#Flight Sims (MSFS, P3D, X-Plane, DCS, FS98...)
1 messages Β· Page 5 of 1
Welcome to the first of several episodes, aiming to give you a better overview of all the features and technologies we've developed for DCS: F-4E, coming with our recreation of the legendary Phantom II for DCS World. In this episode, we'll be focusing on introducing the Phantom, and giving you a quick overview of some of the unique aspects of ou...
Virpil MongoosT-50 CM3 base with 20cm extension and a Thrustmaster Warthog grip.
oh hello
Why don't they just release the UNS-1?
Thanks
Welp, I bought the MSFS premium deluxe...
No idea what to expect, but now I have a Dreamliner
Maddog just got another small update, always good to see:
FIXED
- fixed issue that could cause T/O trim setting not to work on second flight leg
- fixed issue that could cause aircraft not to be loaded on second flight leg
- fixed issue with trim sometimes not saved in turnaround mode
- fixed issue with ADF/NAV ident volume set
- fixed issue when pressing TO/GA that caused FMS to sequence route to MISAP when not on approach mode
- fixed issue of aircraft loosing too much altitude when initiating an AUT G/A
- fixed issue when loading a saved flight
OTHER
- added working briefcase and map lights for both CM1/2 sides
- added working overhead speaker volume knob
- added WindowShades variable to maddogx.ini (0=auto, 1=always open)
Short flight from EDFM to EDDR with the DA-42. Weather was meh, especially because of quite strong winds. Fortunately no icing.
gd bless
Lets talk flying brick! Episode II gives you a quick overview of the flight model and some of the "ancillary" work around the flight model itself, such as control systems, engines, and other key elements.
Thank you for all of your support and love and see you in the skies!
yippe
wwwwww
I hear they have good history with P3D? Hopefully they can challenge PMDG
only issue I have is the external load manager, but otherwise the MAX is pretty solid
it's a very good product
and certainly a pmdg competition
one of those flights again
This the FSLabs one?
affirm
If they hadn't pulled that malware stunt I'd be so excited for their upcoming MSFS one
yea quite shit for them to pull it & then sweep it under the rug essentially
still some decent product offerings, probably will be flying the Concorde once it releases for MSFS (provided I can run it), though no big fuss
I might actually cave in and finally buy the Fenix. So far I'm really happy with the FBW A320 but with Block 2 this might change.
Even Block 1 was really good. Got some features I've never seen before in flight sim, like your company asking you why you were late leaving the gate π
If you like airbuses I would really recommend
Fenix Is by far, without a shadow of a doubt the best MSFS aircraft, can't believe it's getting even better π
smart financial decisions occurred today
enjoy the download
taken all afternoon
This was close to not landing
Was too lazy to set up IFR (and I don't really understand the autopilot anyway) so a manual VFR flight between KLAX and KSAN. The weather was definitely not ideal for that. Cause of the clouds I was close to being too far off the runway
And yeah not to mention that I forgot to disable autothrottle until at like 500ft so landed at basically 200kts, and yeah I don't wanna say it but I nearly forgot about the landing gear
do IFR /W between LAX and SAN, I dare you
/W?
Also fun thing, I actually wanted to see which data SimBrief will give me, so I just loaded it, told it 'KLAX to KSAN in a 737-800'...
...so SimBrief as any normal thing said I have 186 passengers on this flight
30 gonna stand or something?
Also genuinely I would if I could figure out the fucking buttons
radio navigation only
The only thing I manage to get working is the autothrottle, speed is fine. But I couldn't even get altitude hold to work
So like, visibility 0?
I don't know IFR but I sure as hell can try VFR in 0 visibility*
* - success of the flight is not guaranteed
the first flight always is π
Just wait until you're landing a 747 into heavy fog with almost zero visibility, that's when it gets really good π
seeing the area I grew up so well recreated was weird, huge change from xp11's default scenery when I played it :o
looks so good, am very excited
Yeah, MSFS is just incredibly good looking. Getting to see your own house from above is an experience
4-5 years ago I'd have to have terabytes of ortho to get close to that π
just leaves space for terabytes of custom airports and liveries now

@echo gorge @reef isle
If I bought the "732 Twinjet V3 pro" would I need to purchase it again for Xplane 12?
at least I know that whenever I decide to upgrade to Xplane 12 I wouldn't need to buy things again π
pobably
i think toliss required an xp12 upgrade, same with FF
Why would they make it for an old dead version?
Fair, but I don't really see myself getting xp12, if I get back into the sim I'll stick with 11
Same, I think the only thing that would change that for me is either a good L-1011 or the Hotstart A220
11 isn't dead
people still play it as there main sim
pretty much all in development addons will support both 11 and 12
the only one that isn't is seemingly the Aerobask Falcon
FF787, FF777, Toliss shit, the Hotstart 220
all support both
the same thing happened with XP10
And back again...
yeah, until 12 gets the performance fixed, i can't see people fully migrating
about time
nice... XP12?
The guts of my Virpil stick. Quality engineering
Going to try springless
Feels nice
CM3? I've been super happy with mine
returning to gatwick from faro
FBW A20N?
si!
I also got the fenix last night so thats fun
FSDT also has a sale which made GSX a lot cheaper too π
it was almost as if they knew I was gonna buy it soon :o
Thanks for letting me know, I've been after it for a while!
back to LFSB
a really nice bit of kit, thoroughly enjoying it
thats it tbh, everything about is it just nice. to the way it flies to the efb to even the flightdeck button animations
for 50 pound, with all the functionaliy, engine types and incoming sharklets too, i'm very happy with my purchase
yeah, it's insanely good value for money, especially compared to the PMDG Boeings
yeah, I am interested in getting their 800 at some point.. but for every variant... thats gonnaa be expensive
LFSB-EGKK-LFSB rotation done
Hullo, fellow easyJet wageslave pilot!
Flying the party bomber from EGKK to LEIB (Ibiza).
Freeware Yak 18, going to take her round the pattern for a looksee
The flight sim community as a whole needs more Soviet stuff
That's the x-plane one right? iirc it's quite decent
KBOS - KJFK
Flying actually in the noon, but decided to take screenshots at sunrise
Its lovely
Do you know why its called a whisky compass?
Because you need to be on the whisky to navigate by it
First full successful IFR flight
always a good feeling
I gotta get the A320 at some point too
Looks very nice, and even though Iβm not much of a fan, itβs something great for variety
I guess the FBW one is enough for me for now, since I canβt get Fenix
The not crap crapenado 210
Not crap cause crapenado didnt make it π
This is an XP11 aircraft resurrected from the dead and running in 12 thanks to REP
little uk vfr tour I wanna do is all routed, now need to decide what I wanna do it in π
A2A Commanche is the way to go imo
I am planning on doing the entire world in it, not looking forward to the Bering Strait
Nice, great route for PSA Maddogs
Welp all I have is a 737, so that's enough for me. Plus, I really really like the Astrojet livery
Yeah, it looks very retro
Yeah it does
I mean, it is very retro
That's why I love it, stands out a lot in the modern world
finally getting around to installing GSX Pro
not looking forward to having to exclude all my payware airports and hunt down profiles
oh it has an automagic button to do it? awesome
okay this is cool
Looks nice
i didn't realise just how long this would take, looks like 1 truck load won't be enough
no idea where my cargo things went either
Is it your first IFR aircraft?
The 737 is the first one I tried IFR on, yeah
Pretty much the only plane I fly ever since I bought it
Yeah that's fair, I learnt with the airbus
About 8 years ago with the aerosoft airbus for FSX
It's addictive though, I go through phases of flying myself
I'm in one of them atm since block 2 of the Fenix came out
Baseddddddddd
Aerosoft airbus

146 Professional v2 Upgrade Coming Soon,
In this video, we show you what's included in the first of the two major free-of-charge upgrades coming soon to our 146 Professional for MSFS, the brand new passenger cabin. Mark, from our in-house development team, takes you on a to...
Free upgrades are never a bad thing
Oh I gotta get the 146, it looks so nice
Also, how to get the cabin view? I still havenβt found lol
arrow keys are the way i do it
you can use quick views if the aircraft has them
i tend to just move around with the arrow keys until i get to a spot i like, then save that as a snap view
Kodiak 100
Just some Fenix screen detail appreciation
so good, the display reflections π
How is Shared Cockpit these days?
Beautiful
me and my friend did a gatwick faro rotation and it worked perfectly majority of the time with the FBW neo
Greetings Captains! I don't think there is a day that goes by without an email or message asking about KSFO. I really appreciate the huge amount of interest. I know there are some deadlines that have been missed... however this is for a good reason. To acquire the title of "Captain's Edition", a Flightbeam product must sit high above previous re...
pretty good, sharedflight still has bugs but it works pretty seemlessly
just a plugin
example
if you type something accidentally on the MCDU then it will sometimes not sync if you delete it quickly. This means when your putting in data for the other person it will go "entry not avail" and desync
you just need to redo the steps on the other client and it will sync again
Approaching Frankfurt/Main.
tfw still no proper frankfurt or msfs
i still find that somewhat funny
it's like lhr
I just want Flightbeam KSFO already
It surely can't be that far off by now
Need a decent KPHX and KDFW as well
The fact that Asobo left their KDFW to rot is kinda sad
Huh, I heard very mixed things
Might take a look again
you using the fantastic freeware gatwick?
abit of su action
the FC3 revamp is really nice, the cockpits feel so much more "deep" now
ZGGG -> ZGDY
FlySimWare are getting on my nerves
They release updates almost daily, always a smaller number of things fixed than is really necessary. It's a coin-flip as to whether the installer will trigger windows defender. The installer does literally nothing that the old drag/drop folder didn't.
Their website is clunky AF and it takes half a dozen clicks just to get to the update
It's like being on the FBW dev branch but without the added convenience of the updater software
the guy just tells people to turn off antivirus during installation... that's really not ok
For anyone on the fence about the learjet... it's a good product but, until the dev sorts out their release management, i can't recommend it
I like the idea of an analogic bizjet but the Lear 35 does nothing to me, if that makes sense, I don't really care about that plane ahahah... I'd much rather have an older Hawker jet.
Also the way the responded to me when I asked if they could do a /A version without GPS or if they considered the KLN90B really left a bad taste in my mouth
I'd snap it up in a heartbeat if the did /W version, until then
I have read on their discord that they're still using the A/P logic embedded in the GPS units... that's not good π¬
and I guess that's why they can't do a /A or /W
Yep, makes me question the fidelity of the rest of the plane
Miltech's Chinook is out for MSFS, will give it a try later
Flybe π’
π
survived my first pilotedge flight
It was really cool, but scary, I think the controller had like 2 or 3 traffics so he wasn't busy and everything went fine, they seem to be a lot more familiar with /A compared to VATSIM, I got given a re route and heading to join a V airway, I don't think they would have ever given that to me on VATSIM
this particular controller was also quite nice to me, he gave me the clearance fairly slowly, I think he understood I was terrified ahahah π but unlike VATSIM they are demanding and they point out mistakes (for example while switching from twr to app on departure I forgot to tell them my cleared altitude and he pointed that out to me)
that pointing out mistakes honestly sounds nice, with vatsim 90% of the time you never realize you made them
pilotedge is still only california, right?
No
I have the Western Expansion (which is the yellow part)
Yes π¦
It's quite expensive, I mostly wanted to try it, still unsure whether or not I'll keep it, maybe I'll do it every other month
wait
so it's like a dlc?
No, you can get it as a standalone
ah
You can either get only LA (green bit), only western Expansion (yellow bit), or both, but that's really expensive
im pretty sure that PE controllers r actually paid for their atc services
Yes they are
i would like to try pe but beyondatc is hopefully gonna release soon
and vatsim is just
such a shitfest
especially in europe
I think it's been worse since the Fenix update released
I'd just avoid the UK, Germany, Austra and the Netherlands are usually fine
why is the uk so bad actually lol
i never understood why its a magnet
germany is usually super fun to fly through
the upper radar positions r a massive
w
No idea but it's definitely one of the worst places in terms of pilots
without a question
i remember my 10 min overflight on a transatlantic
poor london center
most hectic 10 min radio communications i've ever heard lol
Yeah
maybe i should boot up g'ole flight sim and do a little widebody flight on vatsim
still no 777 tho
When the A380 is going to be released VATSIM will be borderline unplayable for at least a few weeks I reckon ahahahahahah
oh man i will love and hate the release
cant wait for EGLL-EDDF a380 flights

oh man dUBAI
the traffic pattern for dubai is horrendous during busy times
EGLL-EHAM will become the n.1 A380 route
Yep, the controllers will have fun with the huge separation requirments and pilot skill π€ͺ
'pilot skill'
aw mane
it's too bad that pilot skill has dropped so much honestly
vatsim imo should've done some training program stuff
not saying im perfect but
i know how to fly my planes and communicate
Yeah, and the thing is that it's the most basic things, it's not like everyone should be a pretend real life pilot, but perhaps if you don't know what a SID/STAR is, and how to actually put that in the FMC then maybe fly a bit more offline...
dont know how to fly a hold is the biggest problem too lol
Yeah, nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes but at the same time I've seen people that lacked the most basic knowledge
Quick question (I don't remember if I asked it before) is there a quick key to hide the hud in MSFS
you're not the only one
unicom might be the second biggest problem
i hate text pilots with a burning passion
Not sure, there is a thing in the settings
the amount of times they started to cut infront of me on approach and didnt say they were landing

i will never forget you easyjet pilot who cut infront of me at berlin and made me go around after my little 9 hour flight

Oof
Tbh I rather have that over a idiot nearly causing the tenerife disaster for the second time because he didn't listen to my communication
that bloody turkish airlines A330 at Copenhagen, won't forget you
ikik but im just saying unicom in general
is just bad
and so r text pilots
text pilots are fine on unicom, but when it comes to having atc. I would understand it's a pain
And yes
i meant when atc
and I think it won't help when vatsim does that CTAF test in USA now
ngl i never look at vpilot
ah
so i never see their messages either
in xpilot we get a text box that shows the text up in the sim
ye
i never sawe their messages either in xpilot
Cozy
Lots of really good scenery, quite a few short hops to good airports (Amsterdam, Crackfurt, Zurich, Dublin, Paris) plus a rather large domestic network. Everyone knows heathrow, not many people can name the full title of MΓΌnchen airport.
you also have a feedback loop, More pilots = More controllers = More ATC online = More Pilots ect ect
Early days of vatsim there was JFK, SOCAL and London
I have seen some very idiotic things recently on VATSIM
way more than there used to be
Not to be rude or seem insular but MSFS has done some quite hefty damage on the Flight sim Community
It's also breathed new life into it, tbh
I don't think younger generations are going to be willing to try out FSX or P3D at this point, X-Plane maybe. MSFS has helped convert so many people who may not have given flightsims a look beforehand
jem out here cruuuuuisin
The Japanese flight sim community has created so many high quality free airports, it's a real joy to fly over there. Only downside is the time difference when using live weather. In winter it's usually dark when I get to fly. π
What model is that?
The new Miltech Simulations CH-47D, came out yesterday
very very much so
thats an undeniable fact
as rude as it may sound
that's also true
i just think it's too easy to get into vatsim
the quality has dropped so much
christ
On this, have training servers for first wings events
You fly in them then you get in
All they need to do
lovely c2 recovery
i agree
yes
what is a e55p
Phenom 300
ohhhh
sheesh OY π₯Ά
debating wether or not to buy the ini A300 Beluga for Xplane, it's on a 25% discount, currently at β¬47 (more or less, depending on the GPB/EUR exchange rate), I was hoping I could grab it for something more like β¬35/40, but if it's on sale now I'm not sure if they'll discount it during easter.
I know it's a good plane, just not sure that I'll end up using it that often, any suggestions? I know from time to time ini does crazy sales, should I wait for those or is β¬50 a reasonable price to pay?
they do 10 pound sales relatively often, wait for them imo
If they're relatively often I'll wait for those
Couple times a year I'd say
Luxury interior and glass cockpit goose https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1znSOi5AAFQ
They haven't done one in a while so I'm hopeful they might do that soon-ish. I'm also hoping there will be a bigger discount during Easter. As I said, don't need the full crazy 10GBP discount, even at like 30/35 I think I'd get a good enough product
Dont seem to be able to get my rudder pedals assigned
Got toe brakes π Thats the trouble with running an unfamiliar flight sim. No idea how to do anything
She does look the part though
where can I find these airports
KONT -> KPHX
using the new update?
Yep!
The changes they made to the livery manager are much appreciated, it definitely didn't need to verify them every time
Nice! yeah a lot of the changes have been great
I'm glad they fixed the retard constantly playing after touchdown lol
the updated IAE interior sounds are so good too
100%, going from 50% N1 to FLX on the takeoff is glorious
Like DocTrench said, flightsim.to is the place to go.
more EZY ops as im a basic bitch
did my first flight on vatsim, that was daunting π
EGGP - EGJJ - EGKK
Ive flown on before but made the hurdle to using voice only and it was awesome tbh
little things like being able to see aircraft above whilst on ground burning up the sky was cool
respect u flew in the uk π
thats a huge pass
to top it off, landed right into an s2 exam π
700 ft whoops!
Gonna give this thing another go, see if they've improved it or not
has there been any updates to it at all
Not since 2022. One is apparently being worked on though.
Why do I have to trick the bleeds into switching properly? One button half a second too soon? Everything is fucked. Deadheading in a window seat? Too bad thereβs a fucking wall where your feet go. Need anti-ice in a descent? That fucking sucks, the thing only has enough power to get the anti-ice to come on at goddamn 75% thrust. Descending with power in and spoilers out. Fucking brilliant. Put blowers in the thing so maybe everyone wonβt die when you shut the packs off to start an engine in PHX in July? Naw, fuck that. Donβt worry though, once the engine starts are complete, the cabin will cool down. Around the time you get to FL330, which will take around 2 hours because you had to level off at 230,250,270,290 and 310 to take a running start at the next altitude. And thatβs if you were one of the lucky bastards that actually had a working APU, even though that pile of shit didnβt do half of anything anyway. Youβd see people with their fucking lips on the gaspers trying to suck out whatever βfreshβ air they could because the APU puts out air like an asthmatic breathing through a straw. Also, thanks, bumble-fucks at bombardier for not giving the thing slats. I just love 170kt GS approaches into Denver in the summer. Good fucking thing thereβs 12000β of runway, because once I flare from this stupid lawn dart 5 degree down approach angle, thereβs a pretty good chance Iβm floating forever. Sure hope there isnβt too much of a crosswind. Nothing says stability like main wheels that are 6 feet apart from each other. Taking off is a grand old time too. Flaps 8? Have fun with your 147kt vr speed in a plane you have to start flying at 50kts or the wind will pick up a wing and youβll wing strike the downwind wing thatβs only 3 feet off the ground anyway.
what am i reading lmfao
copypasta about the CRJ-200
They do seem to be utterly inept at anything other than making airports
A classic
true
wasnt there a twotter for msfs too
yes, which then got completely pulled
bruh
theory is that they've given it to Microsoft for FS2024
maybe they should finish the a330
meanwhile the guy who is in sole control of the CRJs is also busy fixing the ATRs
hans
yep
or whatever that mans name is
g'ole brisbane
4 years and they still haven't built a spotting area for the new runway like they said they would π
I wonder if orbx ever updated their YBBN or if it's still mostly an FSX/P3D port lol
Flying Aeroflot for once
ULLI - UUEE (St. Petersburg - Moscow Sheremetyevo)
When I get to UUEE it should be already dark, and I predict (aka see by looking out the window right now) the weather might be not that good
There's snow now
Approaching Sheremetyevo

good sale
Average Moscow approach be like
whadda hell
Thatβs what Moscow approaches look like xD
There is actually 1 small unnecessary zigzag there cause the plane stopped LNAV suddenly and started banking right
Also I got lucky that MSFS live weather/time were wrong, so it wasnβt dark and was quite clear
how's the ortho in russia?
Ortho?
the photoscenery
Itβs actually not that different from the rest of the world
Except in some areas outdated (I flown around my house for a bit, itβs there but circa 2019 Iβd say)
good to hear, flew over china once in sim and was incredibly disappointed
Oh is the scenery there bad?
I mean to be fair, itβs taken off Google Maps so itβs not that surprising
yeah, did a flight from ZYTL to Kai Tak and I remember the ortho being pretty disapointing
went right over shanghai and was hoping it'd be good but it wasn't
I think there are some enhancements for cities
that said china's a massive country and there's likely areas of good ortho as well
I actually own one, not for China though, for Boston
yeah that one looks nice, don't have it yet but it does look really nice
It was actually in a pack of iirc 4 cities
USA Modern Cities Volume 1
Boston, LA, Philly and Miami
Thereβs also volume 2 with SF, Atlanta, Charlotte and Honolulu. Idk if I want to buy that yet, been spending quite a bit lately
Also thereβs a separate NYC one from the same dev, which looks awesome
one of my friends has the NYC one and loves it
yeah I've just not really flown much this year and don't wanna spend money when I'm not flying π
I'm just too tempted to get everything yet don't wanna spend anything xD
Wanted to buy the ATR too, it's on sale for quite a while already, but just not sure if I can handle a plane like that
And yeah been tempted to get the ini 300 ever since it released on the marketplace
the ini 300 looks great, my friend flew with me with that yday and its now on my lil wishlist π
can even open the cargo doors with one of the panels outside the cockpit
Well idk if I really want it though, cause I pretty much never fly the A310, and the last time I tried, well, I kinda didn't fly it good
thats been my experience w the new ini update
i meant
fenix
whoops
i dont like that the flight controls are handled by an external program
I don't know why I didn't fly it good, I probably just am not used to how that thing handles
Also really I've been flying just the 737 for like... 3 months? Other planes feel kinda weird to me already lol
Today I wanted to do a small flight in an AirSerbia 320neo (FBW), loaded in and was like "Where yoke?"
Just wanted to try to land in Tivat that is, cause the airport is bit difficult indeed, and I've flown there pretty much every summer of my life for like 13 years
So then I kinda was like "How the hell do you use autopilot in this thing", changed into a 737 and did the flight. Landing was bit scary really, very close to the mountains
i need my 777
haven't flown any Airbus in ages
Yeah a good 777 would be nice
I thought I never cared about the graphics of a flight sim... that changed the moment I started to fly in the Northwest US
It's so beautiful in MSFS, and in Xplane 11 is just... ugh
Tbh MSFS overall is very beautiful imo
It is, it's just that I never really cared that much, and even flying in "beautiful places" in Europe (like Switzerland) I never really felt like I was missing too much, but northwest US for some reason it's just so much worse
747 is the only thing thatβll get me to reinstall MSFS
Probably will die before that happens though
Yes
And to be fair a full 747 pack (or well more likely packs)
With -100s, -200s etc
Iβd settle for a good 400 with related variants but with PMDG itβll take 50 years and still be missing things that were in the QOTSII for P3D
JF was doing a -200 already iirc
748 :)))
i want an a321 tbh
ive never flown it skull
i dont like how the 787 flies
all the planes in msfs feel weird to fly regardless
Last time I tried the 748 even with the salty mod it was so bad to fly, landing it was miserable as fuck
It either wants to just float forever or slams into the runway and thereβs no in between
doesn't matter how good a 748 is anyway, they're pretty useless in sim, they're just so restricted in their routes
Honestly I just want an older 747 to do classic transatlantic flights
But indeed 747s are legendary, beautiful, but genuinely quite restricted in use
Iβd really like a good DC10 tbh
I'm most excited for the 75/76, whether or not that'll be good or not π€·ββοΈ
Nippon Cargo flights out of NRT while I cry myself to sleep at cruise realizing weβll probably never get a -400D for a modern sim
it seems like that 75 will be good, but given how many times they've basically restarted from scratch god knows if it'll actually release
that said, while I think 75s are super cool irl, I hate their cockpits (and the cockpits of all boeings since)
gimme a 72, 73, or early 74 cockpit instead
747-200 for xplane
i have a friend whos working in that team
I don't have xplane, that's the thing

i meannnn
get prosim
oh waits its not prosim
idk who makes the 747
aerowinx that's it
Will give up the 747 for a MSFS port of the Abacus 787
Kids nowadays wouldnβt know quality flight sim payware, Abacus was best of the best
You mean to tell me that you don't like Anchorage?
stansted - dublin - stansted rotation done
or not because flight sims dont like me and the 787 NWS just broke
domestic 787 ops
The CRJ just kinda... worked?
It didn't go into a hold very well, but other than that it did quite well
GSX Pro doesn't seem to play super nicely with it, it seemed to fail to load the passenger and baggage weights, but otherwise I'm happy
Realturb is awesome, very much glad I bought it
Ah, apparently this is normal?
Looks like it only loads the fuel weight, the rest is not GSX accessible for most aircraft π¦ I've been spoiled by the Fenix A320
GSX has been a bit over the place on aircraft apart from the fenix for me, some loads fuel only, some loads pax only, some can open doors and others can't
Fenix does it best.. I too was spoiled π
Ah well, I mainly bought it for the pushback and marshalling honestly
those are worth the price of admission alone
Chicago Midway
Yeah, I noticed it just roaming around and lined up for a shot
that looks incredible
To celebrate the opening of FS Weekend in Lelystad, we are giving you this quick glance at some in-development video taken of our upcoming PMDG 777 for Microsoft Flight Simulator title*. I'm torn on it... On the one hand, it's a ubiquitous real world aircraft made to a high standard... On the other, it's PMDG, and it's a long-haul aircraft...
Its not something i'll be rushing to buy, if I could even afford it right now :x
would be a lot of cargo hops as long hauls aren't my thing usually, maybe this aircraft could change that idk
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
finally 777
-300ER only

Well that told us nothing
walkable cabin kinda mid
not really something i care too much about
i hope u can disable it to save frames
If there is one thing I am not worried about with PMDG, it's performance
Usually runs way better than, say, the Fenix A320 or Leonardo MD-80s
im abit weary on it
their NGXu launch for p3d had horrid performance if anything
try #2
god bless
godddddddd the fucking wing flex again
80eur for each variant and 200 for the group package
If your lucky
i wish they'd bothered to do a package deal for the 737s
i might have bothered with the 700 in that case
nope
I'm honestly more keen for an update on the TFDi MD-11 - their discord seems to be indicating slow but steady progress, but I think it's a few months away still
theres alot of progress in the
dev channel
they push weekly updates to the plane
i cant complain
lovely
PMDG think they are the shit and thatβs really fucking annoying because they arenβt. 737 series is cool but it took them 2 years to make an EFB, they charge so much because they are the only real offering for 737βs in MSFS. $80 is about $20 too expensive for it by default before you even start to think about the fact other sims have the same aircraft for free with the same level of system and flight depth.
pmdg still have their fsx/p3d mentality
The 777 should be good I think
100%
it shows in their work too lol
thhe 777 does not look great
but holy shit
is it all average now
we got freeware stuff that's on their level π
They think they are the shit when really they are as good as the competition
doesnt help that their ceo is a child in an adult body lol
but PMDG are Boeing partnered or whatever!!!111!!1!1 must be better!!!!!
never
fuck randazzhole
FF777 is the one Iβm actually looking forward too
i hope that comes out soon
Been 2 years in development
as i am also waiting for that
They have liveries on it already, I think they are finalising some systems and then gg
I just know FF will charge $80 for each variation but this time it might actually be worth it
do i qualify for veteran status yet
ifly 747
omg
i honestly liked the ifly 737 more than the omdg one
it had way better visuals imo
aerosoft based
flytampa kai tak + this bad boy intensifies
Who made the L1011?
CS
or justflight
The CS L1011 and the Felis AN-24 were my two go to aircraft
i tried xp9 and 10 and just gave up
One for P3D one for XP10
too complicated
Still easier than P3D
p3d is just a goddamn hassle to set up
You install a livery wrong and GG
fuck orbx and all the million of graphic enhancement programs u need
Sim reinstall
p3d served me well tho
i flew both
11 was really fucking good for when it did come out
and then abandoned p3d in favor of x12 and msfs when it became stable
xp11 physics
chefs kiss
yep
jar a330
I still fly that haha
xplane sadly never had the success with developers like fsx/p3d
Still doesnβt
although the current planes out r great nowadays
XP never had the backing of payware devs, the freeware community was what made it
Still is really
Lack of a GSX is sad however
i meanu can buy jar groundhandling :)))
GHD really annoys me
theres a free plugin though isnt there
what im looking forward to is hotstart a220
albeit that's a few years away
Oh yeah nah donβt get me wrong thatβs really nice to have that equipment, issue is it doesnβt have the same functionality as GSX
i know
Loading, pushback, auto liveries, auto config
βDNATA will be your handler for todayβ
The missions undertaken by the crews of B-17 bombers during World War II are the stuff of legend. What was it like to fly through relentless anti-aircraft fire over Nazi-occupied Europe? What was it like to have a thin layer of steel between life and death at 15,000 feet? How did it feel to furiously fend off enemy fighters zipping around your p...

Dont think I played it first time round
Dont think I will be this time either
g'ole vegas
Wish that NTTR would be updated
it's one of my favourite maps, it just looks dated now
F-15E's always been a proper module π
i bought it on release and was disappointed, although it's EA
It was just delivered in roughly Operation Allied Force spec
felt like the hornet again
I felt they had a really solid base product, it was just lacking some of the weapons and features people wanted
ye thats what i meant
I probably wouldn't have released it without TFR, but imo, JDAMs, Datalink, JHMCS, etc is all superfluous stuff that it doesn't need to be great
datalink is very important in a gen 4
thats one thing that i find super important
JHMCS/JDAM i can agree, it's a QOL thing
but steady progress
i gotta give razbam that
for a small multirole fighter with average radar, datalink is useful
for the F-15E which may as well have the eye of sauron in the nose? i can't say i'm missing the extra SA, I can already see targets at ~100 miles
ig
good makeshift awacs btw
can say from flying f14 that if theres no awacs u might as well be it
the iranian way
honestly the thing that interests me most about the F15 is that it's the closest thing to a vark we're likely to ever get
low level penetration
i meannn it workss
Yesterday night there was a great event in the Boston Vartcc featuring dead airlines. I thought I'd try and find the strangest one π
Unfortunately there were lots of JBUs and AAL... but I heard plenty of Clippers and Continentals and I landed behind a B-25 in KBTV so, that was a lot of fun π
Guess it was a good time for me to get back into the CRJ...

The Boris Audio Works Aerosoft CRJ Sound Set is on the horizon! As a pre-release video, I have created a showcase of the sounds from start to finish. This is a complete overhaul of the sounds - no default sound remains!
Features include fully reworked button and switch sounds, avionics fans and ambience, ground rolls and touchdowns, engine soun...
The sounds are one of the weaker aspects, the switches all sound quite plasticky, so this will be a big upgrade
i just pray for the erj
it's slowly getting there
it still does weird LNAV stuff
it cuts the corners on approaches way, way too much
but they've made some good progress on their custom FMS and autopilot stuff, and it'll pay off soon for sure
first major issue i have had with the TU-154
SASL crash
- So SASL crashed and immediately broke the radio's
- I reset the breakers as shown in the flight manual
- the breakers resetting then tripped sasl to shut down the relevant system and because it wasn't present the switch essentially did nothing
- I reset the batteries, engine gen's, APU and a few other things that cause the aircraft to break even more because they rely on SASL to work
- aircraft essentially reset to an "un-activated state"
sent an email to one of the guys maintaining the addon
Thinking of getting a flight sim
I can run P3D but Idk what people would think of me running P3D
Charter flight to Gran Canaria
XP12?
Iβm late, but so theyβre doing a 777
I gotta say I donβt wanna spend much, but having flown on those things probably already over a hundred times, Iβm definitely gonna be buying it quite quickly
once the 777 releases, that might be P3D gone from my system for good
sadly no video of it
on the subject of 777's.....
the new FF one should be just around the corner
this too me seems to suggest different window configs based on liveries
r these new pics
ye
2 months at most I think
If these are anything to go off of then this should blow the PMDG out of the water
it will
Take a dive into the A380X, and see how we fly!
Please Note: The A380X is still in development and the video does not depict the final product.

im wet
can't watch it right now, but i assume no hint of a release date or even estimate?
Watched it, looks like that's a no
There isn't one
heathrow dep
fwiw my friend is at fsweekend, and overhead one of the fbw devs saying at least 3months minimum, so still a bit out for the 380
its freeware and open source so my expectation is they'll release it in a state of a to b and they improve it overtime like the fbw320n
KMMH -> KPVF
The current progress toward Alaska so far... really need to make progress with this more often
BA1390
plen
NH3822
still learning landings, i havent crashed yet though, just some really offcenter landings
First screenshot
I think when Iβm back I might install FSX again
See if I can get some gooooood aerosoft action going
P3D is way too much of a pain in the ass to get running
i bought the aerosoft A318/A319/A320/A321 during the spring sale, only to find out that you HAVE to own a physical throttle to use it
cant even use my xbox controller to control the throttle
it needs to be a physical throttle
and i definately did not use MSFS timeskip feature to finish this 5 hour flight in under an hour
i finally got a boing off the ground
took all night, but im confident on setting it up from cold and dark, and taking off, and from the looks of it i should be set to land as well
the shag carpet seats have me horrified to say the least, at the very best theyre sponges that soak up every single pilots ass juices
after a few 12 hour flights the smell is going to be unberable
Ewwwwwwwwwww
it's sheepskin, it's generally pretty good for seating, easily cleaned, etc
Yeah there is a reason they use it
Donβt really absorb ass juices
Warm, soft and comfortable
Those bead seat covers are great, gives your arse room to breathe.
you made a dodgy $ π
left will always remind me of this legendary video

...sometimes what a pilot sees in a day, people won't see in their lifetimes..
amazing Queenstown, New Zealand.
I invite people of the world to come visit this beautiful country and its people.
watch in 1080p for the detail the scenery deserves.
such a nice approach
Fly it like the Aerosoft
I should fly that again
Still holds up even now
I have been flying the CRJ lately, it didn't/doesn't do that
only seemed to struggle with holds
Not really sure what happened here, it looks like it tried to go for ISGAN but it was still reading OVLAM as the next waypoint
So yeah the way I usually do stuff like that with default FMSβs is fly manually, nav not engaged then fly direct to the first waypoint and engage nav
WN5723
only my second flight in the 737 and had a safe landing, a little rough and i missed turning on some lights, but its on the ground in 1 piece
Aerosoft is garbage
This is known
The CRJ is fine, imo. It's not been updated in a long while but it's a serviceable aircraft that will generally do what you ask it to do.
Plus new Boris sounds for it soon π
Is there a DHC-3 otter for msfs?
Milviz says it's on their list, no idea if/when it'll release
I got their airbus packs during the steam spring sale, and you literally cannot fly them with an Xbox controller
You have to have a physical throttle
Related, I am buying the thrustmaster airbus captains pack, with the flaps and speedbrake stuff, Iβm all in on airbus
Pretty decent kit for the price
It kind of sucks that it means Iβm limited to flying airbusses realistically, but it is what it is
Thereβs a bundle with rudder pedals too but theyβre kinda meh, the main one with throttle and t16000m is worth tho
I want to get rudder pedals too, but Iβm already way overspending with the throttle and side stic
Nah that stuff's fine for basically all civil aircraft
The side stick is really an airbus specific thing, the throttles are good with a lot of planes though
For dcs your really want a hotas with more switches but otherwise the airbus throttle and stick will be fine
Well yeah, but it's not like you can't fly a stick plane with a yoke or vice versa, it's fine
The stick is just a recolored t16000m, you can fly anything with it
Pretty good joystick for the price too, had a couple for years
I really cannot do DCS, too quick for me
The twist on the 16000m does me fine for taxiing and basic rudder controls, wouldnt hop in a heli with it tho
Thatβs what I was planning on using, itβs not fully realistic but it works
Really wish it twisted further, one of my gripes with it
nah its fine
i use a f15EX throttle
The main problem is button activated brakes, that fucks me up on sharp turns
its a bit jank with a afterburner detent and not realistic but owell
yeah fr, can only do so much
Yeah would be nice if the trigger was analog
Just imagine the passengers breaking their necks during every turn

Can only say good things about the T16000m.
I now have a Virpil stick, and while it's better than the T16000M, I think the 16000 is exceptional for the price. And I'm still using the throttle from that set (TWCS)
Did you grease the throttle at any point?
its doing me fine for now, defo do wanna get some rudder pedals but my fucking uncle sold my old tfrps
which iβm still holding a grudge on
I disagree. I have no rudder pedal and it's fine.
You can use the paddle in the back of the throttle or the twist grip
It's good enough once you get used to it
You can also use the little dial on the throttle as a brake if you really can't stand a button
I really want to get a virpil as my next hotas but the price is daunting
Disagree with?
My x55 is practically falling apart at this point π
The TWCS paddle is a bit shit as pedal replacement imo, the weird positioning makes it feel like there isnβt an equal amount of travel on both sides (even though there is afaik)
Well, I do close formation aerobatics, and since I started to lead I felt I had to get the best I could for the people that followed me π otherwise 16000 was good enough to follow
Iβm either between virpil and a full warthog setuo as the throttle with 16000m doesnt feel that great to use imo (could have got the manufacturing rng)
I think it's good enough for broad non-precise adjustments. I find it useful to taxi and for helicopters, everything else I use the twist grip
so expensive both ways
Also on Xplane I have the paddle set as tiller and the twist grip set as rudder, so that's nice π
Yeah very much so
I think rudder pedals are nice to have rather than necessary, even if you do stick and rudder
Ah yeah I agree
Virpil's soviet style stick option is a big draw for me, especially the analog brake trigger
Ah, then I just misunderstood your message, I apologise
the twist does me fine for most things, but rudder pedals would make specific movements a bit easier
npnp! I was confused if you were saying my uncle was right for selling my rudders smh
The one thing where rudder pedals really are almost a necessity is helos
Have you looked at winwing? A friend of mine has it, and apparently they're very good value for money if you're looking at something "above" the 16000
Especially gun helos, good luck being accurate with a twiststick
The twist I suppose is also semi correct in airliners cause iirc they use the tiller irl for taxiing but the pedals for braking
