Alt recipes are just there to give you options while building. They all have tradeoffs, and are all at least situationally useful. Try not to think of them in terms of "good" or "bad." There's more hard drives than you can use in the game anyway, so you'll get them all. :)

Not sure if this is math and theory but, I have a lot of aluminum left over from crash sites. If I overclock a mk2 miner to 250% on a pure node, it's 600/min. If I just put one single mk5 track in front of it and then immediately split it into two and feed it to mk4 belts before feeding it into the train, and then on the other side just use both outputs into MK4 belts, split to two different production lines, am I effectively getting the entire throughput (assuming the train transit time is fast enough)?
