#Flight Sims (MSFS, P3D, X-Plane, DCS, FS98...)

Did you get that landing
Yesn't
Hmm seems like Volanta's glitching a bit, cause I for sure definitely 100% wasn't in the water
That's what someone that was in the water would say
How dareth thou accuseth me of such wrongdoing
See, clearly not in the water
(I accidentally hit num lock at some point, and the brakes are on num del key. And I also forgot to set autobrake, which I often do and just brake manually, except in this case braking manually didn't work)
Oh my, I must apologise good sir, the evidence is absolutely overwhelming, unsure as to what pushed me over the edge to throw such a horrible accusation without any evidence
Another three flights booked
Nice!
Hm
UPS’ MD-11 pilots were given the option to stay employed and switch aircraft types
Western Global also retired their MD-11 fleet, and they furloughed all of their MD-11 pilots
I don't see anything on WGA retiring them yet, but that's very possible. WGA took a very serious hit with that grounding tbh
At least FedEx plans to return them
back in the sim
Uhh, and I can't release parking brakes, cool
Ah... I forgot to remove the chocks lol
Okay, now steering doesn't work. Why? I remember it not working on the 146, but on the F28 everything was fine
Ah right, gust lock
LNAV and VNAV
I still have over 2 hours of this until I reach Keflavik
Ngl I initially really underestimated its range, planned to do Amsterdam - Edinburgh as the first leg, Amsterdam - Inverness at a stretch. Turns out it can reach directly to Keflavik quite fine
I'm almost at edinburgh and I have over 7 tons of fuel still, I loaded 10.4
WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERES A 737-200 SIMULATOR IN ATLANTA
Okay, we're going NDB...
HELL YEAH
What plane are you flying?
Passed Saint Abbs VOR, Dundee is just an NDB and Inverness VOR is out of range
If you're trying to do an RNAV approach with the 720 that definitely won't work lol
Nah really
Agh, unfortunately NDBs in MSFS only have 10-20NM of range
Good luck
f28 the goat
Every one I tried had abysmal range
They did work yeah
Maybe there are some outliers or I got unlucky
Inverness NDB is also out of range
Is it actually possible to edit the range of these things?
Cause in reality NDBs should be able to stretch literally hundreds of miles
Tbh it would've been really nice if someone made an add-on that would correctly place and edit all the ground-based navaids
Flying in Canada is such a pain because for some reason pretty much all the VORs are just missing
ILS/LOCs work, but actual VOR stations either just don't exist entirely, or have like 2 miles of range
I've considered getting Xplane like a dozen times, mostly because then I'd have the 757s and the 767s, but I really don't want to get another sim
blueballs sim 757 eventually coming q3 anyways
Yeah, finally is
Huh
ignoring that it has been delayed by like 2-3 years now but yes
And then they'll release 757 freighters afterwards, and maybe somewhere in like 2032 their 767s

When is it coming out
only reason id redownload xp would be for the felis 747
q3 this year, so like july-september
I'm 100% sure if I started flight school right now, I'd be able to get all 3 big licenses, a 767 type rating and a contract with one of the freight airlines before they release their 767
Tbh last year was really good for commercial stuff in MSFS, and this year looks really good at least too, so I'm not gonna complain much
We're getting F70/F100, 733s/734s, 757s, L-1011-500, A340-600, and also most likely the 741 and/or 744, probably even the A3B4s
At least the 757 is gonna be so detailed that it's gonna fry a PC that doesn't have at least 128gb of memory and a 5090
Hopefully
Tbh I kinda wish FS20 still had new releases
I'm still on 20 for everything that's available on 20
I want to get msfs 2024, some really cool stuff on there
seems to be almost challenger level of study level
Plus the dc-10 is gonna be on it exclusively on 2024
With L-1011s though my biggest hope is that they change their mind and end up later doing at least the L-1011-1s as well
Cause genuinely
Just the -500s
Way too limiting
No Eastern (I want to fly haunted planes, when else will I get the chance?), no TWA, no Saudia
No Cathay
No Caledonian as well I think
if u have decent specs u should
fs24 is rlly good now
how much vram does it have
I wish my dad wasn't obsessed with every screen being 4k for some reason just get me a 1440p 😭
12
Tbf I have 8gb VRAM and it runs fine for me generally
4070 is so much more powerful than a 3060 bro 😭
yeah but vram is probably the most performance deciding factor
I need to take that damn 750w out of the dead PC
I mean it's more on life less on actual performance
It still helps don't get me wrong
off topic but god damn the boris sounds for the Trents are so good
Welp, onto a long leg of just heading sel from Inverness to Faroe, and after that a similar leg from Faroe to Iceland
Gonna run to the store to get snacks quickly while I don't have to flick VORs
I think my phone heated up a bit when watching these
I probably need to get the Boris sound pack
Ngl
I wish he did PW4000 and CF6 sounds
its a must have for the 777 ngl
Like, MD-11, A300, A310, all that kind of stuff
I just found myself not flying the triple much as of late
I mean, I've had the triple for over 1.5 years now?
I assume Lufthansa flew 727's at Heathrow
And the MD-11 that I only bought in September beats it by hours
i mean long haulers are a bit boring ngl. limited routes in europe too
the md11 is pretty fun tho despite that
esp with the new update
(wish the sounds were better)
such an aura plane icl
Oh, so not just by hours, by flight number too...
39 flights across all the triples (77W, 772, 77F. I technically own the 77L but I haven't flown it once yet) and 44 flights in MD-11s
I can't get a damn thing
trijets are just
goated
- the quirks of the md11 makes it more interesting to me
The MD-11 is just the best plane I know lol
Honestly
Apart from poor slow speed control
I think they did everything right
Like, that cockpit
That's how a cockpit should be
It's more advanced that some boeings wdym
yes, perhaps idk
I mean, tbf, the only reason why it's "less advanced" than the planes we have today is because it was simply made before the age of fly-by-wire
Other than not having FBW, it's the most advanced plane out there
No other airliner has full metric altitude adaptation, only MD-11
I don't think any other airliner does automatic step climbs
prolly not, the a350 doesnt afaik
and thats like the most advanced widebody in production
Yes but I don't know exactly where to look 😭
Daily reminder that the MD-11 is younger than the A320
It's a 90s plane
Its design was just extremely outdated
Not the cockpit
Yeah, well VERY late 80s
I think production started in '88?
But also the only outdated things were the fact it's a trijet and the fact it has no FBW
Yep
88
Yeah, basically after wasting however many years passed since the DC-10 entered service trying to figure out what to do they just HAD to do something, and the only thing they could have afforded to do was improve (somewhat) the DC-10 at that point
Man the DC-10-Twin is the biggest and most interesting what-if in aviation history
LITERALLY and an American A300 years before the A300
Probably Airbus wouldn't have existed, or would have merged with McDD
Very early on there were plans to merge AB and McDD
"What if L-1011 didn't suck with reliability and performance" is also acceptable as the most interesting what-if though
The MD-11 is still imo the most advanced cockpit of the late 80s and 90s, but the L-1011 is easily the most advanced of the 70s
As far as I've understood pretty much the "Douglas" side of the Company tried to push the DC-10-Twin, but the McDonnel side was way too cautious and pushed to just of more of the same (i.e. super 80, MD-90 and 95)
Yeah but not nearly to the same extent
The A300 was an industry changing plane, the L-1011 being better would have just cannibalised DC-10 orders
True
Although I wonder if some of its features would've ended up being adapted industry-wide
I mean, eventually some of them did, it just took a long time
I don't think any other airliners went on to have approach descent control through speedbrakes instead of pitch
If you think about the A380 has basically ASC to reduce wing flex, I think the flaperons of the 777 and 787 work in the same way too.
And I think quite a few planes capable of steep approach have a DLC-like system, but only used to allow for the steeper glide slope
Yeah that's unfortunate
Also now that I think about the all moving tail is also pretty much a 1011 "exclusive"
Yeah 🙁
Such an incredibly cool plane
Tbh the approach control is the feature I want to try the most
Can't wait
Yeah, -500 only is a big bummer
Keflavik
Jesus fuck what's up with me as of late
It just started going off the runway, I try to correct it with the rudder and it just... doesn't
Thankfully it wasn't an actual landing off the runway, so the plane most likely would only suffer minor damage if any
Weird that it happened though, I landed the thing in Tivat before and on that landing it was fully controllable
Guess a rudder will be a perfect birthday present to myself after all
mcdonnell executives when they have to spend money
Also Douglas when they have to fix a dangerous issue without creating another one
Anyone here play Skycards
I think he hates Berlin guys
Air Berlin is the second largest airline in Germany. It's the airline with which I've flown most frequently.
You can download the offical Air Berlin song at: http://www.airberlin.com
Good news I didn’t have to go to Berlin
Back to my beginning here
I think my first logged flight is actually with AAL
But the first one I've flown was before that, with Alaska, on the Asobo A320
And later on the 737, but still with Alaska
That's where I started
So true
🙁
https://www.aeroflightlive.com/event-details/air-show-95
Sorry for the self promotion, going to fly here at <t:1770498600:t>
https://www.twitch.tv/aeroflightlive
Nice!
Might watch a bit
@runic hare I know it's more likely you're in RUK, non RYR, but do you have any idea what could have happened here? EI-EFZ went to Amman, stayed there for a month, came back, had that weird part of the flight, then today it just flew around BGY, I assume to verify that maintenance of some sort was done corretly
(sry for ping)
I guess plane broke
Cloudbase forcing me lower and lower 😬 Might have to god mode the weather
Made it 😅
Some of my previous heli landings
@balmy forge you're not the only one with your own airline here anymore
Welcome to the club
The DC-6 was the only thing I could afford lol
Well
Technically I could rent a 737 or something
But leasing is so much better value
A week of leasing costs the same as 7 flight hours while renting lol
Oh and of course, I took Anchorage as my base lol
Leasing makes a lot more sense. I've kept to three EMB-110s and then two Cesnas
Heavy maintenance I would assume
Done on the cheap in Amman
Ah interesting
Aaaaaaaaah cool makes sense
Yeah looking at the flight it looks to me like it came from the royal Jordanian hanger
I would also assume they did some pressurisation cycles or flight control testing on the way to Bergamo
Or whatever was replaced
Right makes sense
One was scheduled as passenger and the other was EI-EFZ on its way to royal Jordanian maintenance
2 flights on the 1st
Why it had a flight number I have no clue
Usually ferry flights have the callsign only
But DAC operations genuinely pull shit out of there asses sometimes so I have no idea
Hah interesting
I didn't know you got maintenance done there
I just assumed it would have been something boring like Lufthansa Technik
We use whoever is cheapest usually
Makes sense haha
So we can do our own major overhauls but we lack hanger space in Stansted, Dublin and Bergamo so usually for the uk and Ireland we send plane to st athans or Cotswolds
I’m assuming for Bergamo they use amman
This might be a C check or something idk
Delta DC-6 livery is so good
Yeah, landing this thing at 80-90kts works much better than at 120
I keep trying msfs helis, but they keep disappointing
Love this thing
Booked a few more flights. This is most of 2026s plans
Not bad
A few plane types I haven't had before which will be nice
An average MD-11 takeoff
(Thankfully it changed its mind and gave me a more normal 157kts rotation)
That really is a good looking plane
That is indeed a really good-looking plane
Whew, woke up just in time, 50 miles until descent
Off to do an unconventional delivery now
Gonna go via Anchorage and Petropavlovsk for this thing
Airberlin massive
theyre coming for me
Typical air force activities: showing off, doing nothing, showing off again
Kadena AFB explained in one sentence
Lmao
The fly bys were pretty cool tho
Tbh that's just my opinion of all and any air force
Not even limited to air force lol
Navy, marines as well
Any military that flies
I can understand doing that stuff in flight sims - it's cool, it's very different from anything else, and you can pull off moves that would destroy any civilian plane
But irl I think that any military aviation just senselessly endangers everyone around, even during peacetime
My friend works an ATC here - he says that they (the US) interrupt regular flight ops quite often
Which causes alot of problems
It's good if they just interrupt flight ops
In the US they might instead, idk, fucking split a DC-9 in half
And unlike fighter jets, a DC-9 can't fly when it's split in half
Perun had an excellent video on that
Condensing a like 1h presentation in a couple sentences
because was is going to exist as long as humans are humans (probably, citation needed), the job of your armed forces during peacetime is to maintain a high enough level of training and readiness to REALISTICALLY discourage any potential adversary to engage in a war with you
obviously this doesn't apply if you're an aggressive power and you're building up your army because you want to invade or you seek to start a war yourself
Sponsored by Odoo - https://www.odoo.com/r/IP8
Most of us instinctively understand the idea of peace and war economies. The difference between the two reflects the fact that under ordinary circumstances, you probably want people focusing on things other than just turning out as many munitions as possible.
But how do you move from one to the o...
Arguably it can be said that the only reason why there hasn't been a large scale war after WWII has been because of atomic weapons, and if not the only reason, it had a major part in that
Well of course, that's true, I just honestly think that war should not exist in the air at all
that would certainly be nice, yes 🥲
I'm against any and all forms of military aviation in reality, simply because aviation is much more fragile than anything else as it is, and adding such an element of unpredictability turns it from fragile to outright deadly
I get that, but unfortunately, you can't really enforce that... Having control of the air is an incredibily overwhelming advantage, no power will just give it up
I'm not against things like airshows - they're well-coordinated, carefully planned and (normally) don't endanger anyone (well apart from the pilots, but those pilots usually know all the risks)
eeeeeeeeeeeehhh.....
Or military simulators - again, you don't endanger anyone while you're playing a sim
Airshows accident that have caused a lot of casualties on the grounds haven't been that rare
Well yeah
But that's when airshows aren't that well-planned and go seriously wrong
Cause on many airshows people are allowed to watch from anywhere, even directly under the paths of the passing planes. That's simply dangerous
You can take various steps to mitigate the risks, but every performer is still just one mistake or failure away from another 2002 sknyliv...
Yeah, obviously you can't completely remove any risk of course
Yeah I get your point and agree, but I think unfortunately as long as people are people it won't really change...
Also
Kadena and Naha are like
The nbr1 scramble base as well as recon
As useless as they are but they do serve a good purpose
Yeah, unfortunately that's true
Can't get rid of war, as nice as that would be
Also tbf
I gotta say
I have to be thankful to USAF for pretty much all the nicest airliners we have lol
If the USAF didn't need a jet tanker, who knows if we'd have ever seen any of the Boeing jets
Going to the coolest airport in the world now
Now lemme guess
@reef isle I approve of your current flight XD
You still haven't guessed
What is he flying
Oh yeah that's good
Wish there still was a 134 in development for MSFS
I forgot to update the compass and had all the instruments like 20deg off (there's 0 visibility)
no wonder I couldn't navigate for shit
also first flight in the 134 after not flying it for months
I'm thankful for every second I'm still alive 🙏
Ahahah that makes sense
I can't even fly the 154 even if my life depended on it it's so hard 😭
I saw you climbing out of Copenhagen and thought you were just on the go
Then looked at it and was like "Wait, he's... completely off any runway, not even close" XD
yeah that's why 😭
it was meant to be a short flight just so I could try and get back into it gently
That's the fun part of old planes isn't it
Everything goes fine
Then you forget 1 thing
And suddenly you've accidentally navigated to Mozambique instead of Dusseldorf
yep 😆
although to be fair to myself, if I had a VOR on the airport it wouldn't have mattered too much
hell yes, my mom upgraded her reading tablet, so i got her old amazon fire tablet
so i can finally use navigraph on a real EFB
but my only hope to get on the ground is to do this off of SUP VOR
so if you add up the 20deg error across this it was too much
Yeah, 20 degree error is, well, a lot lol
Msfs 2024 has airfract tear right?
Also, so thankful that Kai Tak arrival altitudes are in ft lol
What the hell did I write
Would've been very annoying cause I don't know how to even ask the A300 to display metric
Tbh the best possible way to fly in China is the MD-11. That thing doesn't just display metric, it fully switches to using it 🥹
Have you tried politely? Have heard that airbusses don't like when you're firm and assertive/s
Airtank
Oh I know that
Once I wanted to fly the Tu-154 in china, you know russian plane in metric, super cool
And then I realized that the Chinese FL are the ft conversion 😭
So even if you have a fully metric plane, they still mean the FLs in ft
They are feet conversion
I'm supposed to keep 10700 once I cross into China
yeah but what I mean is that if they say to climb 9200 they expect you to keep 30100, which is not exactly 9200
Video on vatsim atc explained that you readback meters and climb in feet
Like, 10700 is roughly 35100 so I will be keeping that
But that's cause the plane is in ft
So I round to the nearest 100
But I assumed if you can, you keep exactly 10700
Cuz fuck everyone that's why
Like the MD-11 does for example
I'm keeping an eye on the fycy one
And revealed a new 919 variant
Still no LNAV/VNAV
And stated that the 929 development is going better than they expected
Basically were the only ones to take away something positive from the Singapore airshow
Very interesting
Cause iirc at the same time Airbus and Boeing basically had nothing
I've heard Airbus was kinda hoping to get an A220 deal with AirAsia, who are basically Asia's biggest low cost carrier, and would end up being the first major customer for the A220 in Asia and the first major low cost carrier with the A220, but none of that materialised apparently
Tbh I will personally say, AirAsia's not bad at all, and the A220 would probably work quite nicely for them on some routes, but the reliability issues definitely aren't helping
Also not sure how similar the A220 is to the 320 and 330
Cause AirAsia only flights the 320/321 and the 330, so they have very good type commonality and because of that can move crews around very easily if needed
I would love to fly from jfk to that German airport NoOne and the japanese friend we have here that I cannot say his name
Which German airport
There are many
I really gotta fly to Tegel, got the payware scenery recently
The one pan am flew to with 747's in east Germany
Ah you mean Tempelhof
Yes that
Yeah idk, I still feel very uncertain about getting anything bigger than a 727 to there
It's a 2km runway
Nah that's easy
One of the smallest runways I've flown to
It's smaller than most of Alaska's milk run airports
Plus, I don't have a 747 classic yet. Tbh once PMDG comes out with the -100, which I think and hope will be this year, I might try
Just to compare, Kai Tak has over 3.3
I just hate landing on the touchdown zone in general
It's so far down the runway most of the time 😭
Me when instead of gpws it's BEEEEEP
Finally @rustic charm
Nice, always feels good to be on the ground after a stressful thing like that
I look a bit like this right now
The thing I hate the most about xplane is night time
Almost over Hainan
You can't see a damn thing
Also my dumbass was wondering why the ils wasn't on the flight director
I wasn't pressing APP 😭
Descending now
This is better than what I was doing before
I was doing the conversion in my phone and attempting to work out the closest flight level
This seems... moderately alarming?
Ah
It's because it's past 2am
So instead of telling the plane that the block fuel is 75.9
I told it
8
Just 8
Thanks MSFS
I was flying to Canada in an A310 once and I went to go eat and the autopilot decided to turn off cuz why not and the plane spiralled
I came back at like fl310
ME was recommended to me and as I dont have any room for more ortho4xp I have been checking it out. Very good and rather clever tool, miles better than Autoortho. Still not as good as Orgtho4xp, so I am keeping my existing tiles for areas I fly all the time and using ME for everywhere else https://www.aiflygo.com/ also works for msfs

XPME is good
off we go
A tree fiddy
This might look like empty, but what it actually is, is me passing the last bit of land until Kamchatka
The route I'm taking is properly scary, I kinda expected it to take me along the islands in order to have tons of alternate airports. As it is, I have none. My diversion time will peak at 1:50 to the nearest airport between MARCC and BESAT
Just started my descent
Oh... this thing doesn't have metres at all? That's cool, China will be fun XD
It looks very pretty I must say
The system modelling seems rather nice as well
Multiple NAV options as well, thankfully
I do like that they decided to make a clipboard instead of an EFB as well, unlike the PMDG DC-6
ATA and Pan Am regs in the screenshots are actual 1011-500s
The PSA one is a real reg, but it's a 1011-1 instead in reality, cause PSA only had those
ANA is a real reg from a 1011-1
Air Transat is from a 1011-100
Delta is correctly a 1011-500
With United, BA and Air Canada I can't quite decipher the regs from the screenshots
Holy yes
Mentioned this one in their discord, maybe they'll notice and change it
Cause Air Transat did have 6 regs that are actual -500s
Yeah
They're also doing the stair variant and that was never a thing on the -500
The lounge was only on the -1
Yep
This BA reg apparently suffered a refuelling fire as well
They did the later design, which was only on 5 IIRC leased TriStar used almost exclusively for flights to Africa
I couldn't quite get what reg it was, a friend says it's G-BLUS
What was the earlier design?
Yep, must be either BLUS or BLUT
None of the other got that livery
Basically BEA ordered them, by the time they were delivered it was already merged with BA
So I'm guessing BA didn't really want them
BLUS and BLUT were leased to make up for a lack of 747s IIRC
I understand why they're doing that livery since it's more recognizable
But it limits A LOT what you can do with it
IIRC they also flew with British Airtours for a while
Same livery as British Airways (not the one with the big writing) but just Airtours instead of Airways
Actually
Not quite
Don't worry, all these livery will exist for the ini 1011
Guaranteed
But yeah, I've got to be honest
I'm so starved for 1011 that I'll probably do a lot of flights and airlines that never had the -500
I think it's a big shame that ini isn't doing the other variants though
Especially for the modern MCP, which I don't like nearly as much as the analogue one
I'm definitely flying with TWA and PSA for example
Also doing the United livery is certainly a choice
They had them for an incredibly short period of time
Not even sure if it was a full year
I probably will too tbh
Especially considering the chances of us getting others are... low to say the least
YESSSSS
Everyone buy the -500 on the release day
To show them that it does very good
Wait what's up with the A300
People are asking about it, I didn't know there was anything substantial left for it
I feel like I know what that is but don't remember
I remember reading about some unique A300 cockpit package, most likely that
Oh right the big screens
Not something I'm gonna use much tbh
But
I know many people will appreciate that
Did they mention when its coming
Nope
Ngl I love modern avionics but man
The article does say it's in the final stages though
It looks terrible
1 more dev update before the release still
So I'd say, maybe 2 months?
Could be less even
Bell 222
Started descending
Totally forgot that I can fly these now that I have access to a good 737NG 😄
New meets slightly-less-new
2 departures out of Toulouse in 1 day must be a personal record for me
That's very fun, Kai Tak is not in the database...
Which means one thing
I get as close to it as I can with RNAV, and do the approach purely by navaids
Also finally, an ini plane that has a landing calculator lol
Idk why there was a decision to make a takeoff calculator for the A310 and the A330, but not the landing calculator
This overnight went better than the last one XD
This is getting more and more fun
First, flying the A340, or really any Airbus apart from the A300/A310, by VORs is a pain
Second, it can't find the Cheung Chau VOR, which is the start of the approach...
Runway in sight, going visual
Of course no actual runway yet because only the satellite imagery is loaded in at this altitude, not the scenery
Oh, so they just renamed the VOR... on Kai Tak charts it's CH, meanwhile now it's CC
All other planes I have, have older databases and still recognise CH
Oh fun... the CC VOR the plane sees is not the right one either...
No IGS either, fun
Oh....
So
I kinda started this flight at 4am
And I was so tired
That I forgot that it's a different sim
And I might've forgotten to install Kai Tak for 2024
go to Shenzen and then repo to Kai Tak?
I just couldn't be bothered after that approach
Will download Kai Tak and redo this whole thing at some point
Why is MSFS terrain so weird
WHY DOES IT CHANGE EVERY FUCKING DAY
2 DAYS AGO I FLEW INTO UHPP AND IT WAS FINE
WHAT THE FUCK CHANGED
What's dutch about that picture? This taxiway alone has more elevation change than all of the Netherlands combined
The Dutch famously have bike lanes continue at sidewalk level and roads rise up to cross them, creating a "natural speedbump"
Ah, didn't know that
Not too surprising though with how bike-centered the Netherlands is
They do a similar thing with regular crosswalks in the newer districts of Dubai
Feels much nicer when you're a pedestrian tbh. If you grew up in Dubai you are probably sure that whenever you approach a crosswalk, the traffic will let you cross. I grew up 80% in Moscow, 15% in Montenegro, and in either one you gotta fight for your right to cross the road
Meanwhile with such raised crossings, not only does it just make it easier for anyone with limited walking abilities, but it just gives you a bit more reassurance that it is, in fact, safe to step onto the crossing
Here in Palermo most people always say "thank you" whenever they cross to the drivers that stopped
Such rare is that occurrence
I do as well lol, cause I'm used to it only happening very rarely
ive been having so many issues with the levelup 737
i really need to fly the zibo more
Idk why it keeps doing this
Literally, 3 days ago I flew into there, it was perfectly fine
Yesterday I decided to not fly, just wait until today if maybe it changes its mind
But no
I trust you
msfs 2024 moment
It's 2020
Same thing though
The terrain in MSFS is super unpredictable
Works one day, completely broken another
It's impossible to do the Kai tak approach properly with my graphics settings
The buildings appear like 150 meters away from them
Goes really hard
Toobad its kinda ergh to fly on
There are much newer triples too
Aeroflot took delivery of their newest ones in 2021
Also I guess it really depends on the airline
I really like AFL triples, they're the most comfortable by far among their planes
Even considering that Aeroflot has them in a high density configuration, seating 3-4-3 in economy
On my flight back to Dubai from Bangkok I was considering taking Kuwait Airways with one layover, would've gone on a triple with 3-3-3 seating then. Of course I went with an Emirates direct on an A380, but I reckon a lower density triple could even be more spacious
Well no I just looked up the numbers, and a 3-3-3 triple would sit the same as the upper deck on the 380
You can't post that and NOT ping me
Feel free to insult me, do you like this style for flightsim.to thuimbnails?
I think those are pretty nice
Now only if I had those planes
Get them as a birthday present to yourself
You won't feel as bad for spending money on them that way
Who the hell is bim 😭
It's absolutely ingrained at kernel level in my brain
James May (also known as 'Bim') has enlisted the help of Robohon, a futuristic Japanese tour guide who seems to know a lot about Bridges...

James May embarks on a remarkable journey across Japan, from its icy north to its balmy south. He’ll see the sight...
Rent free in your head?
Anyway if I am to get something for my birthdays it's gonna be the 742
I really want that thing
Tbh, I will say tbh. Obviously I'm generally against that stuff and myself wouldn't do that, but in your situation, I wouldn't think any worse of you if you, how to say it... sail the high seas temporarily?
That first part is insane
It's not your fault the economy's that fucked after all
80 with both at once
They now ship both 2020 and 2024 versons
I can buy almost 3 kilos of food with that
So it ends up the same as the people who bought it before paid, cause for the 2024 version we needed to pay $5 additionally
I meanwhile can buy 3 pizzas for that...
Well
1 sec
6, but 3, but 6. Cause I always get them through special offers which allow you to get 2 for the price of 1
I mean, here a large pizza in pizza hut costs 70 Dhs. plus delivery & service charges, that's roughly $25
I can buy 8 pizzas and have 23 Ron left
Or lei
I fucking hate this country
All 30cm diameter
I like the tomcanfly thumbnails for xp liveries personally but these are also nice
Windjet my beloved however
There is still a windjet 320 at Sofia airport
Couldn’t catch a reg but i can tell the livery
Now that u mention it
I pray to god I will never meet one of these
Haha that's crazy
Yippee XP12.4.0
Might have to get back into it after my little vacation
Though the Zibo/levelup 737 still makes me feel iffy
And when I was playing the beta with the IXEG 737s I got that OOM crash
Try it, RC2 fixed the oom’s
They had some code in the preloading of the mesh that caused a memory leak
Nice
I’m guessing they fixed the giant pit at KPIT, but I haven’t seen anything about it yet
They merged in the fixed runway elevation from the scenery portal thing, and for some reason that didn’t work well with the default elevation data, the last I heard they were aware of it and rolled it back in another beta
GOD DAMN
xplanes UI design is awesome
Is there any way to edit mods in MSFS actually
Like, if I wanted to redo the terrain in a freeware airport (or simply revert it to default even) but keep the other changes from the mod
There's releases like that on flightsim.to so I'd assume so
screenshot controls?
We haven't had any news about the SSJ since the trailer back in early autumn, have we?
Just check the scenery gateway
It’s its own website with info on the default scenery
That's an interesting livery
You should see the DB regio livery
I was going to fly that next haha
Neat
I want to fly the China Northern MD-82 next, but since UHPP is broken, now I am waiting for a response from a random Russian scenery dev to pay them a huge amount of $4 for their version XD
UHPP is literally their only release for MSFS too, but it does look nice. Shame they don't have an automatic system for purchasing...
I wonder if I'm ever gonna get a response from them, the last post was in July 2024
How fucked is the economy in Russia lmao
It's not so much economy being fucked as regular flight simmers just acquiring some skills, good enough to build a decent airport they like, but not enough to beat the top developers, and selling their airports for cheap to fellow flight simmers
I'd even say that overall, in CIS countries it's quite popular to just make stuff like this freeware
I think for older sims, a hefty bunch of (good quality) Soviet airliners were free even
I am legit desperate for the 742 I kid you not
Oh I get that, I completely understand
I am desperate for many planes too
I once damn near bought FSX just to have some Soviet stuff to fly
Unlike you I actually can buy the 742 for a sim I own but I can't afford it
15 hour flight zzz
God has blessed me with an empty middle seat
Enjoy!
Not exactly a full fidelity flight sim, but it looks like a really fun sim-cade game
I love the idea of like Railroader/my summer car/mon bazou/the long drive but with planes
It’s not out yet, though it’s coming to early access soon
Peak or peak
I will probably be burned at a stake for this, but I've never been a fan of any JAL looks
That would be very disrespectful
Booo
JAL landor is very hot I find
Saw cool finnair the other day
Yah for sure
Security in germany really has a problem w me
I get bomb swapped everytime since I brought live munition in once by accident
Annoying
Lol
Not in the old livery, not approved
QOTS
Beautiful
Would you believe me if I said I've never seen one of these in person
And it's a -400 too
Ur not missing out
They suck to fly on
It's not quite unbelievable. If you don't live near a big cargo hub, you're not likely to see one
On a 25 minute flight

I assume 747's don't fly here simply due to not having a place to park
Well, it's at least something, but if you fly often and have never been upgraded, that's really annoying
But the AN-225 flew here so why not
Okay, another booo now
Tbf it is of course really based on which airlines you fly
I'm sure many airlines have uncomfortable triples
ANA only
Not even saying to fly on one just see one
The thing is I found the 747 loud and cramped af
But with Aeroflot I would take a 777 over literally anything else they have any day
Well
Unless they bring back Il-96s and Tu-214s
My dad flew on a 767 to Texas in the 90's
Now where in Texas idk
Cause those are just superior, I'd take those over 777s too
Tbh I didn't notice it being extremely loud?
I flew on a -400 just under a year ago
Apparently one of the 2 flights (to and back) went super Sonic
Found it to be comparable in noise levels and comfort to other widebodies I've been on
Probably in ground speed
A380 is goated
Guys is it sad that the biggest plane I've flown on is the A321 neo
Would've been even better to be in business so I could spend the whole 7-hour flight in the lounge, but even economy was really good with Emirates
Emirates has good deals
I had an upgrade offer NRT-DXB (during covid!!!) for 200€
no brainer
Also I was surprised by the crew. The captain talked a fair bit. I'm very used to Russian crews only going through the mandatory announcements and that's it, nothing more
Also this exactly. Plus in our day and age you pretty much never get anything bigger than that on flights within Europe
Empty A380 and 777 was enjoyable
you could've bought like 3 planes with that for flight simming
I didnt take it
It was during covid and the plane was empty anyway
There were less than 70 people on the entire a380
Yeah, upgrades on an empty plane don't really matter
You can just take a whole row to yourself
I did a bunch of covid long hauls
Like i said
Best time ever
Crew gave out alot more stuff
Empty rows
This
My flight today was also p empty
Did y'all see that American has the worst water quality
I remember just over a year ago flying Bangkok to Bali, it was an AirAsia A320 and it was half-empty (AirAsia has a very cool departure time...), so even on a low cost carrier me & my family just went to the back of the plane and took up the last 3 rows essentially just for ourselves
In the US anyway
Everyone was trying to sleep. Meanwhile I was having fun watching wingflex while we went through some rather severe turbulence
Hows bali
Cool and very cheap
The beaches aren't the best admittedly
Well, hotels are relatively cheap
If you compare that to Phuket, or Maldives, or other stuff
Maldives was shit
I wasted so much money on it
I was very disappointed
@dusty sky my tip is honestly to get a cc which u can earn airline miles with
It's quite nice there if you take one of the hotels that give you a villa with a pool. And if you want to go sightseeing (lots of temples), rent a car (driving there is super chaotic and rules are made up on the spot. Don't trust google either, it will take you through roads that are officially 2-way but the locals insist are 1-way)
Munich or istanbul (probably muchen tho)
Munich
Other stuff like groceries, restaurants, spa is all very cheap
With Maldives it really depends on the hotel
I went to some private atoll
I've never actually said Munich in Romanian before one time talking with my mother
W waterplane (which was a must)
Well that describes pretty much all of the Maldives lol
But the corals sucked
Muchen just feels strange
Not even, München
Tbh with Maldives that is very possible
Corals r dead and everything was so massively overpriced
Expensive
Jetskis for an hour were 250€
Luckily both times I've been there the corals were quite good

Very colourful and all
Luckyyyyyyyyy
Plus me & my brother went diving with an instructor, you can swim around with sea turtles and all that stuff
And the whole family a day before went snorkelling with mantas, they're cool
Ah, fair
And yeah, they charge a lot
Did u go north or south
I think we went south
I'm not too sure, was a fair bit ago
But the south I think is generally considered better
Seychelles are quite nice too, but they're different from the Maldives
