I was thinking about Glyde combat system and how all of the elements interact with each other, what is good at what etc. I have come to a simple conclusion. Glyde seems to have this problem that was common to early shooter games. In those game you had your "starter weapon" (usually a pistol) that you were only using at the start of the game, but once you got better weapon, you were never ever switching back to "starter weapon", as it was just useless.
Glyde seems to have similar problem. Once you unlock your 1st element, there is no point to switching back to good old Orange Dragon. It just does not have any valid use case. All NPCs refer to you as "Orange Dragon", but it kinda does not make narrative sense since you are everything but Orange.
In Souls games it is done really well, as you can find better weapons, but your starter Long Sword is still a valid option, even for the final boss. So I guess it would be cool to make each element & default Glyde to "have its thing" and something that makes it stand out. So that everything would have its use case & would fill certain niche.
Just my 3 cents, I guess.
