Yep, it's going to be too much for your belts for a while. But they're still good to get because you can basically squat on them the entire game and just keep raising the amount they give, all the way into end game, and even if it's too much you get to do it with a little less energy. Normals are fine though.

Impures... I only grab them if they're close to where I'm already grabbing or setting things up.

For HOR>Residual Fuel recipe, 600/min crude turns into 800/min HOR and 400/min polyres, then refines into 533.(3)/min fuel

So either way, whether you want the polyres or not, you get more doing to the two-part process

Diluted fuel is kind of the recipe that breaks the "they're all just for different purposes" thing over the knee, tbh. It's just plain better regardless of what you're doing. There are definitely alt recipes that are just plain better than others.

you used to be able to exploit some hitbox wierdness by building them starting at one side and packing them as close as they'd go. i think at some point right before the 1.0 release the hitbox of the generators was changed to make it impossible. I never found the trick too useful since it screws the natural spacing the generators have

in any event, i'd highly recommend you build coal power initially yourself. a lot of the piping lessons you learn with it you'll want to internalize before you get to oil & aluminum

I mean if you put the extractor on foundation, it's gonna be 1-2m higher than it would've been if placed directly on the node. The head lift is still gonna be 10m from the extractor, but with the extractor 1-2m above the node, it's 11-12m from the node

The issue is getting the extractor on the foundation, which I've never seen anyone do

Plus you can just use a pump, which gives 20/50m instead of 1-2

You can totally transport it back to your hub area and process it there. But if you're going to do that, use a train, not a pipe.

Of course you do need some plastic to start making trains so there is that. I had explored so much by that point that I had enough to make a pretty large train.

save it as a blueprint
now you can place the entire blueprint the same way you would place a single machine

yeah but the game can be played in many different ways and by copying someone's factory, you don't learn of the other ways (and possibly copy their mistakes as well)

I'd recommend playing on your own, listening to ADA, the game naturally guides you towards exploring it for yourself, you can always dismantle everything for a full refund, so you don't really "waste" anything
