I restarted a new game and it still would not unlock. I only did 5 Digging quests to complete the first class quest for technician which I claimed the achievement for it.

look at the rewards for completing some of the challenges, some will have +1 to whatever class its for

I think it is the class quests that is bugged. I am going to redownload and reinstall the game and see if that helps. I had no quests for any of the classes, just the achievements.

Also I have been using 7D2D Launcher.

there are no class quests, it all via challenges, you need to complete the first set of challenges (just like vanilla) to unlock the other challenges, all 4 tabs of challenges

OK so I rechecked it and the Mechanic Class 1 is unlocked with a shopping cart while level 2 and 3 has a lock on it.

But the Class one stats I need met the player level requirement which I can not find out what level I need.

On my player level 16 salvage operations level 2 is locked with requirements of Technician class lvl 1 and player level 15. Yet I can not purchase Technician class lvl 1 with 4 points free to spend.

Mouse over on Technician class lvl 1 cart icon reveals NA only. no requirements and I can not buy it. Do I need more than 4 points to buy it?

you gain the ability to put ponts in that class tree when you complete certain challenges in that class, its the 3 tab of challenges under Y

its n/a because its checked off automatically when you meet certain criteria

I see it. It is to crafte the generator, bank, relay, switch challenge.

its prob gated by acquiring and learning receipes via skill magazines

its fine, there's been alot of confusion of players getting used to the new challenge system

at least you dont have to do the challenges in order like a quest chain, its just gated on receipes and levels now

new to this mod mags Construction and Design and Resources are prob early game go to, and once you can craft the mag loot bonus mods, that' makes find them (or ones you want) even easier

yeah. I need to unlock the recipes by getting to lvl 10 in electrician.

those mods go in gloves and increase magazine drop for which ever one you equip, get better gloves and you can equip more of those mods
