Steam version fails to start – missing TheoTown.jar after installation | TheoTown | Page 1

Hello, I need help with the Steam version of TheoTown.
After a clean installation, the game cannot start and shows this error message:

Could not find the main class: info.flowersoft.theotown.desktop.DesktopLauncher

Details:

TheoTown.jar is missing from the installation folder.
Steam only downloads about 150 MB instead of the usual 400–500 MB.
Steam Cloud shows an error during installation.
I’m using Windows 11 with Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

Could someone from the technical team check if the current Steam build might be incomplete or corrupted?

Could you try the beta branch? Could also specify the architecture of your OS (32/64 bit)?

Sure, I can try the beta branch. How can I access it? Also, my OS is Windows 11 64-bit

i tried it, i change the beta participation into "beta - branch for testing new features" and still show the same

My guess is that you have a Java installed that doesn't like that the game's jar file uses the lby extension, though this is the first time I see this error.
You may try to uninstall java if it is installed. If it is not installed you may try to install it. Note that you usually have to restart the computer after installing or uninstalling java for it to take effect.
