I have a question, why am I hearing a lot that trains have more capacity than belts? Because if we look on paper, the output of a train station is determined by the size of the belts that come out of the train station? So in the end you are always limited by your belt speed. Yes, you can run 2 belts out of your docking station of you want to, you can even use several docking station per ressource if you really want to increase capacity... But in the end, you are always ruled by the capacity of your belt. Even if you have 3 docking station with two belt each, yo get the same output than having 6 belts running around all the map with no belts. HOWEVER I still loves trains because I can easily modulate which ressource goes where when I rework some factories, but I am confused as to why are trains considered as a high capacity transport compared to belts.

It seems to be powered, si if you selected the right recipe the only problem it could be is a wrong connection between your lift and your spliter, or between your lift and the assembler, or between the belt and the spliter.

The core of the "belt saving" comes from the stretch or rail itself. Sure, each station can handle an amount dependent on belts, but the rail itself can support many stations (in comparison, one belt stretching the ssame distance could supply just 1 belt worth of items)

it does already work via crossover but it can be kinda buggy

It needs coal + water. Coal and Water each need energy to be mined/pumped, but the coal plant itself doesn't need (additional) energy.

It doesn't consume any power itself, but the miners + water extractors which supply it do need power, so you generally kind of "bootstrap" those to life using bio burners

Once the coal gens themselves are working, then you can decom the bio burners and have the coal gens power their own processing machinery

That'll be a common theme from here on out with power; all the other power solutions will require more and more factory behind them to produce the stuff they need. :)

But at least you've got fully-automatable power from here on out. You technically generally use coal to "bootstrap" your oil power too, but I expect most folks (myself included) just leave their coal gens running forever, so they don't usually go away like bio burners usually do

For some unexplainable reason, a pipe network i set uo at least 20+ hours ago and has been running without issue (its a water system for power) for all these 20 hours, suddenly upped and stopped working, the pump i put on the system just died and refused to turn back on to pump water, i had to remove the whole part and put it back (then it worked)

If you mean just mechanically, btw: if you go around to the back of the vehicle there's a little storage box thing. Interact with it, and you'll see there's also a "fuel" slot. Can put various fuels in there

Vehicles are quite flexible with the fuels they accept; just about anything you think should work will be accepted

When you automate vehicles, the Truck Stations have a "fuel" hopper, and when vehicles stop at the station they'll automatically refill on that fuel (so long as it's the same sort that they already have)

I'm not sure if manually-driven vehicles will take from truck stations, though

(Relatedly, I still say that when vehicles/drones consume packaged fuel, they should drop empty canisters/tanks along the way as they go. :D)

I'm not sure if it is an obvious question, actually! "UObjects" are just an internal Unreal Engine object which is used by a ton of stuff. Like opening the game's menus will use UObjects; it's not just things in the game world. But I know that there's some internal optimizations where connected foundations end up "conglomerating" into a single unit somehow, and I know that there's also been recentish work to convert various noninteractive things to be, er, "data objects" or something like that, which are also maybe lighter on UObject usage

I guess install the mod which lets you watch UObject count (or maybe there's just a console command to do that), and start building some big fields of foundations and see how it acts. :)

Nah, it's far more than that. Nearly everything that's done inside UE ends up using UObjects, I believe (there's a fair bit of hand-waving going on in that statement, and I am not a UE developer, but that's my impression)

Sure, that's the OG crash-site opener (at least if you're not dragging power behind you as you explore). But it's difficult to argue with the convenience of just "build augmenter, connect, done"

With a burner you've gotta open it up and feed it the biomass (and potentially do so with more than one burner)

I am absolutely in love with this game, and I am currently on my 3rd save. But I realize that every time I get to having to automate SuperComputers, it gets quite hectic. Especially if you're not an expert in utilizing trains yet. No matter which biome I start in, every time I get to having to automate SuperComputers, everything needed is far apart and quite a pain to do.

Naw, pure aluminum is ballz. You want Quartz Purification so that you make more silica for regular Al recipes

The Quartz Purification chain is great when you want both quartz crystals and silica, but I think if all you want is silica, the other recipes will give you higher yield

im not sure, but that at least wouldnt be possible at this time. PC and console are two different development environments, and weve had to do unique optimizations to get the game running on console. we may revisit the idea down the line, but it would take a lot of resources and time away from new development to get the platforms working together

• Full pipes are happy pipes
• If I plan a pipe system where I do not produce a full pipe-max-flow of throughput, but where input and output are balanced...
• I should let the pipes fill and only turn the machines on once all pipes and buffers are full (iteratively on each step of the fluid processing)

but what you want to do is down clock a few machines to like 50% , as most machines don't accept fluid while off

pre-filled pipes are definitely basically always a great idea, yes, though as CobaltOfDoom mentioned, getting machines prefilled takes a bit more doing since they won't accept material when in standby

1. It's probably headlift.
2. Have you checked if it's not headlift?
3. Are you sure it's not headlift?
