#Flight Sims (MSFS, P3D, X-Plane, DCS, FS98...)
1 messages · Page 35 of 1
Soon as I fucking say that everything is going good…
For some reason CIVA decided to not automatically switch to the third leg after reaching the second waypoint, so it just sent the plane in a circle
Now I have an S-bend on Idaho-Montana border
Did the same thing after the 3rd leg, except I left for a brief moment and didn’t catch it as quickly
It’s still flying fine but the automatic waypoint changes don’t work
What’s weird is it worked absolutely fine after the first one
Welcome to Minneapolis-St. Paul
And that's also a welcome into service for this plane
The landings weren't all that smooth, but I don't quite trust Volanta readings. They indicate that this was worse than my Sterling 727 landing in Halifax, but it definitely felt much better than that
sponsored by norton antivirus
How is it
Very fun to fly
Some Air Florida
This is still a delivery
Started that one on March 4th
Did KRNT - KBFI and planned to get to Miami in one leg, but was low on fuel when approaching Florida (I wonder why...) and decided to cut it short at KPIE
Hey look, GTA 6
What are the benefits of flying a 727 you say? Well, which other jet will be able to slow down in time for T4 when landing 09 in Miami while not even using the brakes?
I did touch down slightly early though
T4 doesn’t even act as an exit from 09, I think the thought is no jet will slow down in time for it anyway
Just landed at Stansted
Ngl playing with BATC is a bit more complicated, considering that in busy airspace you do get late clearances and everything too
comfort plane time
though, ive only done freight landings in the MD-11, so im not responsible for any spilled tea or coffee
its funny, i still have no issue landing the MD11, but i struggle with everything else
the most infamously hardest plane to land is the one i find easiest
I have Kai Tak in XP11
I had to download a free scenery, but it's excellent
it doesnt work for 12 sadly
Woah, just 5:30 from Tokyo to Anchorage is quick
Guess the winds do really help in that direction
When I pushed the 727 in the other direction, I had a shorter flight too and it was 6:30 in the air
Well, the sun is setting, will be landing in Stansted at night
Over Ireland right now
Approaching Stansted
And now setting up for the fourth flight in a row, an overnight delivery of a 777-300ER to Aeroflot
Except I decided to do it in the other direction
Going over the Pacific and all of Russia
And a beautiful landing in Moscow. Now I have 2 Aeroflot 777s
Uhh, got myself into a bit of a problem...
Guess the taxi's over then
Having not flown into Sheremetyevo in a 777 for a while I forgot that this area is most definitely not 777-proof
Was supposed to take a turn a bit earlier, these remote stands are a bit confusing
volanta has easily been the best flight sim subscription ive ever used
constant updates and support, they just recently finally added offline tracking, so if your internet dies it still records your position
love me some wingflex
cool, xplane crashed midflight
at this point i want to upgrade just because 12 is probably more stable
Hmmmmm
I wouldn't be so sure
Both 11 and 12 will crash, but the reason is always a bad plugin
Я
after departing from Beech's factory and paying a visit to these nice people nearby
https://funplacestofly.com/funflydetails.asp?id=2474
I'm going to KMQS to get the plane painted with my own livery (which I'll have to create one of these days)
https://www.sureflight.com/about-us/completion-specialists
After that there's only the atlantic crossing left to get to Europe 😬
It's super cool how you're doing flights as if you'd just got it irl
plön
xp 12.2 is very very cool
here we go
742?
yup
Nice
Meanwhile me
Going from Fairbanks to McGrath (aka Middle of fucking nowhere, Alaska)
Why? Because I can, now that the plane is finally out of maintenance (not scheduled maintenance, repairs after the last landing in Fairbanks...)
Whenever flying this thing I just hope that I don’t have to send it for repairs again after the flight…
Out of 4 flights it had, 2 resulted in unscheduled maintenance
100 miles to go
after having some major skill issues on the waz
i think i got the hang of it again
approach is gonna be quite interesing as ill have to vector in without any waypoints l o l
Well, shit…
Though you were flying inverted for a sec lol
is that 12?
Both DCS and IL2 have sales on right now. Piddly little discounts on DCS stuff, decent discounts on IL2. Might buy tank crew
yes
Goddamn, that looks good
The Felis 742 is class
13 and a half hours in, around an hour to go I reckon
Maybe an hour and a half
Will be my longest flight once done
And it will break the satisfying Aeroflot rankings
Cause for now, my top 14 flights in terms of flight time are all Aeroflot
95 miles to top of descent
eats the plane
what do you think? Didn't necessarily want to create the most beatiful think even, just something that was very late '80s 😆
looks nice tbh
24 not in the summer sale is a decision
Xplane 12 isn’t either
these sales were top tier garbage this year
i really want to try autoland on any aircraft at some point, but it never seems to work at all
you're supposed to use autoland every few flights IRL anyway, but ive never found it to work on anything in any flight sim
God fucking damnit, I am done with flight sims
Tried flying the FF 757 again, my PC was fucking dying during taxi and takeoff, I almost lost it on the takeoff roll from overcorrecting, and then for some reason VNAV disarmed without me realizing so I was trying to figure out why the FD wanted me to nosedive while also troubleshooting my PC and my controls
Every single flight sim is nothing but issues, it’s literally a heads/tails coin flip if your sim is going to break or crash during a 1 hour flight
It works well in the fenix and pmdg
Yeah, I've used it once or twice in both, feels surreal to watch but it worked okay
Yeah, landed both the 737s and 777s in auto, it works absolutely fine in those
Should I buy the PMDG 737-800? I've been looking at it for a while but I'm not overly familiar with such sophisticated aircraft and how to fly them
not unless you really really want to fly what is basically the closest you'll get to the real deal
@reef isle the C919 is actually released now I think, although I’m not too sure whether it can actually be purchased outside of China
They are very easy to start up and fly
I'll probs wait for a sale then
PMDG really doesn’t do sales unfortunately
Cockpit Casual is back with a brand-new series for Summer 2025: “A Life Nomadic.”
Join ferry pilots Steve Giordano and Bob Allen of Nomadic Aviation Group, along with a rotating cast of OMD crew, as they crisscross the globe delivering empty airliners to far-flung destinations.
In Part 1, we kick things off with a quick dive into the untold...
new banger dropped
Well, they do, but very rarely
Cool
I think I'll wait until it's a bit more complete though
Yeah appreciate it thanks
Shame 😦 me like bargains lol
I love the face on the damaged panel
back in the new engine option
Thats part of the job
As grim as it is but going up to the helipad pickikg someone up is forever cool to me
Jealous of the damn pilots
My house is right under a lifeflight path, so like every few hours (especially overnight) its helicopter noise
Sometimes it’s extremely loud, sometimes it’s not
They must have been a few hundred feet over the house one time, it was so loud that the windows were rattling
Same for me, took a bit of getting used to when I moved in, but you get used to it pretty quick
I live over an airport approach
Terrible fortune when its a hub cargo airport that mainly operates at night
Praying to the wind every night so its a diff approach 💀
When I was in welding school, the shop was literally right under one of the approach routes for KPIT, so i would listen to the approach ATC during class to hear what was flying overhead
It was probably only like 2 miles from the end of the runway too, it was extremely close
wtf???
the VNAV keeps switching off in the 757 right after takeoff
which means the autothrottle cuts back
and then if i re-engage VNAV, it just holds altitude even though its on the altitude climb mode
nevermind, boeing SOP has you arm VNAV at thrust reduction altitude, usually 1000ft AGL
i just love it when aircraft do non-standard ideas for things, it really makes flying fun :)
the bluebird 757 shadow dropped for the 4th of july
yaay, i also got the sounds fixed finally, so now hte 757 is 100% ready to go
putting my new GPU through its paces, had the Nuuk scenery installed so fancied a flight to there
then maybe a long haul later
beauty
i still havent been brave enough to move sims
once they officially introduce downloading content instead of streaming it though, im 100% moving
isnt the 24 dl big af then
shouldnt be any different than 2020 i dont think
"big" is subjective in this sim anyway, i think my community folder is like 1TB
wtf
how does ur sim still load
@hollow oracle apparently its 400gb base game
holy shit
wasnt msfs like 180
FS24 isn't that big just like 50gb or less
i do not like streaming
aerosoft
Toliss is good, shame they're partnering with aerosoft though
Yeah, if the A330 was simply bad I wouldn't mind, there are lots of bad planes and lots of understandable reasons why a plane might turn out to be bad
but the fact they were actively trying to use their name and brand to basically scam people with that dogshit A330 has sent me over the edge
if we didn't have that creator that broke the NDA to show how bad that thing was, I guarantee A LOT of people would have bought it immediately as it launched
I actually forgot the A330 existed till now
shame cause I was actually kinda excited for it too
landed at Nuuk without any fuss from the pc, thank you rx 9070 you're my best friend
Luckily there is a Ini A330 now
its funny, i could never work for an airline irl or even fly a plane, i am in the worst mental shape of my life right now yet i can fly in a sim
tried doing a proper 757 takeoff without VNAV and it was still extremely bad, for some reason it doesnt climb until you hit 240kts
unless if you're supposed to hand fly it all the way up until 240kts and then you engage VNAV
its prioritizing speed 100%, it will stop climbing until it meets the speed it wants, then it climbs, which is extremely bad for departures with altitude minimums
outside of like 10,000ft when it levels off again to meet climb speed, its not that big of an issue but still annoying
attempt 5
this time i remembered to turn off the winglets
is it like embraer where you have to hit the takeoff button on the throttles???
apparently sort of, you hit the thrust mode button on the glareshield for takeoff, which is like every other aircraft's TO mode where it keeps an EPR set rather than trying to use autothrottle to keep your V2
and then it goes EPR all the way up to 240, and then at that point its a continuous climb without trying to match speeds or any garbage
as they say, 6th times the charm
nevermind, i tried this, but the same thing happened, it hit climb, it cut the throttles, i had to keep 0 vertical speed to match speed before it would start climbing again, and that was all hand flown
i even got a GPWS warning this time
as they say, 7th times the charm
somethign tells me my runway doesnt exist
the flight sim classic
get to your destination and find out that the ILS frequencies are fucked up, or your runway doesnt exist, or the entire airport doesnt exist (RKSI)
KLAS is fucking awesome, i love how the airport is literally right on the strip
as they say, 8th times the charm
doing takeoff, gear, and then flaps 5 on takeoff worked significantly better, but for some reason it went from TOGA EPR mode, to disarming VNAV and pulling the throttles to idle, so i got dont sink and GPWS warnings until i manually clicked climb thrust
i have literally no idea what im doing wrong either
tutorials for the FF 757 are nonexistant, and every airline and sim pilot has their own SOP where they activate different systems in different orders
I miss twa and pan am so damn much
I miss the old KLM 747s
Goated airlines and liveries
Truly the golden era of aviation
Looking for a more “modern” 727? You got it.
The Super 27 expansion for our 727-200 Pax & Freighter is on final approach!
Experience the power of upgraded engines combined with a range of retrofitted digital instruments – all the way up to an optional EFIS and an enhanced autopilot system.
Better pushback is this you?!?!?!?
🗣️ starting pushback & you may start engines!!
i know alot of people are gonna hate it but
honestly
very cool of them to do it
it adds variation thats needed
Yeah I think it's quite cool
i love flying classics but not love doing all the classic shit all the time
depends on the price though
As long as the price is reasonable yeah
Nwa my beloved
@bluebirdsim & Practically Geek proudly introduce the Official Reveal Trailer for the B757-200!
This Trailer showcases the current state of the 757 as the team continue to develop this wonderful
aircraft with the highest level of detail.
I'd like to thank Bluebird Simulations for the incredible opportunity to fly this aircraft in the simulator ...
i lost track of what # attempt this is
i dont even need to check my OFP for this flight anymore, i know everything from weights and fuel to cruise and SIDS/STARS and runways
i got OBS figured out at least, so i can finally record a takeoff
descending
Introduction / Credits
Benchmark Sims is proud to present its latest production: Falcon BMS 4.38...
One of the most awaited version of BMS over the last years!
New features
The following features and improvements are presented in the video:
0:00 - Intro
1:17 - New Terrain Engine
1:23 - New Atmospheric Engine
1:27 - New Ground Movement Engi...
this worked better at least, i wasnt paying attention to flaps because i was trying to keep an eye on what VNAV was doing
i tried clicking CLB EPR mode a few times too early because i was scared that it was going to kill the throttles on me again
that doesnt seem unnormal to me
i dont think ive ever seen an aircraft go completely level to increase speed like that, usually its just making the climb a bit more shallow until it gets up to speed, not stopping climb completely
Looks so good
The new terrain looks so good
it's an absolutely incredible achievement to go from 1998 graphics to that
good flight
i did not realize that i didnt have a KLAS scenery in xplane, so im going to come back eventually to get some better screenies
i blame lewdnekos for making me interested in the 747-200 again, specifically the TWA one, they have a flight from JFK to LAS that im probably going to do with the new KLAS scenery
i doubt im going to do it today, that UPS flight was almost 4 hours
I had the original. Came with an airfix model and the famously big paper manual. Wish I still had it
Select vertical speed, +500
I also blame him for making me install the 2 engine mods plus freighter interiors over the span of about 40 min last night
At least I have literally every single one now
A spokesperson talks about TWA's 747 terminal, customs and immigration spaces, and other perks to flying with TWA.
Speaking of TWA, this is the newest Aviation Commercials upload
ayo send links to the mods
i only use the window mod
i did that flight
felis 747 is bang
im abit of the boring side tho
i love using the LTN
- Install window mod first and make preset views
- Copy the PW ACF and follow the manual for this https://forums.x-plane.org/files/file/79311-felis-747-200-cf6-50-mod/
- Install this https://forums.x-plane.org/files/file/78307-felis-747-200-rb211-524b2-visual-mod/
- Make a copy of the 742 folder (rename it to cargo or something) and install this for each ACF changing the aircraft to cargo in the author tab of plane maker https://forums.x-plane.org/files/file/90041-daves-freighter-interior-for-the-felis-747-200/
done
It’s worth it for the engine mods alone but the freight interior is fire as well
The manuals for each are pretty good
You do have to install the freight mod twice tho
No 3 times
For PW, GE and RR engines and there respective ACF files
Beautiful plane
Does anyone know which plane could be marked as “AIR” in a timetable? It can’t be an Airbus - not an A320, too many flights for it considering the timetable is from July 6th, 1988; not an A300/A310 as it operates into random regional airports. Not that I need to know too much, just curious about what could it be
Ahh, thanks
Yes please
Aerial Simulations are working on one for MSFS, granted there weren’t any updates on it since they initially revealed it
But iirc they still say that they hope to finish it within 2025, so I guess they are making a bunch of progress and just not sharing much
Going for KMSP - KMKE in the 727 now
With BATC
Hopefully ain’t gonna get RNAV…
Traffic is fun ngl
A Delta 320 behind me is waiting cause I’m still starting up lol
Sorry but starting 3 engines just takes longer
Radar vectors, works for me
Thanks MSFS
This thing teleported me underground
The first time the sim glitched and ruined a flight for me, but oh well
Eh, will redo this tomorrow then
Glad I didn’t sink more money into DCS
ED is apparently dead broke, they reached a settlement with razbam and are dragging their feet on paying it out
Where was it posted?
It's looking so lovely
Yay!!! More Fokker news
It’s been a while
Hopefully we’ll hear about the A3B4 soon-ish too, I think the last post about it was back in December
To no suprise
When is it releasinggggg
My god i want
Probably around August
(maybe later because JF planes always get delayed)
Well that, I’d say around September-October tbh
Also JF can really drop them out of the blue, iirc RJ basically had no announcements. I follow JF news quite closely, and all I remember was my friend telling me “Hey streamers have the RJ” and like 2 days later it got released
Yep
dont make it even worse for me
Primarily in the razbam discord, but I came across it through the DCS Reddit
There’s no reason for ED to refuse to pay out a settlement, even if it is unofficial, I don’t know European law but in the US any lawyer would be chomping at the bit to get this easy lawsuit win
Avro RJ my beloved
@hollow oracle md11
quality takes time i say
not complaining or anything, just saying that its still a few months out
and to be completely honest, i dont have anything really against th current modelling
i hate how slow the 742 climbs, it feels like something is wrong
im barely getting 500fpm climbing in cruise, its really struggling to get past transition altitude
im also 700,000lbs going across the US, so thats not helping either
okay, its definitely a bug, because my standby altimeter is broken, as well as the FOs speed gauge, and its not icing
its not a flight if the sim doesnt have 8 catastrophic failures before the flight starts smoothly
Some of the coolest business props
I'm super excited
You‘re doing something wrong
I fly the 742 quite alot now
It climbs well
Robert A. "Bob" Hoover performs aerobatic maneuvers in the twin engine Aero Commander Shrike business aircraft. Included are loops, rolls and landings with one and both engines shut down. Mr. Hoover is recognized as one of the greatest airshow pilots of all time and is probably best remembered for his incredible exhibitions in the Aero Commander...
Somehow I totally missed it, but it looks like FSS now decided to make the 727-100s as well
Absolute nutjob! some skills though
Obviously I will have to try it out in sim 😆
Makes my one engine landings look tame af
Some pretty good sales on the .org store if anyone wants to pick up some cheap scenery
Okay I’m ready to spend some
I’ll be able to pick them up too xD
That seems awfully cheap too
Well tbf maybe with those hours not really
But well, an Il-76 is basically the ultimate transport plane, so I think it’s worth it
I prefer the Antonovs instead
They’re nice too, and of course lift more
But an Il-76 is much easier to land on some random shithole of a runway
Dirt? Easy. Gravel? Easy. Ice? Easy
todays flight is from heathrow to gibraltar
if anyone wants to track me on vatsim im BAW471
Is that the toliss

Ngl they are probably fucked for that price but nothing a bit of elbow grease can’t fix
weather when it does a troll
Not paying attention 🔥
Blackhawk is a fantastic freeware aircraft
Not quite the sophistication of the DCS one, but v good
☁️

There is coming a A340 by inibuilds if y'all didn't already know
Honestly was one of the most fun helicopters to fly in DCS, I hope the MSFS one does it justice
haven't flown the 772 in quite a while, so figured i'd get it out today
I suspect you will be disappointed but happy to be proven wrong
I imagine so too, but who knows
interesting flight ahead
korea hilly af
Try not to get shot down pls
Wish we had a Tu-204 in MSFS though, I’d be constantly flying hops between Pyongyang and Vladivostok
il62m :(((((((((((
(Or even better give me an Il-62 for that)
il62 is probably one of my all time fav retro planes
i love the looks and sound of it
Tu-204 just would be quite nice cause they still fly outside of Korea too
I’m pretty sure there even is one “in development”, but that’s like, really slow and unfrequent development that can be cancelled at any time as usually is with open source freeware projects
i can tell im flying in nk
theground textures r terrible and theres 0 houses anywhere lol
also since when does it have two runways
Makes sense
Uhh no idea
Tbf there is actually a Pyongyang scenery & airport enhancement out there iirc
What surprised me quite a bit though is that there actually are charts available for it
i too was suprised
i didnt think i would actually get a ils ffreq
i think my scenery is broken for it though
pity
it does have two runways loool
thats crazy
That I didn’t expect lol
Though tbh the airport most likely acts as an air force base too
yea it broken
Not surprised xD
👋
y
Wouldn't you get shot down if you were flying above ukraine then?
Maybe not on purpose
at least I still found a way to fly a dead airline
i forgot that its navigraph upgrade time
hm, the CSS 737 got its official paintkit last month
im still waiting for a BAW livery though
god fucking damn the new flightsim.to search function is GARBAGE
real
what did g'ole kim do to my plane
The Hughes 269 over Kodiak. Squirmy but fun and agile
Welp, just arrived back to Sheremetyevo after a holiday in Turkey
Weirdly there were 2 Il-62s and an Il-96 standing there, and those planes now never venture away from Vnukovo
Also we got parked at the freight apron, and I then got questioned more than usual on passport control. Guess I look suspicious today 😅
didnt they completely shut down sheremetyevo recently?
extra security might be related to that
Complete shutdowns are common by now
Any time there’s a drone attack, the traffic gets stopped
Although the last one was over a week ago, the day I left. All the flights to Antalya after the one I was on were either delayed for hours or cancelled, got lucky there
They did close both arrivals and departures yesterday too, but that was due to bad weather
Playing with boats
Welp I’m home
And while I was away a major thing happened
Alaska 727 liveries
So it’s finally time to go back where I started, back where I should be
Like glide plane or gliding with throttle in idle?
proper glider
Where are you flying?
Weren't this helicopters used for airport<->city center routes?
Or am I misremembering?
Ah no
Disregard
It was mainly known for providing a passenger service connecting Penzance to the Isles of Scilly, and for flights servicing North Sea oil and gas platforms.
I got confused with something else
Flying near PANC, just makes a change from the drab military liveries
Delivered the 727 to Alaska
This thingy decided on startup that engine 1 doesn't want to work, so staying true to myself, I just took off with only 2 & 3 running
MSFS crashed after I started descending on a flight from Moscow to Sochi 🥲
it has been so long since ive flown airbus
my throttle and stick dont work with my new desk so i have to go back to controller temporarily
of course KLAX is fucked up, i hit a lip in the runway and instantly skyrocketed to like 500ft
the fenix controls nicely with a controller at least, the only real issue is that the incremental throttle is too slow and the notched throttle is too quick
i dont know what i have to uninstall to fix KLAX
Planespotting 101: if you see an active 747, you must take a picture, no matter how bad the angle and how low the quality
Is that X-Plane or MSFS? I genuinely find it hard to tell the difference visually these days
I'd guess XP from the ground?
XP11
From Aerial Simulations:
Hello everyone
We’re excited to share the first renders of the cockpit for our upcoming 707-320C add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
These images showcase our recreation of a late model cockpit configuration that was installed in production Boeing 707s. Alongside this version, we’ll also be including the more iconic cockpit layout that has the fire handles mounted on the glareshield.
It has taken a little bit longer than originally planned but for good reason. We were able to laser scan a real cockpit, which provided us with highly detailed reference geometry. Our cockpit has been rebuilt to match the scan to make sure it is as accurate as possible.
With it already being July it not looking likely that we will be done before the end of the year, but from this point on system integration will be beginning.
Tried to forward the announcement from their server, got this
(Probably cause there was an everyone ping)
Happened me like 3-4 times lol
Sadly
Long away
Sob
Well, not too long
They initially planned for it to be done this year
With now that “not looking likely” I reckon it’s gonna be a couple months into 2026
And they only revealed the thing a year ago
So if you compare it to like the Bluebird 757, which I’m still not sure we’ll get this year either, well this doesn’t seem like too far away
Although I heard it’s 2024-only sadly
im departing out of cleveland, and i was so confused why they have a PFLYD1 departure
its because the rock and roll hall of fame is in cleveland
they also have a really cute matching pair of arrivals, "ROKNN3" and "ROLLN2"
heh, the points on the PFLYD departure are literally "wish you were here syd"
the northern departure waypoint is NNUMB
Oh, that's sweet
i love it when they theme SID/STARs to local things, pittsburgh and boston are the other few i can think of
and i think its either JFK or LGA that has FINEST or something as a departure, as in the NYPD
why is that? i think ive seen that before but i never made that connection
I don't know, it's very odd to me
also HOBTT and GNDLF
my first thought was ILM or lucasfilm or something, i dont know if they did all of those movies though, thats about the only connection i can come up with
Maybe because Georgia is now a big filming location? But neither star wars nor lord of the rings were filmed there
ILM is norcal iirc
apparently it's just because they wanted themed ones, and they chose star wars for no real reason
KMCO has some cool disney ones atleast
That’s nice
Fair enough I suppose, weird though
Well the 707 does look like they’re taking proper care of it, so I reckon it’ll be good
i find it sad that theres not alot of people doing older good planes
That’d be a godsend
Yep
So many ones to be done
And don’t get me started on “There are also eastern planes”
I honestly think the dc8 is more interesting than the 707, though I'll admittedly happily take either
Soviet airliners and transports are so cool, it's a shame they get so little attention
It would probably take ini like 6 months to produce an An-124, considering how much it would just reuse from the 225
Yep, I can wish my hands weren’t as useless as they are for creating anything… an Il-62 would be so cool
But we’re getting a Tu-154 at least so that’s already something
Proper airline proper livery
Tbh a DC-8 is more interesting, plus it was a better freighter than the 707
this is so true

Tbh I’d take a DC-8 if SkySim made one, considering they have the DC-9 it’s not too big of a stretch imo
On the topic of older planes, the fact we don’t have a 737-200 even on the horizon is criminal
Where’s my gravel kit and beautiful reversers
the flyjsim one is so dissapointing
Isn't blackbird doing it for msfs?
They are but tbh I don’t consider that
Oh why? I really liked it back in xp11
It was announced like several years ago and no further word on it at all
ive never been able to get VOR navigation working, its horrible
Oh weird
Plus I think they were only planning modern Nolinor-spec ones
Oh eww
So semi-glass cockpits, retrofitted VNAV/LNAV all that sort
it hunts the VOR radial really bad, itll overshoot, then correct, then overshoot the other way, then correct the other way, its not pleasant
And I don’t mind that being included, I like Nolinor, but I think that original condition should still be the priority
i love the cockpit style of the 737 classics, those displays are so iconic
the NG and max have too many screens
It's realistic
As far as I've been able to tell from old aviation forums
I just keep it in heading all the time and correct myself
eh, just might not be the aircraft for me then
feels like a house of cards, everything is extremely delicate and barely working

the ixeg 737 really does not like descending it seems
the altitude targets are all over the place, at one point it was commanding 6000fpm down, which is almost 10 degrees nose down
i still havent managed to kick off any of the speed from that, im at like 280kts at 5000ft
we got it figured out with plenty of time to get configured for landing thankfully
didnt even end up mattering anyway, i crashed
2G landing
i floated hard last time, so i wanted to not do that this time, and instead of getting a firmer landing, i smashed it into the runway
the ixeg 737 really also does not like slowing down, both times ive needed to take up the entire runway for a 737
i just hate landing in new york, the winds are always horrible, and then 22 at LGA is right on the water with no extra space whatsoever, so you always second-guess how your descent is going because you dont want to accidentally fall short
just how flight simming goes nowadays, spend 6 hours troubleshooting the sim, do the flight, mess up the landing so bad that you cant keep the flight, lose interest in flight sims for another few days
Well, troubleshooting for a while doesn’t really sound right to me tbh
As for losing interest after a crash, well oh well, that’s so real
After each of my crashes (in recent times there was only one thankfully) I promise I’ll write a full report on it, then abandon that and don’t touch MSFS for a week xD
After that last one, which was my Sterling 011D at Halifax, I only got back for another flight 14 days later. Delivered a FedEx 77F and got my best landing to date as the next one after a crash
this weekend i'll probably get MSFS up & running again
was meant to set up P3D aswell for the Concorde but for now the sim is just installed & nothing else
Oh yeah I found the IXEG a little bit awkward to land too
I noticed that tendency to float as well, although I've heard it's reasonable, and the real 737 is somewhat prone to it too
I think the way I ultimately "solved" that was to force myself to not flare myself too early, which is something I do very often unfortunately
I've no idea how I've picked up this terrible habit but I usually do the flare in kind of "two steps", I first reduce a bit of engine power (I usually halve my throttle amount) and start pulling very gently at about 50/80ft, and then at about 30 I do the "proper" flare (engine idle and arresting descent rate), which always pushes me towards long landings - fine most of the time, but not on the planes that like to float or on short runways
And yeah, doing that on the IXEG is a very bad idea - same for the MSFS just flight planes
At about 40/50ft, engines idle then just a little pull, and then just let ground effect do its thing
I usually idle the engines at 50 (or if I’m slightly fast, at 100 even) and only pull the nose slightly up below 30. Perfect? Nope. But I do get reasonable landing rates within the touchdown zone. Though at the same time, account for it being MSFS with its imperfect physics, maybe in other sims it won’t work
I only fly airliners very occasionally, but what I do with any aircraft I feel Im not that familiar with is set myself at my destination runway and handfly a few traffic patterns. It works for me, I have an average landing rate of 290 ish
Of course you can still do that, then do your flight and make a dogs dinner of the landing 😆
Oh yeah practice runs are important
Whenever I get a new plane I don’t know how to fly, I just do laps around an airport I’m familiar with
Whenever I want to try to fly to some challenging airport I’m unfamiliar with, I first do practice runs around it in a plane that I know well (usually it’s just a 738)
Like when I wanted to fly to Kai Tak, I first did several touch and gos there in a 738
Still haven’t done an actual flight to there cause the A310 scares me
It really doesn’t
I’ve found it’s best to slow then decend
For landing just drop the throttles to idle as you flare and you should butter pretty frequently
Cool vid from yesterday
London City is cool
It depends, slowing and then descending might help if you're really desperate, because of the way feet per minute and ground speed play with each other (you'll lose a certain amount of altitude descending at 3000ft/m at 200kt ground speed in less track miles comparing to descending the same amount at 3000ft/m at 300kta ground speed).
But unless your energy state is really hopeless , just increasing vertical speed and and letting the speed increase might be enough, simply due to the additional drag at higher speed
Welp, this is fun
Started a delivery from Paine to San Francisco
I forgot to switch to lbs in SimBrief
And I forgot that this plane is an American
So I input 18k as the flight plan said…
Slightly past Portland I get “Fuel quantity low”
Now trying to make Portland work, with under 3.5k lbs left total
I sometimes just do the gamer move & switch it from lbs to kg in the plane settings whenever I cba redoing the simbrief crap
Usually I just switch it in simbrief, takes one second, but today I totally forgot about it
Only realised when the warning popped up
And I could’ve just “refuelled” in-flight, PMDG planes allow that, but decided to actually land instead
Now on descent into San Francisco after refuelling at Portland
yeah
at is fucked
hes saying the next big release will have custom FMC, Flight Dynamics and the 78X
tbf the models are good
Still not enough dopamine
Assuming he's also watching Tiktok on his second monitor while having Instagram on his phone
mmmm tasty
IXEG
Today's delivery flight. This little guy is just a gulf away from joining the fleet.
Welcome to the city where apparently there is a house
Now these 2 screenshots I will not comment on
(The landing was -102fpm at 1.01G)
i have done so many approaches like that
for some reason i keep getting cabin pings, i cant figure out what's wrong
Spam the cabin ping button
The chief flight attendant will die
And no more pings
Keep spamming it until you hear the voice line
finally, he is dead
im guessing it might be something related to cabin comfort that i forgot to set, but everything is fine, temp, pressurization, utility bus
oh, for some reason i have a failed ground power connector
i dont know why the cabin would ask me to fix it though, especially after takeoff
wtf does "lifetime exclusive" mean
I expect it means it won't ve sold elsewhere
why does it have a "lifetime" in the first place
i dont want to buy a digital product with a "lifetime"
well that was mildly terrifiying
i managed to do a landing in the 757 with autothrottle on, for some reason my button command did nothing, and the throttles were locked, so i just landed it with the throttles on approach speed
it ended up being pretty good at least, -155 and 1.08G, i might have been a little bit uneven on the wheels but im not mad at all
wtf, the AT did disconect, but the throttles were stuck, testing after landing it seems like bumping the throttles up and then down unfreezes them
@rustic charm
Yeah
Well for now they’re just testing the demand I think
So if there is demand for more, they’ll do more
Once per month just means that you’ll take that flight one way, while the other way you’ll still have to get Air Koryo
But I have to say, this is very interesting to see anyway
I’m pretty sure it’s the first ever direct flight between Moscow and Pyongyang, it’s the first time North Korea gets traffic from a foreign airline, and I think it’s the first time a western airliner will go there too
Oh well, fair
I did think that might’ve been the case, just wasn’t sure
Gotta say the price is a bit steep, I haven’t checked specifically now, but usually Moscow - Vladivostok would be around 17k, and last time I checked Air Koryo their tickets from Vladivostok to Pyongyang were around $200, so 15k
Still the first time since the fall of the Soviet Union too, so it’s an interesting development nonetheless
I am quite surprised Nordwind were the ones to do it. Other airlines could follow, will have to see, but if someone told me beforehand that one airline would announce such a flight, I would’ve said it’s Rossiya
buttt youre probably paying the NK tax for being able to enter the country
i think all things considered its not TOO bad
Well when flying Air Koryo you should be doing that too technically
i too thought rossiya would do it first
Plus tbh, I expect taxes would be separate
but nordwind is a charter airline, isnt it?
You’ll most likely pay the tax when getting the visa
I think so
What the team has been up to this week and what to look forward to in the future!
I’m honestly still just waiting for more liveries to come out for it
Virpil doing entry level
Looks decent quality
There was a crash in Russia today, an An-24 went down after a goaround at Tynda airport
@untold finch might be interesting?
Yes it is
I still need to buy 2024 and get my simpit out of storage
It is, but I wanna move forward rather than reinstalling 2020 again
very fair
I doubt it will fly as well but I think it will have more to do long term
Plus making the mission hub user-expandable is a great move
Imagine this tying into some sort of career tracking thing
it is but i also think it needs a 'dynamic' factor in it where you dont have to wait for people to create missions
something like liberation in dcs where it was 'sorta' dynamic
it's planned but who knows how long until then
doing ASW will be funny
Welp
If someone asked me a year ago, I’d say this could never happen
But I bought the Fenix
Not just the 320, but the full bundle
I think I'm in love
(Don't pay attention to the livery, I'm not gonna take it to Paro just yet. It was just the first one in the selection menu out of the ones I downloaded)
Welp, got myself some freeware for Hamburg factory
Gonna deliver an A319 to Rossiya
Gonna use it to substitute all SSJ flights too
Rip Razbam modules
Don't see much point in playing a dcs without the dorito tbh
Pretty much removes any interest I previously had in the mig 29, both for moral reasons and because we'll be loosing it's best opponent
Okay I can confirm it now, I definitely am
This is how a plane for a simulator should be done
Fenix loading screen tips are the best I’ve seen
Literally every single dev provides some technical or historic data
Meanwhile Fenix: “Did you know that the name Airbus is a combination of words air and bus”
''The A321 is a major trunk road stretching from Henley to York Town near Camberley...''
Discord: https://discord.gg/Da4FNs5zJSJackal 11, 6/0/2+, 2*XT
Does anyone have any idea why my screens are that blurry?
XP11, Toliss A321
sorry, XP12
every day i am more and more glad that i didnt sink my money into the A-10C
the A-10A is fine for what it is, and im happy to say that i didnt give eagle dynamics over $100

i tried getting my airbus setup working with my new desk, but the desk clamps don't work, and the desk is too small to fit the throttles
i could try lowering the stick so it goes underneath my desk a little bit, but that would be really awkward imho
it didnt have LODs in 2020??????????????
reminder to clean out your liveries, deleting a shit ton of liveries ive never used on the A320 and ifly max 8, i saved like 150GB
Make sure you have FXAA off
The A10c is pretty fantastic. The attention to detail and the character
Doesn't FXAA make everything look sharper?
Not in XP, it makes gauges etc blurry
hues is launching their own install manager
if youve ever wanted ANOTHER install manager on your PC
that's better but still not fully fixed it
Fenix update is out
at least on the ground, im not seeing much difference as far as anything goes, the battery startup sounds different but thats about it
just great as usual tbh
the internal IAE sounds are a billion times better, its not even comparable with the old ones, they sound great
so far so good
like 30% of the changelog is 2024 exclusive, the other 70% is both sims
i am not interested at all in upgrading until SU3 is out with the local download function
nice, bounced 3 times
you ever get so angry that your legs and arms start to go numb
by all means the weather in NZAA is fine on the charts, 1900ft AGL ceiling, 50/20 wind with no gusts, just a strong headwind landing which is no biggie, but MSFS was like "nah, 300ftAGL ceiling and 50kt winds with gusts"
Experience the most immersive MH-60 Seahawk ever brought to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Developed by Miltech Simulations and Blackbird Simulations, this multi-role naval powerhouse comes to life with fully realized S, R, and T variants, each modeled with stunning detail, mission-specific equipment, and unprecedented realism.
Available July 31s...
goddamn
am i lookin forward to that
I actually like the streaming side of it
I would so like for msfs to have a reasonable heli fm, but still waiting
the only thing that would get me back into DCS is the C-130 tbh, and even that's on extremely shaky ground right now
that's more my speed, cargo but close enough to be shot at
We can only hope
I hope it‘s decent enough on that chopper
Well tbh, if the sim gives me 50 knots on approach in any direction, I just don’t land
Having it as a headwind is just too windshear-risky
Having it as a tailwind, well it’ll basically double the runway length you need to land
And if it’s coming slightly from the side, most likely it’ll exceed the allowed crosswind component
And in the 737 you can only guess if it actually does, but the Fenix actually breaks the wind down into headwind component and crosswind component
the last few flights, MSFS' live weather has been absolutely horrible
the flight before my last one was using celsius as fahrenheit for some reason, it said it was 20 degrees F in july
I am quite happy to “god mode” the weather so I can fly. I Just adjust the bit thats stopping me, whether its ceiling, viz or wind
im not against doing that, but then i cant use the weather from navigraph, i have to use the in-sim METAR, which is kind of annoying tbh
I just always use windy tbh
And it’s always rather close
Of course not exact, especially in places where weather changes quickly it might differ significantly because the METAR wasn’t updated yet
But usually the weather in msfs matches the one windy gives
the weather in NZ should be good today to give it another shot at least
Pretty much all of NZ right now is covered by rather heavy rain
So it’s very much possible you’ll have a low ceiling and high winds again
Another smol bus on delivery
This one is gonna have a unique home
It's cute
Today only going as far as Sharjah, Hamburg to Paro in one go is a bit too much for an A319
Welcome to Sharjah
What is SIMDATA?SIMDATA is an officially certified navigation database built on ARINC 424 standards and updated every 28 days.Used by real airlines, flight schools, and now available for X-Plane sim pilots. What’s Included in SIMDATA?• 16,600+ airports• 41,600+ runways• 115,000+ terminal procedures• SID/
Came across this. Lovely price point. Navdata only, but you can get charts anywhere
For XP users negates any need for navigraph
Welp, I’m going to Paro
Well...
I am about to do a stupid thing
Which means I'm about to land in Paro at night
Less than 30 minutes until I should be landing
Had to change the in-game time for landing because the runway simply didn’t have any lighting at all
A321 in its natural habitat...
Don't ask me how I ended up there, it was shit
And if anyone is actually curious how that happened, this is it
my favorite, 20FPS in the fenix
it might actually be NZA christchurch im realizing
the stupid camera momentum makes it impossible to move the camera in the cockpit, because it gets to the windows and lags, and then the momentum makes it skip completely vertically
so its like i can either look straight up or straight down
going to try the new A320 again, and if i cant land it i might need to buy a new monitor
I've found since the BFU that my performance has improved a bit
alot of people seem to report it performs way better too
mine has stayed the same
not that performance had been bad for me pre BFU
well impressed with how it feels flying though, I used to bin it off simply due it was not enjoyable to fly but post BFU its nice
2kts of headwind and 4kts of crosswind in auckland, if i cant land because MSFS live weather screws me, i might uninstall the sim
success, very good landing
believe it or not, i actually landed just short of the touchdown markers, more often than not i trend extremely late
im not a fan of how you can't fix chaseplane rotating the chase camera with the aircraft
trying to get photos of the aircraft just about to land look really weird because the camera is obviously tilted
WHY
im sitting on 25C right now
yet it does not exist
what the fuck????
i chose 25C as a spawn point just to see if it existed, and it put me on 25R
i just wanted to do a flight with the A350 to see what all the updates have done, yet both airports do not exist, RKSI and VHHH
Thank god I was not the only one who saw that
And went „wtf“
Quite a good idea if you wanted to show your support, Im all for it
This is just a feature of the webstore provider they use, i've seen this on loads of different webstores for various things
they probably just didn't think to turn it off
i'd say i have no idea why reddit is getting so angry about this, but it's reddit
Today we are thrilled to open pre-purchases for the newest, most advanced PC simulation ever made of the C-130J. Few aircraft have written themselves into aviation history as indelibly as the C-130. MOAB 💣
I wish I could still actually get excited for dcs
I’m not spending a penny on DCS until ED figures their shit out
Especially from the razbam situation too, it looks like they’re dead broke, I don’t want to be playing an online-only game by a company who is operating at a loss
The Rambam (fucking autocorrupt) RAZBAM situation really just utterly killed it for me, I love the dorito, and the mig-23 was the airplane I was looking forward to most in the sim. The cancelation of future products is bad enough, but the recent announcement that the m2k (along with the other razbam planes) will likely be removed from the game itself after the next major core update just sucks even the interest I had in planes not made by Razbam, for example the best counterpart to the upcoming fulcrum is the mirage, as all the other modules are either too early or too late to effectively match it
it sucks too, because a C-130 in DCS sounds insane
that is literally exactly what i like in military sims, im not a huge fan of combat jets, just the transport stuff that might get a little close to provide logistical support to the frontlines
i am no longer pre-ordering anything either
ESPECIALLY from ED after razbam
Oh shit I also just remembered the mig-19 was made by razbam, so that's the the f100's best matchup gone as well whenever that releases
i would sooner buy the captainscam C-130 and fly that
i concur
its a shame that about 12 years ago XP took a turn from military stuff to more civil aviation because back then the weapons system in XP10 was insane
I remember dropping a MOAB when i was about 10-11 on my dads PC with the virtava C130
C130 isn't ed
theyre the ones selling it, and theyre the ones who make the sim for it
But if you follow that reasoning you won't buy tsg products because you don't like dtg
strawman
I'm not wrong tho
DTG isn't at a risk of shutting down because theyre broke, and TSW isnt an online-only sim
if DTG goes under, you can still play TSW, just without dovetail live or whatever
if ED goes down, the activation servers go down, which makes the game a 200GB brick on your hard drive, and you're out several hundred dollars because you can't use any of the content that you paid for
yes, but as of right now, that hasnt passed, nor been implemented anywhere
- ED is in an extremely weird situation, it's impossible to say if SKG would even effect them
theyre russian developers with a swiss shell company
Thought the owner was nick grey?
And sidekick wags
Developers are just russian i believe tish had ED before his passing?
Either way i gave up on dcs with its complete buggery (Mind the pun) you need a super computer to run dcs
@trim harbor opinions on Lübeck airport getting regular flights again
I’m flying there on Monday
*tuesday
how the hell is
lubeck gettign flights
thats such a random ass airport
leipzig when :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
german gov took a major L with the taxes tbh
Yeah Ryanair is doing 4 flights a week
wtf bruh
I think it’s weird but cool?
Well no 4 a week to Stansted 2 to Malaga and Palma and there is somewhere else as well
Yeah but Bergerac gets like 3 flights a day
That’s literally a field
It’s the same as Orebro getting a daily summer flight to Stansted for some reason
The ground staff are stood around filming the plane as it comes in because they don’t get big jets
I can imagine it’s the same in LBC
interesting, you can pre-order the C-130J from ASC themselves
a significantly better option if you're dead set on having it i guess
Yeah, they learned from what happened to Razbam
Heatblur did the same with the Phantom
How is it?
How's the mh60?
Also PIE is on sale today to correspond with the release, and while I don't have pie, verticalsim is one the best couple airport devs for the sim
what flavor of pie
It's Florida, so key lime I suppose
fun fact: the shortest taxi at charles de gaulle is 3 hours and 45 minutes
also, the A350s landing gear is lower than you would expect
i mean, 1.07G is good enough of a landing to keep, the fpm was almost -500 though
no bounce either, interestingly enough
i landed it like a punted football landing in a muddy field
oh well, there's a reason why im playing MSFS and not out getting my real PPL
and my 5th transatlantic flight too
Thats so ED dont steal there money like razbam
it flies like a great imho, of couirse not dcs kind of amazing but good enough, i couldnt tell if there was vrs, i havent tried that out th us far
it's a significant step up from a uh60 mod we have for dcs
u can do alot of stuff with the mh60, albeit i havent tried the hellfires or torps yet
theres a 'fmc' sort of deal in it as well which includes autoflight (this also includes autohover)
the S&R functions are nice and work flawlessly, i bought the mission hub for it too which is an amazing tool may i say
it sounds great and looks great as well
nice, will definitely pick that up when i get back into flightsimming
u should get the mision hub with it so u can do ASW/SAR/firefighting etc
it also gives u quite a few ships / cruisers with it so u can do some ship ops
a niche little detail i enjoy is that it includes actual search patterns for sono ASW stuff
Fenix line up is actually nice to fly now. Would be wrong not flying a bit of Air 2000
Look abv
Also
I‘d recommend getting MH60 plus mission hub to get the most out of it
Ngl I really liked the way it handled even before the update
Well they could seen as we have an f35
So why not
And more important question why would you even give ED money?
Huh, I always wondered what it looked like inside
No idea 😭
But if they do make it it’s gonna be 24-only anyway…
Oh that's neat
