It took quite a while, but I completed most of the content that the demo had to offer. Cleared all the major and minor corruptions, Freed all the dragons, Unlocked all the elemental forms, collected every egg, completed the dark armor set, and beat both bosses. And I gotta say... I like it!
On paper, "Spyro with DMC combat" sounds awesome, and in execution, It's a LOT of fun. Being able to switch elements quickly to diversify combos is such a cool idea, and it's a ton of fun trying new forms and moves mid-combo just to see how brutally you can destroy an enemy. Unfortunately, as much as I love this type of combat system, I'm not very good at it. While I did try to mix it up, I found myself relying almost entirely on the Earth form's counter, and the Nature form's auto regen when faced with fights in major corrupted areas. Whether the life drain from corruption is a bit steep or I just suck, I haven't quite figured out yet. But overall, the combat is fun, and that kept me coming back despite the fact that I died at least 15 times in combat alone.
Movement and exploration are pretty solid, too. Traversing the world becomes a lot faster with the help of the Lightning, Wind, and Water forms and I enjoyed collecting crystals and compendium entries whenever I came across them. I think that the game could definitely benefit from a map or just SOME sort of way to better navigate. I got lost quite a few times, especially while trying to unlock the Water form. I will admit, part of that is on me, because I didn't think to look behind a waterfall to find the last water crystal(I feel so stupid). But maybe a hint would've been nice, like how one of the dragons said that there was a secret in a nearby lake. Maybe more dialogue and landmarks to help direct players could be useful.
Also, I never came across any game-breaking bugs. The most I had was music not playing sometimes.
I just saw the character limit, so I'll finish my thoughts as part of this thread.
