How do you gain money?

I js started this, and it seems like it's a great game. But how can I gain money? Should I just build lots of commercial zones? Plus, how do I remove the "zones"? The destroyer won't let me remove the color zones. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

@royal widget heya! So to gain money it's pretty easy just zone more. You collect rent from everyone pretty much.

And for taking care of zones you use the remove zone tool.
