I can't use 8888 port because another game server so can I somehow change it to eny another port
waht are the new ports
default 7777 and 8888
-ReliablePort=8888 or change in start command
Do I need both ports?
yes
okay thanks
I have an issue where I can connect to the server but get left hanging and get this error in logs

It was my ISP router, I was using it in bridge mode, had to redo the bridge mode
hi how can i changed the savefile from docker i want to start from my brother savefile
in volumes you defined a directory in that there is your save in /saved/server/....
So I've updated my ports and the firewall is already updated but I am still stuck in infinite loading when trying to join my local dedicated server.
To say this is beyond frustrating is an understatement as I cannot find any other answers on what to do - Server has been updated, I can hear my pioneer while in the loading screen - I've removed and re-added the server in server manager.
thx now my server works like a charm
Hi, completely different question. My dedicated server just updatet to 1.1 and my friend can finally join. (No loading screen issues), but our factory uses trucks and they are lagging like crazy. Does anyone know how to fix this, the server network quality is set to high and i got about 40% cpu and 40% ram left over.
It can also be a trucks issue hahaha
hey yall. im setting up my server for the first time but after launching i get the messege in the server manager that my game version is mismatched BUT ive ran my updater 4 times and it will not update to the current 1.1 version. any tips?
im doing this via steamCMD
What is the full command you using
Just copy and paste
and is it linux or windows
@echo off
:: Set variables
set STEAMCMD_DIR=C:\steamcmd
set SERVER_DIR=C:\satisfactory_server
set APP_ID=1690800
:: Optional: Timestamp for logs
echo Updating Satisfactory Dedicated Server - %date% %time%
:: Run SteamCMD to update/validate server
%STEAMCMD_DIR%\steamcmd.exe ^
+login anonymous ^
+app_update %APP_ID% validate ^
+quit
:: Wait for user confirmation if run by double-click
echo.
echo Update complete. Press any key to exit.
pause >nul
its a win 19 server VM im running via proxmox on my home server lab
Idk bout windows, i only have experience on proxmox combined with linux
basically the same thing except for the win paths being different, lol id much prefer to do this on linux buuuut
i run a conans exile server too on this stack and it wont work with linux without doing bs
. for you Kweepah
?
i had read on a few reddit posts the dedicated server build lags behind the release of the game so sometimes it takes a but for the update to be released but its looking like a few of yall in here its working for so that must be wrong
wrong person sorry
I had a issue bout trucks, we fixed the 8888 issue.
Hahahah nw
U trying to help
i meant @limpid obsidian
Yes, everything has been done
I will try restarting the computer, though I'm doubtful of it making a difference
I have both 7777 & 8888 forwarded
any router shenanigans like bridge mode
no, it was working fine prior to update for a month
So I went and added the 8888 to all necessary locations and it's just endless loading
Resolved it!
Port 8888 needs to be opened when forwarding ports
if ya don't you end up stuck in the loading screen.
both local IP and DDNS hostname now work to connect a client to the game server
The server API mentions it's listening on 7777 on boot, no clue if that means anything
yeah
7777 is important. it was also already forwarded as all other versions of the dedicated server needed 7777 to be open if you want to connect from outside the local network
Launching server again - Let's see if it wants to work
I'm not sure where to put the forced server port
What config file it goes into
I launch via the exe instead of steam because steam won't let you run both the server and game simultaneously
my friends aren't able to build in a certain area and the objects appear blue on our server
same problem here
and chopping down trees also doesnt work correctly
Hey, asking as I'm within the Nitrado server ecosystem for the game and wanting to know if I can ask what recourse I can go through to get my save back. As I lost server owner access, have access tot he web interface, unable to update the passwords after accidentally removing the server from my server list, so can't get into any advanced settings to pull the save into a backup that way.
i still no matter what i do cannot get the server version to update from 385279 to the current 416835
I've just updated a shortcut with the reliableport command added on the end and checking now to see if it functions
Same issue
Looked through the logs and the only error I could find was this. Happens right after it accepts the connection from the client.
Verifying server files as we speak
So I have no idea if it was verifying or launching through steam in offline mode that fixed it, but it is finally fixed - Hopefully this helps someone else in the future
Anyone know if this bug was fixed a year later now? https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1fedhk5/comment/ln234bi/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Tired of having to restart every 30 min
managed to play now but the graphics is not that smooth lol
server doesnt render graphics, so its a client side issue
no settings need to change on server?
welp maybe ill let it load for some time
is this cpu usage fine?
Yeah, should be fine
Your CPU may be slow, Satisfactory requires strong single-core performance
Anyone else having foundation placement issues edit: anything placement issues? Also I too have high CPU usage
Update: nope. Still goofy as hell online play. I have a nice clean install with perfect offline play. But canβt even delete a wall online
In my own dedi
god damn the man showed up thanks for image π
the cpu usage bug is still here......
Had a few people open issues on the repo, but the image was updated to support 1.1 when it was released into early access π
What CPU usage bug?
that mean it's up running and forwarded π
every 30min it's add 50% more usage, like in big chunks
it only goes UP never down
no one is on the server
What CPU are you using?
I too have this issue. i have never had it previously
i3-8100
1.0 was fine with 30 to 50% all cores
but since experimental 1.1, it just takes big bites of the CPU over time and goes haywire
Damn, that's frustrating!
That CPU is a little slow, but if it was fine for 1.0 then it shouldn't be an issue here for sure
What console tool shows this? Ehat is the command for this?
i updated my satisfactory server and i can no longer get into the game with an old save or new save. i believe the player state is the issue.
the server was working yesterday, the only change was updating to 1.1
steps taken:
- allowed the FactoryGame.exe through firewall for both inbound and outbound
- created new server files
also oops, i didn't see his message
Did you allow all 3 ports?
7777/tcp, 7777/udp, 8888/tcp
all 3 are allowed yes
i also cant connect locally
If it's happening with a fresh server save, it's a connection issue π
Double check your system firewalls
anything specific away from the ports and allowing the exe?
because all of the rules are created.
as i mentioned before it worked before the update
Should be just those. It's easy to have missed either a software or hardware firewall somewhere along the line. You mention before the update, I assume you weren't playing 1.1 EA, but were playing 1.0 instead?
If so, I still suspect it's a connection issue
question, does anyone of you know how to log SF ?
Could you elaborate what you mean?
for server logs
debian 12
On the system itself? Or Docker?
system itself
Is there any config update required by1.0 -> 1.1 ?
ports
you need 7777tcp/udp 8888/tcp
Just port 8888/tcp
Ports 7777/tcp and 7777/udp were added in 1.0
But are still required, to be clear
Yes
the CPU bug is weird
sometimes it takes 2min to take 100% all cores
sometimes it takes 8h before it's 100% all cores
there's is no reasons nor rhymes
What is it with port 15777 and 15000? Are they stull required?
i was getting the cpu usage before, been running 5 hours now, haven't seen it yet, but will keep it running
Sounds like an annoying bug to fix π
it's goddam weird
with players on the server VS off the servers has virtually no effect on the bug
well, it was WORST without players
blank save, no users, didnt notice it till 9 cores maxed out, shut the server down for a while
back in experimental
same thing
blank world
no one
not an single connection was made to the server
Spike to 100%
I solved my own problem of not having access to my own Nitrado server.
Pulled the save data through the interface on Nitrado website to save somewhere on my machine(I saved it in two locations because paranoia), loaded the save in singleplayer to check it was the right save time/version just to be sure (it was), reinstall the game on the Nitrado server, go through the server setup process again in game as first log on, add the previously pulled save file onto the spun up server and load the save from there.
Owner/admin access regained
No ending of subscription time to get a new server, just a few dubious moments along the way.
it's more difficult to see on high-end servers cause well, it takes more time for the bug to arrive, by the time the bug is in full action for those servers, the automatic restart get's triggered
uhoh
it's still connected, just weird user side bug, m'okay
Why is only one core is in use?
It's a game server
Single threaded process.
They're typically single-thread heavy. Satisfactory in particular relies on a lot of single-threaded logic which cannot be offloaded to other threads
Thx, it fixed my connection issues.
Have you had issues where placing/destroying items/foundations/etc.. would take forever to render client side? and did this fix it?
I don't had theat issue. I had infinite loading screen.
argh, yeah i had that too at some point. I just cant figure out my item placement and destruction issue
anyone can help diagnose dedicated server?
fresh install on pterodactyl, 27015 7777 udp/tcp open 8888 tcp,
adding ip to server manager prompts pw
connecting to server, stuck in loading screen
console doesnt provide anything helpful
port 8888 is being blocked somewhere
I have this in this way seted up on pero panel and works
which egg are you using? do i need new one or will the 1.0 one work
The 1.0 is wroking for me
the 1.0 egg will work but you will need to add something to the startup argument
ah
./Engine/Binaries/Linux/*-Linux-Shipping FactoryGame ?listen -Port=27015 $(if false; then echo "-DisableSeasonalEvents"; fi)
ships with this
I have this:
./Engine/Binaries/Linux/*-Linux-Shipping FactoryGame ?listen -Port=7777 -ServerQueryPort={{QUERY_PORT}} -BeaconPort={{BEACON_PORT}} $(if {{DISABLE_SEASONAL}}; then echo "-DisableSeasonalEvents"; fi)
Idk if it is the newest but it works
both look to be pre 1.0
but works
here is mine from 1.0 with the change for 1.1: ./Engine/Binaries/Linux/*-Linux-Shipping FactoryGame -Port={{SERVER_PORT}} -ReliablePort=8888
What Version is your egg.json ?
Where do you get the new one from?
Pterodactyl Community Egg Repository, i can DM you the direct link if you would like
how do i add bleuprints to my server
Just copy in the folder of the bluprints, i think.
wheres that located
I always back up this folder if I backup my blueprints but I never realy uploded any of them waht I donwloded from somwhere so I dont know if it works like this:
/home/container/config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/blueprints/<GameName>
thats for a local game save
What I sent?
With the patch 1.1 they have added a DESYNC bug, does anyone else have the problem with the foundations?
yes
No it is for the server.
it starts at home
yes
Anyone else having infinite loading screen issues?
I had
It was due to not opening the port 8888
I'm going through this right now, but i do have port 8888 exposed, ot atleast it looks so
So is beacon port 15000 no longer used?
just TCP for 8888 right?
Port 15000 hasn't been used since pre 1.0
You need ports 7777/tcp, 7777/udp, and 8888/tcp
oh
i goofed my service definition.
I can now curl the port, wolveix, love the container.
and magic, Palden, you should be able to curl -k https://<ip>:8888 if you can't and you have a blank screen you ran into my problem something is in the way of you getting of port 8888, my idiot self hand crafted my kube spec and didn't have the target port correct for 8888
anyone know how to fix
restart the server
Update the server
what command on SteamCMD
woleveix container auto does that
https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Dedicated_servers you need to re-run th steam command if you manually installed
any fix to the infinite loading screen?
so run a manual update?
Besides allowing port 8888 on tcp, idk
port 8888 was my trick, but again. wolveix did alot of the heavy lifting, there's an update to the command that you need to use and that's in the docs for the dedicated server
i'm using linuxgsm so the port might be easier
and @magic herald I think so, should just execute and get the latest version of the game server
I'm not sure how you initially setup.
does anyone use shockbyte
doesnt seem that they updated to port 8888 yet and you cant change it your self
why do we need to upodate the ports?
idk let a fckin dev explain that
still hasnt worked
so I tried to update my server to 1.1 with the following cmmand
/usr/games/steamcmd +force_install_dir "/home/satisfactory/server" +login anonymous +app_update 1690800 validate +quit
shouldn't that do it?
it seems that my server is still on 1.0
or am I doing something wrong?
I cant seem to connect to my server after updating to 1.1
no mods, default settings, all tested and working fine on 1.0 before update.
Client just sits on an inf. loading screen. and server just repeats this message
"NotifyAcceptingConnection accepted aggregation (my id and IP)"
infinite loading screen usually means 2nd port that is defaulted to 8888 is not reachable.
i am having the same issue
... I figured out what my problem was
... Just needed to restart the service thats all
... which makes sense
so I stopped the service, re-applied the updated (all it did was verify it I think), and re-started
I think I still need to map port 8888 through though
by just closing the factory server program or is there a different procedure
if I remembe right, I need 7777 and 8888 now
I stopped and restarted the systemd service
(I am using my own server hardware, its running ubuntu)
... I have webmin installed , so I just go to services and stop and re-start there
there is a CLI command for that though
do u host through a provider?
no... running at my house
did i ping you?
i hosst on another computer in my house using steam cmd
no i replied to baily i understaand what using your own server hadware means
okay
sorry that was rude
i updated in the stem cmd service but it doesnt seem to be booting up 101
no worries...
after hours of waiting, the CPU is back in haywire
1.1
i use shockbyte and they havent updated ports to 8888 yet
such a rtrded change from devs
so they added port 8888 with 1.1?
ye
u have to add it
and i cannot manually add it
shockbyte still doesnt know even after 6 hours
so they added it why?
who knows
ok I got mine to conect but I had to open port 8888 on both TCP and UDP to get it to work.
thanks for the help
send your server logs of that session and the save file running on it..
Anyone using wolveix's docker container and has upgraded to 1.1? Getting some issues
You need more cores, give it more
Had server running 1.0 perfectly fine, I could connect and external could connect, upgraded, added the new port, port forwarded 8888, and now none of the ports are apparently open?
I fixxed the issue btw if you use a website server host
i'm just going to copypast what i've told on the qa site https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/post/67efeb096b7c573196363779
hi sorry for the VERY late reply, here's the log from release 1.1 where i still have the same issue. from 23h40 to 01h10 no one was connected on the server, when i checked back at 1 am the server was a 100% but nothing was in the log's
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lPIW80-BfJurrleaLlbytXvXQ_eXtb2G?usp=sharing
there's an ironic part where i feel that wen i was connected [before 23h30] the bug was rising slower.
before i left, the server was around [100% 100% 35% 45%], wen i came back it was just [100% 100% 100% 100%].
also, i'm getting that problem on an brand new save file too
it's currently 1:35am and i'm dying
I'm using that same container. All I had to do was edit my docker-compose.yaml to include mapping port 8888, restart the container, and everything worked.
You didnβt add port 8888 through the user interface? Iβm running it on my unraid server
no, I don't have a gui for it; I just edited the file by hand
Gotcha, going to have to do some digging I guess
For bulk change data exchange
Has anyone been getting this error?
Looks like we need to forward port 27777 too ?
Perhaps that was also when it was in experimental...
... I gues I am a still a little fuzzy on the port forwards
do i need to switch my server over to 8888 with a -port= or do I keep it on 7777 and just also open 8888?
PERFECT question im a
im sitting here wondering the same thing
Precisely the same question I have haha
Save yourself some time. Go move your save file as a copy/back up to the array, nuke the container and replace your save file
Fun fact, port forwarding just started working after a took a moment to go eat dinner
I LOVE NETWORKING
But yes this was honestly probably the correct thing to do
I genuinely do love networking lol
Networking always feels like the most overlycomplicated thing in the world for no reason
Always a blackbox where sometimes something works and sometimes it doesn't
Even though i've done the exact same thing
I am using the same docker on Unraid. How did you resolve this?
can someone tell me the number of files and hte file sizes of the 1.1 update so Ican tell if I actually have the whole thing there or not?
steamcmd has never really worked right, and 9 times out of 10 it quits before it finishes
I just need to know the number of fiels and the total size
Save files and blueprint files make that impossible. They're stored within the server directory too. Or do you just want steam cmd files
no, hte update goes into its own folder, the user files are up in the .config folder
in linux
the commadn I am running is:
/usr/games/steamcmd +force_install_dir "/home/satisfactory/server" +login anonymous +app_update 1690800 validate +quit
Why don't you boot the game and it will or will not tell you version mismatch when you try to join
so that puts the files into /home/satisfactory/server
what happens is it gets some way into the download or validation, then throws an error like this : IPC function call IClientAppManager::GetUpdateInfo took too long: 44 msec
then quits
sometiems it gets through past the download and install, then it quits when it validates... so I want to know if I actually have the right number of files and total size
sometimes the server works, but crashes after an hour or so
Did you set up the extra port? 8888
yeah
@formal sable Okay, but What are you gonna do if you don't have the right number of files.
Its steamcmd thats the problem.
then Ill give up
and just go to windows server I suppose
NO
this is driving me nuts...
Reboot the machine/VM ?
yeah, several times
its just ubuntu
steamcmd keeps failing
Ive also tried to login with my acount (rather than anonymous)
the network stack on the VM works just fine
well, it got me too whoever had this issue
this is what my install looks like, after I remove everything in the /server folder: https://pastebin.com/5URccK6y
I just get that error all the time, at random places in the download/update process
so I can never finish it
@formal sable Run the command from the terminal leave out the usr path/directory you listed earlier.
Excluding quotes
"steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 1690800 validate +quit"
@nocturne crescent nah.. does the same thing...
although Id id get a success earlier... so maybe I have it now...
I am not sure
what did you do to fix it? I have shockbyte and they barely respond to my tickets
Got it all worked out now! For visibility, in the Unraid UI, I just removed TCP Port 1 and added -ReliablePort=8888 to the GameParameters. Then I opened / forwarded8888 on my router and after a few minutes everything was up and running.
Is there a fix for Shockbyte on 1.1? Haven't found one online yet today. (Stuck on loading screen)
@urban jay save your server file just in case but
Kill the server
Switch it to experimental and latest build
Turn it back on
I shut it down and rebooted it a few times. Will try switching to experimental.
It's under edit server type
I think its ok to change it back to stable but I never tried
Where is the main save file located in the folder tree?
Do it through the game
Go to manage saves
And download it
Idk i did it just incase
Or idk what ur talking ab
Did your port forwarding also take a couple minutes lol
I wasnt able to get it to load with the experimental server
anybody else experiencing infinite loading screens/timeout on 1.1 updates? I see lots of "NotifyAcceptingConnection" logs but not able to connect
looks like yes from a search
The dedicated server was updated?
yes
I use steamcmd, but yes
I just didn't update it. Just the mods. Did a restart. Working. Minus the mods from modders who can't be on time.
I don't use any mods if that's helpful
ah ok looks like I need to:
ok I got mine to conect but I had to open port 8888 on both TCP and UDP to get it to work.
@formal sable You try nuking it and starting over? "rm -rf ~/satisfactory/" (backup your world before you do.)
Some mods are just the bees knees.
I've never seen a bees knees so I'll take your word for it
yeah... done that several times... the saves are held in a seperate folder
in /home/satisfactory/.config
the /home/satisfactory/sever appear to be the program files
under opt if I remember. I always say "make sure you back up X or Y" before a rm -rf command though. Force of habbit.
so I remove that and start over
I also do hte updates switched to the satisfactory user
becasue everything goes into /home/satisfactory/server and the satisfactory user (group and user) owns everything in there
since the 1.1 update, other folks haven't been able to connect. I've tried adding the following to my ./lgsm/config-lgsm/sfserver/common.cfg:
startparameters="FactoryGame -Port=${port} -ServerQueryPort=${queryport} -BeaconPort=${beaconport} -ReliablePort=8888 -log"
I can see that it is listening:
sfserver@bradbuntu:~$ ss -tuplwn | grep FactoryServer-L
udp UNCONN 0 0 0.0.0.0:7777 0.0.0.0:* users:(("FactoryServer-L",pid=24286,fd=14))
tcp LISTEN 0 8 0.0.0.0:8888 0.0.0.0:* users:(("FactoryServer-L",pid=24286,fd=15))
tcp LISTEN 0 16 0.0.0.0:7777 0.0.0.0:* users:(("FactoryServer-L",pid=24286,fd=13))
My ports are forwarded. Can anyone offer something to try next (before a nuclear option). I don't see any other pins that don't just say to use the new -ReliablePort option?
Stupid question maybe, you're part of the group as well right?
Do you use SMM at all?
to manage the server mods
pretend like i am stupid i dont know much all i know is have to change port to 8888 on shockbite dont know how
anyhow I think I have my server up now.... I would just love it if someone could try to join it, just to see if I have the networking set up right with my router ...
I just started a fresh save
If I can solve my problem, I'll remember to come back here and ping you at the least.
I know how useful it is having least 1 more to make sure things work.
friend tries to join server and i can see him turning only but he stays on loading screen (on his pc) can anyone help out?

I believe my friends described the same symptom
same
soooo is this a 1.1 issue?
ya
aw. thats not very Satisfactory π¦
strange that i can get in. unless its because im on the same network
damn. G Portal still hasnt updated.... sad day
The statsifactory server is still trying to ping 7777 portal even though the game know requires 8888, right?
This is my first time running a server and I built it around 7777 TCP.
My friend can see that I am in but can't join gives a timeout
it uses both
Do i have to forward both in order for it to work
yes, yo uhave to give it the resources it uses for it to work
since the 1.1 update, other folks haven'
yes. you need 7777 UDP, 7777 TCP, and 8888 TCP
It doesn't allow me to forward both 7777 UDP & TCP, it only allows one
if you can't make a single rule that forwards both, would it let you make two separate rules, one for each?
it does allow either TCP or UDP but when I put it forward the port check tool says the port is closed
the firewall already added for both rules
I'm probably not familiar with your particular router. Mine just has a BOTH option. I'd try to look into some documentation/help/faq for your router. I fee like it is pretty common to allow both protocols
my route is td-w9970
where would i go to run this command?
"steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 1690800 validate +quit"
is it just like command prompt on windows?
cmd or powershell
I think that steamcmd is an executable name, and you would have to install it before being able to run the command
okay, and how can i make it so that the reliable port of the server is 8888? (i am hosting the server using a spare laptop, running the dedicated server tool on steam)
"As of Patch 1.1.0.0, port number 8888 is required to be used for TCP."
Port forwarding happens on your router's firmware
This is probably why we are all having issues
Previously it was only port 7777 UDP/TCP. now both are required
its default so u dont need to pass arg for it
Alright, this is good info. I have seen this happen to me internally on some specific save file but never on new save file, and never when hosting on windows.
What hardware dose this server even need?
Thanks, this solved my issue. I was stuck in the respawn screen. Opened firewall 8888. Fixed!
so how doe the -Port and -ReliablePort interact? I need both it seems.
and they need to be different now?
ye, seems like it
Hello here is my situation and i need some adviceβ¦
I've a dedicated server for satisfactory, the server is a opensuse with portainer and the docker from wolveix/satisfactory-server:latest
ENV are set as this
SERVERGAMEPORT 57777
SERVERMESSAGINGPORT 58888
port were set on 67777 and 68888 because my box must be set on port > 50000 if i want to NAT.
Since the 1.1 i'm not capable to join the game, it block on the loading page, the sound is like the game is ready (i hear correctly the machine or when i'm firing weapon).
Same for the distant player's.
For me the problem is not from the box because i'm playing directy on my LAN.
What i've already test:
- Opening Both TCP and UDP for 57777 and 58888 on portainer
- Modify Engine.ini with
[/Script/ReliableMessaging.ReliableMessagingTCPFactory]
PortRangeBegin=58888
PortRangeLength=512
ExternalPortRangeBegin=-1
No more idea for the moment, so if you have one⦠Regards
I didn't modify the config, as I only host a single server and want it to use just the single port (8888), not the range of 8888 + 512 in my case
all I had to do was change the port forwarding
then it worked again
Ports can only go up to 65535, I'd start with changing the allocated ports to something between 60000 and 65535. And even though you changed the port range in the Engine.ini, that will be overridden by the SERVERMESSAGINGPORT environment variable that is set in the container.
Add -ReliablePort=68888 in start command.
68888 is out of range and will not work.
You're my hero thx for that info β€οΈ
I've corect it and not working.
Ok, a server log might help. Feel free to DM that to me.
I made an another test with SERVERGAMEPORT and SERVERMESSAGINGPORT back to 7777 and 8888 and it work in local.
So i change only the SERVERMESSAGINGPORT and it work but only the SERVERGAMEPORT not working
So for me it seems that the SERVERGAMEPORT can't be change anymore and must stay in 7777
port are now 57777 and 58888
Thats not true. My port is 15500 and Works fine.
dedicated server stopped working after the update and I'm not sure what needs to be changed
this should amke it work no?
is there some config I need to change?
same for me but i dont have public ip and use playit gg
i mean server works and listed in game but i have infinite loading
so we just nuked the instance and installed it again
it seems to have the new reliableport option now
waiting for it to come online
(world was backed up)
helped with listed server but got infinite loading screen, tried already every mixed option of porting and reliable porting same as on playit website
i already start new vm and its same ;c
still installing at the moment
Tell me your playit.gg port
And satisfactory normal port + reliable port
From your playit.gg panel, this should look like that
1.playit.gg tcp+udp+2
local - 8888
public - 20551
- Satis
factoryserver.sh - port=8888
i mixed this both on any way, server is listed but got infinite loading scree, in terminal i see connection accepted with provided login
Set in satisfactory the normal port to port 20551 and reliable port to 20552
you mean i factoryserver sh file ?
Yep
now server is not listed π to be sure i provided everything i paste screens
when i change port in sh file to 8888 it's listed but then joining to server have infinite loading π
weird AF π
i got turned off firewall on vm
but its maybe some problem on my pc donno xd
i dont need even reliable port in sh file
just port 8888 worked
You forgot to put 20551 as local address in playit.gg too
So
playit local - 20551
public - obvious 20551
server port - 20551
server reliable port 20552
lol it worked
but how this reliable port change anything ?
I'm having an issue: I updated my linux-based dedicated server and it had lots of issues with "version differences". I eventually deleted the instance and re-installed the server and now I'm able to join. BUT, now I'm stuck on an indefinite loading screen. Now, I do hear gamesounds in the loading screen, so I'm unsure if this is a dedicated server problem or a more local problem. Any ideas? Any fixes?
Cause satisfactory passes too much data on 1 port, so they splited in 2.
that makes no sense lol. The reason is some architecture change in how ports are allocated. There is no limit to the data you can pass through a port.
is there official severs or is this a chat for people who want to sever host?
this is for hosting your own server
there are many providers that offer paid hosting services
i reran the app_update on steamcmd and it said it was successfull and fully installed but none of my files updated
what command did you run exactly?
tcp take long ass time to receive and send data
And udp too much data is lost in trafic costing desync
So it was better to have an second tcp port to get more data passed and having it safely arrived so both client and server are still in sync.
i do
force_install_dir "folder"
login anonymous
app_update 1690800 validate
Are you on linux or windows ?
windows
that should do it usually tbh
never done it on windows either tho
on windows you can install the server from the steam GUI too if you want
the wiki recommends this command to all-in-one install it:
.\steamcmd.exe +force_install_dir C:\GameServers\SatisfactoryServer +login anonymous +app_update 1690800 -beta public validate +quit
i have a server working using custom port 6666 and 8888 for the new tcp traffic, but whenever i try to change the tcp traffic port to 6667 it doesnt work anymore even tho the port is registrerd as open it just says cant connect to api in satisfactory
anyone have any tips?
So I'm running a dedicated server (on GPortal) and started a new save with 1.1 ... and so many things are broken. Desync every 10-20 minutes (so you can't build anything any more). Research on the MAM does not work until you log out and back in.
From the Q&A site I see plenty of threads of others having the same problems, and it seems those have been around ever since 1.1 went on experimental. Was there any communication from Coffestain about these issues and a possible timeframe for a fix? Dedicated server is almost unplayable right now. <@&370483737957236737>
Is there a way I can change what ports my hosted dedicated server uses without modifying the startup command? Itβs a Linux server and the host hasnβt updated for the new reliable port requirement yet. I havenβt found a way to modify the startup command through the portal but have access to all the game files.
Thx a lot for patience and help β€οΈ
the server seems to crash when autosaving?
When i start it it works fine but when it autosaves i can't build anything, i don't get disconnected though
for example if i try to place a foundation it says this in console:
2025.06.11-13.43.11:499][397]LogNetPackageMap: Warning: UPackageMapClient::InternalLoadObject: Unable to resolve default guid from client: ObjectName: Build_Ramp_8x4_01_C_2147459044, ObjOuter: /Game/FactoryGame/Map/GameLevel01/Persistent_Level.Persistent_Level:PersistentLevel ```
then just leaves the blue hologram in place for a while
i can stand on the foundation even though i can't see it, when i do this spams in console:
[2025.06.11-13.45.52:349][198]LogNetPackageMap: Warning: FNetGUIDCache::SupportsObject: LightweightCollisionComponent /Game/FactoryGame/Map/GameLevel01/Persistent_Level.Persistent_Level:PersistentLevel.AbstractInstanceManager_2147481981.LightweightCollisionComponent_2147474010 NOT Supported.

My server shows its there.. Says Server name pending / Not Authenticated. But says Offline. i have ports 7777 and 8888 open in my router.
everything works again after reconnecting but happens again on every autosave btw
says New/Old Root size mismatch too
Hello guys
Im looking for solution how to rename session name in dedicated linux server.
I have problem with blueprints. They don't want to save in blueprint designer. I believe renaming session name is a solution.
download the save then either in your client update it or upload to SCIM and update it there
Thank you Macie
Does anyone know why the high CPU usage even in idle? Like, no players on now.
Unfortunately, it didn't help with blueprints. When I create blueprints in the designer, I can't find them in the game. The files in the directory are created, but they are not visible in the game...
my server just jumped in cpu usage probably in the last hour or so
pretty sure i looked at it earlier this morning and it didn't have a core maxed:
restarting the container fixed for me so far
if its like before, it will come back over time till they find the fix
it [what i've named it] an CPU leak
something is making the cpu take big chunks over time and never going down [until an restart]
Anyone else experiencing crashes related to ziplines?
@mild thunder @pseudo ravine
question, do you both have Auto-Pause off ?
I do
cause, an month ago, some one talked about using an mod to remove all entity's from spawning and it solved their problem, wonder if it's maybe the mobs giving the server an stroke
auto pause is off
my CPU been sky high since the update with autopause off
wait a minute im using playit too. Do you have the issue of placing foundations/walls are not placing/destroying until the client relogs?
yeah
darn
You can edit the Engine.ini
@eager shore Look up... many have this problem, me included π #dedicated-servers message
spikes my lxc to 12 core 100% without anyone online/server paused
@timid saffron so i guess some sort of bug introduced since the patch then, good i didnt do something randomly wrong
meanwhile i stop my lxc when i/we are done playing ^^
Steamcmd dedicated server on Windows server, port forwarding set for TCP and UDP 7777, 7778, and 8888. Getting Failed to Connect to the Server API. Has anyone figured out a solution?
I've tried -port, -ReliablePort and -multihome with different iterations to test. I can get a server running if I use .\FactoryServer.exe -port=8888, but it's stuck on the loading screen.
Did you read/verify'd #patch-notes message ?
ok. i do not know what i am doing wrong. i cannot get the dang server to update to the latest version no matter what i do
Are you physical on the same network or mobile/outside your server? from outside i have the same problem - but im too lazy to fix it and activate my vpn π
im on the same network. im updating via steamcmd on my proxmox server pc
it says its successful for the update. but its stuck at version "385279"
so iim getting a version mismatch when trying to enter
a another proxmox user ^^ let me check my satisfactory.service file
much appreciated, im new to prox sorta, built this a few months back
anyone else having problems with infinite loading screen?
My server shows its there.. Says Server name pending / Not Authenticated. But says Offline. i have ports 7777 and 8888 open in my router.. anyone have any ideas?
i think i see the issue, i might have had the wrong app id. i think i had the game id not the server id. reupdating now and gonna see what happens
its updates automaticaly on reboot
what prox or satisfactory?
sat server
ohh you have your server set to auto update? i probably should do that but for now its a bat file
I do - I sub to a server at gtx-gaming. Struggled with their support yesterday - they ended up reinstalling a server for me. Which did the trick and i played yesterday.
Today, after updating I'm back at the infinite oading screen.... I'm gathering the strength for another round of support. π
maybe they have kicked it while under 100% cpu load π
Yes. No solution for me, yet. I'm even going through the patch notes and double checking.
I've been having a problem on my home server where I can get the satisfactory dedicated server to run but when I try to join on my client computer then the game just crashes to desktop but the server stays running
crash to desktop? that never happens to me
after fixing my update i have this issue too now.
do u think the devs are aware?
infinite loading screens are usually the 2nd port being unable to be reached, defaults to 8888
It crashes in the loading screen trying to get onto the server. Never actually loads in before it crashes. I can run the save file on my computer without the server and its fine
just spottet #1382410105525633145 message - maybe that helps?
have you had a problem
so what can i do to try fix thid problem?
self hosting or through a company?
are you using the default ports?
such as
-Port=7777 -ReliablePort=8888
so should i swapp from 7777 to 8888
you need both
ok
but i use Playit.gg to broadcast to my mate so they dont join via my houses ip, should i make a tunnel for 8888 and 7777
where do you put these? i have the open on my router. but is there something else i need todo?
open them via the firewall advanced inbound settings
when starting up the server, both of those should be arguments, to keep the server that the default ports or you can change them to be what ever you need them to be
after setting them, watch the server console on startup to make sure that it took the ports
then open the ports on the server, and docker container if needed, then what ever other firewalls you need to
already have them open in the firewall. and my router. but the server still says offline. But you see that its a new server. saying server name pending / not authenticated
no
1 tunnel with both port
if you do 2 separate tunnels they will have an different ip each
It'll say that with no connection. Try it. Enter in a bogus IP and you'll see that. It means it doesn't see your server at all.
i go and test to see if the ports are open.. and they are all open. but still says offline for me.
check the pathnote for dedicated servers and change the engine.ini
What is running your server instance
And you have 8888tcp and 7777tcp/udp added to the playit config?
playit conifg?
ok weird issue im having, so i was finally able to name my server and add a password but how do i start it? it shows the server name in the manager but i cant access? do i need to start a new game or something i n another menu
where is that? lol
sure, you need to create a game
who want play
Sorry I mixed up the messages. Ignore play it.
You should use "can you see me dot org" (it'll get spam blocked if I type it out) can you see me will test your IP and the ports and let you know.
where can I find someone to play with?
found it?
Success: I can see your service on IP on port (8888)
Now do 7777
i have the name on the left side of that menu but nothing on the right. im trying starting a multuiplayer ip game to see if it loads into that
Windows 11 firewall?
turned off right now.. to test it..
select your server and the other menu points appear
wont let me, on that right side it just says " you need to create or load a game before you can join it
Hmmm that is odd. Are there any errors in the logs for the server
just create one π
thats not there for me, ill screenshot and send it here. satisfactory is running on my desktop
just hit print in game if you run win11... then you can copy+paste it here
strange
YUP it is a controller bug
π
good to know lol. i appreciate your help Sven
i don't use playit
ohoops,
We have just updated our server to the latest version. Unfortunately, we are now stuck in the loading screen. You can hear the sound in the background of the creatures and see how the game is loading, but the loading screen no longer disappears and you don't spawn. Is there already a workaround for this?
#1382410105525633145 message good luck
Thank you π
could this be causing something?
[2025.06.11-18.07.59:018][182]LogReliableMessaging: Error: Received an invalid message type. Disconnecting.
[2025.06.11-18.07.59:027][182]LogReliableMessaging: Incoming TCP connection broken before it could be established.
dont forget the server port have changed @proper summit look @patchnotes
local is "slower" nice π
Can anyone test my Satisfactory server for me?
sure, post ip
80.53.246.248:7777
?
Dammit, i was to fast.... now i'm the admin for the server -.-
eh you cant do much with an ip adress
worst thing would be a DDOS
i mean thats edge cases
can you connect and take over kraymy? the connection is working - you must create a game
I just needed to test if the servers were working for sales purposes, I donβt actually own the game myself. π
okay, so the connection works, should i create a game and see if i can play?
YEEE create
yup, is working. new world loading
I thought the server itself would use a bit more resources.
nope, idle ~2-3% with 2 cores
my lxc owns 4 on a 11400
32gb space and 8gb ram should run fine
For my issue, here's what I had to run to get the server up and running with no infinite loading screen.
Windows server using steamcmd to install dedicated server.
Open cmd
cd to SatisfactoryDedicatedServer folder
.\FactoryServer.exe -port=8888 -ReliablePort=7778 -multihome=0.0.0.0
Ryzen 9 5900X take Nothing
its my proxmox machine with 14 other containers running π
Will it perform well on a server with 5 vCores (Ryzen 9 5900X), 16GB DDR4 ECC RAM, and 70GB NVMe storage?
Download your save first. That is all you care about. You can load the game on any machine that way
im stuck waiting sadly. as 4 of us are playing on this server lol. patience is my friend atm
Thanks for the help with the server π
Spin up a trial somewhere else lol
maybe you need a little bit more - if you allow more then 4 players
can anyone share there bat file plz?
cannot help with the .bat. starting it as a service under linux
I have max 128GB DDR4 and 1 TB NVME
btw. nice ping to poland... 58ms is good π
That is quite good.
not so far away, germany here ^^
Out of curiosity why the change to 7778
has anyone figured out a workaround for joining games in Server Manager while using a controller?
When I used port 7777, the server freaked out. I already had 7778 open from previous versions, so I tried it and it worked.
how do you cahnge the port the server uses?
.\FactoryServer.exe -port=8888 -ReliablePort=7778 -multihome=0.0.0.0
I changed both the port and reliableport, but I also added multihome.
did anyone figure out why it consumes so much of the cpu i have all 4 cores clogged at 100%
ye figured.... hope they fix it next update
where should i run this?
helloo, im using MCSmanager on a ubuntu server, i've set my startup command as "./FactoryServer.sh" this will function if i manual type it in the command line, but if i use mcs startup command, it doesnt start (or more like instantly stops)
thats what im getting:
"
[INFO] Instance running. You can send commands use the input box at the bottom. If you need advanced console features like Ctrl, Tab, and other shortcuts, please go to terminal settings to enable the emulated terminal.
Aborted (core dumped)
Failed to start satisfactory.service: Unit satisfactory.service not found.
Refusing to run with the root privileges.
libc++abi: __cxa_guard_acquire detected recursive initialization
[ERROR] The instance appears to have exited shortly after startup, which may be due to an incorrect launch command or configuration error.
[Operation Error] Command execution failed because the instance's actual process does not exist
"
it could be bc its not root, the satis stuff is on a steam user
but i can start the satis server from the mcs manager if i use a normal console
https://github.com/MCSManager/MCSManager/issues/1482 runs not as root
look at the post. run it as a docker container π
Anybody having success running the server through Pterodactyl manager?
Not on 1.1 so far.
I'll receiving "TimeOutException" by joining the server, idk why.
On 1.0 everything works fine.
Yep, same issue.
ports changed... you need 7777tcp/udp and 8888 tcp
primary 8888?
secondary 7777?
Yes. IΒ΄ll run it on pelican panel (nearly the same as pterodactyl).
You have to modfiy the start command like the picture below.
Then add port 8888/tcp to the server and allow it in your firewall. If you want to reach the server from outside of your network forward the port in your router. You still need 7777/tcp / udp opend. Make the 7777 port as primary.
Im not seeing this behavior though, by default my first server will start at 7777 and the next starts at 7778
whats the difference between -port and -reliableport
From the Changelog of 1.1
Explicit Port Configuration
β’ A new -ReliablePort= command-line parameter allows explicit port selection.
β’ The value must be an integer between 0 and 65535.
β’ If specified, the server will attempt to bind to this port and fail to initialize if the port is unavailable.
If you donΒ΄t understand, don't be afraid to asked.
Hi so, me and my friends are having an issue where one of us can play normally and the other 2 of us are having the respawn screen permanently looping, the one who can play can even see us walking and jumping when we do it, we just cant see, anyone know this issue?
Is the person which can play normally the sever host?
Yes, but I am in the same house, connected to the same router which is odd...
And your in the same network within the same IP-Adress Area?
Yes
Thad's weird. Did he forwarded the new port 8888/tcp for WAN and not only for LAN?
Ah, I'll get on that.
I hope this is the error. DonΒ΄t forget to open the firewall.
Hello, I've an issue. My friend has a dedicated server in his house, and we play together. It's been a couple days (before and after the update) that when I go in game and go to server admin (to join) I got stucked in "connecting" and I'm not able to connect... anyone know how to fix it?
Ports 7777 TCP/UDP and 8888 TCP has been forwarded.
Attached photo of startup parameters.
Local address/port of server is 192.168.0.136:28004.
This should work. There be now to ports for the server. The 7777 must be the primary one. Now try it out. DonΒ΄t forget to forward the port not only for LAN if you wanΒ΄t to reach it from the outside of your internet.
I do not understand lol, is -port not going to work anymore?
Where do I set what port is primary?
Is that on router/Pterodactyl?
This port is also working. But the RelieablePort option is for the server to test, if the server is reachable. If the port isn't opened, the server wonΒ΄t start.
you can think of -port as the primary communications port for the game and the -ReliablePort as a required secondary port with -port being the one you type in game to start the communication with the server.
That was it! Thanks alot.
In petodactyl you have to set the primary port in the admin page of the server. Maybe it cound also change in the "Build Configuration"?. But before you can choose the primary port, you have to add the second port in the admin page.
I think I finally got it, so if im running multiple servers i need all of them to launch with -ReliablePort=8888, correct?
Perfectly. Thank not me, @mild thunder figured it out yesterday.
Both: -Port=7777 -ReliablePort=8888 with different ports for each server
Yes, ive ran multiple before 1.1 but didnt understand the addition of -reliableport
Thanks to the both of you for explaining, Ive got two running succesfully now
the port that is listed as Game Port on the Build configuration page is the primary port, if you click on that, you can see all the ports assigned to that server. if the port you want for -ReliablePort is not there, then you need to add it so it is in the list.
What lines can I add to engine.ini to configure the port and reliable port there?
I got too excited I guess, joining my 1st server is no problem but my second leaves me stuck at the loading screen. if i click i can hear my character swining a xeno basher though
if you can see the server startup log, make sure it used the correct port you set for -ReliablePort and that it is open
should also add this server is on my local network, so nothing to do with port forwarding and for this testing sessions i disabled windows firewall on the server
Do you know what lines I would need to add to engine.ini to configure those? Having a hard time finding any examples
With some trepidation⦠I updated my server.
I use the wolveix docker container.
Running on Windows 10β¦ on an AMD FX 8120.
I did NOT forward the new messaging port through my router to the internet.
No issues with loading my save and connecting from the other side of the planet⦠through a VPN tunnel.
Iβm gonna be watching for that CPU spike bug.
I donβt have much head room on my poor little 14 yr-old cpu.
Almost 14 years. I guess it is only 13 until October.
Itβs a teenager. Β―_(γ)_/Β―
you do not need port forwarding if you have a VPN tunnel inside your network...
Strange here...
I've been having the authenticate issue with my server, and even after I scorched earth my entire server folder and then redownloaded everything, it still remembers the server name as Slugfactory.
I'm assuming I just forgot the password to my own server. Do we know where this is stored?
No other passwords, like the router one are working.
some file containing the port number. don't remember the entire name rn
@edgy pasture i am running the same docker container on a Beelink MINI-S12 Pro Mini PC, 12th Gen Intel Alder Lake-N100 which i have installed Ubuntu 22.04 server on
im pretty impressed with the little mini PC tbh it also runs my plex media server and handles pretty much anything i throw at it
before the 1.1. patch it was sitting at around 25% CPU usage with 2 people playing satisfactory and also streaming 3 videos on plex
Hmm, I see a "ServerSettings.sav" file.
Any way to open that so I can see the password?
yeah, ServerSettings.<Port>.sav
you can just delete the file and re-claim the server
changed my port to 8.8.8.8 and i still get issues with loading screen, i use playit.gg
@magic herald 8.8.8.8 is an IP address not a port
Specifically 8.8.8.8 is a Google DNS server lol
Are you hosting locally or through a service?
im hosting locaaly
and have set port to 8888
i just need help on getting my server online to play gain, i host it locally ona PC and then use a tunnel on Playit.gg
He's hosting locally and using a proxy service.
if you guys can do it i can give you acsees to my server to setit up on anydesk
Well a lot of people are having issue with it being stuck on the loading screen. Are you running into this issue?
yes
May not be a port issue, may be something on a larger scale. I planned on updating my dedicated server tonight and seeing what the issue may be
Just use port 8888
You technically donβt need another port, reliable port just allows you to use something else beside 8888 I believe, if you want
It allows explicit port selection, which means you donβt have to select another port.
ok what am i try do is deleting my installed instances and reistalling them via steam CMD
default is 7777 and 8888
port and reliableport allow you to change these respectivly
should i run a TCP and DCP Tunnel for 7777 and 8888
7777 is TCP & UDP, 8888 is TCP only
anyone having issues with research on dedicated servers?
UDP only? it wont work -> infinite loading screen
UDP in addition to TCP? you opened an additional port thats not used
Over talking about playing the game and people are having issues even connecting π
so basically if i opend a UDp by accidnet but then a TCP after will it be fine
r u tryna connect to a pterodactyl panel docker?
as long as 8888/tcp is open
at the end?
No
ports look fine, IP depends
.\FactoryServer.exe -port=8888 -ReliablePort=7778 -multihome=0.0.0.0 so if i do that will it set the port?
I have a dedicated server running off a windows server VM. I am reading all the changes and issues people are having. Hopefully when I get home and update my server, I donβt have any issues since most people have identified and found out the problem
So I thought I fixed the issue for joining my dedicated server but it seems if you run the game outside of steam, directly from the exe, you get infinite loading - Has anyone found a fix for this?
im running the ip of the machin so 127.0.0.1 is the local one
internally
ill try it now
8888 tcp/udp
7778 tcp
make sure to adjust the port when adding the server in server manager to 8888
Get rid of get rid of the reliable port. Itβs also not within the range of the prescribed parameters.
Default is 8888+512
It doesn't have to be in that range
ok
i cant if im using playit.gg
since it forces you and ip ands random port
but its a tunnel so it should work
ReliablePort defaults to 8888 but can be changed when passed as argument.
if the port is closed it will try the next 512 ports until it finds an available one or the range is exhausted and fail
Are you behind CGNAT and can't change firewall ports? Because if not, just use your IP address and port forward
Yes, add the firewall rules to your router to allow traffic into the server 192.168.whatever it is via 8888 and 7777
Remove the playit.gg completely from the equation
ok so wherwe can i add Ports onto my router
Who is your Internet service provider
Essentially then you can find your ISP wan IP address. That's what your friends will connect with
I dm'd you the port forward instructions for the sky ISP I think you have. Since links are killed here
Did dedi servers get some love this update?
Is the blueprint hologram bug fixed by chance π€π»
It is very much broken unfortunately
For whatever reason, if you run a dedicated server, it seems to be a coin toss with people with getting it running - I'll explain more of my issue in a moment because I'm perplexed on how changing a port just made it a fucking nightmare
so before 1.1 - I would launch from the exe so steam doesn't have to run
But even after making a bat file, running the exe - having ports forwarded in both router and firewall (firewall is set to any port so it shouldn't be a firewall issue) - I get stuck in the infinite loading
I got it running yesterday after running from steam with the reliableport=8888 in steam but after trying to get the other options working today, it's back to infinite loading
This is a server I'm running in house and has been running for the last month with no issues
I've tried verifying server files, making a bat, making a shortcut with the command line edited
It seems like a common thing for people to have the issue with it not functioning but anything I've tried that I've seen other people do, just results in endless loading so I'm beyond perplexed on how it is so broken now
I'm going to try uninstalling the server and reinstalling it now
After a very long wait time, it finally let me in - I have no idea why it took so long but I guess if it's working
After disconnecting and reconnecting, it just got stuck with infinite loading again
Are players inserting port 7777 or 8888 into the connect screen
Depends on what port is set. Usually it is 7777 and has to be put by players in the Server-Manager when adding a server.
hello... Could someone please try to connect to my dedicated server? You don't have to play (unless you want to), but I just want to make sure that folks can get into it from the outside..
Still need it?
heh, it seems that someone was on my server last night , so I know it can be connected to π
ITs like santa claus, I log in and see all this work has been done... I have no idea who did it ..
want to still come in? its a fresh start with 1.1
Isn't that concerning? If you have no clue who got in then it makes you have no clue who could come to destroy everything lol, considering adding a password?
thanks but i'll pass, i don't have enough time to handle two saves in parrallel, playing modded with friends currently too
it has a password... I had this server up for a while... I just had to re-do it and update it to 1.1
so there were a bunch of folks in and out before
yep yep no worries
there are still quite a bit of stability issues though
I wonder if I should be using a different OS... Iwas about to give up with linux alltogether and bring up a windows server...
Right now I am using ubuntu
Hey folks, new here. Been sifting through forums and this chat and haven't found anything consistent and clear jumping out at me. I am struggling with setting up my own dedicated server on Windows. I have opened the ports 7777 and 8888 through windows defender. I have port forwarded 7777->7777 and 8888->8888 through my router for the host PC. Before I did anything with port 8888 (also default launch settings, i.e. no arguments), I was able to connect to admin settings from another pc on the local network using public IP and port 7777, but when I went to join to play the game, I got stuck at the loading screen but could hear my player moving and jumping around (seems to be an established issue). Now that I have added port 8888, I can't connect as a client or admin. Can someone briefly explain how I should be setting this up?
are you defining your ports with the startup arguments: -port=7777 -ReliablePort=8888 if you can see the console of the server as it is starting up, you can verify both ports get assigned properly
I am now, yes
In server manager on separate pc, should I be using port 7777 or 8888 to connect?
7777
I was able to connect now. Seems that I did have it configured correctly, but it just required 4 restarts of the server and client to work. Thanks for the sanity check
glad you are able to connect now
IS the windows server more stable than the linux server in general?
I was thinking of switching from linux to windows because I am having all sorts of stability issues, plus the steamcmd utility in linux has too many issues...
I believe I am up and running for now.. but I have to restart the thing at least once per day, and I find it near impossible to do updates with steamcmd..
does anyone know if the new update has rolled out to dedicated servers yet? Mine says it has a version mismatch (mine is from a hosting service)
pls @ me with replies im not here very often
yes, the update is out for dedicated servers, though hosting services are not all working yet as some of them have not prepared for the 2nd port required.
i see, would that port thingy require any input from me or is that a them thing?
them
good to know (especially since its my friends server)
i mean we both are admins but she pays the bills and does the host stuff
in theory if you shut down the server and start it back up, depending on how they set it up, it may get the update, but then probably would lack the 2nd port and when you try to login you would get an infinite loading screen
Tenk you wise factory person
i shall play gwent on my new NG+ withcer 3 run while i wait for sercer update
Geralt is not an addict he can stop anytime he wants what do you mean people need me to do stuff no they dont i need to play gwent
@mild thunder do you know if playit.gg is not going to support this type of port forwarding?
no idea, i know some people were messing around with it earlier, but i do not use the service myself
cool, thanks!
is apexhosting able to handle the new update yet? if anybody knows
Is there a list of server commands I can read up on? Just curious how to reset it from the console in the server settings (if that is possible)
Wish I could set the server to reset twice a day but....
Anyone have issues since the update? Ever since the patch the game goes to 100% CPU and eventually crashes. Changed nothing other than updating when 1.1 was available.

Seems like it's been an issue since 1.1 hit experimental and we are still waiting on a fix.
I appreciate the sanity check. Is there an open issue or just chatter I can search for here on discord?
Looks like the game sends a crashreport on its own but I'm happy to help provide logs
There is an open issue, you can search for it on the site or search here, it's linked a few times I think.
Hi!
I've been playing a game on a Dedicated Server, but ever since updating to version 1.1, my friends haven't been able to connect. It seems like I can still connect directly when playing locally.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Note: I haven't changed any server or router settings.
A new port was added for 1.1 defaults to 8888
Do I need both TCP and UDP?
TCP
Thanks, I'll give it a shot!
so my friend is stuck in loading screen when he tries to join my server, the server is hosted on my network, my friend can move around and hear stuff and open his ui, but he is stuck in the loading screen
this is on 1.1
i can load in just fine
Iβm 7 hours in on 1.1β¦ no sign of the CPU spike bug.
Iβll report back tomorrow.
After letting it run⦠and not having the messaging port open to the internet.
nvm i brained it
you need to run this batch script if your on windows
.\FactoryServer.exe -port=7777 -ReliablePort=8888
Winds howling
So I came to the conclusion that updating just corrupted my save
Shame as I was only 360 hours in...
After starting a new save, everything worked fine
No infinite loading
When trying the old save, even with everything completely new, it was cooked
Having absolutely immense CPU usage on my server at the moment, 100% across a few cores. Server is idle, no one in it so game state is paused. Any ideas as to what might be going on?
Edit: Scrolled up and saw others. My bad. Will wait for a hotfix.
please share me the server logs of that session in my DM.
i'm having the bug rn, if you want i can share everything live in an discord VC.
I think the logs of that session from the server is good enough
Does it crash on load or did it get corrupted after resaving in 1.1 ?
Just me not getting into my pingplayers server? It takes me in to the server but the loading menu dosnt go away?
also, is it normal that the timezone used in the log's is UTC+00 ? cause the timezone the host system uses is UTC+02
latest time in the log is 12h.25m.27s | but for me it's currently 14h.25m.27s
@bright berry Can you help me? pls
restarted the server so i can get an log without me connecting in the server
i'm going to test with an blank world, last time it also made the CPU go haywire
I cant get into the server after the update? Is there anything i need to change or do to fix it?
port 8888/tcp is required
how do i do that?
7777tcp/udp 8888/tcp
bro what
how do i change it
<@&387163995947270144>

what in the 7 wringers of hell is happening, they are duplicating from servers to servers
??
what OS are you using
i never used dedicated server on windows 11, idk how to do it.
hello guys can some1 help me with my server?
it starts but u are stuck in the loading screen
u wont load into the server
read the patch notes #patch-notes more specifically the server notes
What is going on with this server?
How to Fix it ?
It takes lots of CPU power.
before this error messages started it ware running at 400%. But After the errors it get stuck at 600+ % until I restart it.
Hey! I seem to be crashing whenever the server loads a save(even creating a new one)
Can I provide a log here?
Is port 7777 even required anymore?
And is '-Port=' parameter not replaced by '-ReliablePort=' parameter?
Both 7777 AND 8888
-Port= is to change 7777
-ReliablePort= is to change 8888
Simple answer. You donβt need to make any change to your .bat file. Add port 8888 to your firewall and port forwarding. Reliable-port is only needed if you want to use anything other than 8888
That will remove the infinite loading screen and connection issues, majority of the issues people are having.
Server is running through Pterodactyl, and it uses port 28004.
Port 8888 is forwarded.
I am only able to see the server (but not connect) when -Port=28004 is set.
No matter what I set -ReliablePort to, it does not work.
Iβve never used Pterodactyl, I am going to assume 28004 is the public facing port and 7777 is internal. You are still connecting using 7777 but 8888 is now needed to be firewall exempt and forwarded with the new 1.1 update.
Make sure to backup your world on to your pc.
Change the Network to the following (shown on picture)
Make 7777 primary
Startup command might work:
./Engine/Binaries/Linux/*-Linux-Shipping FactoryGame ?listen -Port={{SERVER_PORT}} -ServerQueryPort={{QUERY_PORT}} -BeaconPort={{BEACON_PORT}} -multihome=0.0.0.0 $(if {{DISABLE_SEASONAL}}; then echo "-DisableSeasonalEvents"; fi)
this startup command is from before 1.0 and is out of date
But works for me π
which you should prefer?
modified 1.0 startup command for 1.1: ./Engine/Binaries/Linux/*-Linux-Shipping FactoryGame -Port={{SERVER_PORT}} -ReliablePort=8888
Hello everyone!
Im not sure if this is the place to ask for help, but I will try anyway.
I am trying to run a satisfactory 1.1 dedicated server. I have set it up in pterodactyl using the "Satisfactory" Egg. The server is the same version as the Game I am using to join (1.1.1.0:416835). I am running on port 8888 and have forwarded ports 8888 and 7777 tcp and udp. I can add the server in the server manager and it is recognized without issue. Once I join, the game seems to be loading as I can hear the game sounds, but the server connect loading screen never disappears and eventually I get a timeout.
Does anyone know any cause for this? I am starting to run out of ideas...
make sure to add the secondary port as an allocation to the server, it gets created on the node, then added to the server
<@&387163995947270144> MrBeast Scam Bot again
make sure you have the secondary port added to the server
I will give that a try and restart, thank you
they are all coming from the server 1294380382661116045
can't they add that to the discord blacklist ?
uh
the server doesn't feel like servering
DEFUC, IT DE-AUTHENTIFICATED ME
Also happened to me. This is why you need to backup your world.
i don't care, it was an brand new world
then nvm. π
you typed in two different passwords.
ohwait, i copied the password for the satisfactory QA website and not my server woops
this did not seem to change anything π
Even with the query port, beacon port, port 8888 and 7777 all allocated, the issue persists
Can you show your network settings for the server?
only need 7777 and 8888
alright, well both of those should be available now
from the server manager?
make sure the 7777 port is the primary
does it only work on 7777?
no
what ever the primary port is, is the port that you will be typing into the game to connect to initially
I now changed the primary port to 7777, and it is working!
my startup command(primary port goes to Server Port): ./Engine/Binaries/Linux/*-Linux-Shipping FactoryGame -Port={{SERVER_PORT}} -ReliablePort=8888
more communication that the server does
so by setting the primary port to 8888 i blocked that out and broke things?
No crash - it seems to have corrupted after saving in 1.1
if you set primary port to 8888, then you would have to connect to that port and the other port would need to be the Reliableport
I've since made a new world but I have the old saves still
so either explicitly specify Reliableport, or use any port other then 8888 for primary?
i would just specify both
alright, will do, thanks for the support!
Apart of me wonders if it was corrupting prior to this in 1.1 because the older the server got, the more unstable it became but 1.1 really pushed it over the edge
It ran for about 700 hours, I played about 360 of them
This is what I am rocking if this helps anyone at the moment. I am using windows server. First item is my start script that always checks for an update and then starts the server, second one is my start.bat file, third is my Firewall exemption for both port 8888 and 7777 for both UDP and TCP and the last is my port forwarding on my router.
please share me both before and after versions of your save file.
I think you are missing 7777/UDP on the windows firewall
why is building on servers so buggy? the whole bridge got deleted and is still there.
do you have more than 1 client ?
I'm playing alone on this server.
Also when i unlock something on the MAM, it doesn't unlock it. I need to reboot the server to achieve it.
Also on the HUB Terminal.
it maybe seem that it's my save the problem, brand new world and i don't have the issue anymore [i had it back in experimental but guess it's fix'ish]
i've already sended you in DM guru
There are also an forum thread opened: https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/post/68487d286b7c5731963835fe
Is it normal to get a lot of Navmesh bound errors, when starting server?
im hosting on 3rd party server and 3 times i got my server wiped, i think someone hacked me any good hosting provider
I got this response from the playit.gg discord page. Does it seem possible to reconfigure the ports on the game side?
you can
which os are you using ?
ubuntu
while using AMP to manage the game
what is AMP ?
if you can find somewhere in that manager, for custom launch arguments, you add from there -Port= and ReliablePort=
Iβm not, I have both on there, just send the one.
Sadly I cannot repro the issue on my end here, I will update that QA site post if we find something .
I finally managed to get steam server running and open the ports by switching to my desktop. Friend can connect to the server but he gets stuck at this screen forever
I do as well when I connect through my laptop on a different network
usually means the secondary port that defaults to 8888 is not reachable.
Hmm... im running a dedicated server on my home network, and ive noticed twice now, usually after alt-tabbing out of my game, I seem to lag out to main menu
Tried opening it and gonna have my friend log in
Has there been any official acknowledgement regarding not being rewarded unlocks in dedicated servers, requiring to relog to be awarded the unlock?
Think that fixed it
removed access from the internet to my server and haven't logged into it yet, so its just running the world, and so far it has ran longer than last time without excess cpu usage.
Update on the High CPU Usage:
since i've disconnected my server from the web and only in local, the bug disappeared.
usage is normal
like it was back in 1.0
Default and Configurable Port Ranges
you should add The following settings in Engine.ini control port allocation:
[/Script/ReliableMessaging.ReliableMessagingTCPFactory]
PortRangeBegin=8888
PortRangeLength=512
ExternalPortRangeBegin=-1
The server will attempt to bind within [PortRangeBegin, PortRangeBegin + PortRangeLength).
By default, the server starts at port 8888 and tries up to 512 ports until it finds an available one. (Got this from the patch notes)
Is 1.1 stable enough to enqble mods on them (on a dedicated server)
@whole meadow. so yeah, what i've call the CPU Leak bug doesn't trigger anymore once i've stopped all Outside connection form connecting to the server.
I will as soon as discord decides to let me upload files, I can't even DM the file because discord just keeps erroring
Edit: Seems discord wide issue, go figure but I will dm it to you later so that way it's easier to find
but when it does work I have a save from 6/4 and a save from 6/11 (this being the last save after I threw in the towel considering it corrupted, my inventory hot bar was blank, menus were broken, conveyor lines all empty and this was all after multiple attempts to enter the server with either infinite or very long loading screens
Have we heard any word on the desync issue? its the third fourth and fifth highest post on the forum
I posted this yesterday and so far it looks like restricting traffic by whitelisting IP's solves the problem. At least my CPU looks normal now and I haven't had a crash yet. This is an OK work around but ideally the server wouldn't get wrecked by a few malicious packets. Hope it helps anyone experiencing the same issue.
I have found a solution that's so easy to fix dedicated servers that people are running locally vai PLAYIT.GG just dm me
why would anyone use playit
What did you find
His router was not exposing 7777 tcp/udp
Just host your own, a computer that can handle a satisfactory server can usually be bought for less than $100, then you have no monthly charge
so in order to solve the CPU bug, you have to remove outside connections?
Back up your save files and send it.
it seem that the random people that port scan all ip's on the internet makes the dedicated server go haywire and put the load on the CPU over and over again
I don't have access to my WiFi network admin, so I can't port forward the IP π
Pretty sure this could be fixed with a vpn
Not sure exactly what it was but my exs little brother always ran some free program that would get around that
i could ngrok it, but the IP changes and I have to constantly update DNS
I could pay for ngrok, but that defeats the purpose
ngrok combined with a free no-ip subscription then
so the only solution is to remove the major function of a server? great
can someone give me a hand?
no, i still need mine
but we might be able to help in other ways if you just state the problem
Oh god.. I finally realized I had port forwarded 8888 UDP instead of TCP... So stupid I spent this many hours trying to figure out why I could not connect to the server π
so uh i saw that my server had an update from here https://steamdb.info/app/1690800/history/ so i updated now my server wont start back up and it keeps looping xD
Over 24 hours running the updated server WITHOUT the messaging port exposed to the internet. No crazy cpu 100% stuff happening.
Looks like maybe VPN tunnels are still the best workaround for the CPU bug for now.
Yeah, the messaging port thing is fixed by not exposing to the internet for me as well. However, I still get frequent crashes it seems like related to dismantling too quickly or something? Even on experimental the game ran for days and days without issue. Now it seems like frequent problems.
You might could check out Tailscale.
It makes VPN tunnels with shifting IP addresses pretty easy.
Hey guys I'm having dedicated server problems when trying to save a blueprint and have not found a solution online. My session name has no spaces or anything it just one word, which was the main problem for most people. In the server console it gives me this error
LogFactoryBlueprint: Warning: Failed Write File
Nobody on the server can save a blueprint, game does not crash or anything when trying to save a blueprint.
Just wanted to drop some info here. I had a server from 1.0 that has been offline a few months. Went to update to 1.1 and SteamCMD kept saying it was validated, but starting the game there was a client and server version mismatch. If I changed the install directory, then SteamCMD said it "Failed to install app '1690800' (No Subscription)" despite the fact that you don't need to pay for the server.
Turns out the problem was that I needed to update SteamCMD itself. Just downloaded the latest from Steam into the same folder the original SteamCMD.exe was in, ran it once manually for it to finish installing, then ran the game update script and it appears to be downloading the new server version now.
If you relog does it work?
I've restarted the server many times, nobody on the server can save blueprints
No one can connect to the dedicated server. Problem is not port forwards. I even tried connecting via the local IP. No mods are installed, vanilla fresh install. I erased the entire server from my Pelican host and reinstalled it to make sure the problem was not some leftover 1.0 files.
(By unable to connect, i mean stuck on the connecting screen indefinitely)
Anyone know how to fix this, or do I just need to wait for a patch?
your missing the secondary port that defaults to 8888
