youtubers/etc actually understand that, but audiences don't
this era of flight sim needs a matt davies
you'd never catch me complaining about how a truck in ETS2 doesn't feel ''correct'' to drive cause im using an xbox controller
I kinda stopped reading aircraft reviews because most of it is, glazing Fenix & cursing PMDG
Honestly I just don't even try to say "feels realistic/unrealistic"
I have no idea how this plane is supposed to fly
Now whether it feels nice or not, that I can judge, but that is entirely subjective
the only time I said something felt super unrealistic was when I flew a fully loaded aircraft & it felt like I was flying a fighter jet
but nah, im not a pilot in the real world & honestly all the gimmicky shit that flight simmers care about is just
Well yeah, sometimes you get things that are pretty obvious
''oh it doesn't have CBs you can pull'' yea well name me 1 instance where you need to pull a circuit breaker
What's important for me is whether I can fly it from one place to another and enjoy it, and in case what, do holds/diversions, etc
if I can fly it on Vatsim & it doesn't obliterate my hearing then its all good
rest of it is sorta I don't really give a shit
Please contact me on 121.676
"Well you need CBs when you have failures!!!"
"You have 12097 hours, how many failures have you had yet?"
"1..."
"Did you pull a circuit breaker?"
"No, it was the left cockpit fan, it stopped working..."
I've had 1 failure in the 777, took off from Boston, had an engine failure so spun around & landed & that was that
I care more about a stable product that can do a turnaround
than I could anything else
Like, I always say, failures are nice to have, I like having them, you occasionally get an element of surprise in your flights, but if they're not there, it's not a big deal at all
unless you're doing a type rating and using the simulation as practice for that
guarantee 95% of simmers dont gaf
But then you really shouldn't be relying too much on these at-home simulators
I will say though that once Thermo King gets released for ETS2 1.59 I will be super critical
it better be the loudest thing on the planet or we're gonna have an issue
I will say the Techlog stuff in the FSLabs aircraft is a nice addition
has caught me off-guard a few times
What's it about?
I honestly haven't looked at FSL much
Wasn't flying yet in P3D, and in MSFS I just have the Fenix
Basically every flight its always gonna have something going on
So for example it could be “toilet roll holder broken” or something
MEL is nice, I watched my friend use it and its quite cool
Whenever they finally bring over the Concorde though, I'll definitely end up buying it. Probably not day 1 or even close to release cause I'm not that big of a Concorde fan, but eventually for sure
But also something like “Door 1R sensor blocked” so it’ll show as open in the EICAM despite being closed
Ah, well that's kinda neat
That is realistic too after all
Cause even these tiniest things actually get logged
Its a minor thing, but I quite like it
it probably will be a day 1 purchase for me tbh, if the Concorde for P3D is anything to go by, the MSFS one will be fucking gorgeous
best feature in that plane
if the lights go inop theres an actual sticker over it
super cool
honestly its stuff like that & the fact I've flown the FSLabs suite for years that makes me prefer the FSLabs over the Fenix
the only big complaint i have is performance
I love the boris sounds so much
fuck, i forgot that the MD-11 still isnt cleared for service :(
i wanted to check FR24 to see any live MD-11 flights, but there isnt any
Spirit Airlines could go out of business overnight – essentially stranding flyers who have tickets already. Here's what we know.
oop
lol, there goes my last straw with STKP
cant even import flights from volanta too
GOD DAMN GOES HARD
rise and shine
me omw to heathrow
idk who asked about shared cockpit for fs2024 but
this released today
@rustic charm did u try the TU134A
Not yet
Whats the western quiv of it in terms of range and usage if u know?
damnit
bro get back in vc what happened
what app r yall usin
Yourcontrols
Speaking of shared cockpit. Would maybe mind trying tomorrow with the T154?
We can fly at the Moscow vatsim events with the KLN90B GPS
I haven't seen any routes yet, but anything 2000s could be fun with GPS
Sure
I'll let you know the exact time
Alright
thats what i meant with yourcontrols
it works when it wants
Yeah, so, pushback is no
I was still at the stand
Basically we scrapped that flight and just went to try it on default planes etc
Could do that?
yes, would you maybe mind Domodedovo instead?
that's where the VATSIM thingy is centered
but no doubt other airports will be controlled so should work
But yeah that's good
Uhh, well I'd need to get a plane to Domodedovo then
No
that's fine as well
what airline?
It's Atlant Soyuz
sounds good, Tu154b2 or M?
M
Yeah, sounds fine to me
actually have shared cockpit work on vatsim hopefully for you 2
Well apparently in XP it works better
Plus we can start at a non-pushback stand too, they're really commonly used in Vnukovo
its v good
fly high my love
Last flight of the night, AAL3226 from Charlotte over to Columbus
All of the 5 flights today
Oh that's amazing tbh
Iran war and lufthansa wanted to get rid of it
welp, @rustic charm you can forget the thing today
sharedflight doesn't accept my debit card
and I can't pay in any other way
(not going to create a link account just for this)
it's an issue on my end
I don't know why, lots of payment processors don't accept it
I did already go to the bank a few months ago and they told me everything was fine
I might go back
Also weird they don't just accept paypal or something
yeah I get it
PayPal is kind of shadey and it keeps a commision
but yeah, makes it annoying for me
Well tbh any payment method gets a cut
I don't know how much paypal takes though, maybe they're just greedy
Yeah but I do remember someone (maybe Linus?) said that PayPal was particularly bad
for a few reasons I don't remember 😅
(PayPal was bad to implement as a payment processor)*
not in general
Hopefully you didn't have to scrap any plans or do any sacrificies to be here
I should have checked it before to be completely honest
sorry
Dw, I didn't have anything today
Good livery
Lauda ❤️
so fsltl injectors fr24 api is goneso :c
30apr its gonna become static aircraft only
So either I use batc or start flying vatsim again :v
anyone here used JFs FS traffic?
What??? Why???
for what I know, FR24 in sept last year sold 35% of itself to some equity
thus has be believing its no coincidence
Oh, I misread, I thought you said FS24, not FR24
Cant you use ADSB data with FSLTL? I know that it doesn’t rely solely on FR24
And you can also use the AIG stuff with MSFS too, which is completely offline traffic
I'll look into AIG
but yeah idk about ADSB, but FR24 has basically sold itself :p
and its what it mostly uses?
aint reading allat 🗣️
within like a minute of opening the app I get an ad now 😭
I don’t use live traffic too much so I wasn’t 100% certain
I use it mostly for P3D, it’s the old FSX system where it’s a schedule and AI aircraft follow the schedule, it’s not perfect but it is relatively realistic traffic
I think it also allows for things like AI aircraft reacting to your presence, which is a lot better than them phasing through you
Though, the other day I saw 3 aircraft that were lined up to land on the same runway in KBWI 10 seconds from each other, and all went around except the last one, so it’s not perfect
Mhmm
neither is BATC testing again tonight :p
idk what i'll do, fsltl was just easy plug and play, batc is odd at times, vatsim is also odd for different reasons
might see if just flights ai traffic thing is on sale at some point and get it to try it out
I haven’t tried BATC for literally over a year, and I haven’t tried out the LLM stuff firsthand
I haven't used it in a long time until today
and idk it annoys me, even outside the ethical stuff I hold against it
probably won't try sayintentions for a similar reason
maybe one day we'll get a good inbuilt atc system in a sim :p
but we still haven't got shared cockpit or double jetways so

for something like BATC, i feel like its AI usage is unavoidable for the product they want to give
AI has good uses, and AI has bad uses, and i feel like BATC is kind of neutral good
fantastic routings
still the superior e-jet product
not gonna lie, i've considered getting a flight log book or something to track my flights outside of just volanta
i could probably just get regular lined notebook paper and write it in there in my binder
If anyone had issues flying the HS 787 before, this is very good
i havent had any issues with it, but i wasnt particularly jazzed flying it i guess, its just mediocre
which isnt bad for a free mod, but a little dissapointing that it's the best right now
Yeah. Hopefully we get our new one this year
most calm RJ flight
i am having a good and easy approach
i am not a fan of how embraer has their navigation mode setup
even just hitting FMS mode disables LNAV and VNAV, and causes your aircraft to drift and climb
i'm trying to become more lenient with my flights too, even if i fuck up something in the flight path, realistically nothing would happen for something that small, so its not worth just ending the entire flight over it
nevermind, it happened twice on approach
I'm on the experimental branch and I'm finding that BATC is getting better and better
I do wish they did taxi instructions differently though
As it reading in sim taxiways means that if the scenery hasn't been done properly you're getting all intersections
Well we kinda have shared cockpit
And like
It almost works
Some things are buggy/don't work, the main issue is the pushback
But in-flight it actually works fine
As for double jetways, that would be nice
Looks pretty neat
a certified good airline\
PMS?
Power management system
Me failing to start the engines on the thing now is the funniest shit ever
Somehow I did it fine on my first 2 flights
Rember the APU BLEED S/O
Yeah, did that, I just forgot to disable the packs
Managed to start up
And then completely fucked up the takeoff and ended up in a ditch cause I was distracted
Will reattempt it later
Rare airliner flight for me
Its pretty possible this was the reason for that, I'm running the old mkstudio LIRF so maybe its a bit spicy for that reason. which is a reminder I need to upgrade to v2...
I mean natively with the sim, but the 3rd party programs do a good job at least
and yeah double jetways when?? in the dev steam they were like 'its not a priortiy but very possibly one day'
please asobo
the TUI livery works so good on the 78
First proper landing on vatsim, got a damn hold lmao
Does the XP 732 have a freighter/combi variant?
nope :(
its gonna be a new product
because they're also adding the modern 732 to it
w gravel kit n stuf
LOL
wait.. what is broken with the 732 in XP12?
i realized that i actually hadnt tried it in XP12, and it loads in fine, i havent seen any issues so far
they didnt officialy make it compat, unless they released a patch now?
this is just the stock version that I had downloaded from store.xplane
last i know jack halted the 732 for xp12 because he got busy working on other things and they wanted to make a complete overhaul for it
the only thing that probably doesnt work in XP12 is the CIVA, because that's an XP10/11 plugin
and the flight dynamics might be off
its not recognizing avitab either, but the rotate MD-11 wasnt either when i flew that last
avitab for sure works in 12 though
im gonna do a quick lap around KCLT to see how it handles
Fuck yeah
Hmm, the water here is made of water
lol, better pushback is not having a good time with the 732, thats for sure
Time for an overnight delivery
Already have the A300 done, now gonna do an A310
I had a Thai MD-11 delivered but I had to retire this one and nobody's actually made a different reg so I can't re-deliver it...
ah.. yeah... thats not good, the engine gen busses wont turn on, and the hydraulics dont turn on either
Aye, it will load in, but thats about all it will do
oh god, tomodachi life has an A320ceo with IAEs
Baller game
Another delivery
hopefuily it'll be done tomorrow or later today
Finally managed to sort out my mental health enough to start working on stuff again 😅
I see
Red fits well imo
Although I'd say, I think regular LTU looks better on them
I really need to redo yesterday's failed flight. Taking a TriStar into Corfu surely will be fun...
Apparently though LTU weren't the only ones
Nordic East Airways also flew there in Tristars
And Monarch used A306s
holy shit
how pretty
I'll do Air Luxor next
so you can go to Madeira 🙂
(if nobody else does it)
Sounds fun, I've actually not done Madeira yet
that's a fun mismatch 😆
Oh that's cute lol
Also ngl, I wonder if there was any talk of a -1/-200 within ini... cause I'm very sure the Tristar actually sold really well
I wouldn't be too surprised if it even outsold the A340 (which also kinda needs an expansion, I know I'm probably the only one but the -200 would be kinda cool)
I don't really like when devs do like one-offs
It's good to at least have something of course
But I think if you start something, it's going to work (and sell) much better overall if you finish it
Of course you can't make everything, some things always get omitted
But look at JustFlight for example - imagine if they only released the F28-1000, and no others
Or if PMDG only made extended range 777s and no origi- oh...
golden hour departure
Isn't it bit early for golden hour in the UK
i dont fly real tiem
most successful de-regulation startup airline in the 1980s US:
Honestly why does it feel like almost all of such things we see on 1011s are on the TWA livery
Also I really need to step up my TWA game, I think I've got 0 planes delivered for them
Although, I only have 1 Pan Am plane too, and it's not even in the US
same!
Almost there
finnair is one of those airlines where the new livery actually looks better
Idk, I much prefer this one
I also really like both ones before it
I would've used the short-lived 90s livery, but there isn't one for 2020
And this is just cool obviously
I love how they just painted the tail into their flag
Imo it's something that is actually correct when you're the flag carrier
On older planes it would also have a polished belly
Finnair MD-11s never got that
But their DC-10s, DC-9s I think, DC-8s, Caravelles, all used to have bare metal starting just lower of the blue stripe
This one's going to Corfu v2
Aaand nope again
It just didn't rotate
Into the trees we go
What's wrong with me lol
Trim indeed
Taxiing out again
Well, I took off at least
But now I have no idea what is happening, cause the AP is on and controls the roll (follows heading mode correctly) but I still have manual control over pitch... what
Okay seems to be fine now
Nice ❤️
Have you even done a livery for the fbw neo
Pink
A very nice pink
Man I'm jealous
I have a choice now
Winds favour 16 a fair bit
But 16 only has RNAV options, so I could try to vector myself to the north of the island and shoot a visual attempt
Alternative I could try a more conventional, VORDME-assisted approach to 34 with a tailwind
As far as I know, CTLs are unavailable
This is literally the only charted procedure for 16
Hold on bro I got you
Well, at least I can confirm the conditions are visual-permitting
looks fun, I'd just fly that visually
Lemme ask the Greek controller
What is CTL
Circle to Land
Tbf if I just forgot about the STAR, started descending some 40 miles earlier, I would've been able to do a straight-in visual
That would've also increased my chances of hitting the hill by some 50% or so
Yk what I hate about LGAV
They have a departure called KRO2N
And also a departure called KOR2N

@rustic charm
the A-10 has been 2 weeks away from being retired for as long as iran has been 2 weeks away from developing nuclear weapons
Let the thing die already it's not even that good for CAS
it's not even good, full stop.
now you lost me
Like what they did with the Su-25
They took armor off one engine to put more on the pilot
Now what if that engine gets hit
You have another one that's armored
Like I can't even argue with that logic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZNHjWxNz9w
@rustic charm you could have definitely circled
these guys are crazy
Tupolew-204 Transaero (RUS) approaches Corfu (Greece) International Airport "Ioannis Kapodistrias" at Kerkyra on 2008-09-11
Well those I'm pretty sure are mostly intended to circle and land on 34
Of course it's a Tu-204
Okay, now I see
Should be for both, once you're visual, you can do whatever you want*
I tell you, Russian pilots often have more fucking confidence than local pilots
at least they didn't try to do it blind this time
You know Tivat?
Yes
Everyone lands northbound through the valley onto 32
yes
The only times I've seen anybody circle over the bay onto 14 was, well, Air Montenegro on their Embraers and stuff, and various Russian airlines on literally everything they have
Back in the day, literally the only people to fly widebodies into Tivat, were Russian airlines
Ofc the other airline is Balkan
It's a 2km runway with absolutely 0 runoffs, they put a fucking Il-86 there, literally the most underpowered plane ever known to man
Tivat is in Montenegro, it's their airport
Russians would fly 747's to fucking makedonia if they could
I was about to say
didn't they fly an IL-86 there?
that's crazy
love to see it
I'm not old enough to remember Il-86 climbouts out of there, but the place where our family often spent the summers is right under the normal departure path, right on the coast in the bay. My father says when an Il-86 would fly out of there, they'd pass over the house at like, 1km or something, so low that you'd actually be able to see in detail that it's an Il-86 (and not a 96 for example)
"we built whole runway we use whole runway"
the IL-86's way of life
I would love to have this plane in any flight sim
I remember there's a rather widespread video of an Il-62 taking off and passing like, maybe 20ft over the trees and fences. I am very sure that was in Tivat
I did one or two flights with it in FSX
was a lot of fun
but the systems are very shallow
Wdym top speed mach .782
Just shot my first one - quite obviously a miss, but I think if I take a bit further north before turning in, I can make it work
Honestly I love how the AP can take care of just vertical or just horizontal modes
I'm pretty sure that's not something most other planes do
I am right now sitting with it fully managing my altitude in proper alt hold, yet roll? I am fully in control
Or I should say
I am fully in controll
I will not apologise
I am down
Welcome to Corfu, Greece
It has been a while since I had an approach this intense
Corfu my beloved
Nice ❤️
Evening rotation out of New York Stewart International Airport and bound for Edinburgh, UK. Great ATC service from NY Departure and Boston Center.

Wasn't expecting to see p3d on here
Well, at least not for something that's available in 2020/24
🙂 still a few details to add and I'm fairly sure the way the line goes up the vertical stabilizer is wrong and should be angled differently
but making progress
something I unfortunately didn't notice when I first made it
it's definitely not straight
this would also fix this widening (that not really a thing in the real one) without changing the geometry and lining up with the horizontal stabilizer
also somehow I managed to make it not follow the stabilizer properly 🤦♂️
I don't want to think about this now so I'll do the outline on the doors
I should make the cockpit window frames a little less metallic, but that's another thing for future me to worry about
Just saw an Il-62 on Volanta, now I'm sad we don't have one in either XP or MSFS
heres hoping giving this a second chance wont be a mistake :p
it was
can't even input a route manually without WASM
at least I didnt make it off the ground
Average FS24 activities
Average WASM code base aircraft :p
ifly and fenix are awesome in that they don't rely on the WASM module
Honestly it's funny cause I just counted
I have 12 completed flights in FS24
And I have 4 which had to be scrapped due to sim issues, WASM and stuff
So like
For now 25% of my flights in FS24 ended in failure because of the sim
I've done 72 flights in 24, 60-70% of those are in the fenix so I don't suffer it
Meanwhile I've got 356 flights in FS20, and I can only immediately think of 1 where the sim fucked up. I'm sure there are a couple more, but that'd be a failure rate of 1-2%
PMDG aircraft I rarely get wasms, its just inibuilds and the fss that I get the most wasms
Yeah, inibuilds stuff has those a lot
And lucky me
Out of those 16 attempted and 12 successful flights
15 attempted and 12 successful were on inibuilds planes
Tried the TFDi once cause some Brazilian airports didn't have any sceneries for 2020, the sim had other plans
it does make me dread whatever ini decide to do project wise modern airliner next
cause whatever it is, causes a market split that makes other aircraft devs shy away from it
and that aircraft will likely be buggy and filled with wasms also
Is there anything modern left
I mean
They are working on the A380 still I think
But other than that
The modern market is literally taken apart
I expect them to a 'premium' a330 due to demand, and may end up meaning we don't get a stable a330 from say fenix and stuff
theres still some modern boeings but yeah :x its saturated already
You have FSL & Fenix (plus like 6 other lower-end devs) on the 320s & neos, ini & Aerosoft (plus Headwind for the neo) on A330s, FBW & ini on the 380, PMDG on the 777s
Even the C919 is taken
Which is why I hope devs will finally start turning either towards the older market, or towards the 'made out of stalinium, forged by communism' market
Either one is a win
orrr the market completely crashes once we get a stable good version of each aircraft as money isn't returned from just doing updates. but by that point we could be heading into the next generation of flight sim (although I feel as if we've peaked for desktop based content so idk what that even looks like)
Honestly for the eastern market it doesn't even have to be old, I would absolutely love a Tu-204/214, or an MC-21 if it ever gets completed in reality to begin with
more older aircraft and eastern stuff would be nice, but i feel like for ini the tristar is an example of whether they carry on doing that and if it made them enough
I mean, that's really unlikely
ive seen quite a few flying it so hopefully
Yes old stuff or Soviet stuff sells worse than an A320, cause an A320 is really easy to fly and is really common
But also, old stuff still sells well enough to offset the development costs, otherwise we wouldn't see any of it, yet we have JF planes (which are old and rather niche), FSS 727s, even the ini 1011
ini would've never even started the 1011 if they weren't 99.9% sure that it would sell well
Crash might be an exaggeration but some studios like ini I can see downsizing once the moderns are done cause they can't upkeep
I'd fly warsaw-jfk in an il-62
If there was one
Ngl I wish ini just went back and at the very least just adapted the A300 EFB to the A310
Forget PWs, forget freighters, forget -200s
This EFB is just soooo much nicer
Same, the a310 could do with an update
lowkey maybe i'm just unlucky
I‘ve done a handful flights w it in 24 and had no wasms (yet)
don't jinx it :p
:(((
A350 has been a nightmare for me however
Turning the cabin off fixed about 75% but still
I've never had a WASM crash ever in MSFS
It probably helps that I don't fly any ini plane
Tbf other planes were fine for me
And the only PMDG plane I fly from time to time is the 772
No issues with the 330 even, and the 1011 is good too
Neither
The only issues I've had with it were skill issues
"What damage do you have?"
"Talent"
its the only reason I rarely fly the ini A340, felt burned enough by the A350 that I don't really trust ini as a competent aircraft developer
thank you dear groundcrerw
Fr, I only really have P3D installed for the stuff that isn’t in any other sim
big Gatwick
As if I've already done this...

whar happen?
