Ptag crash
When submitting a good crash report, please provide the details of when or under what circumstances the game crashed as well as the following files which can be found in TheoTown folder:
- crash.txt
- log.txt
- out.txt
You can find out TheoTown's directory for your system by checking outPtag files.
Moreover, if you can trigger the game to crash with the same error in a reproducible fashion, please mention that in your report as well as that helps us get it to crash on our own machines which in turn lets use fix it easier.
I would also suggest checking your antivirus for flase positives
Mine says it has a virus
Just dismiss it
Ptag files
TheoTown files are located under such directories:
- Windows: C:\Users\(insert username)\TheoTown or %USERPROFILE%\TheoTown
- Linux: ~/TheoTown
- MacOS: /user/TheoTown
- Android: /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/info.flowersoft.theotown.theotown/files
By default you should be in /storage/emulated/0/. Uninstalling the game on Android will delete all files, unless you decide to keep the files when prompted by uninstaller.
If you cannot access game files through these directories, game has an in-built file manager for mobile devices which is accessible from the region view menu.
You can find your plugin, music, region and city files there as well as logs for debugging purposes.
and what should I do with this
Put the files here
Yes
Someone who's on PC will have an easy time reading those
I'm not right now
So I won't be of much help
But also check your antivirus to make sure it's not flagging any files
We've had a few reports of that
I don't have antivirus
Windows defender
And the game simply crashes when I start
I would still suggest checking this, as this has been the source some folks have reported
I click on "Jugar/play", shows "execution.." and closes
Not even open the game, it doesnt open directly
@mellow umbra what do these mean?
Hi, it seems that Windows Defender deletes the file lwjgl.dll that the game creates and depends on. I confirmed that the dll is the original one from here: https://www.lwjgl.org/browse/release/3.3.4/windows/x86 (it's a framework for java) and escalated the issue to Microsoft. I hope they can resolve this within a few days.
Here's the current state of detection for this file: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/4d87e75c96bba1100772b956f3ce7bd1508a90fff622b7d642d507ba1f8ae3f2 since it's a relatively new version false positives are not that unexpected, though it is annoying.
A way to circumvent this is to manually restore the dll in the windows defender. Though, I cannot generally recommend this so waiting may be a safer option.
VirusTotal
@gusty thistle please read above ^
so... should I wait?
If that's what you're comfortable with, otherwise, you, can you go to your antivirus and allow the file to be used
I'm sorry if I'm annoying, but how do I do it? I didn't even know it had antivirus.😢 It won't work if I uninstall and install Theotown?
tysm🙏
