File manager plugins don't work

When I put a plugin it doesn't ask me to restart and when I look for it it's no where to be found

Are you putting the plugins in the plugins folder and are you restarting the game after you add a plugin?

No I'm not putting it in the folder

It won't let me restart it I said

It doesn't give me the option to

You can restart by closing the app and reopening it

In theotown, there are two types of plugins, ones either with a manifest file and ones without. Manifest plugins are from the plugin store whereas those without are from the forums or other online communities. Theotown allows this so plugin creators can have private plugins. In short, a manifest file lists the files in the app, describes how they are used and sometimes specifies paths. Today I want to show you a guide on how to install plugins without a manifest:

Method:
1: First you install the file. You should close theotown first before step 2 as well or your save could be corrupted

2: After installing the file, you should see it in the downloadeds section of your device. You can find you file explorer below here:

• Windows: File Explorer
• MacOS: Finder
• Linux: Nautilus (GNOME often called just files), Dolphin (KDE Plasma), Thunar (XFCE), Caja (MATE), PCManFM (LXDE/LXQt)
• Android: My files (Samsung), File Manager (Xiaomi), Files (Huawei), File Manager (Oppo/Vivo), Files (IpadOS/IOS)
• Other: Files (Chrome OS), Docs (Amazon Fire OS), Nokia: Gallery/File Explorer

3: After locating the file, copy (or cut the file) and find the theotown folder - not the game - and then go to plugins (NOT MANAGED PLUGINS) and paste it. (Not “sample plugin” either: #town-square message )

4: After doing that, open up theotown. It will give you a warning for no manifest, ignore and continue.

5: If you cannot find the plugin, go into the plugin files and type the name into the search bar

I can't access data

It says folder can't be read

If it is a .zip, you need to unpack it
If it is a folder, you should be able to read the contents

The plugin that is

I am not really familiar with those types of plugins but it should work if you put it into your plugins folder using your system’s file manager(once you exit theotown) i think
