#Basic (type in the answer) card answer marked as wrong

I'm trying to debug this as this is the only card I'm having trouble typing a date with
if I type in 1381 then it functions as expected
the anwer 1381 appears to fail when the answer string is beyond a certain length independent of content.
This is very difficult to debug. Anki seems to dislike 'type in the answer' if the answer is just a number and the answer string is beyond a certain length with the number not located at the beginning of the answer string.

once the answer gets above a certain length it is no longer a single row which is unsupported
