Every new camera mode like this will require a texture for it too

So unless we can convince hundreds of plugin makers, some retired, to add a brand new texture to the thousands of plugins for this camera mode, the experience will be pretty terrible

Don't get me wrong, a bird view camera is definitely possible, but asking for night anims was already a big task for plugin makers, I don't know how open they will be to this.

If you look at the picture in link, you will notice it’s from the current existing game with existing plugin, so no need for any extra work of plugin creator

honestly, I don't find this a good suggestion. it is 2D game. and the "bird view" requires adding a third dimension (or something like "2.5D"?). Well, in my opinion it requires kinda big work for developers to implement such a feature that will be popular unlikely.

Yes, it’s some image processing, kinda squeze and stretch image, but I’m not expert or familiar in that field
I think I notice people get confused and wrong around this suggestion, when I say “bird view” it’s just a way to describe it, what I mean is to get similar image in my post (the link in the suggestion), not a real change of view angle that require picture or drawing of new side of buildings.
As you can see in the post, it’s just image from game, and it didn’t require any additional drawing of any building, that’s why I suggest it as a new camera mode

you can't just stretch an image and expect it to work, also whatever image you provided is anything but "bird's view"

Plus I already said above, if you read though first 1-2 reply, you will know bird view is “quoted”, it’s just a way to describe it. what I suggest is able to take a picture from game “exactly like what I post as showcase”, you can say it’s an illusion effect, which i think is cool and interesting

And the picture is from game, so I didn’t ask and it didn’t need anyone to add new drawing to any building
I wouldnt make any suggestion that require too many people working on it or too complicated, I’m not delusional, and suggestion is genuine to benefit more people, since I can keep playing with those picture without this feature in game

Does it look like a minimap for you… its different from a minimap. it’s “like” a bird view, and that’s all, and that view can be optimized to be cooler which I’m not expert in, thus the suggestion here

I’m pretty sure when I get that view, quite some people find it interesting, it can be optimized for presentation, but the idea and effect is good.

btw, about the pixel art, it can also be problematic since it is true pixel art (not just high resolution image that imitates a pixel art), so it is probably hard to impossible to stretch/squeeze it programmly

As to this technical argument, it’s not true, it didn’t get any more blur than original screenshot, it even not involving any average effect at “TheoTown pixel level”, it keep every pixel, stretched in a much bigger resolution
