Hello, i want to report some bugs and issues
(some I found some time ago)

  • After saving the game on the biggest map
    possible for android (105 km²) the game
    automatically zoomed out, the default background changed to gray, and all the vehicles dissapear (you can still see the vehicles by entering "delete mode"or
    "eyedropper mode" then the vehicle will run strangely (like shaking)

  • Certain plugins cause massive performance
    drop and sometimes crashed for "Out of memory" error for some
    reason. I've been doing some experiments.
    by downloading more plugins who take more
    space and there is no issue at all. (might be the issue with the plugin itself but im not 100% sure)

  • Out of memory error even though Theotown only takes around 1-1.5 gb of RAM and there is still plenty of ram available (Around 7GBs) so my suggestion is to increase theotown possible ram usage on certain devices (in case if the mentioned "out of memory" means out of RAM instead of VRAM)

Theres no new logs on logs.txt (only from yasterday about an error for a certain plugin so i didnt include that)

When submitting a good crash report, please provide the details of when or under what circumstances the game crashed as well as the following files which can be found in TheoTown folder:

  • crash.txt
  • log.txt
  • out.txt
    You can find out TheoTown's directory for your system by checking out Ptag files.

Moreover, if you can trigger the game to crash with the same error in a reproducible fashion, please mention that in your report as well as that helps us get it to crash on our own machines which in turn lets use fix it easier.

It might be because you ran out of memory. having a very big region is bad for your device

What if you build a test city in a very large region and try to replicate the issue in that same area?

ik, Log.txt doesn't contain anything that day (when the bug occurs) so there is no point of posting it here.

Also yeah uninstalling some plugin did helps but i use 80% of them and 20% are some deco plugins that i will use in the future

Now i cant even save my game and need to disable some plugins. they take like 40% of a texture page only for night animation

i hope theres a way to remove all the night animation manually (or atleast some of then) or atleast an option to disable it for certain plugins

disabling plugins did help but i wonder why the game consume much more resources and much less plugin can be loaded after the update compared to the previous update. i hope devs fix it on the next beta

On the first manual saving after entering the city the game didnt crash, but during the second one the issues persist

Plugins in general have little impact on memory usage

I don't remember the units used on the memory stats, if it's in KiB, you only have 524 MiB available with only 22 MiBs actually being free.

So you mean the game crashed when it takes the whole map preview used on "load city" section? If thats the case i hope you can add an option to make the city preview "screenshoot of the last zoomed area only" or even totally disabled it. Also the game consumes much more resources and the performances dropped when enabling many plugins (until texture page 10) since last 3~4 Beta build for some reason.

@sharp tiger Still unfixed for me even after "Reduce memory consumption upon taking a map screenshoot". Removing plugins doesnt do much. Please fix the memory usage it on the next beta 🙏

Taking a map screenshot is alot more intensive then you may think, even on PCs it's abit of work for them

Sorry but i was referring to "write preview" during the city saving which afaik "screenshooted" your whole city/map for preview on "load city" menu (correct me if im wrong since theres no definite explanation about it). this is why i thought the issues was fixed.

also i just noticed that this issues only exist after this version (previously got fixed by only disabling some plugins from texture page 10 30% filled texture to texture page 9 with ~90% filled texture) but now still unfixed on page 9 with 20% filled texture

now the game failed to save the city on the first try instead on the second one and beyond
