Hello TheoTown team,

I need some help. After I downloaded several plugins from the in-game plugin store (specifically from the “new” and “updated” tabs), my game is now stuck at the loading screen.

It freezes at:
"Prefetching images... 14810/14811"

Everything was fine before installing the plugins, but after restarting the game, I can no longer get past this screen. I’ve already tried:

  • Force closing the app
  • Clearing the cache

…but nothing helped. I suspect one of the plugins might be corrupted or incompatible, but since the game won’t load, I can’t identify or remove it easily.

🔹 Game version: v1.12.23a (11223)
🔹 Device: Vivo y20 model V2043
🔹 Plugins installed: Only from the “new” and “updated” tabs

Please let me know how I can fix this or remove the plugin manually. I really love the game and would appreciate any help. 🙏

Uninstall some plugins

#

They only way to do this with the game being frozen would be to use a PC or laptop to access the files

Ptag files

TheoTown files are located under such directories:

  • Windows: C:\Users(insert username)\TheoTown or %USERPROFILE%\TheoTown
  • Linux: ~/TheoTown
  • MacOS: /user/TheoTown
  • Android: /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/info.flowersoft.theotown.theotown/files
By default you should be in /storage/emulated/0/. Uninstalling the game on Android will delete all files, unless you decide to keep the files when prompted by uninstaller. (android 11 onwards restricts access to external storage for apps, so if the files cannot be accessed this way, opt for the in-build manager explained below)
  • ios: Search "TheoTown" in the file manager app

If you cannot access game files through these directories, game has an in-built file manager for mobile devices which is accessible from the region view menu.

You can find your plugin, music, region and city files there as well as logs for debugging purposes.

And then you can go to these file location, and then into the managed plugins folder and delete some things

Happy to help! Just a word of warning that you could have reached your devices limit for how many plugins it can handle

There's not an exact number I can give you because it varies from person to person
