#If I use Anki only once per day, should my (re)learning steps complete during that single session

My question is somewhat related to my earlier question (#1312467347512229939 message). I upgraded to the latest Anki 24.11 and AnkiDroid 2.20.0 so both use 24.11 codebase, and I optimized my cards as instructed.

I also cleared both learning and relearning steps in Anki for FSRS to do its magic, and my "learn ahead limit" is the default 20mins.

I use Anki only once per day about same time 21:00 - 21:30. And in the past I have done all my daily cards during that one session and since my learning and relearning steps were 10mins, and "learn ahead limit" 20mins I went through all the cards during that one session no matter how many times I failed.

However when letting FSRS to choose the learning and relearning steps, pretty much all the failed cards were scheduled to appear after more than 20 minutes and I saw perhaps 2 of the failed 30-50 (just a guess how many I failed but probably around that number) cards during my tonight's session.

And since I use Anki only once per day, in practise those today's failed cards will only appear to me after 24 hours. So I think, it doesn't really even matter to me in this scenario if the learning and relearning steps are 1 hour or 23 hours since it will be only next evening when I see the cards again?

So my question is, when you study only once per day, does it make more sense to use for example 10 mins for learning and relearning steps and 20 mins for "learn ahead limit" (or whichever other numbers which cause the same effect) so that I will learn/complete all the cards during that day, even though the last few cards I keep seeing again almost instantly?

Or can FSRS still do it's magic somehow even if I don't follow the learning and relearning steps (as in I am not trying to learn the card after XX minute but only after 24 hours) it schedules for me?

Well, if you do your cards once and the next time do them tomorrow, then it doesn't matter whether your steps are 10m or 10h, since you will not see this card again today anyway.
