#Flight Sims (MSFS, P3D, X-Plane, DCS, FS98...)

I think the BAe146 should be higher up but it shows up as different aircraft types
"737" is that the iFly MAX?
Or the PMDG 737-700?
B73W, B37H or B38M š§

cool video
Theyre sending them out, haven't got mine yet
Oh
Seems I donāt have one yet either
But I kinda know what itāll say
Cause my first flight with Volanta was on 5th March 2024 xD
So out of my 98 flights, 87 were done in 2024
Never used volanta, is it a flight tracking/logbook kinda thing?
My map would be a mess of lines as I only ever fly in BC and Alaska
I think more than a quarter of my total flights are fully within Alaska lol
Also, were there any reviews on the DC-9 yet?
You know what @runic hare I'll give the Colimata another chance
I'll report back
couldn't resist
If I like it I'll buy it
thats a funny routing
seems a bit sketchy, thoughts?
y
i mean you're flying that route because you're expected to go sonic
sounds and stuff
i'd assume atleast
imo it looks fine considering it's concorde
seen from a perspective of you flying sonic it seems reasonable
Excellent, thanks š
Off to a good start... š
Supersonic
(Reheat was just for show, I 100% didn't need them), amazing Flight Model
Mach 2 at 51k
It's amazing, across all publications of Concorde that I've come across, 60.00ft / Mach2 is the ultimate goal that can be reached only in the most optimal circumstances, and granted I am doing a shorter flight compared to a transatlantic crossing, and granted I decided to not load the aircraft up (I have about 50% of max payload), but man...
I had to put literally 0 effort or brain power in this climb and cruise it still ended up perfectly
Flying the free Tu-144 in FSX feels more rewarding š«¤
Genuinely flying the 737-200 and 727 are more challenging.
Like, IIRC somewhere they say that they would alter the in cabin display to say "mach 2" even though they were going 1.9 something
I guess that's what happens when aerodynamic heating isn't a thing š¤·
Flight completed, it's not as bad as I remembered, still not good enough to be really enjoyable IMO, I'd rather fly the freeware Tu-144
I quite enjoyed the subsonic low speed handling, landing felt a bit "off" compared to what I've read about real landing technique but it could have been a skill issue on my part
I might do another flight now that I'm a little bit more familiar with it, then I'll decide wether or not to buy it
not too shabby
50 airports across 6 countries, 23 different regs. Didnāt think I had that many airports
I think that makes me the "gentlest lander" so far, which is pretty funny as I've definitely got some Tomcat landings in there
Got fed up with flight sim 2024 so Iāve reinstalled 2020 and all my addons
Oh wait, I looked at the wrong screenshot LOL
Donāt mind me having a dumb moment
Yeah I have no idea how you have it under 200
Mineās -296
Pretty proud of 232
means i'm not bottling it every flight
Well, currently actually -299
mines definitely padded by the pmdg flight model with the 737 lol
whenever I get to the 20-30ft mark the a320 would always drop out on me
Out of my 2025 flights, the majority are around -300. There is also that one Halifax landing in the 737: -97.85fpm at 0.97G
But
Iāve done one flight on 12th January
-1040
1.93G
185 knots
It was simply just a āI have to land NOWā situation, I was in a 727 with no fuel even for a goaround xD
I think so far I'm the only person with more flights than hours
The power of Virpil controls š
Iām not sure if your math is mathing right mate
Your screenshot says 225 flights, 241 hours
Itās not surprising that I have way more hours than flights
I like a good medium haul route
Uh I'm dumb
I meant
That they were that close
(this is what happens when I try to multitask)
Iām trying to think, would Antalya - TromsĆø be considered medium haul?
In my eyes it wouldnāt be
But EASA regs say it is
When I just started out I actually had more flights than hours. I would normally do 20-30 minute hops. Now Iām much more out there in long haul
5h 30 min
Iād call everything 4-6 medium haul
Earlier Iād say everything 4-8 is, but Moscow to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is 7:40 and it is not medium for sure, itās like a third of the world
For flight hours and Max FFP itās over 5 is medium
the tu is so good
i love it
i need it for xp12
:(
Need the creations of Andrey Nikolayevich in MSFS
real
flaring at 45 degrees and making an immediate 90 degree turn straight to the gate, no taxi
Oh for the love of god
Uh what
https://www.justflight.com/articles/just-flight-avro-vulcan-msfs-2024-compatibility-update
One of the best planes released for flight simming in the past 5 years imo
Can't it also drop bombs?
I stg every day something bad happens to me
Like Iām cursed
Seriously
This isnāt even physically possible and yet it happened
If you see me operating your flight with Ryanair, offload yourself because shits about to go down ššš
I think I actually have never flown with Ryanair
Did 1 on EasyJet long ago iirc, 2 flights on Wizz too a couple years back, but none on Ryanair
scotland is getting hammered with traffic
I wonder if Scottish ATCs have background bagpipe music
its really good
SU1 beta came out for 24 today too and apparently the 77w works in it
Jem finally able to play something that isnāt an A320?!?!
Nah fuck 2024 I've been using 2020 still for months
well fuck 2024 till it actually gets updated and fixed
Fair
I really want the beluga and C-17, but i hate 2024 even more
under $10USD too
i just wish that you could use orbs to get discounts, that would definitely push me over to get it
why do you have the poo role
& I ended up buying it, think the asking price is completely fair
i dont even know anymore
it comes and goes
100%, im just broke rn
Wait you got it again? That stupid bot istg
Are you talking about Freddy or some other bot?
Speaking of I haven't seen him in a while
A nice and relaxing cruise over Greenland
when i file for bankruptcy, simulator DLC will be the #1 cause š„²
i love the tiny detail of how the BAW audio pack has the stick shakers on startup
I cite further evidence
wtf is this
What the actual fuck
that BAW soundpack makes the PMDG 737 feel like a brand new aircraft
@runic hare tried the colimata again with this mod

and it's so much better
I had to DM the guy to get the XP11 version of the mod
I might actually end up buying it
awee manneee
Yeah I don't have any of the premium stuff
it's still a big upgrade from the stock plane
I think so as well
but not going to pay, I can't live with the idea that Colimata drops a random update that breaks this mod and then it'd be wasted money
The FE panel on PMDGās 741 was shown
Of course itās WIP but imo it looks just too clean. And consider itās PMDG, I wonāt be surprised if they keep it so
I'm not overly interested in the 747
I can't really explain why
At first I would have said it doesn't really satisfy my interesed for niche and weird aircraft, but I'd love a DC-9 and the 737-200 was one of my most flown aircraft last year, so I don't know, perhaps I'm not aware of any interesting flights to do with it š¤·
Honestly Iām very interested in a 747 classic, but Iām more interested in JustFlightās version
Though overall, in the list of classic aircraft I want, the 747 would rank rather low
The 732 crowns the list. It is just everywhere. Plus gravel? Hell yeah
L-1011 is a strong second. That thing was good
Also I just donāt entirely trust PMDG to do it
Didn't JF sell their project and everything they did so far to PMDG?
Did I misunderstand everything?
I havenāt heard anything of that š¤
Hm, I definitely remember people talking about that when it was first announced
but I don't remember the details tbh
might have just been rumours š¤·
It probably was just rumours
Especially considering that JF were doing a -200
And PMDG initially only said about -100
Anyone ordered a screenshot dump? I finally stopped being awfully lazy and now I finally have the screenshots from my several latest trips on my phone so I can post them xD
Starting with a TUI 737 delivery (KRNT - KBFI - CYHZ - EGKK), although interestingly I havenāt taken a single screenshot on the last leg, so only up to Halifax here
Then a Canadian North 737 delivery (KRNT - KBFI - CYEG) where I went around 2 times trying to land in Boeing Fieldā¦
Ngl Renton is just lovely, so is Boeing Field
One of the next sales I sure as hell need to get Paine so I can deliver triples nicely
TUI!
Yep indeed
Well technically TOM since itās the British one
Just prepared the plane for a group flight Iām planning to do with a friend in some time
My wallet is looking at this knowing it won't get emptied
tomjet ops down to the canaries is so fun in the summer months
makes sense why we're seeing the 741 before 744/8
I assume thatās not even something new but just something I missed completely
What is that routing
no direct flights between two of the biggest bases on the ryanair network
because why would there be
Makes total sense, yeahā¦
i dont know why, but ive been getting some severe lag spikes in MSFS recently, especially on approach
never got any of that before, just started recently
sunny and bright hawaiian day

fuck, i forgot that was today, i wanted to get up early and watch that
"camera with real physics"?
like, does it replace the cockpit camera as well?
Yeah
very cool, definitely going to be a day 1 buy for me
especially if it gives you more flexibility on the look of the cockpit camera
I used it in the p3d days and it was so handy
who remembers ezdok tho
huh, the headwind A330 got a MASSIVE update
a completely new cockpit
its no longer just the A320neo cockpit with the weird dash additions
fully 3d, custom from front to back
it just sucks that its the 900neo of all aircraft, like 5 airlines actually fly it
delter
the best part of new york is leaving it
and going as far away from it as possible, like seattle
It breaking on flights over 4h
Idk why but whenever I set it up it wouldnāt account for the earths rotation so I would somehow start in the captains seat and end up in the FOās chair
Would have to completely reset it
When I got XP10 I remember going āWOW THIS SHITS BUILT IN!?!?!?!ā
I had to really harangle to get MSFS cameras to work sometimes
Still think XP does it best
Same with Simcoders Headshake I went āFUCK THIS SHITS FREE?!?!?!ā
MSFS in VR is on another level, but after like 20 mins, it just makes me motion sick and gives me a headache
at the end of the day its kind of just another gimmick, i cant see replacing good old monitors with a VR headset
Honestly though them 3 airports have some fire arrivals
Ehhhhhh
Not really
LGA river visual is the only one that comes to mind as being sick
KEWR stadium visual is cool too
Thank god Azzura for some reason had 1 BAe146 for one year (that onl god knows why they decided to paint) among all the RJs
AAL 5342 from Kansas, CRJ-700
Mid-air collision with a US army Blackhawk helicopter
Well, fuck
DCA has officially become my absolute least favorite airport (unrelated to recent events)
the RNAV arrivals into it are fucking beyond insane
maybe in like a prop plane??? not in an A321
the final is like a quarter mile
it says its a 3.16deg glideslope, which is absolutely a lie, i was WAY under the PAPI the entire approach
and if you deviate off of the approach, you get shot down for violating DC airspace
i had to do a go-around, but i just elected to cancel the flight, im not going to attempt that again
you might as well just go to dulles, landing is a quadrillion times easier
It's so much fun though
The river visual is great, the mount Vernon visual or ils 1 circle to land 33 is also super fun
Not easy at all but a really fun challenge for if you've truly become competent with an aircraft
not easy and not fun
Try it with a AN225
I suppose it's not for everyone, but at least to me they're very fun challenges
Same
On a flight not too long ago was going visual for runway 1 (BATC as always cleared me for a visual at night) and it was really fun actually
2 goarounds, but tbh the first one was entirely due to my inability to handle crosswinds. The second one was called for by BATC
PAPIs and glideslopes donāt always align either
river visual is bang
i dont find it hard either really
My 100th done. 8:19 from Moscow to Bangkok, actually among the faster times on this route
damn, you beat me by 8 flights
Welp, the tiny hops in Alaska boost the flight count xD
Back in the 737 now.
TOM7VG: EGKK (Gatwick) to LOWI (Innsbruck)
second ever flight with the A321
I shouldāve done a 727 delivery to Eastern today⦠turns out just 61 years ago that plane had its first service flight. Wish I knew it in the morning
hong kong, here i come
Kai tak or the other one?
VHHH
I can't ICAO so much but i suppose that's the modern era airport
i wouldnt dare flying on vatsim, especially during an event, but i thought it would be fun to at least play along
Yeah, VHHH is the new one
Well
Actually
Itās both
navigraph doesnt have charts for kai tak
The modern one, Chep Lap Kok International Airport, is HKG/VHHH
And Kai Tak⦠it also is HKG/VHHH
But Iām pretty sure on Volanta it is written as VHHX in order to distinguish it from the other one
it technically was VHHX when they were testing the ILS for the new chep lap kok
Oh, thatās why
also X is usually an identifier used for airports that are closed
Templehof was EDDX for the few months after it was closed
Kai Takās closure is sad
The end of an era really
Those landings were something else
It was really cool how they closed Kai Tak and opened Chep Lap Kok on one day though
Really quite impressive
BER really puts into perspective how impressive that is
(or maybe the other way around?)
i completely forgot about the cake thing lmao
I mean with BER they moved everything from tegel in one night
It was just 10 years late⦠ššš
I still think to this day they should have kept the old SXF terminal as a Ryanair terminal
Even if we are closing our base there

I want MiG-23 š
on that channel there are a few very interesting video
that guy is one of the US Pilots that flew the Flogger in Constant Peg
I know. It's just so frustrating
FD at night is gooooood
Erm, actually that's not a flight simulator āļøš¤
Nah itās MSFS 2025
Orbs are their rewards points
https://orbxdirect.com/orbs they have an orb shop
Use your earned Orbs to redeem products!
I know I know
But why the hell does shit like that expire
Actual bs
Quite a few places do that tbh
Only issue I see is that they're making all from 2023 expire at the same time
As my april and september ones all expire the same day
Yeah, I just got the same thing
A flight I did yesterday. Anyone wanna try to guess the origin and the destination? I will post the pics of those later. Hint: the flight was 5 hours long
heathrow moscow?
altho that might be more like 3-4hours
That would be around 5 hours I think, but I wouldāve done that in a triple xD
And I gotta say, youāre slightly in the wrong hemisphere lol
Are Aeroflot even allowed to fly into the EU?
Well, most of the European countries banned them from their airspace temporarily
historically tho
Doesnāt mean Aeroflot didnāt fly there before
dubai moscow then
Nope, still the wrong hemisphere xD
And more than 5 hours?
somewhere alaska?
Plus Dubai to Moscow is actually 6 hours, and I wouldnāt use a 737 either lol
Lotta fires in florida lol
takeoff time
this is america
Nice
This is all part of a delivery of this 737. Of course itās not entirely correct, I have no idea what route they actually delivered it over, Halifax is just my go to for transatlantic deliveries. Also the registration isnāt accurate, when it was delivered it would be VP-BRF
Also this was Aeroflotās first 737 NG
Idk whatās my luck with that
I chose a random Aeroflot 737 to fly - it turned out to be the oldest one they have
I again then chose a random BA 77W to fly - again, it was the oldest one they have

Proper stick and rudder flying
something broke with the ifly max 8 vnav
i struggled to hold altitudes on departure (it overshot both 8000 and 11000 by 400ft+), and then now im getting airspeed warnings on descent while its also struggling to keep up with the vnav path
its also just more laggy than usual ive noticed
it is REALLY struggling on approach right now
never flying the ifly again
landed really smoothly, but for some reason it was pulling left EXTREMELY hard, i tried going around once i went off of the runway and tailstruck
i also went around with my reversers open somehow
it wasnt even a hard landing, -323 at 1.02g
i think the autopilot was still trimming the rudder for the wind somehow???
even though i disconnected AP and had been firmly touched down with reversers and autobrakes deployed

Please note things showcased are not final, and are...
Oh hell yeah
Thatās what people should be flying for CTL
Not a shitty A380 or A32x
Proper aircraft
LGA7 Whitestone climb
I missed flying in the US
Also the Flight Model of both the FJS 732 and 727 is just sooooooooo good
probably one of the very very few planes outside of DCS that I could just aimlessly fly for a bit just for the joy of flying them
don't get me wrong, i enjoy flying the Tu-134, 154 and a lot of other planes, but there's just something about their 73 and 72 that just sets them apart for some reason
I really gotta wash my plane lol

Windy Flight Back to Gatwick from Innsbruck
jackson's hole
I remember flying in there
Did it with the 727
On the first attempt I ran out of fuel and crashed in the mountains northeast of the airport
No problem at all mate, ask anytime
Meanwhile I just opened instagram and I think I know where Iām gonna be flying tomorrow š
i fucked up departure pretty bad because i havent flown in almost a full week
its also the first time i tried a flaps 3 takeoff, so i was getting yelled at about my airspeed the entire time because i didnt know what i was doing
just airspeed low rather than stall, so i was able to continue

Yeah no
FAA lore
Now donāt get me wrong
But the name āGulf of Americaā suits it more
Cause the whole continent is called that
while i agree with this reasoning, it is not because of the continent that it got changed
The Mexican shore is only some half of it, the shore belonging to the USA is only some half of it. āGulf of the USAā wouldnāt work. But Gulf of America does. Although what would make even more sense is āGulf of North Americaā
Oh yeah that I know
the intention behind it is the big issue
im going to be honest, i didnt even know the meaning of NOTAM had even changed in the first place, ive always been calling it notice to airmen
Wait, is NOTAM not?
joe biden changed it to "notice to air missions"
its because "airmen" has "men" in it, and "air missions" is gender-neutral
which, i dont mean to stir the pot, is silly to change it over that
I donāt think youād be stirring the pot with that, itās just so nitpicky at that point

Welcome to post-2022 Russia
How many hours does it increase if i may ask?

TUI from Innsbruck to Gatwick?
Itās funny I did that same flight with the exact same livery yesterday
I did the first leg a while ago, made myself a makeshift circle to land lol
Was following the valley for 08, then just went past the field according to the visual approach chart and landed 26
Also planning to do the TUI Gatwick - Innsbruck - Gatwick rotation with a friend on Saturday, real time as with the flight in reality
Most of the time I fly without a schedule xD
And sometimes I even swap out planes
Yesterday did Moscow to Kaliningrad in an Aeroflot 77W
Kaliningrad in reality has never accepted 77Ws
The biggest it took was the A330-200/767-300/Il-96, and those are 15-20 metres shorter than the 77W. And even those require special ground navigation within the airport, with only a few taxiways being allowed
Now needless to say I didnāt do any research beforehand so this came as a bit of a surprise
Had to go on the grass to turn around. Although to be fair, thatās a poor job on MSFS end, cause in reality the paved area is much bigger and is absolutely enough to turn a 77W around
Can't you just slew otherwise?
Slew?
Slew mode
Never used it
vortices
Nice
greased it
Nicely done
Mine was somewhere around 1.15G touchdown iirc
In my defence⦠uh, there was a crosswind, and⦠yeah
most of the time i'll go by an airlines schedule on flight radar 24, this was specific flight was a max but I wanted to hear the boris sounds
Most of the time I do real routes, also majority of the time real planes, but not real times
Maybe if I went into FS by starting with Aeroflotās short hauls, I wouldāve stuck with real times too. But I started with Alaska. And AK is exactly -12 hours from me, so flying any milk run would mean going for no sleep at all xD
I find doing exactly real times quite stressful but fun sometimes
its cool seeing the aircraft on fr24 at the same time but it also limits a lot ig
Oh itās fun
In fact my friend Iām flying with on Saturday only does that
Resulting in sleepless nights and stuff
But all his flights are real route, real plane (not the exact registration of course, itās hard to predict, but the same type) and real time
And he only flies out of airports on planes he has in those airports. If he doesnāt, he will first deliver those planes or do other flights that would get the plane to the correct spot if itās already delivered
Last autumn I was flying from Moscow to Bali with a layover in Bangkok. He did a 10-hour flight to deliver an Aeroflot 777. Then he delivered an AirAsia 320 by going 7 hours Toulouse - Sharjah and the next day 6 hours Sharjah - Suvarnabhumi (he messed it up and delivered it to the wrong Bangkok airport xD) And then real time he did 9 hours of Moscow - Bangkok overnight and less than a day later an additional 5 hours of Bangkok - Denpasar. I gotta say, I would not be able to do any of that lol
Donāt think Iāve actually had any overnights myself
But well, out of all my flights, only 3 were over 8 hours
those are still my longest
and I remember for IRM102 about halfway I already lost all my will to live
for JCI because I was trying to fix the plane while enroute it was more fun
I did it with the Xplane IL-76 and that was a BIG mistake, should have used the FSX one
My longest one was 11:49 xD
while enroute I adjusted some autopilot values so that I wouldn't actually need to monitor it every second and then before landing I had to disconnect from vatsim for about 30/40 seconds to reload the plane
A full haul Moscow to Denpasar, almost 5800 miles
Yeah, only way you'll get me to do this kinds of distances is with the Tu-144 or CONC
To be fair I was home only a fraction of that time xD
yeah but that's the thing I don't really get, I know some friends of mine leave the sim going when they're home and working in their PC so at least from time to time they change view and make sure everything goes well
but otherwise I can't really justify it to myself
but of course lots of people do it, and it's not a big deal, do whatever makes you happy š
Yeah itās fair
Everyone has an own play style, and frankly I donāt judge anyoneās
Apart from the people who take the A380 and fly it to the dumbest of places like JUNEAU WHY THE HELL
its a slight sense of accomplishment?
If you weren't there for most of it, how is it different from a 30 minute flight?
it doesn't feel different to me
flying a heavy
on a heavy route
I like doing stuff like this
if you like it that's nice, I don't judge
yeah
it is a bit of a timewaste if your just sat watching the screen
if your not then its fun
takeoff
do work
come home
land
I find it just as nice flying the MD11F between EDDF and LIMC compared to LIMC to somewhere in South America
the lenght of the flight contributes very little to how satisfied I am
even after that 5 hours flight I did with the IL-76 I didn't feel any differently compared to many of my 30/40 minutes flights
As I said, if you work on your PC and it serves as a screen saver or something to occupy you if you have a dull moment (even just chaning views and stuff like that) I get it
but if you're not even paying the slightest amount of attention to it for me it's not any different than the flight not happening at all
once I mismanaged my time and had to leave a plane going on its own (and even had to set Pause at TOD) and when I got back I barely had any will to finish the flight š«¤
I did, but to this day it was one of my worst experiences tbh
its nice to take off
leave
and then land
if you don't have that much time that day
or your doing stuff in the afternoon
then you come home and you land
its the same with overnights
I like to wake up and have to prep for landing
I find that really "hollow" might as well, leave, shut down the PC and then spawn in the air the following day/afternoon š¤·
but you didn't thats the thing
Yeah but nothing you did contributed to that
the AP was flying, and you weren't even making sure it wasn't doing anything crazy
if anything it takes even less effort then to go away and then spawn in the air š
If you find that satisfying I'm happy, I just can't see it that way myself
i have some very good speakers and when you hear the AP disconnect it will wake you and everyone in your postcode up
if its not your thing its not your thing
I still quite like it
hm, main thread is the reason why ive been getting extremely bad stutters
thats killed my last few flights, ive never had any issues with it before, but now im getting massive spikes that make it extremely difficult to land
its happening in cruise and stuff too, not just landing, but especially landing
awesome, huge lagspike, the fenix almost literally nosedived, and now my flight is fucked
almost nosedived earlier in the flight too, but it was almost like the wind was blowing it around like it was paper, i was getting 60 while it was happening
i uninstalled the last few mods i installed into MSFS, hopefully one of those was causing the microstutters
i didnt get anything on my flight into hong kong, so it was anything during or after that
@trim harbor what u think of the FF777 Engine Packs?
Because there has been uproar about them
I donāt really get why
Itās not like flight factor are making a shitty product and then adding a very expensive product on top of that
some Scandinavian people?
Flight sim awards are a joke
Best airliner for MSFS is literally this with the PMDG 777 vs everybody else
Their competition is literally the TFDi MD-11 and the FSS 727
How is the FSS 727 even in the same league? š
like, it's decent but...
come on
they haven't even released the pax variant
And tbf, the thing has bugs
Not having airspeed is very annoying
If you wanna fly fully realistically, that bug basically means āWeāre going back to the gateā. If you donāt look at regulations too much or ignore certain issues like me, you rotate and pray that airspeed gauge cones alive before itās time to land. Oh and really gotta work with alternative autopilot modes, IAS hold is the only way you can climb more or less safely, vertical speed will almost certainly cause you to stall
Oh interesting
in the 737-200 (xplane) I only climb in IAS below 250kts
once I go above 10k I revert to just pitch hold to maintain 280kts and then let the speed slowly drop while maintaining M.65/.7
I pretty much everywhere just go vertical speed lol
Both for climb and for the descent
On the 737/777 the climb is mostly just VNAV, but the descent is still always in vspeed
i voted for the MD-11, but compared to the 777 its nothing, you cant even do holds in the md-11 yet
honestly id put the md11 last on that list
I think right at launch it would only do one lap and then it would exit
but I seem to remember to see that on a changelog some time ago
if fenix was a new aircraft it would definitely be a winner but i think pmdg or ifly deserve it the most
I think I'd rather vote the iFly than the PMDG
havent tried it yet so i dont know how good it is but it looked nice
the TFDi has a terrible, maddog-level 3d model, fortunately I don't care š
Best Airliner flight model in MSFS
by far
One of the very few planes that is really enjoyable to hand fly in MSFS, not as good as the FlyJSim birds on Xplane, but it's the closest you can get in MSFS
the JustFlight planes are decent, but they feel quite same-y
been saving for it but a350 is releasing and i already have the 738 so ill have to wait a bit before i get it
sounds great though
The A350 is gonna be nice but mf that price is steep as fuck
I want the A350 but not sure if it will work in career mode or not
inconclusive, it seems better, but im still getting some very, very minor spikes that have me concerned that i didnt fix it
and the PMDG 737 just performs better than the fenix, so it could just be that
i uninstalled the freeware VHHH, and another mod that i thought might be causing it is the A330 engine animation and retexture mod that came out the other day
I don't want the A350
welp
i thought i would have gotten back home before top of descent but i guess not
thankfully it wasnt that long of a flight anyway, so even though i missed it i can just redo it
it kind of sucks, i really do enjoy flying the FSS e-jets, but the experience is so railroaded that it almost destroys any fun
if something goes wrong, might as well just throw out the flight
they did fix one of the biggest and silliest bugs atleast, the cabin door not closing once the batteries are turned on
taxi feels a bit better too, before it would take off like an F1 car once your brakes were released on idle, though i guess that might not be entirely unrealistic considering its size, weight, and engines
Apparently the custom FMS isnāt far out too, they said they would have a working public demo at FSweekend, and if that goes good, a public release shortly after
Is MSFS 2024 still as bad as when it was released?
So still a no-buy for now?
For me, yes
Same here, 2024 just doesnāt seem worth it
Plus as of yet only a handful of planes are available
Ok, I see, thanks. I was just wondering about the state of the game as I haven“t been too much involved in the flight simming news loop, lately.
They only did 3 hotfixes (the third was mostly to fix the second), and now people are waiting for SIM Update 1
Which shouldn't be too far away
ewrES
whoops
retarded
while i do understand it
i also didnt get why pmdg did it w their 200ER for p3d
depends on th eprice
$10 is okay
i wouldnt really buy it myself as idrc but still
tbf im happy that PMDG just does the variants seperately instead of base packs & shi
I bought the 200ER/LR shit & I never flew the latter & I don't think a shiny new sim is gonna change that
Itās 20 I think when everything is done
But I mean
Itās like 20 different engine variations
Separate variants model is only beneficial if you want just a specific variant
If you want all the planes, base pack + expansions would mostly be cheaper
At least with PMDGās 737s it was
so they were saying:
- Individual models -200ER/-200LR/-F/-300/-300ER (each one comes with one type of engine)
- "Global Pack" with all of them and the engine expansion
thats how they are gonna sell them
they also mentioned no -300 maybe
Tbh I donāt think that sounds too bad
but its kinda shitty
because currently the -200ER is running with GE90's and the RR/PW engines are part of the expansion
and the GE90's are what you get as the base engine for the 200ER
even tho it should be the RR
Well yeah, only having GEs on the 200ER isnāt too nice
well if you don't buy the expansion
Well yea, but imo, engines shouldnāt need expansions. Well, depends on the price they charge for the plane itself, but if it isnāt cheap, then the engines should be part of the base plane
so if you only want the 200ER with RR engines you need to buy the -200ER and then the engine expansion so about 110usd
Especially if youāre locking really popular engines, thatās not nice. I get something niche that would barely be seen, but thatās not the case
Yeah, tad bit much tbh
but if you want all of them then you get 20 different fully custom engine models with all off the different perf specs
exactly
I think thats why people were shitting on it so much
so for release and until the -300 is out its gonna be 10usd for the engine expansion
Welcome to the A350 Airliner: Showcase Stream 2! In this session we are joined by Cameron (Lead Technical Developer) and Mike (Head of Production), on a beta version of the aircraft. Get an understanding of the extreme detail on offer complemented by real world pilot insight on the A350!
Please note things showcased are not final, and are subje...
This made me realise how few airlines Iāve flown
Just 17, and like, Iāve not even done a single Lufthansa flight
why do planes do this
my worst landing to-date
needless to say im not keeping this flight
lag spikes right as i was landing meant i couldnt flare, but i was able to throttle off
This is what my average Fenix landing looks like
When you can land a Tu-154 better than an A320 xD
Oh much better, it's not even a competition
It's just the combination of the weird FBW behaviour and the fact I fly it once or twice every 3 months
That thing is a butter machine I stg
Itās so easy to fly down to final
Totally forgot the TAT schedule with this thing was available, I'll fly with the yellow one next
such a cute plane
We love exhaust blown elevators ššš
The green one is the better livery
Or the luftwaffe one
Thatās nice
That's why I'll fly the yellow one
You might not like it, but this is what peak aircraft design looks like
It is certainly interesting
I will have to say though in my opinion peak aircraft design looks slightly differently
ahah it was a joke
I do genuinely think that given their objective it was very ingenious and it made sense, but yeah...
vfw 614s are so cute
Iām gonna actually try and do some flying today
Havenāt done anything not GA since the 8th
Hold on is this livery accurate?
Because my shitty understanding of how aircraft registrations work thatās not allowed
Oh apparently it is
Yes I think so
I think some of them were leased so TAT could ""try"" them
IIRC
Yellow one was D-BABG
I think the only ones that ended up with a different reg were the Cimber ones (which got OY-xxx), and one that was given an US registration (N614GB), I think they had plans for it to be privately owned/used in the US, but it never happened
oh, and of course, the Air Alsace planes got a proper French reg
EXS90VG LPMA-EGKK
from like 2 weeks ago when I actually bothered with doing custom routes
ran out of fun shit to do so Honolulu to Las Vegas
A flight from a bit ago, Moscow to Kaliningrad. Finally bothered to get the screenshots onto my phone so I can post them
Lovely approach, the arc takes you right over the centre of the city
Also these from yesterdayās flight, HTZA to HAAB. Not many screenshots cause it was dark and I couldnāt see anything
And this is from almost 7 hours ago, when I departed on my current flight. A 737 from Halifax to Moscow. Quite a journey. I pushed back before sunrise, have already passed sunset and still have around an hour to go
Actually around 2 hours
Welp, 100 miles to the top of descent
climbout from riyadh
mmm MD11, haven't flown that in forever
Virgin
You never forget your first supersonic run.
On January 28, 2025, XB-1 made aviation history as the first civil supersonic jet made in America to break the sound barrier. See highlights of XB-1ās first supersonic run at the Mojave Air & Space Port.
How many crashes has occurred this year by now?
i believe this is either 8 or 9
4th or 5th fatal i believe
all hull losses except 1
This year? I donāt think we had that many
As for airliner crashes, there have been 2 as far as I know - the Delta crash in Toronto and the KDCA collision. Plus there were several other deadly accidents that were not airliners
BX391
The oilfield crash in Sudan
AA5342
MTS056
BRG445
EDV4819
3 in the US, 1 in Canada, Sudan and Korea
I think the main thing thatās happened is that itās all related to America
Thatās why itās so surprising
America usually doesnāt have issues like this
Plus that one in Alaska
That didnāt even get any attention at all here, even though it was 10 people on board
BRG445
That was the one in Alaska
I think the lack of CRMS in America is really showing
There was another one in Korea?
Not crashes, but some extremely serious ground incidents too, that one fatality from a bizjet collision on the ground in Arizona, and that JAL Dreamliner slicing a delta 737s vertical stabilizer
Honestly, I think itās just extreme stress catching up to people globally, exponentially sped up by a certain countries president rapidly signing executive orders that have a broad and extensive global geopolitical and economic impact
ESPECIALLY in the US, if you arenāt stressed to the point of crashing out, then you arenāt a living human being
Living here is becoming actively hostile and only rapidly getting worse, it doesnāt matter if youāre a private pilot, airline pilot, controller, military pilot, everybody is at their limit mentally right now
Both right and left too, no matter your political affiliation
That plays a factor but another way to look at it is the fact that North America in general is a much less safer place to fly compared to Europe. You get mental weather and airport procedures that havenāt been changed since the 90ās. Stuff like apron and pushbacks not being controlled at some fields is crazy but itās SOP for a lot of places still.
True, itās like death by 1,000 cuts, itās not one single factor but just a ton of tiny ones that are adding up to fatal consequences
With cuts and stress being pushed on the US aviation sector and the FAA by the oranje man this really doesnāt ease it
I mean shit even at shorehan a GA airport down on the south coast you need tower permission to even start your engine
And you have 330ās in America that can push without anyoneās permission
Thatās crazy
Itās like the railroad industry, everybody says that itās a ticking time bomb, when - not if - itāll catastrophically fail
I want to note as well. Over in Europe we have incidents as well, but no where near as bad as whatās currently happening in America. I think it doesnāt help as well that you guys put everything on CNN or whatever
Like you get slide deployments on the news
We have had 2 already this year at Stansted alone
Donāt even get me started, ever since the East Palestine explosion, if an axle derails on a railcar in a yard it becomes state-level news
The media hyper-focuses on topics (like the aviation issues right now) which makes it seem way worse than it actually is
In the next month or so, weāll probably forget this weird phase of air disasters even happened because the news would have moved on
I donāt think it will honestly. I think these incidents are gonna keep happening
3 major incidents in a month and a half
This stuff is gonna keep happening I think
The FAA needs to take some pages out of EASAs book
Idk, part of me thinks that thereās definitely going to be more major crashes like this and that this is completely off the rails, but the other part of me thinks that most of this is blown out of proportion
So as someone who works on planes all day. This shit aināt normal
Every single incident in the US can be attributed to human error
None are mechanical issues
Well
Technically the bering air accident was
But in the end they made errors
I was going to say, Iām just not sure if these numbers so far were a normal thing or not from a laymanās perspective
So North America will naturally have more incidents because of the weather
But this is far above average
Even the amount of light aircraft crashing has gone up
CRMS not being mandated anymore in training doesnāt help
In fact I think this is the single stupidest thing thatās happened
Almost every incident can be attributed to it
Hereās a funny statistic, so far, on average, in the US, 2.8 people have died per day from plane crashes since Trump took office
Thatās definitely true, but it is just funny timing how it all happened, as soon as he gets elected this all starts
I donāt think all of this is his fault I think itās just the lackluster procedures and outdated protocols that have been the same since the 90ās
But
The stress from it all is absolutely a factor though
His cuts are gonna permanently damage the FAA
I hate to say it but itās everything
Even Boeing
Shocking
This is also quite funny
We have the old ACPās on the non BSI aircraft and they are solid chunks of good plastic
This stuff you can fit your whole finger behind sometimes
Pin joints in the galleys as well
Also Iāll be taking bets on whatās wrong with the plane we are picking up in Malaga today
1.6 per day on average since the beginning of the year, in just the US alone
My money is on an APU INOP
Oh the online CTL hasnāt been updated
So idk whatās wrong with it yet
Last updated 20th Jan
Great
Thanks Ryanair
Oh yeah
Most things related to the US govt are done
He just destroyed most of the DOJ yesterday
Wheelchairs at emergency exits
It's just a matter of time, I think this is going to be much longer than 4 years...
Oh yeah at least 10 years
Itās good because they are doing it to themselves so they canāt blame the rest of the world on there fuckups
You think it'll end? I think at the end of this the US will have elections that are as fair and democratic as Russia
They are and people are buying it, so...
Maybe I'm just too much of a doomer, I hope I'm wrong
No no
I think your right
There is no point in being all happy and positive about it because thatās dangerous
Everything might not be ok
Perfect landing
New video shows the dramatic moment a plane crashed on landing, turning over onto its roof and bursting into flames.
The incident happened as the Delta jet carrying 80 passengers attempted to land at Toronto's Pearson Airport.
Remarkably, no one was killed, although several people were injured.

this is a hardware question, so im not sure if anyone would have an answer
but is there a way to reduce the centering springs on the thrustmaster airbus stick?
i feel like it is a lot stronger than it is irl, it takes quite a bit of force to overcome the center, especially when it comes to small movements
Tbh itās probably possible but youād have to actually tweak the thing itself. Changing the springs for weaker ones for example, or if there are multiple, reducing the number of springs it uses
i cant find any teardown videos that show the insides, so im not sure if they use doubled stprings
No unfortunately
The biggest reason is because there are no actual springs
If you have the TCA
It's just like the T16000
If you had the Ursa Minor, probably
I can on my Virpil, and I'm sure you also can with WinWing
I guess there's the big spring you could try to replace
But I don't think it's going to make a big difference
If your problem is overcoming the center you'll need to get one of the sticks I listed above
If you want to get a lighter spring I'm fairly sure you can take the stick apart, give the spring to a DIY store (or whatever they're called) and tell them if they have it, or if they can make you one
Sorry if it's gross (stick is like 4 years old, last year just being "in storage"), but before the sprint engages you have to take up some slack
That's why it's awkward around the center
@hollow oracle sorry it's awkward to show on video but hopefully you see the "issue", the first "bump" you have to overcome to get out of the center detent is caused by the way the joystick is built, a weaker spring might help, but it's not going to solve the issue
Also they added a stupid Deadzone to the Airbus sticks (or so I've heard) so that's going to make it feel worse out of the box
I'd personally recommend getting the Ursa Minor
I haven't found any exploded diagrams but I think the Ursa Minor has a very similar mechanism to the other WinWing and my Virpil stick, which is something more like this
Which doesn't have that center bump/detent
Also maybe look at the AvA if you want to remain with Thrustmaster, definitely better than the god awful Warthog
And has a very interesting mechanism, which supposedly works very well, it just has one damper in the middle, but it translates movement much better
The virpils are lovely kit best things I ever bought for flightsim
CRT moment
its really awesome how fenix shut off their discord completely
im interested in just some easy peer-to-peer troubleshooting, but nope
nevermind, for some reason i wasnt a registered user
the fenix just makes me feel happy all of the time
when it works, it works awesome, when it doesnt work, it makes me want to eat glass
i seemed to have fixed my main thread lag spikes with the fenix, which is good, but im not sure if its temporary, or if its going to last until landing
it turns out that an airport that just had a weather-related accident is hard to land at
doing some Air Nauru flying, currently doing RJFK-PGUM, second leg of this trip š
Guam-Nauru next (maybe tomorrow)?
so happy finally someone made the livery š
I think after I'm done with this I'll take a small break and then I'll do this, every excuse is good to land in Kai Tak š
also finally a good opportunity to fly with an airline that actually had the CIVA INS AFAIK
The only other one I'm aware of was Dan Air London (on the 727)
The FlyJsim?
yeah always had, lovely plane š
No it was actually surprisingly rare on the 73s and 72s
most of them went straight from conventional to basic FMCs/GPS
Yeah donāt mind me, I thought it was the MSFS one at first lol
in the US most remained conventional up until the '90s/2000s
Oh didnāt know they just remained as such
I guess then my common refusal to use INS (most of the time I just cba to enter all the waypoints, going VOR to VOR is often simpler) is justified
INS existed mostly to cross oceans or big empty landmasses
That most certainly is weird
that's why it was very common on many long haul planes (i.e. 747-100/200, L-1011, etc...) but it wasn't really needed on a 727 or 737
Well yeah, makes sense, no VORs there
Also thatās a wonderful new name to call Canada
To be completely honest I've no idea why Dan Air has them, perhaps they planned to go to some weird places? Air Nauru flew this big transpacific routes
Before then they were fully dead reckoning with the F28
Dan Air did run 727s from the UK to Tenerife, a fair bit of that is overwater
Yeah that's fair enough
yeah so, you either operated this kind of flights, or it wasn't really necessary
You can do it with barely any overwater operations, but thatās a fair detour
even without the MCP that FMS seems to be a fairly common retrofit that loads of EU based 737-200s had fairly early (I want to say early/mid '80s)
and that's a lot more capable than the CIVA INS
and then of course in the late '80s they also had the modern honeywell FMC/UNS-1, some even got a ND
Makes sense they would already retrofit them, Classics entered service in ā84 iirc, so making older things as close as possible to at least that was an option
yeah, with time the remaining -200s became sort of a "steam gauge" classic in terms of avionics/navigation
(in Europe that is, as I said, in the US they didn't bother until they were pretty much out of service AFAIK)
And glass cockpits were a thing even earlier than classics after all
MD-80s were some of the first iirc, introduced in ā80 and already had navigation displays Iām quite sure
yeah just for my convience I kind of like to think that '50s/ early 60s were the first/second gen (Caravelle, Comet, 707), then from the mid/late '60s up until the mid/late '70s you had the "second" generation (727s, 737s, Trident, BAC 1-11, F28, etc...), then starting from the late '70s early '80s you start to get things like the A320, 737 Classic, MD-80s, etc...
Uh I think the early MD-80s didn't
they had pretty much the DC-9 cockpit
Possibly tbh, I donāt know too much on that
Yeah the glass cockpit in the maddogs was introduced with the md88
Until that point it's was basically just a normal dc9 cockpit
Is the default MSFS 747 any flyable? I wanna do some freight but I donāt have the 77F/MD11 and the 727 is a bit broken
It is very flyable, I had some issues with fuel but Iām 99% sure I had set it up incorrectly
I did a trans-Atlantic EDDF-KJFK flight in it, and a UPS flight in it too, the only real downside to the freight version is that no doors are animated, itās just decals for the panel seams
Wish it was a -400 and not an -8 tbh
i think everybody does, barely anyone actually operates the -8
Well no tbf a fair few airlines fly the -8, I just wish it was a -400 to properly fly Rossiya, since they returned 2 into service
15 operators (8 with more than 1) of the -400 vs 13 (5 with more than 1) for the -8,
im still clinging on to the PMDG 747 & P3D.. just for the 744 & sometimes the 748
i am scared of flying gauges, but if its PMDG, i will really consider it
im not against learning an aircraft im not familiar with if its made by a competent dev (aside from the embraers)
Tbh if you wanna learn gauges, go JF. The F28 is wonderful
Just Flight is just as good, if not better than PMDG.
iFly is better than PMDG too
they haven't been at the top for a long time
I said this on Reddit and got absolutely dunked on
No it's definitely right hahah
That Flight Model is leaps and bounds above any other MSFS airliner
I think the iFly isn't quite as polished and refined
Iām planning on doing another max 8 flight now that I got some settings figured out, so hopefully I can learn to love it again
Yeah PMDG have just gone downhill since P3D v3 I would say
It used to be momentous to have and purchase a PMDG product now itās just shit
The PMDG 737 was leaps and bounds above anything else in P3D
Same with the 777
And the 747
If yall don't mind me asking what's yall opinion on inibuilds aircraft's?
Iāve flown their A300 and A320neo, and the A300 is great, the 20neo is a really weird miss
The A300 is great Iāve heard, the A310 is also quite good
The A350 to be honest seems bit overpriced, thatās a steep number to ask overall
But well, of course Iām only gonna actually judge the A350 once (if) I try it
PMDG is not at the top for a long time now, but there are people who claim they still are and refuse to let anyone think otherwise. Plus of course, PMDG themselves think theyāre the one and only, the single best
I remember opening PMDG facebook, seeing āOur Fearless Leader Robert Randazzoā and thinking āThatās some DPRK kind of stuffā
Mediocre
They have alot pf Airbuses in the FS24 The A310 A320 the A330 series The Beluga The Atlas then as payware the A300 and soon the A350 and in the future possibly the A380
Pain - spent 3 days installing ortho on an x-plane reinstall after a hd upgrade. Thats just for BC and Alaska. No wonder msfs š© is popular š
i still am extremely tempted to get the MSFS premium delux epic gamer cyberpunk edition extended 2024 just for the beluga/A330/A321/C-17, but im still too scared to make the jump
im genuinely worried about how reliant it is on having an internet conenction, MSFS already takes up about 100GB/month, and MSFS 2024 is probably like 10x as bad

Seems like it is only today, around a year after starting to fly, I can now say I have experienced MSFS. This was the first time that I had my game just give up right before landing
