Nasty bug with TheoTown on PC

I've been playing TheoTown on my computer for the past few days and I am getting this particular error. What really upsets me is the city not saving, causing me to waste a few minutes of time.

When submitting a good crash report, please provide the details of when or under what circumstances the game crashed as well as the following files which can be found in TheoTown folder:

• crash.txt
• log.txt
• out.txt
  You can find out TheoTown's directory for your system by checking out Ptag files.

Moreover, if you can trigger the game to crash with the same error in a reproducible fashion, please mention that in your report as well as that helps us get it to crash on our own machines which in turn lets use fix it easier.

@forest grotto What happens when you click on ignore in the error message?
As the issue seems related to drawing lightning you may use a weather machine to disable lightning until the issue is fixed

I did click on the "ignore" message, but 2 seconds later, the game cannot handle what just happened and crashes

Something similar happened before this where the graphics were glitched and the game was not responding to any input at all. I was forced to close out of the game

This could be from the amount of plugins I had enabled

I tried again with a few plugins disabled and that, and I'm still getting that error

Hi, thanks for the details. Given that it is a Lua related issue I assume that it's a side effect of a plugin. At the same time, the error messages don't make any sense at all. Can you confirm that it only happens when there are lightnings active?

I reinstalled Java and I'm still getting that error

Java reinstallation would not fix the issue.

Because the crash is related to Lua, not Java

@forest grotto Please try the latest version in the beta channel of the game in Steam. The game should not crash with the said error anymore, but I don't know why it happens in the first place.
