It’s pretty good in HC.
You can phase through enemies, do dmg and leech on the move and be decently tanky.
As long as you don’t tank slams or dangerous shotguns, you’ll be fine.

Lightning Blast will a pretty hard to beat as it's probably one of the most well rounded builds there is for HC

newbie question, is dual wield even worth it on Hc as fire aura mage? Also why are ppl using Transciber's? Doesnt seem to do much, is it only for pen and easy LP3?

dual wield is just 1 modifier, it all depends on what other dmg reduction modifiers a build has.
Basically, it's not as simple as: If dual wield = never HC.

fire aura is a spell so you get more dmg från the spell damage on transcriber.
it's also allows you to slap melee attack speed so that you can max out your fire aura stacks. Since you can'y slam it on ladle.

Haven't looked at what other options there are that you could use instead of sword in offhand, so not sure if it's worth it

but attacks speed might be it, with dual wield node + as on offhadn you might attack like twice as fast than with a shield

that's impossible to say, it all depends on what you have on the swords.
these are the 2 useful stats for fire aura on that sword

Can you easily clear dungeons to skip campaign chapters in hc? In last season I tried SB at lvl 30ish and got killed one shot

Guess I needed to gain some levels first but not sure, need advice

different dungeons are different area lvl = not the same difficulty,
you need to look at the ara lvl, compare to where you are atm and see if you think you can handle it.

but usually the most difficult part is handling the boss, and this depends on how good you are at the boss mechanics and avoiding them.

this is ofc if you have the dungeon keys.

Playing my own melee shami with GS+EQ - the amount of leech feels good in HC but probably B tier compared to the other builds out there. what chars are you guys finding strong / enjoyable for HC? I was liking Lightning Blast but made a mistake and got shotgunned at level 89.

Tried 2 Shadow Cascade Bladedancers because I have Arhitects of Astral Blood and want to try the LL version. But I died in early monos during the Falconeer leveling portion, just cuz rushing without capped resistances

Doing judge aura paladin. super good starter build.
But no build is tanky enough for HC to be played like a SC rush. you need to know exactly which mobs and attacks are dangerous to survive without over lvling and over gearing.

A lot of the meta builds can more or less treat HC like SC

Obviously don't face tank things that you're not meant to face tank

But yeah, HC is a knowledge game

If you don't know what is a threat it's likely going to kill you eventually and maybe sooner than you think XD

I didn't know the new Woven Echo with the 3 breaches was as much of a threat as it was and I paid the price lol

Decided to open all 3 at the same time because my build was breezing through 1000c

Needless to say it didn't go well

Tbf though my build wasn't actually great at clearing large amounts of enemies quickly so I should have expected it

Yes. You use the judgment aura node(top left) and run a 2hander primordial staff called Xylem or something like that

Was a Legacy character and I play offline as of last season so no account/character to search. I was testing out the new Echo at the time.

My point was if you don't know what you're getting into, there is a good chance it wont end well.

HC is a game of knowledge. And with each character you hopefully learn a little more.

oh that looks kinda cool. Sort of like a Righteous Fire (poe background) build.

I suspect that's significantly less tankier than the Judgement Paladin build (because you lose the very strong defensive layer of Block)

I have had this happen too. I killed Rahyeh at the exact moment he is supposed to disappear and summon his minions. Then the blessing screen popped up while all the minions started attacking me.

They need to fix bug on Lagon fight in monoliths. Anomaly ported me into Lagon tentacle (one that blocks the path) at start of fight in HC..so ya.. lol you know what happened.

I asked in the ask dev channel about the window removing player action and if something could be done about it and all they said is basically "not really without there being major consequesnces elsewhere"

I asked if they could either remove the window taking away player control or make it so the player in invulnerable while they don't have control

before season 4 we could move during that window..... also why not do it like the rift beast eggs? just an altar that shows up in the arena after the fight to pick your blessing. doesn't let you leave until you pick one.

i ll check all players who reach 500c in hc , there is 4 NON-rogue characters who killed uber( 2 mage , 1 dru , 1 lich ) , and like 15 rogues , they are need to do something with balance

if you want the setup, just check the guide on maxroll, I'll be happy to answer any questions. Keep in mind even in HC, I would do uber on SC version with more dmg, since it's way safer to skip phases

easier to reach 300 mana for idols and more mana = better sustain of LB without having to not move / use potions to recover

some prefer using generator/spender with Runebolt

both are good setups, but I prefer having a low CD movement ability and 1 button damage ability (technically 2 with potions but they don't stop me casting)

But I made a low lvl char like a week ago, ran to first town, joined MG, left SAF and checked a few items on MG, and it’s looked pretty empty. Not that I know what it looks like on SC MG, but HC felt very empty

Its choreographed. Once you learn how to see where its going you can just run the other way.
So generic best way is movement speed.

Boots with slammed t7 movement speed and a weapon with the correct slam for first town is quite nice.

Or fire starter torch with slammed ele dmg over time as a generic option.

You'll naturally find a lot of decentish leveling gear as you play

Most of the time I don’t slam either. Having a crafting bench full of crafting mats too boost my dmg Ang tankyness with the ability to buy items, usually makes it go fast enough to lvl secondary chars.

Just make sure you shatter/remove the affixes you need to be able to boots your dmg and tankyness on subsequent chars.

hey guys i'm looking to create another hc character that isn't sentinel/rogue. what do you think are some strong / easy to gear builds that are tanky enough to fight aberroth?

i'm looking on the ladder, and i'm seeing some rip blood, flay, flame reave, lightning blast, tornado builds.

Sentinel is a good starter HC class a lot of free resists and tankynes on the tree.

Regular aberroth is very doable on all masteries.

Maxroll has a bunch of build guides and both a HC and boss killing tier list for all of them.

the rogues using umbral blades and rend dont count, they literally skip the fight. trim those out then u have an actual list.

and most likely the others are not at all safe, require extremely good play or luck or both

Judgement Paladin doesn't skip the fight and is extremely safe

Very popular build in HC

Most people don't clear Uberoth because it's simply not worth the risk to even learn the fight

And learning the fight is of course best done in SC

In HC you only get 1 attempt per character XD

So it makes sense that most of the clears in HC are done on a build that can reliably skip the risk

Hi all, i need advice.
It's my third character level 88 and all time in die in the firsts few empowered monolith
This time i have a paladin Crit hammerdin with 2500hp all resist caped, 50% Armor, titan hearth (-15% damage) and 45% endurance at 800hp
I just go in empowered and view my life go to 700 HP so how i can improve my survivability ?

Just looking at the Maxroll Guide on it which I assume you're following

It's not squishy but any means, but it also doesn't look particularly tanky either.

I think your biggest defence is being able to kill things at a long range

I would definitely aim to cap your Endurance

The Maxroll guide doesn't but for HC I would 100% aim for this

They also use the leech blessing from The Black Sun timeline

There aren't that many easy ways to stack up threshold, there is a nice corrupt on the helmet slot that gives you 10% of your HP as extra threshold

Other than that it'll naturally go up as you get life

There is also a Blessing that gives up to 150 flat I believe

I know this doesn't help but i had a similar experience with two crit hammerdins that died going into empowered monoliths, then i did bleed hammerdin with 90% block and going steady at 200c right now 😅

I usually try to get to Empowered pretty quick, but I wouldn't recommend pushing corruption too quickly.

Getting to Empowered is a pretty big jump up in what items you'll find.

I have a question about farming Alters - I am only looking for double T6 alters at this point, hard core - I am farming 500 courrption. And to me it feels like only champion and level 5 omens have a chance of having any of these. So are tehse talents jsut completetly useless? Summon void champions? are these just champions that give random loot? Roam Omens I have not seen a single good drop from these and since I have Memoris of obers do I even need plentaful windows?

Yea damage taken is a dangerous thing in Hardcore. You are never really safe.

i cant get enough EHP to tank the empowered mono's
but cant get my good gear pieces till like 75 or 85

I can unlock them fine and farmt the empowered around 60ish but i will get one shot eventually because im rocking lie 1.6k hp

HP seems useless, looks like i just gotta have some twink setup to generate 2k ward on top of HP for relevelling

Sounds like you’re playing HC same way as SC, rushing through the game.
That’s ok if you’re on a meta build and know exactly what can kill you.

I don’t enter empowered until way later. I go through the non empowered monos never being more than 10 lvls below the are, going to empowered when I get strong enough. Sometimes that’s 70, sometimes that’s 85+

I was pretty sure that I didn't receive any dmg when emperors AOE went off during blessing screen. So I thought that you are in fact immune to damage during the screen. But I guess it was just the aoe effect without dmg and not me being immune to dmg.
