Monorail is gadgetbhan and often isn’t rapid transit. It’s either hanging or beam which doesn’t mean it shares tracks. Monorails are typically suited for hilly and mountainous terrain, not really urban. Also monorails are never LRT. LRT are basically grade separated trams but sometimes share with cars. Also monorails such as the Seattle Monorail aren’t even considered rapid transit. Most monorails aren’t full fledged systems but maybe two or three stops. Monorails are typically best shorted for amusement parks as it provides a past future feel. For more mountainous cities they typically pick gondola, cable car or aerial tram.
