Is there anyway to connect monorail routes to another region's stations

I don't think I know how it works, but everytime I try to like connect the monorail route to another region, it just connects to the other region entirely instead of allowing me to direct it to the exact station I wanted it to be. Any ideas on how to do this? For like a better explanation, I've uploaded some screenshots regarding my problem.

Btw 2nd Pic is first, first Pic is 2nd, my phone just likes to sort the images by itself and I can't deal w/ that
