Trying to create a English to Japanese version of my deck | Anki | Page 1

Hey so Im trying to learn Japanese and im using the Kaishi 1.5 deck.

The issue is i feel i need a English to Japanese version along with the Japanese to English one.

I attempted to use AI to create a python script to do this but its not working for me (Using AnkiConnect).

What i want to happen is the following

Have a version of each card where the english is on the front and japanese on the back
I want to keep my progress somehow. Like if i learn one card on this day, i should learn the same card on the other deck

Pleas help me, there has to be some way to accomplish this difficult task

This is in fact pretty easy, you just have to create a second Card type in the Note : https://docs.ankiweb.net/templates/generation.html

Looking at kaishi, the deck is
Front : Word
Back : the rest

You could create the second card type by putting
Front : "Word Meaning"
Back: all the rest

Yeah I did that, found a video and all was well! My recommendation if anyone wants to do this is to do it BEFORE you start using the deck. Because I had already started and had cards in the review section. I had to manually move the backwards card to review. Very time consuming lol (hopefully there was wasn’t I way to do that, that I didn’t know about.
