#can u fly in this game

Hey there
The only way to fly is to pass the air rings. Then again your path is determined where you are going. Otherwise you can only glide
To explain a bit in case it isn't clear, passing through an air ring will force you to fly in the direction of the next air ring, acting as fast travel through the world. There is no free flight
its story related that Glyde cant fly compared to other dragons
but we still dont know why
and free flight would ruin the exploring anyway
Maybe free flight can be unlocked as a bonus after the game is completed. (This is a suggestion, not a fact about the game.)
would kinda destroy the whole purpose of the game
i dunno, think it worked pretty well in dawn of the dragon
free flight doesn't exactly mean unrestricted access to everything anyway
doesn't mean it should immediately be a thing in a game where the main character's name is literally a play on the word "glide," but it could be done without ruining exploration
I think they wont want to change their whole concept. Also I think its very advanced to add these restrictions for flying on certain places and such
there would be a lot of stuff to watch out for
maybe too much for the first game of one ^^
Free flight was trash in dotd, change my mind. Regardless, it does not inherently benefit the vision of this so far as far as i can tell. There will likely be a mode or mod for it anyway tho, so i wouldnt worry
Platforming isnt really platforming if you have free flight. In DOTD they force you down with winds and heavy orbs you carry. I wouldn't dismiss the idea entirely and I think everyone here including myself would like to fly around as Glyde. It is just the how/why which is still being discussed. For this reason we won't see fully-fledged flight in the demo, but can definitely see it used in the full game. 🙂
I honestly dunno how long it will be fun to have free flight anyway. It´s nice at the beginning like it was in Xenoblade Chronicles X, Spiderman (well not free flight but really free movement) and other games (I dont want to name because of spoilers). But after time its a matter of course and not really that much fun anymore. And also the both examples alone I mentioned same as other games prove that such a feature ruin nearly all of the exploring because you can get everywhere so easily without having a challenge to reach hard places. Which is the reason why I explored the map in Xenoblade mostly by foot and not mech.
Yeah. I'm thinking for specific challenges, another page from the classic Spyro book.
We'll see. No promises at this point! 😉
