I would suggest re-running the install line with verify on the end to rule out any corrupt files

Seems as though multiplayer issues would be somewhat common across listen servers and dedicated servers.
I honestly dont have any experience with listen servers other than on the lan
99% of the time issues are caused by ports not being forwarded
or firewalls

Ok. Those cover 99% and then some of the multiplayer issues. Network stuff is rather complex so sometimes stuff doesn't work there but try those then ping is in help if needed..

hey does anyone know if there is a config setting related to network timeout threshold? our autosave just crossed 30 seconds and we're getting booted when autosave happens on a network connection timeout 30s error. It just started when the autosaves crossed that time interval, sometimes it takes 29.6 seconds and we don't get disconnected

I am having problems with my client when joining dedicated server.
I can move around and delete, but not place new buildings, they stay "ghosted" like there is lagg, and then after a while just dissappears.
is it normal that the trains have rubberbanding and the Splitter and merger slow down the belts ?
How far away are trains?
Vehicles will teleport to each node when you're farther than a certain distance away, so that might look like rubberbanding.

You know what, I'm actually doing this through a game of telephone with my buddy that hosts the server and I don't think that's the most productive, I'm just going to get him to join the discord and mitigate the middle man here

It'll run fine, but it'll get bogged down with a larger factory. So just beware. At some point, the save cycle time will exceed the timeout period (30 seconds) and then everyone will timeout at every save cycle.

Hi guys so im plannign to get a server from one of the cloud hosting for around 8 players, Shall i just focus on dedicated vcpu cores with high single performance scores? Is something like 2 dedicated vcpu with around 6gb ram and 20 gb storage enough?

When i see the Price that you pay 80$ for vServer, then you can Rent a dedicated Server, i pay for my now 48β¬ + 20β¬ for Win Server License and itΒ΄s a i7-6700K with 4GHz and 32Gig Ram 2* 256Gig SSD and ulimited Traffic.
Then you have a complete Server, that fit for more then only host 1 Game.
I'm personally using g-portal for my dedi, works fine. Haven't tried it with more then 4 people on the 10 slot tho.
hey does anyone have a good getting started guide for setting up a dedicated server? i've it it up and running locally and I can join, but i cant seem to get a friends to join remotely. i've forwarded the ports, but i cant seem to change the access from private to friends only to allow him to join

im on a dedicated server, it's a steamcmd box in my basement. i'm trying to have my friend connect but the session is set to 'private. when i try and chnage the session type, it doesnt save

the main thing to keep in mind about the dedicated server is that it only does relatively limited multithreading. it'll definitely benefit from having more than two cores, but probably not from having more than four
raw clock speed is nearly irrelevant on superscalar processors

I believe you also lose the ability to create anything in the "ficsmas" tabs of the customizer or build tool
it's dependent on the save file. it can be hosted on your computer, on a windows server, linux server - all that matters is that you move the save file (and you can upload it easily in the server manager console)

The smallest Server with normal CPU is Intel i5-9600K, 32gig DDR4 and 2 x 256GB NVMe or 2 x 1TB HDD and unlimited Traffic for 50β¬ when you use Linux.
I think you can find Provider that use normal PC CPUΒ΄s in other CountryΒ΄s, too

Hi, first post here.
I tried to set up a dedicated server on a secondary computer I have at home.
I've set up dedicated server before, so that wasn't a problem.
I use Windows 10 and run Satisfactory through Steam.
And when I just had set it up, it worked fine for me and my friend, but I had to restart the server once, and now it only shows "Private" in Session settings, and it won't revert to "Friends only".
I read up on the issue, and copied the save file to my gaming PC, and the setting was already set to "Friends only" in Session Settings.
I reapplied the setting, saved the game, and brought it back to my server PC, and loaded up the game.
But it still doesn't work.
Tried to do some searching on this Discord, but I'm still clueless.
Is there any progress on the fix for this?
Try shutting down the server from the console inside satisfactory, I think that happened to me at the beginning. Open console at the bottom write βexitβ server should stop, then start it up again see if that fixes it

hey yall, we're having an issue on our dedicated server where we get disconnected during autosave. I've adjusted the connectiontimout setting in Engine.ini to 60.0, but its still disconnecting us if the save takes longer than 30 seconds - almost like the timeout isn't reading from the same setting. has anyone else run into this problem?
Hi, I have a problem running a dedicated server.
Gifts are not visible, but obstruct building. Loading a save game into Single Player does not show any signs of gifts in obstructed locations. It first appeared with gifts not being visible for some players, but now no one can see the problematic gifts.
Is there any way of fixing these save games? Starting over isn't really an option as about 1000 hours of playtime (4-5 players) have been invested already.
you might be better off turning the seasonal off.
To disable ficsmas on your dedicated server, you need to run this command from the server console:
FG.DisableSeasonalEvents 1

The gift that fall from the sky should auto-despawn after a set time period. Iβve had them vanish when I get close enough and the game redraws the immediate vicinity

A few others have had that issue and I think it was due to an issue with their game not authenticating with epic so the server would just keep assuming they are a new player because it wasn't getting a consistent player id

if its a full qemu VM that would make sense why its using a gig more ram

how do I set server query, Beacon Port and Connect port?
I do have access to my router
I assume Port forwarding is Connect port

if its on same computer use localhost or 127.0.0.1
or use lan ip if its on another computer
or net ip if its not near you

Hello there ! Dedicated server tool by Steam & Epic Game Store crashed when a player tries to connect. The crash happens when the game is loading for the player. The server was functioning perfectly until today. Do you have a solution ?
I'm finding this NOT to be the case. It stops when no players are in.
Anyone know why the server STOPS activity (no production) when no players are in? I mean, I literally put a hard drive in the MAM, and left the game (last player on the server left). I jumped back in hours later, and the MAM was processing the drive, just as when I left it.
I was not expecting this. Is there a way to config the dedicated server to continue to run the game with no players?

Gonna move the savegame to local and make sure it works without the dedicated server in the way. But we're all the way to halfway done with a full scale nuclear plant, so it's been pretty reliable up until all of a sudden.

Me and my buddy went to get on our server and we got in game and noticed our inventory was empty and we started back at the hub which isn't where we logged off at. Any ideas why this is happening?

and your empty inventory was server didnt know who you were so u were offline and got a new body
could be server just needed reboot or ur launcher just needed to log out and in so it wsa fresh and would do the client stuff so server knows u

basically your epic or steam user id is how the game tells the server who you are so if there is an issue there the server will assume you are a new player
thus spawning at base with nothing
your body is likely where you left it
and you will have to go kill it to get your shit back
hint almost always verify files is steam client π . im not a fan of either .. i just want them to update my games properly
UPDATE: Our crates are here where we originally spawned but aren't showing on the map. Just need to get some hazmat suits now because we were in at the time a non radiation zone and now its all radiation from the plutonium pellets lol

@woeful sage The game session must be restarted roughly once every 24 hours, to my knowledge there's no way to change this. The main reason from my understanding is to prevent issues from building up from potential bugs or other engine related things.
This happens if you play single player, it will just re-enter your client, with the server you'll have to manually rejoin.
I wish it didn't take like a minute for the server manager to connect to my local server. even when I'm in the world already.

Early access is installed by default. You have to provide the beta flag to steamcmd to install experimental

to do that you need to do some port forwarding in your router
and possibly opening some ports on the computer running the server

Hey everyone, I'm hoping for some help on this one. I'm running a dedi satisfactory server service on an ubuntu20 HyperV VM on my workstation and i'm trying to migrate it to a bigger server I have behind me to offload the compute load, The new VM is same version of OS and I ran the same commands to get it installed..
The gameserver seems to come up fine but when I connect, in game it tries to connect but then gives a timeout error... in game... The server's log throws a couple of errors but they're all pretty non descriptive to me, Any ideas?
