#Editing Image Occlusion cloze field manually

When editing an Image Occlusion note (the built-in type), it seems you can either use the image editor, or edit all the fields but Image and Occlusion. I understand why those are normally hidden ("no user serviceable parts inside"), but I have a use-case where I'd really like to be able to edit the text manually.

Specifically, I'm messing around with trying to add cards that ask me to find a particular occlusion (so not just the current 'What's the name of this Hawaiʻian island?" but also "Find Oʻahu"). I'm getting closer to making it work with a second Cloze field, but if I could just muck around in the Occlusion field by hand it would be a lot easier.

I haven't found a way to get that field to appear in the editor. It is just an ordinary field so it might be something that could be surfaced using an add-on, but I don't think there are any other note types that have non-editable fields like this.

So here are my crazy ideas (that I haven't tried) --

  • Some combination of add-ons that would let you (1) add fields as columns in Browse, and (2) edit fields directly in the Browse list/table section. I believe that 1 exists, but I'm less certain about 2.
  • Export the note as text, edit it, and reimport. Probably more "process" than you'd want if you're doing this very often, but if it's rare, it could get you past this roadblock.
