It's largely an industry standard at this point and makes backing up files cleaner and more streamlined

Do you have an example?

#

like it would be next to replays

#

instead of in the program files steam appdata

#

or do you mean games that do this

#

bg3 does as does golf with your friends

#

off the top of my head

prisma zealot
#

No I mean examples of directories

viscid urchin
#

oh it would just be in like

#

C:\Users\Sarah\appdata\LocalLow\RJArcade\MechaSimultactics\Maps

#

so if I back up my mecha simultactics directory

#

for a reinstall or whatever

#

I save my maps

prisma zealot
#

C:\Users[User]\AppData\LocalLow\RJArcade\MechaSimultactics\Content\Maps\

#

You can use this folder

#

oh can you? nice

prisma zealot
#

Map editor auto saves there

#

Are you using BuiltInContent?

viscid urchin
#

oh okay the tournament organizer said to put it in the steamapps folder so I didn't realize you could also do it a right way

prisma zealot
#

Ah yeah, I do not recommend BuiltInContent. It's written on the wiki too. BuiltInContent contains the default maps packed with the game. In the future, it will be an archive so you can't edit it

you might still want to make a blank /Maps

#

just for clarity

oh there is one
