I've been playing on an "even bigger" map (I can't remember if that's the name) and all of a sudden I started to experience stuttering, any help?

I've been playing on an "even bigger" map (I can't remember if that's the name) ...
I had that issue for a bit and it went away after I cleared a couple of my older cities.
Not sure if it’s the same issue, but if you have a couple of bigger cities you never play, it might help if you clear them out.
